Chapter 3
Moonrise And A Poke-Journey Starts
The Castle In Katolis
As everyone stared at the egg, Harrow finished getting ready and was on his way to his bedroom ready to make his last stand. On the way there he met Soren who had the king's sword in his hand. Soren then offered Harrow his sword. Harrow then took his sword and looked at it for a few seconds before sheathing it. Soren then walked by harrow as they walked to Harrow's room with a group of knights walked behind them and lights covered every inch of the walls.
As the group walked up the tower to Harrow's room, knights started to stay blocking the path up. Then as they got to his room the last of the knights split into two groups. One went out to the bacany and the other stayed by the front door. Harrow Bird then flew to his master, who was alone in his room as the last light of day faded. "This may be the end." Harrow said to his bird. His bird then just nuzzled Harrow. "Aw, who gives the best birdie kisses? Pip dose." Harrow said as he petted his bird.
Meanwhile Claudia, and Viren walked to Virens study. "But I don't understand. The switching spell will save his life. Why would he say no?" Claudia asked Viren as they reached Viren's study. "King Harrow is a principled man." Viren said to Claudia before entering the room. "You mean "stubborn"." Claudia said to Viren as she entered the room. "Watch your tongue. But, yes, he is hardheaded. Usually about the right thing, but about this… I don't know." Viren said as he put the basket down.
Claudia then looked up and saw the painting of Viren and Harrow. "You look so… happy in this portrait." Claudia said to Viren. "I was. We posed for this a few days after King Harrow's coronation. He insisted I stand next to him for the painting… because he knew I would stand by him through anything." Viren said to Claudia. "And you have." Claudia said to Viren. "So far, yes." Viren said as they looked at the painting.
"I have to stand by him through this, too. I need to be the man he once believed I was." Viren said as he picked up the basket. "What does that mean, Dad?" Claudia asked Viren. "It means there's one more thing I can do to convince him." Viren said as he started to leave. "What are you doing?" Claudia asked Viren. "If I told you, you would try to stop me." Viren said to Claudia, stopping. "So, shouldn't I just try to stop you then, even without knowing?" Claudia asked Viren crossing her arms. "Goodbye, Claudia." Viren said to Claudia before leaving her and closed the door. Claudia then turned away from the door and noticed Callum's letter on the floor. Claudia wondered why that was here, and turned to the painting that leads to the secret passage. Then she noticed the burn marks by the painting.
"Is this one of Allen's Fire Fangs?" Claudia said as she moved the painting. Claudia then went into the passageway. Claudia then snapped her fingers a few times before her hand started to glow white. Claudia held her hand right in front of her, but then the light stopped. She then banged her arm and the light was back on. Soon Claudia started to walk down the passageway.
Back with Allen, Drake, Ezran, Callum, Rayla, Kali, and the Pokemon, they were all looking at the Dragon Pirinc egg with wonder in their eyes. "This changes everything." Rayla said to everyone. "You got that right." Kali said to Rayla. "So, this is it? The egg of the Dragon Prince?" Callum asked the elves. "Yes there's no mistaking it." Kali said to Callum.
"I can't believe it. If the egg lives…" Rayla said to everyone. "Maybe it could stop the war." Callum said to everyone. "Probably." Allen said to Callum, as Rayla walked to the egg. As she did Ezran touched the egg and placed an ear on it. "He's okay in there. I can feel it." Ezran said to everyone. "Don't worry little one we got you." Drake said as he rubbed the egg.
"But how? Why wasn't it destroyed?" Callum asked everyone. "Because my father saved it." A new voice said to them. Everyone then turned to see Claudia coming down the stairs. This made Rayla draw her swords, Allen and Drake poing their staffs at her and Kali getting in front of the egg, with Callum and Ezrans on the sides of the eggs, and the Pokemon all growling at Claudia from different areas of the room.
