Random Training Ground, Day…

Sasuke was in a training ground where he practiced his kunai throwing. He had to get strong enough to kill his brother, Itachi Uchiha. The murderer of his clan. As he threw another kunai from his pouch, he watched it hit dead center like the last.

"Most of the kids in his class would be overjoyed at such results." Sasuke thought mockingly. "Despite myself, Hinata Hyuga, and Goku & Turles Sarutobi being people who the others in class aspire to, they're simply too weak."

As for those he named, they were his stiffest competition. Those three were strong; however, he wouldn't lower himself to making the first move. That would imply he saw himself as weaker. Given his goal, he would never admit that.

"Hey Sasuke Uchiha!" A male voice rang out.

Sasuke was snapped out of his thoughts and turned to see Goku Sarutobi approaching him. "What do you want?"

"We're in the same class at the academy; however, we haven't had the chance to spar." Goku responded with a grin. "I figured I'd look for you outside the academy, and we could spar now."

This was exactly the opportunity Sasuke wanted, so he got into a stance. "Bring it."

Goku grinned and got into his own stance before immediately dashing at Sasuke. His eyes, while not Sharingan, were still able to see Goku coming, but that was the extent of his ability to react. Sarutobi slammed a fist into Uchiha's face sending him flying.

Sasuke managed to lean back and catch the ground before using it to flip back to his feet. "You got strength and speed." He wiped his face and firmed up his expression. "Looks like I need to take you seriously."

Sasuke dashed at Goku who, in turn, rushed to meet him head on. They clashed dead center between where they had been originally standing and started going at it in a heated brawl. Goku was more aggressive. He applied pressure and worked to block what his opponent tried.

Sasuke was more defensive. He moved to dodge whatever he could and blocked the rest while taking what seemed like opportune openings. Goku was just as quick to shut those down as Sasuke shut any of his attempts down leading to a genuine stalemate.

Eventually, Sasuke attempted to garner some distance by breaking from Goku and leaping back. Sarutobi didn't give him an inch as he was immediately after him while throwing a powerful kick. Sasuke managed to just block it before leaping back further.

It was at this point that Goku decided to get a little craftier as he sped after Sasuke and reared back his fist. It was time to showcase a little Taijutsu he'd been working on. As he punched forward, Sasuke punched to counter it.

"Rock!"

Goku then quickly took too fingers and poked Sasuke in the eyes. This caused him pain and momentarily blinded the Uchiha.

"Scissors!"

Goku finished the combo by slamming an open palm into Sasuke's chest with all the might he could muster.

"Paper!"

This knocked the Uchiha into a tree, with his head banging against it, rendering him unconscious.

Few Seconds Later…

Sasuke snapped awake before looking at a grinning Goku. "I've never seen Taijutsu like that before."

"That was a good fight." Goku approached and happily held out his hand before Sasuke begrudgingly took it. "We should spar again in the future."

Sasuke couldn't have asked for this to work out any better. "Sure." Goku helped him up and he began to walk away before looking back. "Just let me know."

Sasuke then left, noting this had been an opportune moment. After all, he just gained someone strong to train with. Granted, he didn't particularly like Goku's happy demeanor, but he would put up with it if the guy could continue to put up a fight.

Park: Evening…

Sakura Haruno wasn't having a good time of it at the academy. She has fair skin, green eyes, and pink hair which she wore as bangs to cover her large forehead. That was exactly the problem. Practically since the first day, almost every other girl made fun of her for that very feature.

The main exception, that came to mind in the moment, was the Lavender Eyed Angel, Hinata Hyuga. She at least tried to get the other girls to stop; however, they always seemed insistent to the point even her words couldn't stop them for long. Now, Sakura was crying over it.

A fair-skinned girl with light blue eyes and platinum blonde hair, Ino Yamanaka, ended up finding the pink haired girl before crouching in front of her. "Hey, aren't you the one they're always teasing because you got such a big forehead?"

Sakura did her best to compose herself. "Who are you?"

"Who, me?" Ino smiled. "My name is Ino Yamanaka. Who are you?"

"My name's Sakura." Sakura sniffled.

"Huh, hello?" Ino asked. "I can't hear you, so let's try that again. Who are you?"

"My name is Sakura!" Sakura yelled.

