Chapter 2 The Vouivere and The Girl Name Pan
Previously
"It's Bell, Bell Cranel" Bell as he introduced himself
"Nice to meet you Mister Bell" said the child with a bright smile on her "My name is Pan" said Pan as she introduced herself
Now
"Are you okay?" Pan asked the vouivere as it kneeled and was trembling in fear, while Bell approached the vouivere. He saw how it had many bruises and a bit of blood on her. Bell then took off his cloak covered the vouivere with it.
This surprises the vouivere as it looks at Bell in surprise, as Bell is about to help her up, she flinches back in fear. This causes Bell to retract his hand.
Pan then held out her hand to the vouivere "It's going to be okay" said Pan with a bright smile. The vouivere nervously grabbed Pan hand and held her hand, Pan then helped her up.
Bell watched the interaction in surprise, as Pan helped out a monster without any fear for them. It's like Pan is never afraid of the vouivere.
"Bell-dono!" called out a voice, making the vouivere go behind Pan and Bell
"Everyone…" said Bell
From the distance, there's red-haired man with a big sword, a female garbed with samurai clothes and a katana, a small girl with a huge backpack, and a blonde-haired woman with a fox ear on her head
Seeing this caused Pan to tense up as she took a stance ready to defend more crooks
"Wait stop Pan-chan!" said Bell as he went in front of Pan stopping her from attacking his friend "They're friends!" Pan looks at Bell for a moment and looks at his friends approaching them, Pan then senses that none of them has any evil energy on them, so she decides to trust Bell's words, and she drops her stance.
"We've looking everywhere for you" said the red-haired man "When we got separated we assumed the worst, but I'm glad that you're alright"
"Acting solo on the nineteenth floor is dangerous" said the small girl
"Um… Bell-sama" the fox-girl looked behind Bell and was surprised at what she saw "Why there a child behind you?"
This surprise the rest with her question, and then they look behind Bell and saw what indeed a child
"What on earth is a child doing in the dungeon!" said the small girl in surprise and angry tone "Did someone bring their child into the dungeon or something?! Why on earth would they do that!"
"On the nineteenth floor no less," said the red-haired man, while Pan could only tilt her head in confusion
"Well, it's a bit of a story…"Bell nervously scratched his cheek, the samurai girl noticed there was someone else behind Pan and Bell
"Who is that person, Bell-dono?" asked the samurai
Bell then took a deep breath and looked at Pan and the vouivere "For now, let's go back to the eighteenth floor" said Bell as the others looked at each other in confusion.
Dungeon 18th floor
Bell and his friends with Pan and the vouivere are now on the 18th floor of the dungeon, known as Rivira, a resting point for the adventures.
"Alright Bell-sama, can you tell who's that person, and why is there a child in the dungeon?" said the small girl
"Um well, I was fighting against a firebird when I then stumbled upon Pan-chan and the girl here" explained Bell while he left out how Pan easily killed the firebird and hit Bell hard
"Pan-chan?" asked the red-haired man
"Oh" Bell then gesture Pan to the other to introduce herself "This is Pan"
Pan then with a smile introduced herself "Hello everyone my name is Pan, it's nice to meet you" said Pan as she bow in front of them
"Hey, my name is Welf" said the red-haired man
"My name is Mikoto, Pan-dono" said the samurai girl
"Haruhime, it's a pleasure to meet you Pan-chan" said the fox girl as she bows also in return
"Lili" said the small girl as she introduced herself
Pan smiles as she looks at Bell's friends, knowing they're not bad people. She then looks at the vouivere behind Bell. She then goes to the vouivere and drags her to Pan new friends
"Come on! It's okay they're not bad people" said Pan as she dragged the vouivere to Welf and the others
"Ah wait Pan-chan" called out Bell, when the vouivere accidentally trips a rock causing her to fall. Pan manage to catch her but it causes the hood on the vouivere to fall off and reveals herself to the others
"Monster!" said Lili in panic as she and Welf backed away she drew her bow gun while Welf drew his big-sword.
And Mikoto ran a grabbed Pan away from the vouivere "Hey let me go!" said Pan she struggle in Mikoto arms
"Explain Bell!" said Welf in caution
Bell stepped in front of the vouivere with his hand wide open to protect her
"Wai everyone! She's-" said Bell in panic
"Please step aside Bell-sama" said Lili as she glared at the vouivere "What on earth are you thinking?"
"Did you bring her along because she's got a pretty face" accused Lili "That would just make you some kind of monster fetishist!"
"It-it's not like-" stuttered Bell
"Bell-sama, monsters are monsters!" said Lili "They are the enemies of humanity!" this caused Bell gasped in shock
"Bell get away from there!" shouted Welf
"Bell-dono!" said Mikoto while still holding Pan while moving around to get free
"Let me go don't bully her!" said Pan as she tried to free herself from Mikoto hold
"Don't move!" said Mikoto to Pan as she holds Pan tighter
"Bell-sama" shouted Lily
Bell was right now in a pickle as he didn't know what to do when he then heard a voice from the vouivere.
"Be..ll…" said the vouivere
Bell looked at the vouivere in shock, as the monster just talked
"Bell…" said again the vouivere
"Yes. That's my name" said Bell to the vouivere
"Bell…" said the vouivere "You… Your name is Bell."
