/I'd like to let everyone know that when you notice an update but there's no new chapter, it means that I freshened up a previous chapter.
Fun fact: in GX and the Original series, the Extra Deck was known as the Fusion Deck.
Also remember, if a card isn't working like how it does IRL, that means I'm using the anime version of it.\
Chapter 18: First Trial
Osrelios and Ray both open their eyes to find themselves in a forest. Both had physical forms.
"I guess we don't have to share a body for now." Oz commented.
"Yeah, it looks that way." Ray replied.
The two began to walk in a direction.
Ray held the 4 nature cards in her hand.
"You said that we should harness the energy of the 4 nature cards into a more concentrated form. What did you have in mind?" Ray asked.
"I was thinking a monster. More specifically an exact counter to Z-arc." Oz replied.
Oz could think of a monster from his world that was a purified version of Z-arc. If he could get it into this world and change it up so it gave a huge advantage against Z-arc, that would be ideal.
The three Sacred Beasts then appeared.
The duo stop.
"We know where to bring you so you can create the new card. Hop on." Uria stated.
Uria bends down and the two hop on.
Hamon and Raviel began to fly in a different direction than the two were originally heading.
Uria, while carrying the duo, was following the other Sacred Beasts.
Deciding to start a conversation, Oz spoke up.
"What exactly is your relationship with Z-arc anyway?"
"... He and I used to be best friends. We were both competing in the World Duel Circuit when the incident happened. Z-arc used to duel just to make people smile. When the crowd cheered for the violence, he first tried to duel without harming his opponent. Eventually he gave up and continued to duel brutally. It hurt me so much to see go down that path."
"It probably still hurst knowing he's going to try and destroy anything if he comes back, doesn't it?"
"It does."
The two then remain silent for a while until Ray speaks up.
"So these Duel Spirits that we are with. What are they?"
"They're known as the Sacred Beasts. They are divine beasts who shadow the Egyptian God Cards." Oz explained.
Ray took a double take. "They shadow the gods!?"
Oz flinched from her shouting. "Yeah."
"So your soul is fused to literal divine beings."
"Yep. It's still something to get used too. On the plus side, I get access to their powers." Oz said as he created a flame in his hand.
After some more flying, the group finally arrived at their destination.
It looked to be some sort of Coliseum arena.
The two hop down off of Uria and land in the center of the arena.
The two look around before they see a light pillar in front of them.
Out of the pillar step two familiar figures.
"Yugi Motou and Seto Kaiba..." Oz stated, shocked.
"Hello there you two. The spirits told us that you need help gathering energy. Is that right?" Yugi asked.
"Hmph. I don't even know why we are wasting our time here." Kaiba said as he looked away.
"... That's definitely them alright." Oz muttered.
"If the two of you can beat us in a duel, it should generate enough energy for you to gather, although it won't be enough for your plan, but it's a start." Yugi explained.
"That being said, don't expect us to go easy on you." Kaiba stated.
Duel Disks appear on Yugi and Kaiba's arms. The Duel Disks were the exact ones that they used in DSOD.
A Duel Disk appeared on Ray's arm, surprising her. The Duel Disk was just like Oz and Yugi's but had purple light instead of blue or pink.
"Wait I have to duel as well?" Ray asked.
"That's the point of having two opponents." Kaiba stated.
"I... may have lost my deck when I split the Dimensions." Ray stated as she looked away.
Sighing, Oz pulled out two decks. "Pick one."
Ray looked over and looked at the decks.
She placed her hand over the one on the left. "Can I?"
Oz nodded. "Sure."
Ray too the deck and inserted the main deck into the holder, and pocketed the Extra Deck.
'I'll fight like you once did.' Ray thought to herself.
"Duel!" They all shout.
"In this duel both teams will share LP." Yugi explains.
"I'll start!" Oz declared.

