/Writing using the decks for my character is going to get more complex as time passes on, just recently, a new Yubel Fusion and a new Gold Sarcophagus of Light support dropped. Incorporating all these new cards is gonna be hard, cause they just keep on coming.\
Chapter 8: Family
Oz slowly wakes up from being lightly shaken.
He opens his eyes and sees Yuto.
"Good your up. Mrs. Fudo is making breakfast."
Oz then gets up and follows Yuto down to the kitchen.
They get to the kitchen and find everyone else already there.
"Look who's finally up." Akiza teased.
"Sorry. Not a morning person." Oz said while rubbing the back of his head.
"Well then, maybe breakfast will help wake you up." Yusei suggested.
The two boys then sit down at the table, right next to Leo and Luna.
Yusei then addressed them. "You two mentioned that your a part of something called the Lancers, and that you have more comrades somewhere in the city. What exactly are all of you doing in this dimension in the first place?"
"We are searching for allies, before our enemy: Academia, invades this dimension." Oz answered.
"Allies?" Leo asked.
"Basically we are looking for friends who can help us." Yuto summarized. "Friends who are strong and can hold their own."
"Like Uncle Jack?" Luna asked.
"Who?" Oz asked. Oz figured she was talking about Jack Atlas, but he feigned ignorance to not draw suspicion.
"Jack is one of my childhood friends. He, along with my friend Crow and I all grew up as Commons, but one day, Jack started to rise to the top of the dueling scene, and became king. It was thanks to him, through some string pulling, that I was able to get a job as a scientist Topside, and for Aki to get a job as a doctor. Crow was offered a Topside job, but he refused as in his mind, Jack betrayed us. Since then, Jack and Crow don't talk, although we stay in contact with both."
"To become king here... he must be strong." Yuto comments.
"He is! He's the strongest in the city." Leo exclaimed.
"Although I've always had the feeling that if Yusei dueled more, Jack would be in 2nd place." Akiza commented.
'That seems like a reference to 5Ds.' Oz thought to himself.
After some time, breakfast was done and everyone ate.
Oz and Yuto were helping clean up, as a way to repay the Fudo family for letting them stay.
While they were cleaning Akiza spoke up.
"Say, for this dimension hopping quest of yours... Are your parents okay with it?"
Yuto froze and Oz stopped.
Yuto then looked down. "I've never had parents. I've lived in an Orphanage all my life."
Oz took a moment before answering. He did have parents, a Mother, a Father, and a Step-Father.
"My parents... are gone." Oz said.
"Oh, you poor boys." Akiza said as she hugged the two of them. They hugged back.
"Wait here. I'll be right back." Akiza said as she walked out of the room.
After a moment of silence, Yuto spoke up. "What were your parents like?"
"My Mother was a good person. She always supported my siblings and I. My father... not so much. It's not exactly something I should be getting into, but my parents divorcing and my mother taking custody of us was probably one of the best decisions of her life. Years later, she met my Stepdad. They dated for a while, before they eventually got married. For a long time, we lived happily. Then one day... Sorry, my memories of that day are fuzzy. I don't remember much, but I know it was a tragedy." Oz explained.
This was a half truth. The only part of it that was a lie was the tragedy part. Oz is sure that his family is okay back in his original world.
"I'm sorry for your loss. I may not understand the direct pain of losing family, but I understand the pain of loss." Yuto stated.
Oz then smiled. "Thanks."
Akiza then walked into the room with Yusei following. "So, Yusei and I have just talked, and we'd like to tell you."
"Alright." Oz said.
"We were thinking, that once all of this Lancer business is over, the two of you could become a part of our family." Yusei explained.
This left the duo speechless.
"But... we just met yesterday." Yuto stated.
"Yeah. You guys barely know us, why would you want to adopt us?" Oz asked.
"I was orphaned at a young age." Yusei started to explain. "My parents were caught in an experimental accident, leaving me to have to be raised in an orphanage. I met both Jack and Crow at that orphanage, where we became the best of friends."
"I'm sorry to hear that about your parents." Oz said.