"Claudia." Callum said to Claudia. "Callum, Ezran, Allen, Drake, get behind me, with your Pokemon. I can protect you all from these elfs." Claudia said to them as she pulled out the primal stone. "No stay right where you are. She knew about her father's crimes and we can't trust her anymore." Drake said to them. "He's right what kind of person is ok with kidnapping." Allen said to them. "They're right. You father didn't save it. He stole it." Rayla said to Claudia as Ezran picked it up.
"That's a lie!" Claudia said to Rayla. "Then, Claudia, why is it here?" Callum asked Claudia. "My father took it to protect us, Callum, so the elves and dragons couldn't use it." Claudia said to Callum. "What are you talking about? How can we use it?" Rayla asked Claudia. "And how is stealing it protecting you? It's thanks to you stealing the egg, that a war is about to start." Kali said to Claudia as she got in front of Ezran.
"Don't play dumb! You know it's a powerful weapon. One that you can use to destroy us." Claudia said to them. "It's not a weapon. It's an egg!" Rayla said to Claudia. "She's right. It's not a weapon, it's a baby. A little dragon. A creature who has barely begun to live." Drake said to Claudia. "Ezran, don't be afraid. Walk towards me, and if they moves even an inch." Claudia said to Ezran as she drew a blue symbol of thunder. "Now move out of the way." Claudia said to Kali as the symbol started to crack electricity.
As the symbol did that Rayla got ready for a fight and part of the end of Drake's staff started to glow blue, while part of the end of Allen's staff started to glow red. "Just bring that thing here." Claudia said to Ezran. "It's not a thing! It has a mother, and it needs to go back to her." Rayla said to Claudia. "Yeah this is a baby. He needs his mother just as much as she needs him." Drake said to Claudia. "They're right. It wants its mother." Ezran said to Claudia.
"Ezran, be careful." Claudia said to Ezran. Then everyone, but Claudia and Callum looked at Ezran with a smile and nodded. "Follow me." Ezran said to everyone as he started to run. "We're right behind Ezran." Drake said as he and everyone but Callum and Claudia started to run out a side door. "Don't worry, I won't hit Ez." Claudia said as she aimed the spell at the group. Callum looked at the Primal Stone.
"Fulminis- Ah!" Claudia said but was interrupted by Callum grabbing her arm. This made her spell misfire and dropped the Primal Stone. "Callum, what are you doing?" Claudia asked Callum, as he put a chain around one of her arms and she grabbed him. "The right thing. I hope." Callum said as he broke free and started to run after the others. On the way he grabbed the Primal Stone. "I'm sorry, Claudia." Callum said as he left the room. Claudia tried to go after him, but was stopped by the chain.
"Callum!" Claudia said to Callum as he ran. Claudia then tried to get the chain of her and then started to look around the shelfs that were next to her. Claudia then lit a candle and grabbed a small black box. She then grabbed a pinch of powder from the box and placed it on the candle, turning it purple. Claudia then picked up the candle and then held it to her face. Then Claudia's eyes started to glow purple and chanted a spell. She then blew the flame out and two smoke wolves came out of the candle, and went after the group. Once they were gone Claudia's eyes turned pitch black.
Callum was the first to notice the wolves. "There's something after us." Callum said to everyone. This made Rayla, Allen, Drake, Escavalier, Accelgor, and Pinky stop. "Keep running." Rayla said to everyone else. "We'll hold it back." Drake said to everyone else. "Wait, not that way." Ezran said to Callum and Kali as they and Leaf ran down a passageway. "Why not?" Callum asked Ezran as he turned to Ezran and was still running forward.
Then Kali and Leaf stopped when they realised that it was a dead-end, but Callum didn't realise it, and crashed into the wall. "Because it's a dead-end." Ezran asid to Callum. "That would have been good to know ten seconds ago." Kali said to Ezran.
Back with the others Rayla tried to slice them with her blades but all it did was turn them to smoke and then they reappeared trying to attack, biting Rayla in one of those attacks. "Crunch!" Drake and Allen said as giant white fangs came out of their staffs, and bit into the wolves, but all that did was make them scattered more before repairing. "Accelgor use Water Shuriken." Drake said to Accelgor. "Escavalier use Drill Run." Allen said to Escavalier.
