When All Was Lost...
Chapter Fifty-Four

The building was shaking...
The walls were crumbling...
And Misty's words left Akarii shaken...
But she didn't have time to linger on what she said right now.
She needs to snap Akiza out of it...
They needed to get out.
"Akaiza!" Akarii called her name and tried to shake her for her attention, "Akiza we gotta go! We can't stay here!"
"Akarii! Akiza!" Yusei's voice cut through the noise and called their names.
"Yusei!" Akarii called to him, "Yusei help me, I can't snap her out of it, We need to move!"
"What happened here!?" he asked.
"Sayer..."
Suddenly the building began to rumble and roar...and bigger pieces began to fall-
"It's too dangerous to stay here now!" said Yusei, "I'll handle Akiza- Akarii- you need to make a run for it... NOW!"
Akarii nods.. despite still shaking...she needed to move.
"Be careful Yusei...and get out safely...both of you!"
"We're right behind you Akarii!" said Yusei, "Just lead us out!"

The escape was tricky bussiness. Rubbel was falling left and right, and there were a few times where niether of them were sure if they were going to make it out...
But luckily they did...just before it all came crashing down.
"That...was a close call..." Yusei sighed, "Let's get going...we need to get Akiza seen by someone." he said softly, "It should be safe enough to stay at Blister's place...and hopefully...a doctory will be there too."
The hours that had come were all full of Chaos...
Even when things had settled down...Akarii still found no peace.
Her body still shook...her hands trembled...and gripped tightly into themselves in fists to try and cease it.
"According to the doctor...Akiza seems fine...physically anyway." he said softly, "I'm not sure what to say about mentally..." he sighed, "Blister is taking care of you now."
"Good..." she responded weakly, "That's good..."
"What about you?" he asked curiously, "Are you okay? You're covered in wounds...did you get hurt in the building as it was falling?"
"No..." she said softly, "I got these from a duel with Sayer..." she stated, "And Surprisingly enough...I'm pretty sure my mark kept me safe for the most part."
"I see..." Yusei said softly, "Akarii...I think you should still see the doctor-"
"I said I'm FINE Yusei!" she snapped, causing a startle within him.
"Okay...except...you're not."
Akarii twitched and clicked her tongue avoiding his gaze.
She couldn't lie to Yusei...it never worked.
"Akarii...please...talk to me." he said softly, "What happened?"
She was silent for a while...and she sighed...finally caving into him...and coming clean to him...about everything...from sart to finish...

"I see..." was all Yusei could say to break his stunned silence, "To think all that happened...you had so much going on...and I was none the wiser...unable to do a thing to help you..." he sighed, "And to think...you saw the Crimson Dragon too..." he blinked, "That dragon...it showed vision's of the planet's past, New Domino City, and Satellite."
"Really?" Akarii blinked curiously and looked down onto the burn on her arm.
The Dragon's eye.
What does it all mean...?
Yusei nodded.
"In one vision, Satellite was engulfed in a spider shaped blaze and crumbles into nothing..." he states, "I don't know if that's supposed to be Satellite's future...but there's no way that feeling is ever going to leave me." he shivered, "Not to mention...the other day? I actually dueled someone with the mark of the spider."
"You did!?"
Yusei nodded.
"When I won the duel...the mark disappeared...and he didn't even seem to remember what he was doing."
"It sounds like he was maybe being controlled by someone." she says softly with a heavy sigh, "Take it from someone with experience in that position..."
"Akarii..." Yusei sighed and pulled her gently against him in a warm embrace, "It's okay..." he said softly to her as he held her close, running a hand over her hair comfortingly, "You're safe now..."
"Yusei..." there's something else..." Akarii said softly.
"...What is it?" he asked curiously, "Misty...she said something to me that's got me feeling...some kind of way..."
Yusei blinked.
"Really?" he probed curiously, "What is it?"
"She apparently...knoew my brother..."
"Kai!?" Yusei blinked a few times...this information both stunned and confused him, "Really? Misty knew him?"
"And there's more..." she stated, "Misty said...that I would be seeing my brother again...very soon, apparently."
"What...!?"
"Yusei..." Akarii stammered softly, twiddling her thumbs, "Do you think...Kai actually got out of the Detention Center?" she asked, "That he didn't actually perish in there like it was believed...?"
"I'm not sure." Yusei said softly, "Considering all we found out about how corrupt it actually is in there...I'm not sure what to believe anymore...about what's true or not." he states, "But...maybe we can find out." he said.
"How?"
"Blister said he would look into whatever information he could find about Kai, right?" said Yusei, "Perhaps we can talk to him...and find out what he knows and what we can collect." he states, "And Akarii...if it turns out to be true...and Kai did manage to get out...then you can bet we'll find him...and bring him home too." he states, "You can count on that."
