/I really do hate it when a card's name is changed out of the blue. Especially if it's name was already something good. Example: Golden Sarcophagus of Light was changed to Shining Sarcophagus. I guess if you reread the story, try to mental image it as it's new name, and also don't get it confused later down the line, use Shining Sarcophagus and Gold Sarcophagus of Light interchangeably please.
Or do you guys want me to go back to previous chapters and fix all the card names? That's gonna be some effort.
With the fact that I'm using anime effects for certain cards... Neo Tachyon is one absolutely over powered unit. Its effect doesn't even make sense in the real format. Resetting the field to how it was when the turn began.\
Chapter 12: Battle of Dragons
Sunlight floods into the ruined building the three 14 year olds are sleeping in, waking them... mostly.
Serena quickly notices how she can move without problem again.
Yuto got up and saw that Serena was cuddling Oz.
Serena sat up and stretched.
"So... we gonna talk about that?" Yuto asked.
"Talk about what?" Serena responds.
"The fact that you're cuddling my brother."
"Cuddle what-now?"
"... I forgot. Your sheltered. Once this war is over, we need to get you some female friends to teach you about things."
Oz then started to stir.
Oz started to fumble for his glasses, before putting them on and seeing Serena right next to him.
Oz stared for a moment, before the situation finally dawned on him.
"Ah!" Oz shouts as he backs up.
Oz was blushing red.
Yuto sees Oz' face, it was red and he had a surprised look on his face. Yuto burst out laughing.
Oz got annoyed quickly and threw a blanket at Yuto, causing him to stop.
"So... We are in your home dimension Yuto. What should we do?" Oz asked.
"We should start by finding the Resistance Base. Luckily, I know where it is. Follow me." Yuto explained.
The three of them walked out the building and began to sneak around.
"Why are we going so slow?" Serena complained.
"Simple. We don't know if there are any enemies around." Yuto answered.
"So? I'll just crush them." Serena stated.
Serena began to walk ahead, when Oz grabbed her shoulder and pulled her back.
"Hey what are you-" Serena began as Oz covered her mouth.
An explosion occurred, followed by a bright light.
Oz and Yuto peaked around the corner and saw the XYZ resident Kaito Tenjo.
Yuto breathed a sigh of relief before calling out his comrade's name. "Kaito!"
Kaito turned and saw Yuto Oz and Serena approaching.
"Yuto, you've returned." Kaito said blandly.
He then noticed Oz and Serena. Kaito's eyes widened at the sight of Serena's Duel Disk.
"Academia Scum!" He shouts getting ready to attack her.
Oz quickly gets in the way. "Woah, woah, woah! Calm down! She's not with Academia!"
"Get out of my way." Kaito said coldly.
"Your going to attack an innocent person. I'm not moving." Oz stated.
"Innocent!? You think she's innocent?! She's with Academia! They're everything but innocent!" Kaito shouts.
"She's not with Academia! Not anymore!" Oz countered.
"Shut up! If you won't get out of my way, then I'll make you!"
"Time to fight I guess. Mind summoning me for this duel Master?" Tachyon asked.
"Got it." Oz replied.
Oz held up his duel disk, and Yuto and Serena walked to the side.
"Aren't you going to try to stop them?" Serena asked.
"Kaito is too stubborn. Words won't reach him." Yuto explained.
"Duel!" The two shout.

"I'll start." Kaito declared.
"I summon Cipher Twin Raptor." Kaito said.
Cipher Twin Raptor: atk: 1600
"Next since I control a Cipher monster, I can Special Summon Cipher Wing from my hand."
Cipher Wing: atk: 1400
'And he can summon his ace already.' Oz thinks to himself.
"Next I tribute Cipher Wing to use its effect! I increase Twin Raptor's level by 4!"
Cipher Twin Raptor: level: 8
"Cipher Twin Raptor counts as two material for an XYZ Summon! I overlay my one level 8 monster! With it I build the Overlay Network! Galaxy shining in the darkness, dwell in the demonic god of revenge and become my very servant! Xyz Summon! Descend, Rank 8! Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon!" Kaito chanted.
Cipher Dragon roared out with anger in its voice.
Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon: atk: 3000
"Now I set two cards and end my turn." Kaito declared.
"So what can you tell us about this guy?" Serena asked Yuto.
"He's a powerful Duelist who can bring out his ace monster very easily, just as you saw. His deck is loaded with counters to keep his dragon on the field." Yuto explained.
"Oz better be careful." Serena quietly says.
"My turn! Draw!" Oz shouts.
