Prequel to my tragic story "After the train." Part 4.

###########################

Monday 29th February 2016, Pasadena Hospital.

Howard is talking to his father-in-law Mike

"Now I have got my new phone working I have been back in contact with the world. I have told Caltech what happened to me and Amy."

"How is she doing?"

"Amy is still in a coma over in Glendale hospital. I will go and visit her after I get out of this hospital. I have been in touch with the families of my friends who died. Raj's sister called, his body was cremated the day after he died, his ashes are now back in India. Sheldon, Leonard and Penny will have their funerals next week. If I am well enough I would like to go to their funerals. Do you know when Bernie's funeral will take place."

"It will probably be the week after next, we have a big family, we are giving them time to make arrangements to get here."

Then a nurse entered

"Mr. Wolowitz, you have a visitor", a police officer followed the nurse into Howard's room.

Mike stood up "I know what you are here for, you need to take a statement. Officer Mike Rostenkowski, City of Los Angeles Police, retired. Howard is my son-in-law."

The police officer shook hands with Mike "Pleased to meet you Sir, my name is Officer Fletcher, you must have done this before."

"Far too many times. If you will excuse me Howard, I will go get a cup of coffee and let Officer Fletcher do his duty."

The police officer sat next to Howard's bed.

"As your father-in-law correctly surmised I am here to take a statement. This was one of the worst train disasters in California history. Sixty people died, only four survived and you are the only one in a position to talk at the moment. Two others are like your friend Amy, they haven't woken up yet. It is important we get all the information that we can for the inquiry. Can you please confirm your full name."

"Howard Joel Wolowitz."

"Thank you Mr. Wolowitz, can you please describe what happened on the night of the 26th February….."
