-The Clones-

Clone Ness and Lucas were on a walk. Lucas wanted to go to the garden. Ness was uncomfortable but he didn't want to say no to his favorite person, so he went with him. He hoped that Lucas wouldn't go near Tabuu fountain.

As they were walking, Ness continued that they were getting close to where the bunker was. He didn't want a reminder of how bad of a person he is. He remembered tricking Lucas into going inside that bunker and getting brainwashed by Mario. It was his biggest regret. God, he's the absolute worst. He wanted to tell Lucas the truth, but he's scared. He'll never forgive him for that. Who would?

"We should go a different path," Ness said.

"Yeah, ok."

"We could go to Moonspoon cafe and eat dinner."

"Hmm. Maybe. I'm in the mood to just walk."

"Not hungry?"

"Not really."

"Yeah, I'm fine with that. Let's just go the other way. The way we're going looks boring."

"You mean the one by the fountain?"

"Yeah. That statue kind of freaks me out."

"Ok."

The two turned the other way and started walking the opposite direction of the bunker. Phew. That was a close one.

"Ness, is that you?"

Ness turned around to see his fellow clone.

Ness: "You scared me."

Sonic: "Haha! Sorry. I just finished my run."

Lucas: "Hi, Sonic."

Sonic: "Hey, Luka."

Lucas: "It's Lucas."

Sonic: "Oops. Sorry, I'm bad with names."

Ness: "Just stop by to say hi?"

Sonic: "Yeah."

Lucas: "Well it was nice seeing you."

Sonic: "See ya."

Ness: "Bye."

They watched Sonic run off.

"He really does love to run," Lucas commented.

"I don't get it. Too much stress on the legs."

"He was born to run."

"For real."

The two continued on with their daily night walk. He and Lucas went to the park where he and Leaf used to hang out. He started to feel sad. However, Lucas started talking about funny memories.

"Hey, remember when you took me to that abandoned amusement park?" Lucas smiled.

"Of course! You were scared."

"You were the scared one."

"You're the one that started saying like 'Ness, I think we should go.'"

"Well yeah! I heard something."

"Turns out it was just Sonic."

"Isn't it weird that we always bump into him?"

"A little."

"What's his deal? Is he stalking us?"

"Yeah. He's obsessed with me. It's a running theme."

"Ha! Nice pun."

"I know, I'm so funny."

The two started laughing.

"I'm so glad I'm with you," Ness rested his head on Lucas's shoulder.

"Ah!"

"Hm? Did I scare ya?"

"I just… I still can't believe this is real."

"Huh?"

"That we're dating. It doesn't feel real."

"W-what do you mean by that? Like… I'm the fake one?"

"Huh? What're you going on about? No, I'm talking about us. I still can't believe that we're a couple now."

"Oh. Haha… Sorry I misunderstood. Yeah, but you know what, I'm glad we ended up together."

"To think this entire time you were also gay."

"I know! I thought you were the straight one."

"I love you, Ness."

"You're so corny~"

"Hey! Say it back!"

"Make me."

Lucas moved causing Ness to fall on the ground.

"Hey!" Ness rubbed his head.

"Hmph!"

"Ok! Ok! I love you too!"

"Not good enough."

"Oh yeah?"

"Yeah."

"What if I…" Ness pinned Lucas on the ground and winked at him.

"N-Ness!"

"Someone's blushing."

"S-stop! We're in public."

"No one's around."

"Sonic might still be around."

"So?"

"So we shouldn't! You're the one that said we shouldn't act like this in public."

"I don't care about that anymore."

"W-what?"

Ness got off of him and laid on the grass.

"I don't care what others think," Ness admitted.

"You… You don't mind people knowing that we're a thing?"

"I'm not sure."

"We don't have to push anything."

"I know, but sometimes, I feel like kissing you even though others can see."

"I feel that way too…"

"I think it's fine right now. I don't see anyone around and it's dark. So, can we?"

"O-ok."

Ness his face closer to Lucas's. The two made out passionately. They both pulled away for air. The two stared at each other with lovey dovey eyes and cuddled each other on the grass staring at the night sky.

-Back And Ready To Attack-

Ness was taken aback. What did she say? An embarrassing secret?

"Sound fair?" Tina smiled.

"A-are you sure?"

