When All Was Lost...
Chapter Fifty-One

The building towered before them...
It loomed heavily...drowning in its dark essence of all the horrendous things going on within that still, the outside world remains oblivious to...
Akarii's hard beat loudly...and hard. Pulsating against her chest as she took in long, slow, deep, and steady breaths.
"Akarii...are you okay?" Yusei asked her softly, a look of concern written on his face.
"Yeah..." she responded softly...before falling silently once again.
"No...?" she sighed, "I don't know..."
Yusei's concern only grew, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder and giving it a warm squeeze.
"It's okay, Akarii." he said softly, "After all...you've escaped this place once before already..." he stated, " I know you can do it again."
"Yeah except you don't understand how difficult it was to do the first time..." she admitted, "They probably upped the security since then." she stated, "I'm an escapee, Yusei, a traitor." she sighs, "They're gonna be on high alert for me now..."
"Maybe so..." said Yusei, "But you have one other advantage now that you didn't have then-" he stated, "You have me with you...and I won't let them capture you twice."
"Yusei..."
He smiled.
"Trust in me, Akarii." he said softly, "I will protect you...I won't let anything bad happen to you...and I will bring you back home with me..." he smiled, "Back home to Crow...just like you promised."
She smiled.
"Now come on." he said with with affirmation, "...Let's go help Akiza."

Little did Akarii know...
That the woman she had helped before...Carly Carmine...never made it out when Akarii rescued her...
She had met with Sayer...captured by him even- and defeated by him.
She wanted information...but instead...all she got was a bitter defeat and a short life- that had ended with shattered glass and a multiple story fall through a window... All left unknown to the two rats that wove between these enclosed walls in search for their friend in hopes to save her from the cold dark truth...
"Hmph...I had heard there was an intruder...and I thought my previous subject has skittered her way back to me... " he stated, "But it was only this girl again." he huffed, feeling no remorse for the the young woman's life who he had cut short in cold blood...
A woman who- unbeknownst to him, was swallowed up by the very shadows her threw her into.
The mechanical doors slid open...and in walked one of his many brainwashed lackeys to deliver the news.
"Sayer, sir, we have eyes on the one who had escaped before." he stated, "Akarii Rhodes has returned to the premises."
Sayer's eyes lit up and he turned toward his follower.
"Finally, some good news..." he grinned wickedly, "Be sure to bottle her up tight this time." he stated.
"Yes sir...as you command." the goon was soon gone, off to return to his guard duty...
But Sayer was not appeased.
"Hmph...to think that brat got the better of me and escaped..." he scoffed, "And now she has returned of her own accord?" he chuckled wickedly, "No...Being captured by guards is too good for her..." he snickered to himself, "This calls for a more personally handling...with finesse." he smirked, " I will just have to see to it myself...as it should be."

Yusei and Akarii stuck to the corners and shadows...
doing their best to remain hidden from sight from all the guards that Sayer had on command.
"You weren't kidding about them upping security around here, were you?" he whispered, "This is rediculous...where will we even begin to search for Akiza when we have eyes on every corner..." he sighed.
"Akaiza was my room mate when I stayed here..." Akarii said softly, "It's possible she may have been moved since then...but it's still worth a check...if we can just get there, then maybe-"
"Well...well...well." A familiar voice sang out from the shadows...appearing from the the shadows from behind...Sayer had stepped with heavy soles into the light...and Akarii gulped, slowly turning her head.
"Sayer..." Yusei growled.
"Yusei Fudo..." Sayer scoffed, "I gotta say I'm surprised to see you~" he hummed, "After all, I never sould have expected you to return Akarii right to me...perhaps I should extend my thanks."
"Yeah right!" Yusei huffed, "I'm not giving Akarii back to you after you kidnapped her from her home and her friends and kept her locked away for three years!" he growled, "She's back now and I'm taking her home!" he stated, "And we'll be taking Akiza too!"
"Taking Akiza too?" Sayer chuckled, "Oh...I think not..." he hummed, shifting his gaze over to Akarii clicking his tongue, "And to think that I thought I had you under wraps..." he growled, "What a fool you were to return here after having escaped...but I will have you know now that it won't be happening a second time!" he stated.
"You stay away from her!"
"Stand down, Yusei-" Akarii said coldly as she stepped infront of Sayer, "I have some unfinished bussiness with Sayer." she stated.
"But Akarii-"
"Go." she demanded, "I'll handle Sayer..." she stated, "You go look for Akiza..."
Yusei stood in stunned silence...
He wanted to argue...but he knew it was futile.
Akarii was as stubborn as they come...in fact they all were in their own rite...
Which was probably why Akarii fit right in with their group of friends.
He sighed and nodded.
"All right, Akarii...if you're sure." he said softly, "You just make sure you come back safely...you got it?"
"Understood." she nodded...and with one more fierce look from Yusei...he ran off.
Sayer wouldn't chase him...
He knew he wouldn't be able to anyway...not with Akarii in the way.
Besides...Yusei wasn't what he wanted anyway.
Sayer had enough faith in Akiza to not feel threatened...what he needed to do now was deal with Akarii Rhodes...the escapee.
`"Insolent and ungrateful little brat..." Sayer growled, "I will see to it personally that your mind is wiped clean of ever escaping me again!" he said as he readied his Duel Disk...
"DUEL!"
