Sorry for the late post. I had to work on my other stories, pulse school and work have been taking a lot of my time. Now let's get this story started with Chapter 4.
Chapter 4
Bloodthirsty and Lies
The Woods Katolis
After walking for a bit they found a place to make camp, and then everyone started to sleep, with them laying next to each other. Well almost everyone. Rayla was still up and trying to remove the binding, on a rock near the group. She tried pulling it, biting it, but it wasn't working. "Unbind yourself! Unbind… thyself. Unbindo!" Rayla said to the binding. "Rayla knock it off, we're trying to sleep." Kali said as Rayla woke Kali up. Rayla then noticed Kali and Bait staring at her.
"Don't judge me. So what, I'm talking to my ribbon-thing? How is that any worse than talking to a… whatever it is you are? And to the creatures?" Rayla asked Kali and Bait, as Bait turned pink. "No it's just you talking a piece of fabric, nothing crazy about that." Kali said to Rayla. Then all three of them got into a sarong contest. Then Bait used his tongue and wiped his eyes, discussing Rayla. "Ugh!" Rayla said as she turned away from. "Rayla, just go to bed." Kail said as she rolled away from Rayla, and went back to sleep.
But Rayla didn't do as she was told, she just looked at the castle. Then a sad face appeared on her faces, as she looked at the castle and at Callum and Ezran. She then looked down.
Katolis
Back in Katolis Viren was leading a group of Katolis Priest that was carrying torches and Knights, that was caring Harrow's body, witch was covered by a sheet and cover in roses. Behind Viren was Opeli and Chimecho, with Soren and Claudia behind the group. As the group walked people rang bells throughout the city, and gathered around the group, with sad looks on their faces. As the group walked through the streets, Chimecho made a sad sound.
"A funeral so soon is madness. It is tradition to mourn fallen kings for seven sunsets. You're not even given him one." Opeli said to Viren with an angry look on her face. "I understand your concern, Opeli, but in a time of war, we must move forward. Besides if you really care about tradition you would have gotten rid of Chimecho." Viren said to Opeli. "Chim." Chimecho said to Opeli. "Don't worry Chimecho, I won't get rid of you." Opeli said to Chimecho, as she nuzzled Chimecho. "Chimecho." Chimecho said as she returned the nuzzle.
Then they walked to an altar, where Soren yawned. "Hey, keep your head up." Claudia said to Soren. "Ugh, sorry. Long night." Soren said to Claudia. Claudia then pulled out a leather container. "Drink this. Drake told me about this drink they have in their world. It helps them wake up in the morning. He calls it coffee. And this is my attempt at it." Claudia said to Soren, handing him the lid of her container with a small shot of coffee in it.
Soren looked at it and sniffed it, before he took a sip. "That's good!" Soren said as he had a burst of energy, and took a few more sips. A minute later everyone reached the altar, where they placed Harrow's body on top of it. "Today we woke to a devastating truth. Our king has been taken from us." Viren said to the People of Katolis. "Slain by the forces of Xadia, vile Moonshadow elves." Viren said to the People of Katolis.
"To me, he was more than a his final hours, Harrow called me… His brother." Viren said to the People of Katolis. "Wait." Opeli said to Viren. "Where are the princes? And their friends? They all need to be here." Opeli asked Viren. "The Princes… are dead. Betrayed by the strangers we let into our lives. Allen and Drake turned out to be spies of Xaida sent to destroy us." Viren said to the People of Katolis, surprising all of them.
"We cannot let Xadia's cruelty go unanswered, and let the poison of Allen and Drake spread throughout our land. We must move forward with strength, and remove the monsters that have spread unchecked in our land. Light the pyre, and get rid of that thing." Viren said to the People of Katolis, before turning to Opeli. "Chim?" Chimecho asked Opeli. Opeli then looked at Harrow's body and Chimecho. "No. These creatures are no monsters, and I will not do what you say." Opeli said to Viren, as she put out her touch, with the Priest following her example.
Viren sighed at this. "Claudia." Viren said to Claudia. Claudia then pulled out a small jar with a spider in it, and opened it, letting the spider out. The spider then moved to Claudia's palm, and she crushed it, covering her hands in glowing red goo. Claudia then chanted a dark spell, as her eyes turned purple and the goo in her hands burst into flames.