"Yeah, sure why not."

"Why are you so chill about it?"

"Because it's about you."

"Me?"

"Yep."

"Wait, what?"

"Remember that fun day when you tried to ask me out?"

"Ugghh…" Ness buried his face in arms. "Don't remind me."

"Aww c'mon it wasn't that bad."

"Hhhhh."

"I thought it was charming."

"How? I embarrassed both of us."

"Yeah, but it was funny."

"I'm glad one of us had a good time."

"Pssh, don't be so hard on yourself."

"Hhhh."

"I was flattered."

"You were?"

"Very much so. In fact, I couldn't sleep because I kept thinking about you."

"W-what?"

"The memory kept replaying in my head. It's a bit embarrassing, but also what can I say? You're charming~"

"Y-you don't mean that."

"Yup. Although, I thought maybe you didn't want to see me because you felt embarrassed so I never brought it up."

"You thought about me?"

"All night~"

"I-I-I… B-but you looked like you wanted to get out of there."

"Well yeah, I think we both wanted to. Everyone was staring. I mean, I landed on top of you."

"Haha… Sorry. If I didn't use the chair then that wouldn't have happened."

"Hahaha! You're good! Honestly it's funny now thinking about it."

"Haha! I guess you're right."

"Well that was my embarrassing secret."

Hearing that made him feel happy. Does this mean she likes him for him? She thought he was charming before meeting the clone. Aww man, he's definitely blushing right in front of her. He also couldn't stop himself from smiling.

"So, tell me what's wrong?" She frowned.

"I honestly don't remember."

"What? No, you gotta tell me."

"I feel too happy to remember what I was sad about."

*Snickers* "You're silly."

"Haha…"

"Anyway, wanna help me clean my room?"

"Yes."

The two finished their meal and left. They were walking toward the mansion. He noticed that the sky was dark. He should really head to the bunker, but also he did trash her room. He kind of owes it to her. It'll be quick. It can't be that bad, right?

When he walked inside her room his jaw dropped. It was in shambles. Ok, maybe this might take longer than he would like.

"We don't have to make it perfect, but if you can help me throw out the tv that would be nice," She said.

"I can do that."

He picked up the tv and walked to the dumpster to throw it out. When he was done he went back to her room. She handed him more stuff to throw out and he happily did. It's the least he can do for trashing her room.

An hour goes by and a lot of progress has been made. He sent out Lucky to help. Together the two psychics were able to clean up quickly using telekinesis. She was impressed!

"Who's this little cutie," She bent down and patted Lucky's back.

"That's my friend, Lucky."

"He's so cute. When did you get a Pokemon?"

"It's a long story."

"Hmm, ok how about you tell me the story for our next cleaning session. It's getting late."

"Ok!"

"Thanks for helping me. I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Um, well I'll be busy tomorrow. But we'll see each other for sure."

"Ok, just text me."

"Right. I-I'll do that."

"Goodnight."

"Goodnight."

He waved her goodbye, but at the last second she grabbed his arm and turned him around. Without warning, she kissed him. When she pulled away she giggled and pushed him out of the room. He stood there head empty. What just happened? D-did she kiss him or was that a hallucination?

He felt so happy. A sudden surge of energy hit him and he jumped in the air screaming yes to himself. A smasher walked by and gave him the side eye. That was his que to stop.

Alright no more messing around. He needs to go to that bunker. He made his way to the garden. He checked around the area just in case anyone was around. It looks like the area is clear. He punched in the code and went inside the bunker.

He went to the area where he last saw the gun. Wait, what? Where's the gun? It's not in the glass case! He heard Mario's voice somewhere. Shit! He needs to hide. He didn't have enough time to go back to the locker, so he hid underneath a desk.

He saw a strange machine at the end of a wall turn to its side and out came Mario. He has a secret room in his secret bunker? Why is that even necessary?

Mario hummed to himself. Ness watched as Mario was on his laptop for a bit. He wasn't there for long. Once he was done, he left the bunker. Phew. That was a close one. This is going to be the last time he'll be here because coming to this place is too risky.

Ness left his hiding spot and went over to the glass case. The gun is gone. What now? Wait, the drawer underneath the glass case. There was a keyhole, but luckily Ness bought that handy dandy lock pick set. It took him longer than he expected, but he did it. He's getting the hang of this lock picking thing.