"That's better." Ino tapped her forehead as she stood. "So, this is the famous forehead." She leaned in close. "Whoa, it is kind of big which seems to explain why you hide it with your bangs." She moved her hand to push up some of the hair.

"That's dumb. It just makes it worse. Makes you look like a sheep dog." Sakura was really trying her best to reign in the tears, but it was hard with this girl focusing on her forehead like this. "So, you're Sakura, huh?"

Sakura nodded. "Uh huh."

"Hey, I got something special for you." Ino began to walk away. "Meet me here tomorrow, okay?"

What she had the next day was a ribbon which was used to tie back Sakura's bangs. Despite the girl's weariness to leave it exposed, Ino convinced her to. This was the start of a friendship between the two.

Hokage's Mansion: Morning…

(9 Years Since Nine Tails & Janemba) (Goku & Turles 9 years old/Raditz 14 years old)

Hiruzen was within one of his rooms with Iruka Umino, who was a man with an average built, brown hair in a ponytail, dark eyes, and a scar that runs across the bridge of his nose. He wore the standard Konoha Shinobi outfit complete with forehead protector, sandals, and flak jacket.

Outside the window, the men could see the Hokage Monument which Naruto and Goku were currently defacing with paint. At the very least, the pair seemed to be having a great time as they painted to their heart's content.

"Those two are incorrigible." Hiruzen commented with a smile.

"Lord Hokage, I need a moment to process this." Iruka spoke uncertainly as Hiruzen hadn't called him here to merely watch those two. "I could handle Goku, but I don't know about Naruto."

"As you must be aware, nearly every person in the village is troubled by both boys' mischief." Hiruzen voiced. "The pair can pull quite the irksome pranks." He walked over to a cushion and took a seat. "I believe a teacher's job is to enhance each student's inherent virtues."

"Surely someone else would be a better fit." Iruka tried.

"If I cannot find someone to teach those two, I'll have no choice but to expel them." Hiruzen shut that down. "Ah, just forget it. No one will blame you for how you feel, and even if we do have to kick them out to allow the other students to have a teacher, it wouldn't be your fault."

"Please wait." Iruka declared.

"What's that?" Hiruzen smiled. "Then, you've decided to take the job?"

"Uh…well…fine." Iruka relented.

"Oh, excellent." Hiruzen beamed. "That's good to hear." He looked away slyly. "You have no idea how much good this will do those boys."

Iruka looked down at that.

Konoha Streets: Later…

Goku and Naruto had ended up being caught in the same alleyway as some drawing on a wall.

"You two will keep cleaning that graffiti until this wall is spotless!"

Two villagers watched this as Iruka happened by.

"Why does a Sarutobi even associate with him?"

"Yeah, especially one of Bardock's sons."

Turles walked past the onlooking group before grunting like his father often could. "Really?" He sighed before walking over. "I'm all for these two taking accountability, but they were just defacing the Hokage Monument." He looked at the pair. "Don't bother listening to this bozo."

Naruto and Goku shot Turles grateful smiles before booking it.

"Hey, get back here!" The man turned to Turles with a glare. "How do you think your grandfather will react to this?"

"Go ahead and tell him." Turles blew past him. "I'm sure he'll love hearing how you tried making his other grandson take accountability for graffiti that wasn't his." He looked back. "Next time, report the bigger picture rather than something minor they didn't do.

The civilian steamed at that as Turles left, and Iruka merrily stared on unsure what to make of it.

The Academy: Teacher's Lounge, Morning…

Iruka was getting his materials ready when another teacher approached him.

"Iruka, you volunteered to be Naruto and Goku's new teacher, huh?"

"That's right." Iruka looked back. "The Third Hokage asked, so I couldn't say no."

"Looks like you got the short end of the stick."

"Frankly, I'm feeling a bit lost." Iruka looked down. "I think I could give this a more certain try were it just Goku, but from what I gather, he's a package deal with Naruto."

"Those two can certainly be a handful. Listen, take my advice, you don't have to give them the same attention you do your other students?"

"What do you mean?" Iruka asked.

"Just don't make a big fuss whenever they act up." The teacher began to leave. "From my experience, troublesome students seem to vanish on their own."

Classroom

Iruka opened the door to his classroom and an eraser, that had been wedged up there, fell on the floor. Naruto stood before him.

Iruka looked past him, into the room. "Who did this?" No one owned up. "Of all the juvenile pranks."