"It's fine. It's in the past. Anyway, Leo and Luna aren't our biological kids, if that wasn't already obvious. We found them on our doorstep one day, there wasn't any trace of someone leaving them there, but I did hear what sounded like the call of a dragon. From then on, I knew it was fate that brought Leo and Luna to the two of us, and I believe that fate brought you two to us as well. The two of you also remind me of well, me. I can see it in your eyes, the two of you are going to become great people in the future and the two of us would like to be the ones to guide you."
Oz and Yuto then began to tear up, both touched with what Yusei said to them.
Yuto and Oz shared a look, then Yuto spoke for them both. "We'd love to become a part of this family."
The four of them then all embrace in a big hug.
Leo and Luna then peeked from around the corner. "Does that mean we now have older brothers?" Luna asked.
"Yes, it does." Akiza answered them.
The two then rush over and join the hug.
After a little while, Oz and Yuto were in their room, which is actually theirs now.
Yusei and Akiza were making preparations for the adoption, it would take some time for it to be official.
"So, the two of us are now brothers, who would've thought." Oz stated.
Yuto let out a chuckle. "I certainly didn't see it coming. But it does have a nice ring to it: Yuto Fudo and Osrelios Fudo."
"We now have an even bigger reason to win this Dimensional War. For our new family."
"For our new family." Yuto repeated.
The two went out to the living room. Where everyone else is.
Yusei and Akiza sent out a form to the council to get the adoption approved, this would take some time seeing as the council is usually busy.
Leo saw the two walk over and came up with an idea. "Hey big bros. Why don't you two show us a duel?"
"That's an excellent idea Leo." Akiza praised. "They do have cards that we've never seen before, why don't the two of you show us how they work?"
The two share a glance. "Okay." They both said.
A few minutes later, the two of them were facing each other in the yard, with the rest of their new family watching from the side.
"Duel!" Both shouted.
"I'll start!" Oz declared.

"I'll start by activating my field spell: Mausoleum of White! This card allows me to normal summon a level 1 light attribute tuner monster in addition to my normal summon."
"Two normal summons? Cool!" Leo said, already impressed.
"Now I normal summon my two tuners! Maiden with Eyes of Blue, and The White Stone of Ancients." Oz stated.
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: atk: 0
The White stone of Ancients: atk: 600
"Now I activate the effect of Sage with Eyes of Blue in my hand. I can discard this card, and target an effect monster I control. I send the target to the GY and summon a Blue-Eyes monster from my deck. I target Maiden With Eyes of Blue!"
Maiden was then surrounded by energy. Maiden then started to glow brightly.
"When my Maiden is target by an effect, she automatically summons out Blue-Eyes White Dragon from my hand, deck, or GY." Oz explained.
Blue-Eyes roared out once it was summoned.
"And now the one I summon from my Sage's effect: Blue-Eyes Jet Dragon!"
The jet like dragon flies in from the sky.

"Those dragons are certainly majestic." Yusei comments
"Now, it's time for my ace of this deck to finally make an appearance. I tune my level 8 Blue-Eyes White Dragon and my level 1 The White Stone of Ancients."
The White Stone turned into a green ring as it flew up. Blue-Eyes flew after it and turned into 8 stars.
"Dragon of Ice and Light! Bring forth a new dawn of hope with your shining power! Synchro Summon! Level 9: Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon!" Oz chanted.
As Azure-Eyes hit the field an aurora was formed, this left everyone was in awe.
"So pretty." Luna commented.
Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon: atk: 2500
"When Azure-Eyes is summoned, it grants all my currently controlled dragons the status of not being able to be targeted by card effects, additionally they can't be destroyed by card effects. This lasts until the end of the next turn." Oz explained.
"Now I set one card and end my turn." Oz declared.
'I just sealed the effect of Dark Rebellion, for now. If he used Break Sword's effect, then my face down will still be safe thanks to Jet. I doubt he'd go for a mutual destruction.'
"Now, my White Stone's effect triggers in my GY. During the end phase of the turn that its send to the GY, it allows me to summon a Blue-Eyes monster from my deck. I choose Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon."
The dragon roars once it appears from a shining light.
Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon: atk: 2500
"When Abyss Dragon is special summoned while the classic Blue-Eyes is either on my field or in my GY, it allows me to add either Polymerization or any Ritual spell to my hand. I choose the Ritual Spell: Chaos Form. Next, during my end phase, Abyss adds a level 8 or higher dragon to my hand. I choose the ritual monster: Blue-Eyes Chaos Max Dragon." Oz declared.