"I start by playing the continuous spell: Shining Sarcophagus!" Oz declared.
The gold colored sarcophagus appeared next to him.
"I activate its effect to add any card that lists it in their text to my hand other than another copy. I add Archfiend's Arrival. And since I control Shining Sarcophagus, I can Normal Summon it without tribute." Oz declared as he did as he said.
The lid of Shining Sarcophagus opened and Archfiend's Arrival stepped out and onto the field.

"Next, since I control Shining Sarcophagus, I can summon this card from my hand! Come forth! Dark Magician the Ebon Sorcerer!"
Just like with Archfiend's Arrival, Dark Magician the Ebon Sorcerer appeared from inside the sarcophagus.

"Amazing. It's like he's using a redesigned version of my deck." Yugi commented.
"That's exactly what this is." Oz confirmed. "It was made to honor you and your legacy. To use it against you is the biggest honor I can get as a Duelist."
"Then I'll uphold that honor by giving it my all." Yugi responded.
"When Archfiend's Arrival is on the field, all of my other monsters gain 500 atk during my turn only. This effect will only matter later. I set 2 cards and end my turn." Oz declared.
"In that case I'll take a turn." Yugi states.

"I'll start by simply setting a monster and two cards. With that I'll end my turn." Yugi declared.
"Don't underestimate that move." Oz warned Ray. "This is the King of Games himself."
"Right. Anyway it's my turn, I draw." Ray declared.

"I'll start by setting the Pendulum Scale with scale 1 Odd-Eyes Persona Dragon and scale 8 Odd-Eyes Mirage Dragon!" Ray declared.
The two dragons rose up into the blue pillars.
"So that's what it's like to do that... Cool." Ray commented.
"So there's that summoning method we've been hearing about." Kaiba commented.
"Next I'll Pendulum Summon!" Ray declared.
A single light flew from an opened Pendulum Portal.
"Come forth! Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon!" Ray shouts.
Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon: atk: 2500
Ray stares at the dragon for a moment. 'Its energy reminds me of how the other Odd-Eyes used to be.'
"I'll set 3 cards and end my turn." Ray declared.
"If that's the moves you'll be making, then I doubt you'd be able to go far." Kaiba commented.
"My move. Draw." Kaiba declared.

Kaiba looked at his hand and smirked.
"I activate Polymerization to fuse all three of my Blue-Eyes White Dragons. Feast your eyes on the most powerful of all dragons, in its fully evolved glory! Fusion Summon! Show yourself, Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon!" Kaiba chanted.
Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon: atk: 4500
"Oh boy... better now than never. I summon the trap monster: Stronghold the Hidden Fortress!" Oz declared.
The monster appeared behind Oz.
Stronghold the Hidden Fortress: atk: 0
"Stronghold gains atk for each Shining Sarcophagus I control as well as monsters that list it in their text, including itself." Oz explained.
Stronghold the Hidden Fortress: atk: 4000
"A trap monster that powers up depending on the amount of similar cards... how intriguing." Kaiba said.
"I activate Neo Ultimate's effect. By revealing Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon in my Fusion De- ahem. I mean Extra Deck, Neo Ultimate can attack three times." Kaiba explained.
"Now Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, attack their monsters! Hyper Ultimate Burst!"
"I activate Stronghold's effect!" Oz shouts. "When your monster declares an attack while I control Shining Sarcophagus, I can destroy your monster!"
"Not if I activate De-Fusion!" Kaiba countered.
Neo Ultimate split into two its 3 components.
Blue-Eyes White Dragon: atk: 3000 x3
Kaiba was about to declare an attack, but stopped.
"I'll set a card and end my turn." Kaiba declared.
'He stopped before I could destroy his Blue-Eyes. His instinct is still as sharp as it was in his prime.' Oz thought to himself.
"My turn! Draw!" Oz shouts.