"Accelgor / Escavalier." The two of them said as Accelgor threw ninja shurikens that were made out of water at one of the wolves, and Escavalier placed his lances in front of him, and started to spin turning into a drill. Then Pinky's claws turned silver and charged at the wolves. But all their attacks just went right through the wolves. They all tried to stop the wolves but nothing was working. "We can't stop them. They're just smoke. My swords pass right through." Rayla said to everyone. "Yeah and our attacks just buy us a few seconds." Drake said to everyone as they all got in front of the rest of the group.
Callum then pulled the Primal stone to his face and remembered the symbols Claudia drew earlier. "There might be something I can do, but I don't know if I can do it." Callum said to everyone. "Is this a guessing game? Just do it!" Rayla said to Callum. "Ok Yanma uses Silver Wind on my signal." Callum said to Yanma. "Yanma." Yanma said, nodding his head. Callum then held the stone in front of him and drew the breeze symbol.
"Asprio." Callum said as he started to blow a gust of wind at the wolves, Yanma took this as the signal, and fired a gust of wind with some sparkles in it at the wolves. The two winds then combined and blew the wolves apart and this time they didn't reappear. "Nice work Callum and Yanma." Allen said to Callum and Yanma. "Yeah you two did it!" Ezran said to them. "You never mentioned you were a mage." Rayla said to Callum.
"Who, me? No, I'm… I'm not really anything." Callum said to everyone. "You just did magic." Ezran said to Callum. "Yeah, that's what a mage 're a mage." Rayla said to Callum. "And you easily combined that spell with a Pokemon move. That's impressive." Drake said to Callum. "Oh. Really? Wow! I'm a mage! I'm a mage!" Callum said realising that he is a mage and yelling the last part. To which Rayla raised her arm with the wolf bite on it and placed a finger on his mouth.
"Nobody likes a loud mage." Rayla said to Callum. "Sorry. Sorry." Callum said to Rayla. "Rayla let me look at that." Kali said as she grabbed Rayla's arm. "Kali I'm fine." Rayla said to Kali. "I'm the healer here. Just let me see it." Kali said to Rayla. Kali then looked at it for a few seconds. "I'll have to heal it in the morning. You're not in any pain are you?" Kali asked Rayla. "I'm okay Kali, let's go." Rayla said to everyone. Then everyone, but Callum started to move. "Come on Mr. Mage." Allen said to Callum. "Oh right. I'm a mage." Callum said as he started to move and whispered the last part.
As the group worked their way through the passageway. Viren made his way to Harrow's room. All the knights let Viren pass but he was stopped by Soren. "So, what's in the basket? A bigger moth?" Soren said to Viren. "It's something that will protect the king when all your swords have failed." Viren said to Soren. "Uh, you… You know they can hear you, right?" Soren asked Viren. "He knows, sir." A knight said to Soren. "I am prepared to do anything to protect the king. Anything. I hope you will understand." Viren said to Soren with a sincere look in his eye. This made Soren confused.
Back with the others Ezran, Drake, Rockruff, and Accelgor were leading the way with the egg in Ezran's hands and Bait on top of the egg. "Listen, I need you to give me the egg. I have to get it to the roof, right away." Rayla said to Ezran. "What? Why?" Ezran asked Rayla. "Yeah care to fill in the rest of." Drake said to Rayla. "Just trust me." Rayla said to them.
"Right, right. That makes sense. Since we go way back. Like that one time, ten minutes ago, when you chased me through the castle trying to stab me, Allen, and Yanma? Good times?" Callum said to Rayla before doing a fake laugh and giving her a disapproving face. Allen then hit the back of Callums head. "Knock it off Callum." Allen said to Callum.
"You might not realize it, but I'm trying to help you. Any moment now, others will be arriving. Others like me." Rayla said to Callum. Callum then realized what she meant. "Assassins." Callum said to Rayla. "Oh, no." Drake said. "I need to show them the egg to stop them. Just give it to me." Rayla said to Ezran, kneeling down.