'Now only Abyss can be affected by Break Sword and Dark Rebellion. Not that Break Sword can do anything because of Jet.'
"My turn, draw!" Yuto declares.
Yuto LP: 4000 hand: 6
"I summon The Phantom Knights of Ancient Cloak. And because I control a Phantom Knights monster, I summon The Phantom Knights of Silent Boots." Yuto declared as he summoned the two monsters.
The Phantom Knights of Ancient Cloak: atk: 800
The Phantom Knights of Silent Boots: atk: 200
"Now I overlay my two level 3 monsters and build the Overlay Network! Souls of knights who fell on the battlefield. Revive here and now, and become the light that breaks the darkness! Xyz Summon! Appear, Rank 3, The Phantom Knights of Break Sword!"
Break Sword poses with its weapon.
The Phantom Knights of Break Sword: atk: 2000
"So that's an XYZ summon. Fascinating." Yusei comments.
"Now I activate Break Sword's effect! By detaching one material I can target and destroy a card on both our fields!" Yuto declared. "I choose Break Sword and Abyss Dragon!"
Break Sword's overlay unit was absorbed into it as it created a slash wave that flew towards Abyss Dragon.
Abyss Dragon responded by firing a breath attack at Break Sword.
The two attacks hit and created a dust cloud.
Once the cloud settles, it showed no Break Sword, but Abyss was still there.
"Unfortunately for you, Jet gives all my other cards immunity to being destroyed." Oz explained.
Yuto just smirked in response.
"Break Sword's effect activates! When it's destroyed, I can summon two Phantom Knights from my GY and increase their level by 1. Come back! Silent Boots and Ancient Cloak as level 4 monsters!"
The two monsters reappear and level up.
"Now I-" Yuto began as he suddenly stopped.
Yuto then looked at his extra deck.
'What is he doing? Is he not summoning Dark Rebellion?'
All of a sudden, Astral World text appeared on Yuto's arm. It read 98.
'A Number!?' Oz thought in disbelief.
Yuto was then starting to be surrounded by a dark aura.
'Oh no.'
All of a sudden, Oz hears Dark Rebellion's roar and his Millennium Puzzle glows faintly. The dark aura then breaks, along with the number on Yuto's arm disappearing.
'Did Dark Rebellion just call out to my Puzzle to protect Yuto?'
Yuto looks up from his extra deck with a determined look. "I overlay my two level 4 monsters! Number 98! The dark shadow of the utopian warrior, cut down our enemies with your mighty sword! Come forth! Antitopian!" Yuto chants.
Antitopian takes to the field and draws its sword.
Number 98: Antitopian: atk: 2000
'Antitopian!? Oh great. I know that Tachyon isn't going to work in this situation. Unlike Utopia, Antitopian changes the battle position of the opposing monster. But seriously how did he get a Number? Not even Z-arc should have access to them.'
"Now I activate the effect of Raider's Wing in my hand. By detaching one of Antitopian's overlay units, it can summon itself." Yuto explained as he summoned the monster.
Raider's Wing: Def: 2000
"Next I activate the continuous spell: Overlay Network. I use its effect to summon a monster with the same level as Raider's Wing. I summon The Phantom Knights of Fragile Armor!"
The Phantom Knights of Fragile Armor: Def: 2000
"Now I overlay my two level 4 monsters! With them, I once again build the Overlay Network! Formed from pitch-black darkness, to fight those foolish enough to oppose it with its treacherous fangs! Now, descend! Xyz Summon! Rank 4! Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon!" Yuto chanted.
Dark Rebellion appeared and roared.
Dark Rebellion XYZ Dragon: atk: 2500
"I use Dark Rebellion's effect! By detaching 1 overlay unit, I can half the atk of 1 of your level 5 or higher monsters, and have Dark Rebellion gain the lost atk. I use it on Abyss. Treason Discharge!"
Dark Rebellion's wings open up and purple lightning flies out and binds Abyss weakening it.
Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon: atk: 1250
Dark Rebellion XYZ Dragon: atk: 3750
"I'll use it once more! Treason Discharge!"