Naruto snickered as his new teacher took a step forward, only to slip on some oil which sent him crashing to his butt. This made Naruto laugh while Goku joined in from his seat, which was next to where the blond normally sat.

"I got you." Naruto declared happily. "That eraser was a decoy, yet you totally fell for it!"

"Naruto!" Iruka angrily stood before remembering what that teacher told him. "Naruto…"

"Yeah, I know." Naruto had his hands behind his head as he moved towards the door. "Go stand in the hallway."

"No, go take your seat." Iruka voiced evenly.

Naruto mumbled to himself in agitation before taking his seat next to Goku while Iruka began class. As he taught, the two boys kept each other up since neither were the biggest fans of this work. Still, Goku knew his grandfather had his limits on the antics he'd tolerate.

Gohan was fine with, to an extent, Goku pulling pranks. Naturally, he would always ensure his grandson took accountability. As his friend, Naruto wouldn't let Goku take the fall for what they did together. One thing Gohan wouldn't tolerate was giving any less than your best in training.

That's even if he wasn't the one leading it. The older Sarutobi didn't particularly care that Goku's grades weren't the best, but he at least had to try. Naruto wasn't about to let Goku get ahead like that, so they helped each other get through the book learning.

Training Yard: Later…

The class had been brought out and gathered around Iruka. "Alright everyone, instead of just introducing yourselves, I want you to demonstrate your skills with Ninjutsu." Most of the class groaned at that. "Don't worry, you won't be graded on this.

It's merely to assess where you are, so that I may plan our lessons accordingly. Now, we'll start with the basic Clone Jutsu, and the first up shall be Sasuke Uchiha." Half the girls, Sakura included, fawned over this. "Want to give it a shot?"

"Hm, using Clone Jutsu is even easier than child's play." Sasuke commented.

Naruto crossed his arms with a frustrated look as he muttered, "Why does he always have to act so smug?"

"Alright Sasuke, give it a try." Iruka voiced.

"What a joke." Sasuke wove the hand signs. "Clone Jutsu!"

A second Sasuke appeared.

"Wow Sasuke, it's a perfect Clone Jutsu." Sakura marveled.

"Like this is anything impressive." Sasuke scoffed. "Goku, Hinata, and Turles can pull it off all the same."

He hoped if they showed as much, it would lead to this new sensei picking up the pace with their training, unlike the last one.

"He acts like this is nothing…" Naruto growled before stepping forward. "Hey, I can do the Clone Jutsu to!" He wove the hand signs. "Clone Jutsu!"

Well, what appeared wasn't completely pathetic. It was a clone of Naruto; however, he was on all fours, with nothing indicating he'd be willing to stand, and he was pale. Most of the class laughed at that.

"If the assignment was to make a clone resembling some dumb mutt, I'd say he succeeded."

"That's cruel Hibachi, but sometimes the truth does hurt."

"I don't remember either of your clones being much further along that Naruto's." Goku defended firmly.

"Yeah, that's right." Naruto added. "If you're confident, why don't you try?" Naruto added.

"Before this goes too far, just ignore those two." Iruka's words hurt Naruto and Goku. "Alright everyone, come on. We still have a class to finish."

"I personally think if anyone is going to put someone down, they should be able to back it up." Turles scoffed. "Guess you were saved by the teacher, huh Hibachi?"

His scoff had been more directed at Iruka, but he might as well mask it for Hibachi.

"Yeah right, everyone knows their clone beats Naruto's."

Most of the class left Naruto; however, Goku stayed back to pat his friend's back. He had been working hard with the blond on his Clone Jutsu, and while it's improved, it just wasn't at the level to really show it off like he tried to. They'd work on it again tonight before getting ramen.

Next Day…

When it was time to head out for hands on training, Iruka announced what they'd be working on. "Alright, today it's all about Shuriken Jutsu. First, let's have someone demonstrate." He looked at his list. "Let's see…"

Naruto, Goku, and a third boy, Kiba Inuzuka, excitedly offered themselves. Kiba had a wild appearance befitting his clan. He has messy brown hair, sharp black eyes, pronounced canine teeth, and distinctive red fang markings of the Inuzuka clan on his cheeks.

Iruka ignored them in favor of another. "Shino, you go."