He grabbed the cube that Mickey pulled out before. It looked so pretty. The liquid inside the cube was the color of a rainbow. He shoved it in his backpack and left the bunker.

Wow, that was easier than he thought. Now it's to go to Melee Mountain to-

"So… That's what you were up to," Clone Sonic spoke.

Ness turned around and saw Clone Sonic standing next to a tree crossing his arms.

"Oh, hi! Sorry I just wanted some alone time again," Ness nervously chuckled.

"Oh really?"

"Yeah. I'm ok now. I'm gonna head back to my room. I'll see you tomorrow."

Ness turned around and started walking away. However, Clone Sonic sped in front and punched him on the stomach. It caused Ness to cough and hunch over.

"I don't buy it," Clone Sonic spat.

"Kch! W-why did you punch me?"

"I think you know why."

"What're you getting at?"

"I saw Clone Ness not too long ago. He was on his daily night walk with Lucas. In fact I just said bye to him not too long ago."

(Oh no. He figured it out.)

"I should've known you weren't dead. My mistake I guess."

"You were looking for me?"

"I was ordered to make sure you were dead. If Mario found out that the real Ness is still alive, he'll kill me."

Ness took an offensive stance. "So, you're gonna try to kill me, huh?"

"I have no choice. You'll ruin Mario's plan."

"Why are you listening to him? I know you don't want to do this. I know you want to live your own life."

"You're wrong. I love Sonic's life."

"That's not true. You're a nerd who loves books. I remember you talking about it when you first saw us. You're nothing like Sonic."

"I… Listen, I don't need you to tell me how I want to live my life."

"We don't have to fight. We can work together to bring down Mario. I know there's good in you."

"Shut up!"

"We can beat Mario together! I have a plan."

"I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT! DIE!"

Clone Sonic used his spin dash attack and ran over Ness. He felt like a thousand needles were stabbing him. He straight up tore into him. Ness was able to tank it. He got up and used PK Fire to zone him. Sonic dodged it as Ness predicted. As Sonic leaped into the air, Ness used PK Thunder to blast him. He kept using it to keep the hedgehog in the air. However, he dodged the third PK Thunder landing behind him.

Clone Sonic put his hands on the ground and donkey kicked Ness's back. It caused the psychic to fall face first on the floor. Sonic rolled up into a ball. He was going to use his homing dash attack, but Ness used PK Shield last second.

That homing dash was powerful enough to shatter it, but luckily it cushioned the blow. Ness was about to roll to the side. He threw his Pokeball in the air and Lucky used his telekinetic power to hold Sonic in the air.

Ness used PK Fire to trap him in place. He jumped up in the air and used his down air attack. Sonic felt immense pain in his head. He landed on the ground causing a mini crater around him.

"Come on, Lucky. We gotta go!" Ness motioned his Epseon to follow him.

The two started running away. However, Sonic quickly caught up to them. The hedgehog grabbed Lucky by the tail and threw him. Ness stopped in his tracks and watched his Pokemon getting thrown across the garden.

"Lucky!" Ness screamed.

"Leave your pet out of this."

Ness gritted his teeth. The two started punching each other. Sonic would get in some good kicks and vice versa. However, Sonic landed one nasty punch on Ness. He fell on the floor and struggled to get back up. Sonic put his shoe on his face and looked down on him.

"Sorry it had to be like this, man," Sonic shook his head.

"It doesn't have to be."

Sonic pressed his foot deeper onto Ness's skull. The psychic started screaming. He's trying to crack his head open. He can't let it end like this. Ness didn't know what came over him, but he slowly started lifting Sonic's foot up. The hedgehog was shocked. He jumped up in the air and went to kick him down with more force.

"PK FLASH!"

That was it. Sonic had already committed to his down air kick and Ness's most powerful move was about to connect. He… He didn't want this. His hands were shaking uncontrollably. The Clone was dissolved into nothing. He didn't just kill him. He made sure there was no trace of the clone as if he never existed. He was gone.

He panicked. He didn't think of the 40% chance of PK Flash erasing someone. He shouldn't have done that. That clone could've changed. He could've changed him. They could've worked together, but now he's gone.

"I… I'm so sorry," Ness started to cry.