"Rayla I don't think showing them the egg will stop them." Allen said to Rayla. "What are you talking about?" Rayla asked Allen. "If they learn that the egg lives-." Allen said to Rayla, but then was stopped by Kail. "-Then the story will go that the assassin infiltrated the evil humans castle and killed the evil king and his twisted son, then returned home with the dragon prince in hand." Kali said to Rayla.
"But we have to try." Callum said to Allen and Kail. "Callum I don't think it will be that simple. Assassins in stories always have some kind of incentive, like revenge, money, or they're forced to." Allen said to Callum. As they did that Rayla and Kail looked at the bands on Rayla's arms, but no one noticed them doing that. "We can at least try." Callum said to Allen. "Fine we'll try, but I reserve the right to say I told you so." Allen said to Callum.
"We'll take you to the roof." Ezran said to everyone. "We need to move so keep up." Drake said to everyone as He and Ezran lead the way. Callum then had another smirk on his face, and again was hit in the back of the head by Allen. Kali and Rayla then looked at each other before they started to walk.
Meanwhile in Harrow's room. Harrow was looking at a picture. Then Soren let Viren in and Harrow put the picture face down on the bed. "I've given thought to what you said." Viren said to Harrow. "Oh, have you?" Harrow said as he took a set on a chair in the room and grabbed his sword. "Then why have you returned with that abomination?" Harrow asked Viren as he sharpened his sword. "Yes, I've brought the soulfang. I have a proposal. Let me explain." Viren said to Harrow. "Go on." Harrow said as he put the sword down.
"You are my king… but you are also my friend." Viren said as he took a set on the bed. "Your friend?" Harrow asked Viren. "Yes. Right now, I do not come to you as my king. I think of you... as my brother." Viren said to Harrow. "I see the problem now. It's that you believe you are special, better than everyone else, above the laws of this kingdom." Harrow said to Viren. "That's not what I was trying to say. please, listen." Viren said to Harrow with a surprised look on his face.
"Assassins are coming to murder me tonight, and you're wasting what precious time I have left." Harrow said to Viren. "No, Harrow, I-." Viren said to Harrow but was interrupted by Harrow. "Stop. How about, "No, Your Highness." In fact, let's try, "Yes, Your Highness" for a change." Harrow said to Viren with anger in his voice.
"Oh, are you sure you wouldn't prefer "Your Royal Highness"? "Your Esteemed Inimitable Majesty," perhaps?" Viren said to Harrow as he started to get made. "I have tolerated your arrogance for too long, maybe even encouraged it. But if today is my last day as king, you will know your place." Harrow said to Viren as he stood up. "And where exactly is that place?" Viren asked Harrow. "Right here. On… your… knees…" Harrow said as he pointed a finger down.
Viren didn't say anything, he just got down on his knees. "You are a servant of the kingdom of Katolis. You are a servant." Harrow said to Viren as his bird flew onto his shoulder. Then the bird started to squawk as the faces of anger grew on their faces.
Meanwhile the group then made it to one of the less defended areas of the wall with Rayla and Kali standing out in the open with everyone else and the Pokemon hiding behind some crates. "You here. I know you are." Rayla said to the area as she and Kali looked around. "Rayla and Kali. You both defied me." Runaan said as he appeared out of the shadows. "Runaan, you need to call off the mission." Rayla said to Runaan. "You've lost your mind." Runaan said to Rayla. "No she found it, you and the rest of the assassins are the ones that lost their minds." Kali said to Runaan.
"Please, listen to me. We've found something. The egg of the Dragon Prince." Rayla said to Runaan. "That's impossible." Runaan said to Rayla. "No it's not." Kali said to Runaan. "The egg wasn't destroyed, it was stolen. Their High Mage was going to use it for dark magic, but the human princes and two mages found it and they're only trying to help-." Rayla said but was interrupted by Runaan.
