Henry storms into his study, being followed by his Commander and the Lords from his Private Council, his mind already forming a plan. He knows he needs to move fast, if he is gonna stand any chance at finding Bella and bring her back to Alexis.
He tells his Commander to send some of his best trackers to the last place where Bella was seen, and to get that information from Alexis' guard, the man leaving as soon as the order is given. Scouts are already riding that way, but it won't hurt to have some of his trackers see what they can find.
Henry then turns his attention to the Lords, ordering them to suspend all negotiations with anyone from Williams' Kingdom, giving whatever excuse they want for why that is. He has had some negotiations going so he can have a standing in Williams' Kingdom in case something like this happened, he just never thought he would need it before the negotiations were even over.
Some of the Lords protest, but Henry is quick in shutting them down, telling them that they either do as they are being told, or they will be next on the chopping block. He even goes as far as implying that maybe it's time to find new advisors.
That seems to get them to cooperate, with all of them agreeing to his orders and leaving as fast as they can, not wanting to risk Henry's wrath. Henry thinks that he definitely needs to shorten their leash.
Henry knows that this isn't over, there's still more to do. Next step, letting Josh know what has happened. Sending for his fastest messenger, he quickly writes a letter to Josh telling him what happened, that Alexis is safe with him and that he has every intention to go after Williams.
The messenger appears just as Henry is sealing the letter. He tells the man that this is a urgent letter and needs to be delivered as fast as possible to Josh, lives depending on it. The man nods at Henry and grabs the letter, running out of the room as soon as it is in his hand.
Henry takes a deep breath and lets it out, wondering why the hell did Williams go after his own daughter and why now, plus how did he get his men into Henry's Kingdom undetected. He knows he needs more information before doing anything, so he writes a few more letters, these for his spies in Williams' Court.
It will be a couple of days before Henry hears anything from his spies and until then, all he can do is wait and make general plans until he has more information and can plan his next steps.
Henry then remembers that he also needs to make sure that Alexis is okay. He can still see the fear in the girl's face when she realized who had taken her mother, no doubt fearing that Williams might do to her the same he did to Alexis' father.
Walking over to the window, looking out, Henry wishes he had known Bella and Alexis were coming. Maybe if he had, he could've sent some of his men to meet them at the border and escort them safely to the Castle.
He shakes his head, thinking that now all he can do is go after her, no matter what he has to do to achieve it, even if that means he will need to become the Devil one more time.