The same thing happens again, weakening Abyss further.
Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon: atk: 625

"Now, Antitopian attacks Abyss! Dark Crescent Slash!"
Antitopian brandishes its weapon before charging.
"Trap card: Defense Draw! Damage is reduced to zero and I draw a card." Oz countered.
"But your monster is still destroyed." Yuto reminds him.
"Now, Dark Rebellion, attack Azure-Eyes! Lightning Disobey of Rebellion!"
Dark Rebellion charged forward, intent on reaching Azure-Eyes.
"We won't go down without a fight. Azure-Eyes, fight back! Aurora Stream of Destruction!" Oz shouts.
Azure-Eyes charged up a breath attack before firing it at Dark Rebellion. Dark Rebellion powers through the attack and strikes Azure-Eyes, destroying it.
Osrelios LP: 2125
Dark Rebellion returned to Yuto's side. "I set one card and end my turn. With that, Dark Rebellion's atk returns to normal.
Dark Rebellion XYZ Dragon: atk: 2500
"My turn, draw!" Oz declared.
Osrelios LP: 2125 hand: 4
"I activate the Ritual Spell: Chaos Form! With this, I tribute Monsters whose levels equal exactly the level of the monster I which to summon. I tribute my Level 8 Jet Dragon."
The portal for Chaos Form appears and slowly opens. Jet flies right into the portal.
"When the pure white dragon tainted by chaos reaches its maximum power, it forms into a new strength! I Ritual Summon! Level 8: Blue-Eyes Chaos Max Dragon!"
Max Dragon appeared from the portal and gave a powerful roar.
Blue-Eyes Chaos Max Dragon: atk: 4000
"A Ritual Summon? Impressive." Akiza commented.
'I can't attack as Antitopian can just use its effect. Although he can only use it once. Currently I only have Max Dragon. These two cards though...'
"I play the Spell card: Ultimate Fusion!" Oz declared.
Yuto's eyes widened as he made a fist. He then let go of his fist as he remembered a conversation he and Oz had back in the Standard Dimension before they left for Synchro. 'No. He's not Academia. It's not the method, it's the user. That's what Oz told me before.'
Yuto immediately calmed down.
"This card allows me to Fusion summon any Fusion monster that specifically lists Blue-Eyes White Dragon or Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, by shuffling monster Back to my deck from those among my field, hand, and GY. I shuffle back My Chaos Max Dragon and the three Blue-Eyes monsters in my GY." Oz explained.
"Three dragons that fight for the light. Join your powers with that of chaos energy, and create a new power! I Fusion Summon! Level 12: Dragon Magia Master!" Oz chanted.
Dragon Magia Master appeared and roared.
Dragon Magia Master: atk: 5000
This left everyone else speechless.
"So cool." The twins commented.
"Go Magia Master! Attack Dark Rebellion! Magic Mastery Burst!" Oz declared.
Magia Master charged up an attack.
"I use Antitopian's last overlay unit to activate its effect! I switch your monster to defense position! Lunar Shield!" Yuto countered.
Antitopian's blade like Wings shifted and fired a dark energy blast at Magia Master.
"I activate Magia Master's effect! I negate your monster effect, and destroy it!" Oz shouts.
A blast was shot out from the staff of Magician of Black Chaos which was a part of Magia's design.
The blast collided with Antitopian's and forced it back. The two blasts hit Antitopian and destroy it.
"In that case, trap card: Phantom Knight's Fog Blade! This negates your monster's effects and prevents it from attacking and being attacked." Yuto explained.
"Magia can also negate traps as well." Oz stated.
The same thing that happened to Antitopian happened to Fog Blade.
Magia's attack then went through, consuming Dark Rebellion, and launching Yuto back.
Yuto LP: 1500
"I set one card and end my turn." Oz declared.
"This duel seems pretty even. They both keep countering each other." Yusei observed.
"It seems so, but I have a feeling that one of them is going to make a play that will leave the other out of options." Akiza commented.
Yuto stands up slowly, arms shaking. 'The power of that dragon is immense. But I won't give up. I can feel my deck calling out to me, and I won't let it down. I trust you, my deck.'