Then a fireball came out of her hands and started to jump around the torches of the altar. Then the fireball was heading for Opeli. "Chimecho!" Chimecho said as she pushed Opeli out of the way of the fireball. The fireball then landed on Harrow's body and ignited it. This made the People of Katolis gasp in fear. "When a ruler of Katolis dies, we mourn for seven days. But we are at war. Today, we must mourn sevenfold… for tonight, there will be a coronation." Viren said to the People of Katolis, with a dark look on his face.
The Woods Katolis
In the morning Callum was drawing the prime stone in his sketchbook, with Yamma still asleep next to him, and everyone but Rayla still asleep. "Callum. Callum. Hey! That's your name, right? Callum? Clem? Or was it Camel?" Rayla said to Callum, trying to get his attention. "Uh, it's Callum. I guess I was just distracted trying to draw this… Prima-ball." Callum said to Rayla as Rayla took a set next to him.
"Primal stone." Rayla said, correcting Callum. "Right. It holds the pure essence of a primal spirit inside." Callum said to Rayla. "Primal source?" Rayla said, correcting Callum, again. "Right." Callum said to Rayla. "You do know what the Six Primal sources are? Rayla asked Callum. "Uh, if I say yes, are you gonna make me name them?" Callum asked Rayla. "Ugh." Rayla said as she held out her hand, motioning for Callum to give her the book. Callum then handed Rayla the sketchbook.
"All magic in the world comes from the Primal sources. They're the original and purest forms of magical energy. The Sun, the Moon, the Stars, the Earth, the Ocean, and…" Rayla said to Callum, as she drew the Primal sources symbols just before tapping the Primal Stone. "They Sky." Callum said to Rayla. "Yes. to cast a spell, a mage needs Primal Energy. So that wind breath spell you did? You'd usually need a storm or at least a strong breeze. But with that stone, you have all the power of the Sky, any time." Rayla said to Callum.
"Wow." Callum said to Rayla. "Primal Stones are incredibly rare. they 've been sought after by the most powerful arch-mages in history. And now, somehow you have one." Rayla said as she passed Callum the book. Callum then looked at the Primal sources symbols. Callum then looked at the symbols for a few seconds. "Wait, I… I've seen these before. At the Banther Lodge. There was this little cube thing and it had these exact symbols on it." Callum said to Rayla as he got up and showed Rayla the Primal sources symbols.
"Uh, neat." Rayla said to Callum. "What if it's magic? We have to go get it. Yanma wake up." Callum said as he put the sketchbook way, and started to wake Yanma up. "Wait, what? We have real problems to worry about. Ending the war. Taking the dragon egg to Xadia. Remember?" Rayla said to Callum as she got up.
"Xadia's to the east, right? So is the lodge. It's on the way." Callum said as he started to wake to the group. "Oh, great. I'm sure it won't be crawling with humans. Humans that are looking for you and want to kill me! Yay!" Rayla said to Callum giving him a sarcastic cheer. "No, it's the winter lodge. It's been empty for months. Trust me." Callum said to Rayla. But Rayla said nothing to Callum as Yanma got up and started to fly.
"Look… Rayla. Princes are supposed to be good at things. Uh, sword fighting, leadership… riding horses. But I've always been kind of bad at, well, everything. So, when I tried that spell, I was sure I'd end up on fire or covered in spiders… that's why I asked Yanma to use Silver Wind, in case it didn't work. But it did work. And then you called me a mage and that felt… right. I… I just have this feeling that cube thing could help me." Callum said to Rayla as Ezran, Drake, Accelgor, and Rockruff started to walk up.
"Callum?" Ezran said, still half asleep. "I had a weird dream." Ezran said to Callum, as he looked at Callum. "It wasn't a dream, Ez all of that was real." Callum said to Ezran as he walked to Ezran and kneel in front of Ezran. "Are you sure? There was this giant pink hippopotamus and I pulled its ear off. Because it was made of taffy." Ezran said to Callum. "Uh… no. That… that was a dream." Callum said to Ezran. "Maybe you should have let him talk about his dream before assuming what his dream is." Drake said to Callum as he grabbed his staff.
"I thought he meant the elves, the smoke wolves, the dragon egg. I thought he was talking about that." Callum said to Drake. "Then I tried to thank the hippo for the taffy, but he couldn't hear me, because I was eating his ears." Ezran said to Drake and Callum, making them both crack a smile. "Hey, sad prince. Let's go get your cube." Rayla said to Callum. "Really?" Callum asked Rayla. "Yes. just please, no more detours, all right? Or heartfelt speeches." Rayla said to Callum. "Ok first what cube? And seconds, what about them?" Drake asked Callum and Rayla, as he pointed at Allen, Kali, Leaf, and Escavalier still asleep next to them.