Shino Aburame sported the same style as the rest of his clan, being a jacket with an upturned collar. He also has the fair skin and bushy, brown hair.

"Sensei, I'm afraid you've selected the wrong person." Shino informed. "The Shuriken Jutsu is not something the Aburame Clan practices. For all forms of warfare, we…"

"I think we get it." Turles patted his shoulder before stepping forward. "Perhaps you should have just selected someone who was actually eager to go Sensei, but since you didn't, how about exercising that now with me?"

If Turles were to label anyone in their class as his friend, he'd say it was Shino. He was rather calm, smart, and they had a similar view of nature, even if Shino was more interested in bugs. Unlike Goku, who loved to explore, Turles took in nature at a pace like Shino.

"Alright, show us the basics Turles." Iruka declared.

This is where the other half of the girls, Ino included, fawned over Turles. Unlike how Naruto had a problem with Sasuke, Goku didn't mind the fact people seemed to like his brother. He was fine with Naruto as a friend and would see where that continued to take him.

Turles took his position, withdrew three shuriken in each hand, and crossed his arms. He then uncrossed them while throwing every shuriken and perfectly nailed the log ahead of him with a straight line of the weapon in question.

"Well done, Turles." Iruka praised. "An excellent example."

"Since you're accepting volunteers, it's my go." Naruto declared.

"Hm, alright Naruto." Iruka accepted that. "Why don't you show us what you got?"

Naruto and Turles walked past one another before the former took his place at the next log. Clone Jutsu wasn't all Naruto ever focused on. He didn't remember much from his altercation with those bullies years ago since he did take a lot of hits to the head.

Beyond managing to come out on top, he remembered hurling that rock. As such, he continued to practice his throwing, rather than discarding it. Just as Turles had done, he removed six total shuriken and threw them like he had, nailing it.

"Huh." That surprised Iruka, but he marked it down. "Another great example."

Naruto grinned as he walked to the others while Iruka realized what he said. It got him thinking. Aside from the prank Naruto pulled, which Goku laughed at in a way that indicated he might have helped, the boys haven't been much of a problem.

Konoha: Evening…

Iruka had been on a walk to contemplate things for a while now, and it ultimately amounted to him plopping down on a bench with a sigh.

"Hello there." A voice called out from above.

Iruka looked up and spotted a familiar figure on a branch, Kakashi Hatake. Kakashi has spiky silver hair, which is oriented to his left, and one visible dark grey eye. The other eye was covered by his forehead protector. He also wore a lower face mask and the standard Shinobi attire.

"You know, this is my favorite spot, but I can't concentrate on my reading with all this sighing." Kakashi commented.

"Oh, I'm so sorry." Iruka stood. "I'll just go."

"Nah." Kakashi lept down. "Don't bother as I was just about to leave." He put his book away and started to walk off. "See ya." Iruka dejectedly sat back down, drawing his attention. "What's wrong? You look depressed. If you feel like talking, I'll listen."

He took a seat next to him.

"Kakashi, that's your name, right?" Iruka sighed. "The thing is, I happen to be…I'm Naruto Uzumaki's homeroom teacher."

"Really?" Kakashi questioned yet seemed to already know.

"Truth is, I don't know how to deal with that boy, and the things I'm seeing from him don't make it any easier." Iruka leaned forward. "To top it all off, he's intertwined with Goku Sarutobi. I don't know why the Hokage thought I would be right for this."

"I see." Kakashi voiced. "That's why you look lifeless." That drew Iruka's attention. "There's no spark in your eyes. After that mission I led, you were passionate about teaching generations to come, and the Hokage recognized that within you.

Now, that passion is gone. Perhaps you forgot a basic rule of teaching. You cannot open the mind of another unless you have an open mind yourself. Though, it could be there is something else you're trying to forget."

"The Nine Tails sealed within Naruto." Iruka admitted. "That beast was responsible for my parents' deaths. I'm fully aware he isn't to blame, but I can't help myself from associating him with what he contains."

"It sounds to me like you aren't fully putting the old adage of the kunai and the sealing scroll into effect." Kakashi stood. "A kunai can kill people, even those you may love, but it does nothing contained within a sealing scroll." He then waved. "Anyways, so long."

Kakashi walked off leaving Iruka with even more to think over.