Yuto's deck began to admit a small golden glow, a glow that Osrelios noticed.
'Hang on is that-' Oz thought to himself as his thought process was interrupted by Yuto's next move.
"My turn! The strongest duelists get stronger by believing in their deck. This can lead to them forging the very cards that they need to overcome a situation. Now! Shining Draw!" Yuto declared.
Yuto LP: 1500 hand: 1
Yuto looked at the card he drew and smiled.
"I activate the spell card: Phantom Knight's Draconian Number Crossing!" Yuto declared.
'Huh!?' Oz thought. "I use Magia to negate and destroy your card!" Oz shouts.
"Too bad! Cards and their effects can't be activated in response to my spell!" Yuto explained.
'A spell speed 4!?'
"What this card does is simple. If Both a non-Number dragon type XYZ monster and a Number monster were destroyed last turn, this card summons both of them with their effects negated."
Both XYZ monsters fly up from GY portals.
Dark Rebellion XYZ Dragon: atk: 2500
Number 98: Antitopian: atk: 2000
'What's he planning? The only thing I can think of that he'd do is rank up Dark Rebellion...'
"I activate Silent Boots' effect from the GY, by banishing it, I can and any Phantom Knights spell or trap from my deck to my hand." Yuto explains.
"I'll use Magia's effect to negate your Silent Boots!" Oz countered. 'Your not summoning Dark Requiem on my watch.'
Yuto then smirked. "Baited you."
Oz then gained a equally shocked and confused expression. 'What does he mean baited?'
All of a sudden the Astral World text saying 98 appeared above Yuto's duel disk and turned into a mix of black and red.
"I overlay Rank 4 Dark Rebellion XYZ Dragon and Number 98: Antitopian!" Yuto declares.
"What!?" Oz exclaims.
"Rebellious Number 98! The dark dragon that embodies dystopia. Strike down your enemies from the shadows, and fight for the light! Come forth! Dystopian XYZ Dragon!" Yuto chants.
Shadows gathered together forming a mass, then a bright light erupted from the mass of shadows.
A dragon emerged from the shadows and light. It appeared to be a cross between Antitopian and Dark Rebellion. It had Dark Rebellion's body, and Antitopian's blade wings. The dragon was covered in black armor with golden accents. Finally, it had the chin fang/horn on Dark Rebellion, but it was made of a really sharp steel, making it look more like a sword.
The dragon let out a proud roar.
Number R98: Dystopian XYZ Dragon: Attribute: Dark, Type: Dragon, Rank: 0, Atk: 3300, Def: 2800
Summon condition: 2 XYZ monsters with the same rank, including a dragon monster and/or a "Number" monster.
Effect: (this card's rank is always treated as 1. This card is always treated as a "Utopia" card.) This card can not be destroyed by battle, except with a "Number" monster. Once per turn; you can negate the effects of all face up cards your opponent controls, and half the atk of all monsters they control, if you do; this card gains atk equal to the combined lost atk. When your opponent activates a card or effect (quick effect): you can detach 1 material from this card; negate the effect and banish that card, and if you do, special summon 1 XYZ monster from either GY to your field.
"Woah." Oz said. 'This is crazy. How did he gain this much power? It can't be Z-arc.'
"I activate Dystopian's effect! I can negate the effects of all of your cards and half the atk of all of your monsters. Dystopian then gains atk equal to the combined lost atk!" Yuto declared.
Dragon Magia Master: atk: 2500
Number R98: Dystopian XYZ Dragon: atk: 5800
"5800!?" The twins exclaim.
"Now, Dystopian, attack Dragon Magia Master! Dystopian Lightning Crusher!" Yuto shouts.
Dystopian then charged forward towards Magia, with lightning gathering in its chin fang/horn/blade.
"I activate my face down: Mirror Force! All your attack position monsters are destroyed!" Oz shouts.
The trap in question started to emit a bright light, causing those watching to cover their eyes.
"Not happening! I use Dystopian's effect! When you activate a card or effect, I can detach one overlay unit from Dystopian to not only negate that effect, but also banish it. Then I can revive any XYZ monster from either GY to my field! I choose Dark Rebellion! Go! Dystopia Disarray!"
Dystopian shot out lightning from its wings, the lightning pushed back the light from Mirror force and expels it.