"No. Humans are liars. This is a trick and a trap. You're a fool, Rayla." Runaan said to Rayla. "No she's not. You're just an old racist elf that still has this illusion that all humans use dark magic and are savages. It's elves like you that cause the Great Dragons to divide our lands in two." Kali said to Runaan. "No, that's just another White Dragon lie. You're a fool just like Rayla." Runaan said to Kali. "She's not a fool." Callum said as he and Yanma moved out of cover. "And by your own words it proves that you are blinded by lies and refuse to see the truth." Allen said as he and Escavalier moved out of cover.
"Yeah what she's telling you is true." Callum said to Runaan. "You've made a terrible mistake." Runaan said to Callum as he pulled out his bow and drew an arrow. This made Allen get in front of Callum. "Ez, show him." Callum said as everyone else came out of cover. Then Runaan noticed the egg. "It's beautiful." Runaan said as he looked at the egg and lowered his weapon.
"How can we take vengeance for an act that never happened? You have to call it off." Rayla said to Runaan. "She's right if you do this then you'll be the monsters here not the humans." Kali said to Runaan. "Rayla, Kali, you two know it doesn't work that way. We bound ourselves. There's only one way to release." Runaan said to the girls as he showed the girls his bands. "Good thing I didn't bound myself." Kali said under her breath.
"Runaan, please. There has to be another way. This is a miracle, a chance for peace." Rayla said to Runaan. "The humans struck down the King of the Dragons. Justice will not be denied. Now, give me the egg." Runaan said to them. This made Rayla draw her swords. "Everyone go." Rayla said to everyone. "But-." Callum said to Rayla but was interrupted by Rayla. "Just keep it safe." Rayla said as everyone but, Allen, Escavalier, and Pinky started to run. "We stand together Rayla." Allen said to Rayla as the light of the full moon hit them.
"You betrayed us and now side with a Human. Leave or I will kill you." Runaan said as he became transparent. "Probably." Rayla said to Runaan, as she became transparent. "Time to show you that you're wrong about everything." Allen said as they all charged at each other, clinging their weapons.
Meanwhile back in the hidden laboratory Claudia was trying to figure out how to escape the chains. "Let's see, a spell to break the chain." Claudia said as she looked around the selves as she did she found the key to the chain. "Well, fun as it would be to turn the chains into snakes, I guess I'll just use the key." Claudia said as she freed herself.
Meanwhile the others were running down some stairs and made it to the courtyard. "You need to stay here, hidden." Callum said to Ezran, as he placed Ezran, the egg, Rockruff, and Bait into a cart of hay. "Keep the egg safe. I'll go talk to the king." Callum said to everyone. "Callum, why don't you just call him "Dad"? Ezran asked Callum sticking his head out of the hay. "Because he's the king. And I'm his stepson." Callum said to Ezran. "I think he would want you to. If you wanted to." Ezran said to Callum.
"Callum, he may not be your father by blood, but he still loves you." Drake said to Callum. "I don't know about that. Be right back." Callum said to them as he left with Yanma following him. "Well I'll stay here." Kali said to Drake. "I would like to go with Callum, but I can't leave you alone with Ezran." Drake said to Kali. "What you don't trust me?" Kali asked Drake. "No, at least not yet." Drake said to Kali. "Good." Kali said as she and Leaf headed into the hay. Followed by Drake and Accelgor.
It took Callum a minute to reach Harrow's room, but Soren stopped him. "Whoa, slow down there, step-prince. The king's pretty busy right now. Trying not to, you know, die and stuff." Soren said to Callum. "You're not stopping me." Callum said to Soren as he walked past Soren. But then Viren came out of Harrow's room. "You should not be here." Viren said to Callum.
Meanwhile Runaan was trying to attack everyone, but Rayla was blocking his blades, but Runaan was able to dodge all the attacks that Allen, Escavalier, and Pinky. It was easy because Allen, Escavalier, and Pinky had no idea where Runaan was " You're better than this." Runaan said to Rayla. "No, not really. You've had about 20 years more training." Rayla said to Runaan. "Not your fighting skills. I mean you Character." Runaan said to Rayla.