Naruto's Apartment: Morning…

Iruka decided to speak with Naruto before he headed to the academy. After ringing the doorbell, the blond answered. He looked at the Shinobi with a critical, mistrustful eye, yet there seemed to be a willingness to somewhat listen.

"What do you want?" Naruto asked.

"I was hoping we could talk Naruto." Iruka voiced. "Teacher to student."

"You're only a teacher when it's convenient for you." Naruto declared, frustrated, making Iruka take a step back. "You don't get it. At the end of the day, you treat me the same way most of the village does. I can count on one hand the number of people who support me."

The rest seem content to leave me out. It's clear who cares about me and who doesn't. You made it obvious you don't. You even went onto ignore Goku just like the last teacher did when he doesn't deserve that. Not with how he's always stuck by my side."

Iruka looked at Naruto, wide eyed, as he processed everything, from what he heard just now to his observations and conversations with others. He was soon snapped out of his thoughts by feeling something was off and spotting a certain someone around the corner.

"You're right Naruto." Iruka frowned. "I haven't been the teacher I want to be nor the teacher either of you need." He looked determined as he came to a resolution. "That ends now." He looked at the corner. "Goku, get out here."

Goku chuckled nervously and rubbed the back of his head as he came out from behind the corner. He'd been coming to get Naruto, so they could walk to school together. Upon seeing Iruka, he decided to hang back.

"I'm sorry to both of you." Iruka nodded. "From now on, I'll be the teacher you both deserve. One that is more honest and upfront. To make up for my bad attitude, I'll treat both of you to a meal of your choice after school today."

Naruto and Goku shared a look before ultimately deciding he seemed sincere.

The boys smiled. "All we can eat at Ichiraku!"

"You got it." Iruka accepted before walking off. "I'll see you both at school and get ready because I'm about to be harder on you two than ever."

"Gee, maybe we don't actually want to go anymore." Naruto muttered to his friend.

"I don't know, I like the sound of a challenge." Goku laughed. "Besides, we got ramen to look forward to."

"Eh, fair point." Naruto admitted.

Academy: Few Days Later…

As Iruka was teaching the class about Taijutsu, a certain student was rather bored.

"What a drag." Shikamaru Nara muttered.

Shikamaru has narrow brown eyes and shoulder length black hair tied in a spiky ponytail. His friend, Choji Akimichi, slumbered next to him. Like other Akimichi, he has a rotund build and markings on his cheeks in the form of swirls. His spiky, light brown hair stuck upwards.

The Nara ultimately flicked a pencil carelessly, and it ended up hitting Choji. "Huh, what?" He looked around, only for his friend to snicker. "SHIKAMARU!"

He began throwing things, which Shikamaru dodged, causing them to sail over to the seats across the aisle. That happened to be where Naruto and Goku sat. The former took a scroll to the face. He was knocked down allowing the following notebook to hit Goku in the chest.

"Stop throwing your things over here!" Naruto complained as he got up.

"Yeah, it's hard enough to pay attention as is." Goku added.

They each threw the items back, nailing Choji in the torso area and knocking him out of his seat. All of this caught the attention of Iruka who wasn't too happy at what had been happening. Unfortunately for Naruto and Goku, he'd been serious about being a better teacher.

"Hey, we're in class." Iruka stated sternly. "You're supposed to be learning. Naruto, Shikamaru, Goku, and Choji, go stand in the hallway."

"What!?" The four complained.

"No whats!" Iruka retorted. "Hallway!"

"Yes sir." The boys relented.

Hallway

The four boys stood in a line outside the classroom.

"Ah, this stinks." Naruto groaned.

"Uhm, hey." Choji spoke up feeling bad that the thing between him and Shikamaru ended up roping these two in. "I got some snacks. You guys wants some?"

"I'd love some snacks." Goku declared.

The easiest way to make Goku forgive and forget was with food.

"Totally." Naruto was much the same in that regard. "I'll have some."

Shikamaru merely smiled.

Later…

Iruka walked out of the classroom. "Alright you four, have you given some thought to how you behaved?" He turned and saw all four of them were snoozing while standing. "Good grief you guys." He sighed. "Really?"

It soon turned into a smile, and he yelled to jostle them awake. It certainly worked as they screamed in terror making Iruka laugh.

"Iruka Sensei, you really scared us." Naruto declared.

"I'll get you back for this." Shikamaru commented.