"Now my attack remains undisturbed. Finish this Dystopian!" Yuto shouts.
Dystopian charges at Magia and stabs right through it, going out the other side.
The attack resulted in a shock wave that his Oz, sending him flying back.
Oz then landed hard on his back.
Osrelios LP: 0
Oz just laid there, looking up. 'This is the first time I lost in this world. And it was to Yuto, using a Number. Well, at least my first loss is to technically my brother.' Oz thought to himself.
Yuto walked over to Oz and held out a hand.
Oz took it as Yuto helped him up. "Good game." Oz said.
Yuto just smiles in response.
The rest of the family walked over, well Yusei and Akiza walked over. Leo and Luna ran over.
"That was so awesome!" Leo exclaimed. "You both were so cool!"
Leo's actions caused both boys to give warm smiles to him.
"Your duel was incredible." Yusei said. "Neither of you gave in and continued to counter the other."
"And your monsters. You two summoned some really impressive monsters. Especially you Yuto, with you 98." Akiza stated.
"Speaking of... how'd you get your hands on a Number?" Oz asked.
"First: I'm not sure. Second: what is a Number anyway?" Yuto responded.
"That's a bit of a long explanation. We should probably go back inside first." Oz responded.
"Good idea." Yusei stated.
They were all back inside, seated in the living room.
"Okay, where do I start? Ah!" Oz said. "To begin with, Numbers are a dangerous set of XYZ monsters that can posses even the strongest of minds if they don't have proper protection against them."
Oz then held up his Puzzle. "My Millennium Puzzle is my way of protecting myself from my Number's influence." Oz half lied. Ra kept the Numbers in line, but the Puzzle also helped.
Oz then pulled out three cards. He presented two of them. The two presented are Tachyon and Number XX: Utopic Dark Infinity.
Yuto then pulled out Antitopian.
"Notice something similar to all of them?" Oz asked his new family.
Taking a closer look at the monsters, they could see it.
"They all share an effect." Yuto said.
"Yes. That is the unique thing about the Numbers. Now onto the more interesting part. The evolved Numbers." Oz stated.
"Evolved?" Akiza asks.
Oz then placed the last card on the table: Neo Tachyon.
"Numbers have a few different evolutionary states. The most common is the Chaos Numbers, like Chaos Number 107 here. There's also Future Numbers, and even Shining Numbers. I've never heard of a Rebellious Number before." Oz admitted.
"So I have a completely unique card then?" Yuto asked.
"Yeah. Can I see it by the way?" Oz asked.
"Sure." Yuto said as he gave Oz the card.
Oz took a long look at R98.
"Any ideas guys?" Oz asked his duel spirits.
"It's not Z-arc's power that's for sure." Dark Magician noted.
"Your Puzzle used its power when Yuto some how obtained the regular Number, maybe it's formed from a bond between you and him." Azure-Eyes theorized.
"We need to make sure that he isn't possessed by his Number... I know! We can infuse some of our power into a card, and as long as Yuto has that card, He won't be able to be controlled by the Number." Stardust said.
"Then I have an idea to which card. Young one, you remember the rank 4 that was made as a support for the Future Numbers, right?" Sephylon
"Gagagaga Magician." Oz answered.
Oz then handed R98 back to Yuto. "I'm not sure what could have created this. Keep it safe, you don't want it getting into the wrong hands."
"Thanks." Yuto responded.
Oz then put a hand under the table, and silently opened the Catalog. He willed it to show only Gagagaga Magician. He grabbed the card, making it real.
He then could feel his Ace's energies going into the card.
Oz then stood up and pretended to take the card from one of his deck holders.
He presented the card to Yuto.
"This aught to help you summon your Rebellious Number a lot faster."
Yuto then took the card. "Are you sure?"
"Yeah. I'm sure." Oz responded.
Oz took a glance at the card and saw its material effect changed from benefiting only Utopic Future cards, to benefiting Utopic and Utopia cards. 'Well, that's good for him I guess.'
A knocking sound was heard.
Yusei got up to check out what the sound was.
Curious, Oz did too.
Yusei opened the door to find the kids Crow takes care of: Amanda, Frank, and Tanner.