"The monster…, just spoke" said Mikoto in confusion
"I said Let Me Go!" shouted Pan as she broke free from Mikoto hold. Mikoto was in shock from the sudden strength from Pan.
Right after Pan breaks free from Mikoto she kicks Mikoto away from her and causes her flying hitting the wall. This surprises Welf and the others while Bell can only look at Pan in panic.
"Wait Pan-" called out Bell, but Pan then disappeared
"Where-?" said Welf before his sword was kicked away from Pan, and then Pan punched Welf in the stomach hard causing him to gasp and on his knee while holding his stomach in pain. Pan stands in front of Bell and the vouivere
"Don't bully Mister Bell and my friend!" said Pan angrily while she took a stance ready to protect Bell and her new friend
Lili was shocked to see a child to be able to break through Mikoto hold but also manage to hit Mikoto and Welf away
"Pan-chan wait don't attack them" said Bell in panic
"But they're about to attack her" said Pan
"P..an" said the vouivere as Pan looked at her as her name was called
"Your.. name is Pan" said the vouivere, this caused Pan to be happy as she ran towards the vouivere
"That's right" nodded Pan with a bright smile "My name is Pan, it's nice to meet you!" said Pan as she held the vouivere hands
Lili and the others beside Bell was in shock, how the little girl was not afraid of the monster, instead Pan treats the vouivere as her friend. This doesn't make sense, everyone in Oraria has a deep hatred for the monster in the dungeon. But Pan doesn't seems mind about it.
"The hell going on?" said Welf as holds his stomach in pain from the surprise attack from Pan
"I would like to know also?" said Mikoto as she joined the others, while Lily nodded want to what's going on, while Pan stand beside Bell to protect her new friend
"Bell-sama, what happened between you and her?" asked Haruhime gesturing the vouivere
Bell sighed "Like I said before I found her on the nineteenth floor along with Pan-chan"
"She was being hunted by adventurers and attacked by a monster" explained Bell "She was trembling and crying" as he looked at the vouivere scared face
"I want to help her" said Bell with determination
Lili was shocked hearing this "We cannot do that, Bell-sama!" denied Lili "If people find out we're sheltering monster, the Hestia Familia is done for!"
"Even so…" said Bell "I don't want to abandon her!"
Lili look at Bell for a moment, before she let out a sigh "Oh, just do whatever you want"
Bell then let out a sigh of relief as he and Pan started to calm down.
"I'm sorry, everyone" apologized Bell "Thank you, everyone"
"What do we do next?" asked Mikoto "Are we going to take both of them to the surface then?"
"Yes" answered Bell "In the Dungeon she'd only be attacked again"
"I see" said Mikoto "But what about Pan-chan" As she looks at Pan
"Yeah how is she that strong by the way?" said Welf "Her punch hurt like hell" as he rubbed the sore spot on his stomach
"I concur about that" agreed Mikoto as she also rubbed her sore spot from Pan kick
Bell laughed nervously "Well I didn't tell you the full story of how me and Pan-chan met"
"Bell-sama said that you saved them from the firebird right?" asked Lili
"Actually no I didn't" denied Bell "Pan-chan is the one that killed the firebird" said Bell nervously
"….eh?" everyone was in shock at Bell statement
"I was surprised also" said Bell as he also remembered how Pan kicked him hard on the stomach causing him to rub his stomach from the phantom pain
"Maybe we have enough exploring right now, how about we go back now" said Welf as she look at Pan while Pan just titled her head in confusion
"Yeah I think so too" agreed Bell "Once we get back home, I want to ask the Goddess's opinion too and also maybe we find Pan-chan parents"
"Home..?" asked Pan and the vouivere
"Yes" said Bell "Come to our house with us"
Meanwhile
Room of Prayer
"This isn't good Lord Ouranos" said a black-hooded man "A monster endowed with intelligence has made contact with an adventure, and will soon leave the Babel"
The one called Ouranos is seen sitting on a chair at the top of the flight of stairs "And who is this adventure, Fels?" asked Ouranos to the black-hooded figure who is called Fels
"Bell Cranel" answered Fels
"The Little Rookie. Hermes Favorite, is it?" said Ouranos
"What will you do?" asked Fels "For better or worse, the Hestia Familia has gained too much attention in town"
"I would like to determine, whether Hestia's family can become their hope, or not." said Ouranos while Fels nodded
"I would also like to inform you one more thing Lord Ouranos" said Fels
"What is it Fels?" asked Ouranos
"It seems that Bell Cranel also encounters a child in the dungeon" said Fels
"A child in the dungeon?" asked Ouranos while Fels nodded in confirmation "Is the child alright"
"The child is perfectly fine" said Fels "But she was an anomaly if I could say"
"Why is that?"
"That child can defeat a firebird on her own" said Fels
"Really now" said Ouranos interested
"She also shows no any hatred to the intelligent monster that Bell Cranel have met" said Fels "In fact she treats the monster as her friend"
This surprised Ouranos very much as a child shows no fear of the monster in the dungeon
"How did she end up in the dungeon in the first place?" asked Ouranos
Fels shook his head "I would like to know also, what it seems that she just appeared inside the dungeon"
"Then the child with Bell Cranel also then?" asked Ouranos
"Yes" replied Fels
"Do you perhaps know the name of the child?" asked Ouranos while Fels nod
"Her name is Pan"