"Well wake them up." Rayla said to Drake, as everyone but Allen, Kali, Leaf, and Escavalier stood, and Ezran put the egg away and put it on his back. "Ok. Allen wake up." Drake said to Allen as he pushed Allen's shoulder. But this made Allen roll and made him slammed his head into Kali's head. "Ow." Both Allen and Kail said as they woke up and started to rub their head, and open their eyes. "Uh morning gorgeous." Allen said as he and Kali locked eyes. "Pervert." Kali said as preceded to punch Allen in the face. "Ow." Allen said as he rolled away from Kali and hit Escavalier, waking Escavalier up.
"Can you two love birds finish your flirting later. We're moving." Drake said to Allen and Kail, as Allen and Kali up. "Were not flirting." Allen and Kali said to Drake. "Hey stop copying me, stop it, stop it!" Allen and Kali said to each other. "That's it." Kail said as she tackled Allen. "Stop copying me." Kail said once she was on top of Allen. "Stop copying me." Allen said as he flipped their positions. They keeped doing this for a minute.
"We don't have time for this Gothitelle come out, and stop them." Drake said as he opened one of his Pokeballs and let out a human looking Pokemon, that looked like it was wearing a black dress with white bows for buttons, pink hands with white circles at the base of the hands, and a pink face with red lips, blue eyes and what looked like black hair that was curled into four fins on the sides of it's head and white bow on top.
"Gothitelle." The Pokemon said as it's eyes glowed violet and raised a hand. Soon Allen and Kali stopped moving as a violet outline appeared on them. "What the?" Kail asked, wondering what's going on. "Oh no." Allen said knowing exactly what's going on. Soon the two of them were lifted into the air and then spun around for a few seconds. Then Gothitelle stopped spinning them and had them upside down.
"Look, we're going to travel together for some time. And I don't want our morning routine to be the two of you trying to kill each other. So either get over it or just argue. Are we clear." Drake said to Allen and Kali. "Fine." Kali and Allen said to Drake at the same time, but then they were about to argue again, but stopped when Drake gave them an evil eye. "Ok Gothitelle can you be a dear and put them down." Drake said to Gothitelle. "Gothitelle." Gothitelle said as her eyes stopped glowing and the outline on Allen and Kali disappeared, making them fall to the ground, head first.
"Ow." Kali and Allen said at the same time. "Is he always like this?" Kali asked Allen as they rubbed the back of their heads. "More or less." Allen as they got up and Leaf finally woke up. "Ok everyone let's get a move on." Callum said to everyone. "Wait where did this one come from?" Rayla asked everyone. "Why don't we tell you two everything as we walk." Drake said to Rayla and Kali. "Are you sure that's a good idea Drake?" Callum asked Drake.
"Callum as I told Allen and Kali. We are going to travel together for a while so better get used to it and start getting to know each other." Drake said to Callum. "Okay." Callum said to Drake. "Ok everyone let's start walking. That way right?" Drake asked Rayla, as he pointed east. Rayla nodded yes. "Good Accelgor, Gothitelle return." Drake said as he returned his Pokemon to their Pokeballs. "You to Escavalier." Allen said as he returned Escavalier to his Pokeball. Soon everyone started to walk towards the Banther Lodge with only Callum and Rayla knowing that.
"So what are those things? How can these creatures fit in them? Just who are you two?" Kali asked Allen and Drake, as they walked. "Were Pokemon trainers." Allen said to Kali. "Pokemon? Trainers?" Rayla said, obviously confused. "We are people that raise Pokemon like your Fomantis, and Gligar." Drake said to Rayla. "Pokemon? Formantis? Gligar? Are you talking about Pinky and Leaf?" Kali asked Drake and Allen. "First Leaf and Pinky, really? And second, yes Pokemon is what their species a whole is called. And Fomantis and Gligar are the names of their specific species." Drake said to Kali.
"So that's why you called Pinky Gligar last night." Rayla said to Allen. "Yes. You see even though there are multiple Gligar in our home world they still understand which Gligar you're talking to." Allen said to Rayla. "So you call all of Pinky's kind Gligar in… you're… world… uh?" Rayla realized what he said. "YOUR FROM ANOTHER WORLD!?" Rayla yelled at Allen and Drake. "Yeah. Oh and if you two want? You can still call Formantis and Gligar, Leaf and Pinky, if you like. Most Tariner like to call Pokemon by nicknames anyway." Drake said acting like it was no big deal.