Osrelios LP: 4000 hand: 6
"I activate Nebula Dragon's effect! I reveal it and Blue-Eyes Jet Dragon in order to summon them both in defense position, with Jet Dragon's effect negated." Oz explained as he summoned the monsters.
Nebula Dragon: Def: 0
Blue-Eyes Jet Dragon: Def: 0
"Two level 8 monsters... don't tell me he's..." Kaito said quietly.
"Now I overlay my two level 8 monsters! With them I build the Overlay Network!" Oz declared.
"Number 107! Revive from the depths of time and space! The destructive light that ruled over the universe! Appear! Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon!"
Tachyon appeared in its sealed state before unraveling into its true form. It roars out a powerful roar.
Number 107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon: atk: 3000
"What in the-" Kaito shouts before getting a massive headache.
All of a sudden, Kaito gets the urge to activate a card he wouldn't be activating at this time. "I activate my trap: Cipher Bit! This attaches itself to Cipher Dragon as material, then it can't be destroyed once this turn." Kaito declared.
'Must be hidden memories to not trigger Tachyon's effect.' Oz thought.
Oz then smirked. "Tachyon attack! Tachyon Spiral of Destruction!"
"Counter it Cipher! Cipher Stream of Annihilation!" Kaito shouts.
The two blasts hit each other head on, clashing.
Neither dragon was backing down. The clash then caused a huge explosion.
Once the explosion cleared, both dragons were unharmed.
Kaito doesn't even react to Tachyon still being on the field.
"I set 2 cards and end my turn." Oz declared.
"My turn! Draw!" Kaito shouts.
Kaito LP: 4000 hand: 2
"I activate the continuous spell: Cipher Interference. Next I use Cipher Dragon's one overlay unit to activate its effect. Cipher Projection!" Kaito declared.
Cipher Dragon shot out beams of light that surrounded Tachyon.
Tachyon then teleported to Kaito's field and turned into a hard light construct version of Cipher.
"Cipher Dragon can take control of your monsters until the end of the turn. And they are treated as Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon." Kaito explained.
"Now, Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon attack directly! Cipher Stream of Annihilation! Cipher Interference activates! When I control 2 Cipher monsters with the same name, the atk of one of them doubles." Kaito stated.
Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon: atk: 6000
The attack got closer, but Oz smirked.
"Trap card! White Dragon's roar! I send Blue-Eyes White Dragon from my hand or deck to the GY, and force your battle phase to a close!
"Tch! I end my turn. With it, you gain your monster back." Kaito declared.
Tachyon turned back to normal and was back on Oz' field.
"My turn! Draw!" Oz declared.
Osrelios LP: 4000 hand: 3
Oz saw the cards in hand and smirked.
"First, I'll play Monster Reborn! This will allow me to revive my Blue-Eyes!" Oz declared.
"Not so fast! Counter trap: Solemn Judgement! I pay half my LP to negate your card!" Kaito counters.
Kaito LP: 2000
Oz then smirked more. "Then I'll just have to step up my game. I activate the quick-play spell: Rank-Up-Magic Quick Chaos!" Oz shouts.
"A Rank-Up-Magic!?" Kaito says surprised.
"This card allows me to take a Number I control and evolve it into its Chaos form. With this one monster, I reconstruct the Overlay Network!"
"Chaos Number 107! To rule over all of time with an absolute power. Bring forth dominion over our enemies! Chaos XYZ Evolution! Neo Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon!"
Neo Tachyon roars out the most powerful roar that Kaito has ever heard.
He stares at the dragon in shock, but for some reason, it feels familiar to him. He once again gains a headache.
Number C107: Neo Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon: atk: 4500
Oz then gave a huge smirk. "I Detach 1 Chaos Overlay Unit to activate Tachyon's effect! Time Tyrant!"
The color around them began to distort, as things started to move backwards.
"With this effect, everything returns to how the turn began." Oz stated. "Of course, Neo Tachyon is unaffected by this effect. Additionally, for the rest of this turn, you can not activate cards that I don't want you to activate."
Quick Chaos and Monster Reborn were both added back to Oz' hand. Solemn Judgment was then placed back face down on Kaito's field.
Kaito LP: 4000
"Wow. It really reset everything." Serena commented.
"Now I once again activate Monster Reborn! I revive Blue-Eyes White Dragon!" Oz declared.
Blue-Eyes spread its wings and roared.
Blue-Eyes White Dragon: atk: 3000
"Now, Neo Tachyon! Attack Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon! Ultimate Tachyon Spiral!"
Neo Tachyon fired off its attack. Cipher tried to retaliate, but its attempt was in vain.