"Fire Fang." Allen said as he fired a Fire Fang at the direction of Runaan's right leg. Rayla saw the Fire Fang coming and jumped out of the way, just in time for the attack.
"Rayla you ok?" Allen asked Rayla as he, Escavalier and Pinky made their way to Rayla. "Look out." Rayla said to them as she pushed them out of the way of some arrows. After missing them Runaan turned his bow into swords and charged at them. "You saw the egg. There's no need for vengeance tonight." Rayla said as she and Runaan went after each other. Allen, Escavalier, and Pinky, tried to help Rayla by grabbing Runaan, but he was able to get them off him, throwing them to Rayla's feet.
As they got up, Rayla then looked up at the tower where Harrow's room was for a second, and Runaan noticed this and looked at the tower. "You're just trying to stall me." Runaan said to Rayla. "Interesting theory. Care to discuss?" Rayla asked Runaan as she used one of her swords as a cane. "I'll have you know that I can make a compelling argument." Allen said to Runaan.
"Teaming up with humans and monsters. Your justice will come later." Runaan said to Rayla. "What does a fool like you know about justice? The truth is that you're afraid, afraid of being wrong, of change, and of accepting the fact that you are no different from the humans you hate." Allen said to Runaan. "Another lie from a human." Runaan said as he left. "No, wait!" Rayla said to Runaan. "Rayla, take Escavalier, and Gligar and go find the others. I'm going after him." Allen said to Rayla as he went after Runaan. "Wait who Gligar?" Rayla asked Allen as he left.
Back at the Doors to Harrow's room. "I know what you did. You stole the egg of the Dragon Prince. We found it, and we're keeping it safe." Callum said to Viren. "We?" Viren asked Callum. "The king will have you in shackles when he finds out about this." Callum said to Viren. "What makes you so sure he doesn't already know? Grab him." Viren said to Callum and Soren.
"But he's the Prince." Soren said to Viren. "Do it!" Viren said to Soren. Soren watched with worry as two of the knights grabbed Callum and two other knights grabbed Yanma. "Now, tell me. Where is the egg?" Viren asked Callum. "I'll call out. I'll scream." Callum said to Viren. "Go ahead." Viren said as he pulled out a dead paw and started to chat a spell. Then the paw became a phantom and then reached down into Callum's throat and pulled out a light ball. Viren then placed the ball in his hands
Callum tried to talk but his voice was gone. Yanma tried to break free and attack Viren, but the knights holding him forced him to the ground. Callum tried to call for help but nothing happened.
Rayla, Escavalier, and Pinky, worked their way through the castle looking for the rest of the group, staying out of sight of the guards. Then as they pass a hay cart then notice a glew. Rayla then realised what it was and opened the hay to reveal everyone but Callum, Yanma, Allen, hiding in there. With Drake trying to cover the light that Bait was making. "This one's not so good at hiding." Rayla said to the group. "Tell us something we don't know." Drake said to Rayla. "Yeah we keep telling him that." Ezran said to Rayla.
"Uh, where's your brother and his creature?" Rayla asked them. "Pokemon! And where do you think?" Drake said to Rayla. "He went up to the tower to see our dad." Ezran said to Rayla. Rayla then looked at the tower where Harrow's room was. "Oh, no. that's the last place he should be right now." Rayla said to everyone.
Meanwhile Runaan was about to enter the tower but Allen stopped him. "You again?" Runaan said to Allen. "I won't let you take my friend's father's life." Allen said to Runaan. "Brave for human skum. Tell me before I kill you, tell me who you are." Runaan said to Allen. "My name is Allen Fischer, A pokemon trainer from another world." Allen said to Runaan. "A human from another world. Impossible there's another world full of humans." Runaan said to Allen. "That's right." Allen said to Runaan.