"So there's another world out there? Are there Elves and Dragons there too?" Kali asked Allen and Drake. "Elves no, but there are Dragon types." Drake said to Kali. "Dragon type?" Rayla asked Allen and Drake. "You see here, your powers come from The Sun, the Moon, the Stars, the Earth, the Ocean, and the sky. While Pokemon are connected to the 18 primal plates. These plates are Bug, Dark, Dragon, Electric, Fairy, Fighting, Fire, Flying, Ghost, Grass, Ground, Ice, Normal, Poison, Psychic, Rock, Steel, and Water." Allen said to Kali and Rayla.
"You have Bug as a source?" Rayla asked Allen and Drake. "Yes. you see Pokemon are connected to nature. Each having their own roles in the world. Some help things grow, some become obstacles for other Pokemon to overcome, and some just live their lives making the world a little better bit by bit." Drake said to Ralya. "Pokemon come in many forms and sizes, they can be found everywhere you look. Living alone, in groups, or with Humans." Allen said to Rayla and Kali.
"Living with Humans? You don't force them or capture them?" Kali asked Allen and Drake. "No, while we have a few people that do that. Most People and Pokemon relationships are built on kindness, trust, or respect." Allen said to Kali. "Isn't that how you two bonded with Fomantis and Gligar?" Drake asked Kali and Rayla.
"Kind of. Back home, most Dragon and Elves don't like these creatu-, Pokemon. They think that Pokemon are dangerous and must be removed from the land. But me and by brothers and sisters in the White Dragonflight, figured out that they were not dangerous and that we could live together." Kali said but was interrupted by Allen. "Wait you're part of the White Dragonflight?" Allen asked Kali. "Yes." Kali said as she pulled out a necklace with a white dragon head with two wavy horns on its head.
"Can we get back to how you two bonded with Formantis and Gligar?" Drake asked Kali. But that still didn't change their mind. So I took the first step and sowed everyone that we could live together. I found Le-, Fomantis and became friends with her, and her friends. Soon I started to help other Elves find their Pokemon friend. After that things calmed down. And some Elves and a few Dragons started to live with the Pokemon, but we still have Elves and Dragons like Runaan that still don't trust Pokemon." Kali said Allen and Drake.
"It sounds like you don't like fighting?" Darke asked Kali. "I don't. I'm a healer. Which reminds me." Kali said to Allen and Drake, as she walked to Rayla. Then one of Klai fingers on her right hand lit up, and she drew three yellow circles and four lines going through the circles. Then Rayla's arm glowed yellow and the bite marks from last night disappeared.
"What was that?" Allen asked Kali. "It's a healing spell. I was studying to be a healer before all this." Kali said to Allen. "But are you part of a group of assassins?" Allen asked Kali. "I'm only here because when they were deciding who would go on this mission, they figured they need someone who could handle Pokemon if the team ran into any of them. And since I was matching Elves up with Pokemon, they thought I would be a good choice." Kali said to Allen.
"But how did Rayla get Gligar?" Drake asked Kali. "On the way to the castle we stopped and made came, there Rayla and the others practiced, and during that practice Rayla cut off a tree branch, and that tree branch then fell onto Gligar's head. Gligar then came charging at Rayla. Then Gligar tried to clamp onto Rayla's horns, but I stopped him." Kali said to Allen and Drake. "That sounds like something a Gligar would do." Allen said to Kali. "What do you mean?" Kali asked Allen. "It's what the Pokedex says about Gligars." Allen said to Kali. "The Poke-what?" Kali asked Allen. "This." Allen said as he pulled out his Pokedex and pointed it at Gligar.
Gligar / Fly Scorpion Pokemon / Ground + Flying Type / Gligar glides through the air without a sound as if it were sliding. This Pokemon hangs on to the face of its foe using its clawed hind legs and large pincers on its forelegs, then injects it's foe with its poison barb.
"Amazing knowledge that can read itself." Kali said as she looked at the Pokedex. "Yeah it's cool and Gligar is a girl." Allen said to Kali. "What no way?" Kali said to Allen. "Read it and weep." Allen said as he showed Kali his Pokedex. "Kali then looked at the Pokedex for a minute. "Amazing this thing can even tell you a Pokemon gender." Kali said as she continued to look at the Pokedex. "Want to hear more?" Allen asked Kali. "Yes." Kali said to Allen. "Okay, let's start with these four." Allen said as he looked up, Formantis, Accelgor, Gothitelle, and Escavalier.