The blast consumed Cipher and sent Kaito flying.
Kaito LP: 2500
"Now, Blue-Eyes direct attack! Burst Stream of Destruction!
Kaito watched as the attack went his way. The blast consumed him, sending him flying again.
Kaito LP: 0
Yuto then ran up to Kaito and offered a hand. Kaito swatted the hand away before getting up.
Oz then approached. "She is not with Academia. Not anymore. She turned against them once she learned about the actions that have been taken against this dimension."
Kaito looked away. "Don't expect an apology." Kaito then ran off before anyone could do anything.
A few moments of Yuto staring off in the direction of where Kaito ran off to, he turned to Oz and Serena.
"We should get going. The duel would have bound to have drawn attention."
The two then nod as they continue to follow Yuto.
A while later, they come across what appeared to be an abandoned lodge, at the outskirts of the city.
The trio were very careful to not get followed, with Oz secretly making sure they weren't using his psychic abilities.
Soon they reached the grounds of the lodge and saw the two XYZ residents Sayaka and Allen.
"Allen! Sayaka!" Yuto called out.
The two turned and saw Yuto running up to him, with Serena and Oz not far behind.
They run up to Yuto.
"Yuto! You're okay!" They cheered.
"Yeah, and I brought some allies." Yuto said, motioning to Oz and Serena.
"Wait a sec... Ruri!?" Sayaka exclaimed.
"She's not Ruri. She's an ex-prisoner of Academia, thus why she has a Fusion Dimension Duel Disk." Yuto explained.
'He just came up with that on the spot didn't he?' Oz though to himself.
"You broke out of Academia!?" Allen exclaimed.
"Not exactly. I was able to take advantage of a few soldiers who were slacking off, and grab ahold of this Duel Disk before using it to jump dimensions." Serena explained.
'Wow. Also on the spot.'
"Is Shun with you?" Allen asked.
"No. We got separated while we were in the Synchro Dimension fending off Academia's forces."
"You were in the Synchro Dimension?" Sayaka asked. "Why?"
"We were looking for allies." Oz answered. "We hoped to get the Synchro Dimension on our side before Academia could take it over."
It was then that Allen and Sayaka fully realized that Oz was there.
"Who are you?" Allen asked skeptically.
"This is Osrelios. He also goes by Oz. He is my adoptive brother." Yuto states.
"What!?" The two exclaim.
"Yeah... He and I ended up getting adopted by a family in the Synchro Dimension, it kinda just happened." Yuto admitted while rubbing the back of his head.
"Well then. If you're now Yuto's brother, that means that we can trust you." Allen stated.
"How is everything since I've been gone?" Yuto asked.
"Not good." Sayaka answered. "We've lost more comrades and Kaito has gone rogue."
"It's really just us who are able to fight. Everyone else are just civilians who we are keeping safe." Allen said.
"Then it's good a good thing that there are more of us." A voice said.
The 5 of them turn and see Shun.
"Shun!" The XYZ residents shout.
Shun goes right up to them. "So this is where you three ended up. When I heard that the three of you disappeared, I became worried."
"For all of us or just Yuto?" Oz asked.
Shun then rolled his eyes. "If I say all of you, will you shut up?"
"Aw, you do care!" Oz teased.
Shun then brought his fist down on Oz' head.
"Ow."
"Anyway, we need to go back to where I just was, I have a few comrades waiting." Shun stated.
Then they see a bright light.
"And it looks that Kaito has found them. We need to hurry."
The 6 of them run off in the direction of the light.
After a while of running, they arrive to see Yuya dueling Kaito. Yuya had Odd-Eyes XYZ Dragon on his field. Gong and Silvio were also there.
"Kaito!" Shun and Yuto shout.
Kaito then looked over and saw them.
"That's enough. They are allies." Shun stated.
Kaito then glared at them. "They got in my way."
"You really have gone rogue. Attacking friend and foe." Yuto commented.
Oz then stepped between Yuya and Kaito. "Listen. I know that I'm the last person that you'd listen to, but you need to calm down. I can tell that you have a lot of hatred in your heart. That hatred will consume you and turn you into the very monster that you are trying to destroy."
Kaito seemed affected by the words for a moment.
Kaito then scoffed before Cipher Dragon let out a lot of light.
When the light was gone, so was Kaito.
After some introductions, the XYZ residents lead the newcomers to the Duel Lodge.
Once they were inside, they were lead to spare rooms to lodge in.
Everyone was getting some rest after all the events that have happened.
They all figured that it would be best to leave the issues at hand for the next day.