"So have you come here to take over our land after you destroyed yours?" Runaan asked Allen. "What no? Our world is full of life, these are enough of everything for everyone, we don't have to fight each other." Allen said to Runaan. "You're lying. Humans are nothing more than thieves and murders. They destroy anything they touch." Runaan said to Allen. "That's a lie that you elves say to make you all feel better about the cruel actions you do. No wonder Reshiram abandoned your people." Allen said to Runaan.
"Who?" Runaan asked Allen. "Oh right you probably know him as The Great White Dragon. And I'm his champion." Allen said to Runaan, pointing his staff at Runaan. "The Great White Dragon! Impossible why would he choose a human as his champion." Runaan said to Allen. "Maybe because if you represent the best of elves then it's best if the Great White Dragon's champion isn't one that's too afraid to see the truth." Allen said to Runaan. "Enough lies prepare to die." Runaan said to Allen as the rest of the assassin joined him.
"Five vs one. Not a fair fight." Allen said to the Assassins. "Yeah for you." Runaan said to Allen. "I meant it's not fair for you all. Dragon Breath!" Allen said as he pointed his staff to the ground and fired a pulse of teal energy. The teal energy then made an explosion that sent the Assassins back and Allen into the door of the tower.
"Harrow might get mad at me, but I'm sure he'll understand. Dragon Breath!" Allen said as he fired another Dragon Breath at the top of the doorway collapsing it. "That should hold them for a while." Allen said to himself as he looked at the ruble. Then the assassins started to clear the ruble. "Or not." Allen said as he started to run up to Harrow's room.
Meanwhile, at Harrow's door, Viren was talking to Callum. "You impudent little mongrel. You were spoiled and given everything. Even decide to work with these creatures rather than dominating them. And that has left you weak and helpless. Tonight, your world is changing, and there is nothing you or anyone can-" Viren said to Callum, but was interrupted when the knights that were holding Callum, and Yanam were pushed away. "Viren, Callum what's going on around here!?" Allen asked them.
Callum tried to speak, but nothing came out. "Callum, what's wrong?" Allen asked Callum, placing his hands on Callum's shoulders. "Yanma." Yanma said to Allen as he pointed to Viren. "Viren what did you do?" Allen asked Viren. "What are you doing here, freak." Viren said to Allen. "First I'm asking the questions here and second what do you think?" Allen said as he pointed down the stairwell he came up. Then a gust of wind came and put out the torches.
"They're here." Soren said to everyone, as Allen placed both hands on his staff and Soren grabbed one of Callum's shoulders. "Looks like they got past my road block." Allen said as his staff started to glow. Then an arrow came flying out of the tunnel. "GET DOWN!" Allen yelled as he grabbed Callum and pulled them to the ground. This made the arrow mis them, but it did hit Soren in his left shoulder, leaky his armor was thick enough to take the hit and Soren was fine.
Soren then pulled out the arrow and pulled out his sword. "Defend the doors!" Soren said to all the knights who drew their swords. They all moved slowly to the tunnel. But then an assassin came out of the tunnel and started to attack then knights. Then the rest of the assassins. The rest of the knights tried to hold back the assassins, but the assassins had an upper hand. During the fight one of the knights knocked into Viren making him drop the paw letting Callum's voice go.
Once Callum's voice was back in his throat he started to cough. "Callum are you ok?" Allen asked Callum. "I'm ok?" Callum said to Allen. Then one of the assassins got to the door and was about to enter when Soren started to battle the assassin. "King Harrow." Callum yelled to Harrow as Allen noticed an assassin that was about to strike Soren in the back. "Soren look out Extrasensory." Allen said his staff started to glow purple and make an odd sound. Then the assassin that was about to attack Soren dropped his weapons and covered his ears. Soren noticed the weapons dropping and was able to strike the assassin.
"DAD!" Callum yelled, as the battle conuited, soon Soren and what's left of the knights were forced to the door by the last of the assassins. "Callum." Ezra yelled from outside. "Allen, Yanma. Where are you?" Drake yelled from outside. Allen and Callum then looked outside and saw the rest of the group looking around for them. "Guys, where are you? Callum! Allen!" Ezran said as he looked around. Callum then looked at the battle and at Ezran.