Fomantis / Sickle Grass Pokemon / Grass Type / When bathed in sunlight, this Pokemon emits a pleasantly sweet scent, which causes bug Pokemon to gather around it.
Accelgor / Shell Out Pokemon / Bug Type / Discarding its shell made it nimble. To keep itself from dehydrating, it wraps its body in bands of membrane.
Escavalier / Cavalry Pokemon / Bug + Steel Type / It charges its enemies, lances at the ready. An image of one of its duels is captured in a famous painting of Escavalier clashing with Sirfetch'd.
Gothitelle / Astral Body Pokemon / Psychic Type / It has tremendous psychic power, but it dislikes conflict. It's also able to predict the future based on the movement of the stars.
"This is amazing." Kali said to Allen. "Kali, you were telling us who Rayla and Gligar became friends. After all you made it sound like they were enemies?" Drake asked Kali. "Oh right. You see after Gligar stopped. I told her that we meant now harm, and that Rayla was sorry. Then Runaan made a comment that Rayla could handle Gligar. Gligar got annoyed by Runaan's comment and then her claws turned silver and cut throw a tree." Kali said to Allen and Darke.
"I was so impressed that I wanted to spar with her, despite Runaan's protecting. After we were spared we had mutual respect and we became friends despite Runaan not liking it." Rayla said to everyone. "Amazing stories." Allen said to Rayla and Kail.
"Hey, guys? Can we-." Ezran said to everyone, but was interrupted by Rayla. "We're not stopping yet." Rayla said to Ezran. "But I'm-." Ezran said to Rayla, but was once again interrupted by Rayla. "No snacks." Rayla said to Ezran. "I was gonna say thirsty." Ezran said to Rayla, as the group stopped. "Fine. Drink this." Rayla said as she pulled out a veil of red liquid. Ezran was about to take the veil, but Callum stopped him.
"Uh, no thank you. We don't drink... that." Callum said to Rayla. "What?" Rayla asked Callum. "Blood. We don't drink blood" Callum said to Rayla. "Callum, don't be rude, Rayla is sharing her drink with us." Drake said to Callum. "I didn't mean to be rude, but uh, Rayla you can keep it." Callum said to Drake and Rayla. "Callum be quiet before you make things worse. And Rayla what is that?" Drake said to Callum, and asked Rayla.
"It's moonberry juice." Rayla said to Drake and Callum, as she handed the veil to Ezran with some anger in her voice. Ezran took the veil, and took a whiff of it before drinking it. "Is that what humans think we are? Bloodthirsty monsters?" Rayla asked Callum as she started to walk away, with everyone soone following her. "No, no, no. it… it's not that. I mean I… I have heard stories, but… but I'm sure they're just stories. Horrible, awful stories..." Callum said but was stopped when Drake hit him on the back of Callum's head. "What part of "be quiet" did you not understand?" Drake asked Callum.
"Is he always like this?" Kali asked Allen. "More or less. Depends on the person." Allen said to Kali. "How can you hang out with him?" Kali asked Allen. "What he fails in communication, he makes up for in drawings." Allen said to Kali. "Is he really that good at drawing?" Kali asked Allen. "Remind me to show you some later." Allen said to Kali. "Oh, look at that we're here." Callum said as everyone turned their heads to see a large cabin.
"Wait? What are we doing here?" Kali asked Everyone. But Rayla put a finger on Kali's lips and waved them to a tree. A few seconds later they were all hiding behind the tree in silence. "See? No winter. No humans at the winter lodge." Callum said to Rayla breaking the silence. "Let's just make this quick. Tell me where the thing is, and I'll be in and out." Rayla said to Callum. "Wait where are we? What are you going to get in there? Can someone please tell us what's going on?" Allen asked Callum and Rayla, as Callum drew a drawing.
"Okay, so this is the game room. Cube should be in there." Callum said to Rayla, as he ripped the drawing out of his book and handed it to Rayla, ignoring Allen's questions. Rayla then looked at the drawing for a second then started to move with Gligar gliding behind her. Rayla and Gligar moved through the shadows, and got closer to the Banther Lodge.
Rayla then took a good look around to see if anyone was still here and noticed an open window on the second floor. Rayla knew that was her way in and made her way to the window, jumping all over the places before reaching the window. Gligar just flew to the window. Soon Rayla and Gligar entered the Banther Lodge, through the window leaving it open.
