The commotion out on the corridors outside of the dungeon is what wakes Bella the next morning. She stands up and walks over to the entrance of her cell, just as the door to the dungeon opens and three guards walk in, headed for her cell, one of them carrying shackles.
Bella steps away from the bars, as she watches the men coming to a stop in front of her cell, one opening it and entering.
-"What's going on?"
-"We're taking you to see His Majesty."
-"If I'm seeing my father, then why do you have shackles with you?"
The guards go silent, two of them stepping closer to her and placing the shackles around her wrists. Bella has a bad feeling about all of this, but before she can convince them to tell her something, she hears heavy and hurried footsteps heading her way.
Her father steps into view, ordering the guards to leave, rage written all over his face. The guards quickly obey, not wanting to risk becoming the targets of his rage, leaving them alone.
It came out of nowhere. Logan strikes her unexpectedly, making Bella lose her balance and fall.
-"How long have you been wanting to do that?" - Bella looks up at him, a hand-print on her cheek.
-"WHERE IS MY SON?"
-"I'll never tell you." - Bella smiles and stands up, coming face to face with her father.
-"Tell me where he is or I swear to God I'll kill you right now." - He hits her again.
-"Ethan is safe and he will continue that way, far away from you."
-"I always knew you were a traitor, but this just confirms it. If anything happens to him, I'll make you suffer in ways you can't even imagine."
-"You will never touch Ethan. He is safe and far from your reach. I would never harm my brother, despite what you might have told people. He is just a child that has the bad luck of having you for a father. I won't let you to him what you did to me and Kimberly."
At her words, Logan punches Bella in the stomach, telling her that he is sure that a few bruises won't matter in the long run, before pushing her to the ground and beating her up.
Between punches and kicks, all that Bella can think is that Ethan is safe. Logan can do whatever he wants to her, she will never let him get anywhere near him or anyone from her family for that matter.
Eventually, Logan stops, catching his breath before talking again.
-"You should thank your lucky stars that you are more valuable to me alive than dead. Guards!"
The guards appear at the command, ready to take her wherever their King commands.
Bella is dragged out of the dungeon, bloodied and with bruises already starting to form, and into the main Courtyard. She is blinded by the sunlight, but once her eyes adjust, Bella realizes that the time came for them to go to war.