"Callum I know you want to help your dad. But your brother needs you more." Allen said to Callum. "You." Runnaan said as he noticed Allen. "Callum we got to go. Fire Fang." Allen said as he fired a fire fang at the floor making a path for them. "Callum come on." Allen said to Callum. Callum just closed his eyes and they started to run out of there. They ran as fast as they could but Callum wasn't looking where he was going and tripped falling down the stairs.. Callum then landed right in front of a dead knight. "Callum we have to keep running." Allen said as he helped Callum up and they kept running.
Soon they made it to the exit and met up with the others. "Callum. Did you talk with Dad?" Ezran asked Callum. Callum shocked his head no as the sound of swords clinking reached their ears. Callum then looked at the tower. "Say the word and I'll go back into that tower with you." Rayla said to Callum, handing him a bag. "No. it's up to us now. We have to return this egg. We have to keep it safe and carry it to Xadia." Callum said to everyone.
"And find its mother." Ezran said to everyone. "We could change things." Kali said to everyone. "We could make a difference." Rayla said to everyone. "Just the six of us." Callum said to everyone. Then bait and the Pokemon all made a sound to remind him that they're here too. "The thirteen of us." Callum said to everyone. "You forget the other ten Pokemon we have." Drake said to Callum. "All right twentythree, can we go now." Callum said to everyone. "Yep, Rayla if you would be so kind as to lead the wavy." Allen said to Rayla.
Rayla then nodded and started to move with everyone following her. They avoided some knights that were rushing to the king and made it to the castle's bridge with little trouble. But then when they made halfway Callum stopped and made everyone stop. Callum looked at the tower with a sad look on his face, and Allen noticed this. "Callum we have to keep moving."
"Callum, Allen, do you think Dad will be okay?" Ezran asked them. "I don't know Ezran." Allen said to Ezran. "He has the finest guards in the kingdom defending him." Callum said to Ezran. "Yeah. Yeah, of course." Ezran said to Callum. "We can continue this conversation later, we have to get out of here first." Drake said to everyone as they started to run again. Soon they disappeared into the woods.
As they did that the battle continued and ended with the king slain and Runaan being the only survivor of the assassins. In pain Runaan walked out of the backany and pulled out a blood red arrow. As he did that the band on his right arm turned blood red and fell off. Runaan then fell to his knees and grabbed the band and tied it around the arrow. Runaan then loaded the arrow into his bow and aimed it into the sky. "Regina Draconis!" Runaan said as he fired the arrow. Soon the arrow turned into a giant bird that's body was made out of blood red smoke and it flew into the night sky.
Then Soren as few knights came to Runaan with weapons in hand, and Soren pointed his sword at Runaan's neck. "Finish this." Runaan said to Soren, accepting his fate. "My pleasure." Soren said to Runaan, as he got ready to finish Runaan. "No. we can find more practical uses for this one. Tie him up." Claudia said to everyone one as she finally showed up. The knights then tied Runaan up and dragged him away.
Meanwhile in the woods everyone was running as fast as they could trying to get some distance between them and the castle. But then Rayla stopped and looked at the band on her right hand. Kali noticed this, and stopped and turned to Rayla, just in time to see the band turned red and fell off. Then the girls looked up and saw the blood red smoke bird, and they knew what that meant. "What's going on? Something's wrong?" Callum asked the girls.
"No, it's... We should stop and rest soon. It's a long journey to Xadia." Rayla said to everyone. "Ok then I know the perfect spot to sleep for the night, follow me." Drake said as he led the way with everyone following. But, what they didn't see was Allen go back and pick up the band. "This falling off can't be a good sign." Allen said to himself looking at the red band.
"Allen come on we get to get some sleep. We have a Pokemon Journey to start in the morning." Drake said to Allen. "Poke what?" Rayla asked them. "Well tell you in the morning." Drake said Rayla. Allen then slipped the band in his pocket before he went after the others.