"I'll start by using Shining Sarcophagus' effect to add Ties of Friendship to my hand." Oz stated.
"Next I activate it. This card allows me to summon two level 4 or below monsters who list Shining Sarcophagus in their text. I summon the two silent fighters who start from zero. Silent Magician Zero and Silent Swordsman Zero!" Oz declared.

"And don't forget, Archfiend's Arrival boosts my other monsters by 500" Oz reminded. "Additionally, Stronghold gets even stronger."

"Next I'll activate Turn Silence. This card ups the level of 1 monster I control by 3. I choose Silent Swordsman Zero."

"Silent Swordsman Zero gains 500 atk times the difference between its current and original level. That's a 1500 boost."
Silent Swordsman Zero: atk: 3000
"Now, Archfiend's Arrival will attack Yugi's face down monster!" Oz declared.
Archfiend's Arrival shot out Lightning at the face down. The card flipped up to reveal Marshmacaron.
"When Marshmacaron is destroyed, I can call forth two more copies." Yugi explained.
The Lightning hit, and caused Marshmacaron to split in two, then the two pieces regenerated into two more Marshmacaron.
"In that case my two silent fighters will attack your Marshmacarons." Oz stated.
"Not if I activate my trap! Waboku! This makes it so my monster can't be destroyed by battle and I can't take damage." Yugi countered.
"He waited to use that so he could have two Marshmacaron instead of 1." Or observed.
"I'll end my turn here. And with that, Archfiend's Arrival's effect ends for now."

"In that case, my turn. Draw!" Yugi declared.

"Whenever you draw a card, and whenever the standby phase rolls around, my silent fighters get stronger, by leveling up." Oz stated.

"I think it's time this duel gets serious." Yugi stated.
"I couldn't agree more." Kaiba said.
"I tribute my two Marshmacarons. Roaring dragon of black-steel! Shatter the lock that encloses the boundaries of the mortal plane and bring forth destruction to all my enemies! Come forth, Gandora-X the Dragon of Demolition!" Yugi chanted.
Gandora-X the Dragon of Demolition: atk: 0
"Oh. We're doomed." Oz commented.
"Why? Is it the effect of that monster?" Ray asked.
"It's precisely why. Gandora-X destroys all other monsters on the field, and deal damage equal to the highest atk. Then it gains said atk." Yugi explained.
"The highest atk is your trap monster. You lose." Kaiba stated.
"Not if I can help it!" Oz shouts. "I activate Dark Magic Mirror Force!"
"This card is activated while I control a monster mentioning Shining Sarcophagus, and my opponent either attacks, or activates a monster effect that would destroy one or more monsters. This card give all my monsters that list Shining Sarcophagus a one time destruction protection, and destroys all of your monsters in attack position and deals 500 damage for each if I control Dark Magician." Oz explained.
"Unfortunately our LP is safe since you don't control Dark Magician." Kaiba stated.
"I wouldn't count on that. Dark Magician the Ebon Sorcerer has its name changed to Dark Magician while on the field." Oz stated.
"In that case, trap card! Blue-Eyes Light! All Blue-Eyes monster I control can not be destroyed by card effects this turn." Kaiba countered.
Bolts of Dark Magic flies out from Ebon Sorcerer's staff and flies At the 4 opposing dragons.
The 3 Blue-Eyes began to emit light that deflected the bolts.
A forth bolt flies and hits Gandora-X, and at the same time, a laser is shot from Gandora-X that flies at Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon.
Both dragons explode, dealing damage to both sides.

"We took more damage from that then they did. We can't afford to be careless." Oz said.
"I set 1 card face down and end my turn." Yugi declared.
"My turn draw!" Ray declared.

"Silent Swordsman Zero gets stronger again." Oz stated.

"I now Pendulum Summon! Come back, Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon. And come forth Fusion Magician."

