Book 3 in the "Flying" Series. After pushing the woman he loves away, Henry has to battle with his feeling for her and questions if he has done the right thing. Meanwhile, Bella continues to refuse Alexander's advances but things are going to take a horrible turn when a diplomatic mission goes sideways. Will things ever get back to what they used to be?

18. The Dungeon

There's an annoying dripping noise coming from her left that she wishes she could make stop, making an already bad headache even worse. Bella slowly opens her eyes and looks around, quickly realizing where she is.

She has been here before, per her father's orders, and at the time she had sworn she would never be back there again. And now, there she was, in her father's dungeons, wondering what the hell is she doing there.

Bella rubs the back of her head, a persistent throb making her cringe every now and then, and realizes that her father's men must've knocked her out before carrying her there.

Her daughter comes to her mind and she says a small prayer that she managed to get away and is now safe. Although, if she had gotten caught, she would either be in the same cell as she is now or her father would already be gloating over it.

Her father. Why did he come after her after all these years and why now? It doesn't make any sense. What could he possibly want from her after all that he did? No matter how hard Bella tries, nothing will make sense until she is face to face with him.

The door to the dungeon opens and two guards walk in, carrying a tray of food. The door to her cell opens and they step inside, placing the tray across from her.

-"Where's my father?"

-"His Majesty will see you soon. Until then, we have orders to provide Your Ladyship with some food."

-"I demand to see my father."

-"We have our orders, Your Ladyship. His Majesty will see you soon."

Bella can see the hint of fear in one of the guards' eyes and decides against pushing it further. She refuses the food, thinking that her father must want something from her, otherwise he wouldn't go to such lengths just to bring her back.

She sits on the floor, leaning her head against the wall, and hopes that Alexis and the guard made it back to Henry's Castle. And if they did, that the guard managed to see her father's sigil on the men's clothes, giving away who they were and where she has been taken.

All Bella can do now is buy some time until help comes or she can find a way to escape. There's no way in hell Bella will stay in her father's Kingdom longer than she has to, so for now she will play her father's game.