"What happened?" Choji asked.

"Sensei happened." Goku responded.

Konoha: Evening…

Goku and Naruto kind of ended up leaving the academy with Shikamaru and Choji. None of them really said anything, but they just agreed to head into Konoha together. It was like their brief experience in the hall sort of brought this on.

"Hey look, isn't Ino approaching your brother Goku?" Shikamaru pointed out.

"Oh yeah, I guess so." Goku voiced.

"Hey Turles, I remember you entered my family's shop the other day and stared at these flowers for a bit before leaving." Ino held it out to him with a blush. "I figured you might have wanted one."

"You got me a flower from your shop because I looked at it." Turles did take it, though he was confused. "I mean, it was a nice-looking flower."

Granted, Turles did like observing nature, but he never really considered bringing some home.

"What a drag." Shikamaru's voice rang out.

"Forget that/Nope, no way." Naruto/Choji declared. "No girls for me."

Goku just shrugged since he didn't really have an opinion, but that seemed to garner him just as much ire from Ino as the other three. She turned towards them prompting the four boys to run before she chased them.

Turles looked from the retreating girl to the flower before muttering, "What a weird girl."

He shrugged but didn't discard the flower as he moved on.

Night…

It took a lot of running, but the boys eventually managed to lose Ino. They were now panting and recovering. Goku was all for a fight, but the wrath of a lady like that? Count him out.

"That Ino…is terrifying…when mad." Shikamaru panted. "What a drag."

"How can…Turles deal…with that?" Choji asked. "Goku?"

"Beats me." Goku responded.

"Maybe he's…mastered how…to not…make her mad." Naruto reasoned.

This chapter pretty much establishes everything I want in as far as the academy is concerned. I will say that while the class obviously has other students, it'd be boring to just give the dead last position to one of them. Ultimately, I'd see Kiba and Naruto being in contention for that, with the former just edging out the later with a few points. Probably in Ninjutsu if we're being honest. Most of this chapter was based around the Rookie Instructor Iruka filler.

Given the things that changed, there was a lot more self-reflection and less opportunity for Iruka to be how he was. With the fact that Naruto isn't as keen to seek acceptance from the bullies, he has Goku as a friend, this led to Naruto being more willing to listen at his apartment. As for those enemy Shinobi, just imagine Kakashi was dispatched. Next chapter, it's the start of the series proper.

Note: If you're wondering why Hinata isn't interacting with Naruto here, it's down to the fact that Hiashi is still hesitant in having his daughter interact with him. Even though Hinata has made a lot of progress, far more than her canon self had, Naruto isn't doing himself many favors. Granted, he doesn't know any of this as that fight he had back then is hazy now. Still, the fact stands Hinata is mostly cordial with him at this point.

GojiraSerizawa: Thank you. Right now, it may not seem like there's much of a change in how competent Naruto is, but hopefully this chapter indicates he'll have a more solid foundation out of the academy. I don't just want to go around giving out things right at the beginning, just like that. When it comes to giving out new Jutsu like that, I have plans. Expect him to actually know a wind Jutsu before the Chunin Exams. As for the cosmology, this is set within the Naruto world.

That means, as far as we know, the Otsutsuki are the only aliens out there. I'll keep that recommendation in mind. When it comes to copying Jutsu, I certainly will. With Goku around, coupled with Hinata being stronger and Turles being there, he has more people to messure himself against. Hence, taking more advantage of his inherent abilities than in canon. As for the boys weapons, I have an idea. I set the ground rules chapter 1, no deviation. Sorry.

Guest: Not sure how I can help you there, sorry.

NBATazuji: I know right. I mean, other blended stories have to be there, but I haven't seen them either. Don't worry, this is the only academy chapter and I personally feel it'd merely reiterate things I've already put down her. Next chapter is the start of the series proper. As for Vegeta being in Otogakure, I honestly hadn't considered that, yet should have...all things considered. It is absolutely perfect, and I know exactly where to put him. When it comes to characters, I got you.

Though do remember, it will take a little time to start getting into the truly well-rounded side of things. Hopefully the brief showings in this chapter are a good indication that I came going towards that. As for some character stats at the end of serious arcs, it seems doable. I'll give the first one at the end of the Land of Waves. That way I only really have to give them to a smaller list of characters before getting into the long list coming in the Chunin Exams stuff.