Fusion Magician: Def: 2300
"Now I use Fusion Magician's effect to fuse itself with Odd-Eyes!" Ray declared.
"Magician who studied the art of fusion, combine your powers with the eerie dragon with dichromatic eyes and mix together into a new poison! Fusion Summon! Level 7: Starving Venemy Dragon!" Ray chanted.
Starving Venemy roared.
Starving Venemy Dragon: atk: 2500
"I use Starving Venemy's effect to lower the atk of one monster you control, steal its effects and name, and deal you 500 damage." Ray declared.

"Next I'll just have to end my turn."
"In that case, let me tear you down." Kaiba stated. "Draw."

"My silent fighters continue to get stronger." Oz interjected.
Silent Magician Zero: level: 6 atk: 2000
Silent Swordsman Zero: level: 10 atk: 4000
"I activate Card of Demise. This allows me to draw until I hold 5 cards in my hand. However 5 of my own standby phases later, I have to discard my entire hand." Kaiba explained.
"Next I activate a second copy of Polymerization. I yet again fuse my three Blue-Eyes to summon Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon!"
Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon: atk: 4500
"Next I tribute Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon. My shining dragon, decimator of all, which can only be summoned through my ultimate monster! Appear before me! Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon!" Kaiba chanted.
Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon began to crack until it revealed Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon inside, which broke out.

"Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon gains 300 atk for each Dragon in my GY. There's currently 4."
Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon: atk: 4200
"Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon... Never thought I'd see it in person." Oz commented.
"Shining Dragon, attack Starving Venemy! Shining Burst!"
"Trap card! Defense Draw! Damage is zero and I draw an extra card." Ray countered.
A barrier formed around Ray as the blast hit and destroyed Starving Venemy.
"Tch. I set 2 cards and end my turn."
My turn. Draw!" Oz shouts.

Archfiend's Arrival glowed and Oz' other monsters powered up.

"Silent Swordsman Zero gets stronger yet again."

"I think it's time to end this in one final move." Oz declared.
"Yugi Motou! You showed your Gandora monster, I'll show mine. I use Shining Sarcophagus to add Geas Gandora The Dragon Of Destruction!"
"His own Gandora..." Yugi repeated.
"Now tribute Stronghold and Silent Magician Zero. The destructive dragon takes up a brand new form. Tear through all of our enemy's defenses! Come forth! Level 8: Geas Gandora The Dragon Of Destruction!" Oz chanted.
The two monsters turned into light that flew into the card. Then the dragon appeared behind Osrelios.

"Because of Archfiend's Arrival, Geas Gandora gains 500 atk."

"Now I activate Geas Gandora's ability! All other cards on the field are destroyed and banished! Geas Giga Rays!"
Geas Gandora fired out dozens of lasers that tore through everything.
The field was covered in smoke, when the smoke cleared Geas Gandora and Shining Sarcophagus were the only things left.
"Geas Gandora gains 300 atk for each banished card."
Geas Gandora: atk: 3600
"Finish this Geas Gandora!" Oz shouts.
Geas Gandora charged up fire in its mouth.
Yugi and Kaiba share a look before looking forward and smiling.
The attack hit the both of them head on.
Yugi & Kaiba LP: 0
Upon the defeat of the two legendary duelists, both En Flowers and En Moon flew up and were absorbing energy. The two cards then combined into a blank Fusion Pendulum card.
"It's halfway complete." Oz said as he put his hand under the floating card.
The card then landed in his open palm.
"Congratulations. You've defeated us." Yugi stated.
Kaiba looks away, but gives a small smile. "Looks the the future is safe if a Duelists like yourselves are there to protect it. But remember: Every Duelist walks an endless road. Continue to challenge yourselves and evolve."
Oz and Ray smiled.
"You two should get going. Time isn't exactly on your side here. Allow the Sacred Beasts to take you to the next location." Yugi suggested.
"Right. And thank you. Both of you." Oz said with a smile.
Yugi gives a smile and Kaiba smirks.
Uria lowers its head and the two hop on.
They then take off, heading towards the next destination.