"Like I said, no winter, no humans. Right?" Callum asked everyone. "Yeah, but it is kind of weird there's no one here… Since this is where Dad was sending us." Ezran said to Callum. "Wait? This is the Banther Lodge?" Allen asked Callum. "Yeah." Callum said to Allen. "Are you crazy we shouldn't be here." Allen said to Callum. "But there's this magic thing here, we have to get it." Callum said to Allen.
"So you risk Kali and Rayla's lives for a? I think you called it Cube?" Allen said to Callum. "Come on Allen, theirs on one here." Callum said to Allen. "What about the guards?" Allen asked Callum. "What guards?" Callum asked Allen as the sound of horns filled the air. "Those guards." Allen said to Callum, as he pointed to a group of knights on horseback coming to the Banther Lodge.
"Yeah, we probably shouldn't have come here." Callum said to everyone. "You think." Allen said to Callum. "Come on, let's go run some interference. Kali you and Formantis stay here, and Ezran put that egg away." Drake said to everyone, as they ran to the front of the logged. "Okay." Kali said to Drake as she and Formantis hid, and as Drake helped Ezran put the egg in Ezran's bag.
Soon they all got in front of the doors to the Banther Lodge, just as the knights stopped. Then one of the knights, a female with short dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, a scar under her right eye, and fair skin, wearing a full suit of armor with a large shield on her back, jumped off a horse and started to walk to the guys, with something following her. Behind her was six black ball with two legs, white eye's with blue outline on each of them, and wearing yellow armor with red horns, with the one in front having a longer horn, and each ball had two shields on the sides of their bodies, the shields where yellow circles with white circles on them, and a red spick in the middle of the shield.
The woman and the balls took a few steps forward before stopping and taking off her helmet. "Aunt Amaya?" Ezran said as they figured out who the woman was.
Amaya then threw her hement to a young man with ginger hair, that was brushed to the right side of his face that cover his ears but not his neck, the man also had blue eyes and fair skin, with lots freckles across his cheeks and noise, wearing a litter version of the armor Amaya. Then a small bird with a green body, a yellow spot on it chest, and talents, with blue wings, a pointed black tail with a ball close to the end, white feathers at the base of it's head, and a head in the shape of a music note, with pink eyes, eyelids and beck, caught the helmet in the air and then landed onto the man's right shoulder, and gave him the hement as Amaya walked to the guys.
Amaya then got close to the guys, and Drake and Allen knew what she was about to do so they took a step back. Then Amaya gave Ezran and Callum a big bear hug, probably breaking a few bones in the process. Amaya then put Ezran and Callum down, just as the man and the bird walked to them. Amaya then started to talk to the boys in Katolis sign language.
"I'm so glad you're safe. Thank you Drake and Allen for protecting them." The man said as Amaya then gave Allen and Drake a big bear hug. "No… problem... Amaya… what… are… friends… for… can… you… put… us... down…?" Allen asked Amaya, struggling to breathe. Amaya then put them down. "Thank you." Drake said as he started to perform Katolis sign language. "Aw I seen you have been practicing." The man said translaminting for Amaya sign language. "What can I say Gren is not a bad teacher, and he left me a few good books to work with." Drake said as he signed language to Amaya.
Amaya then punched the man's right arm. "So how are you four, you all been safe?" Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language. "Extremely safe! Safe and… alone." Callum said stammering and chuckling nervously. "So where did you get these Pokemon? You two didn't have them last time we met?" Drake asked as he signed language to Amaya.
"As we returned to the Breach we ran into them, and they started to follow us, we been working with them for some time." Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language. "So who are those two?" Ezran asked Amaya and Gren trying to change the topic. "The bird is a Chatot and the other one is Falinks." Allen said Ezran as he pulled out his Pokedex.
Chatot / Music Note Pokemon / Normal + Flying Type / It can learn and speak human words. If they gather, they all learn the same saying.
Falinks / Formation Pokemon / Fighting Type / The six of them work together as one Pokemon. Teamwork is also their battle strategy, and they constantly change their formation as they fight.
"Cool." Ezran said to Allen. "Cool. Cool." Chatot said to Ezran. "But how can you give Falinks orders?" Drake asked as he signed language to Amaya. "We use sound to give them commands." Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language. Amaya then knocked onto the left leg of her armor and then the Falinks moved to her left leg. "Impressive." Allen said to Amaya. With a smile Amay got up, but then she noticed something. Gren then asked Amay what in sign language. Amaya just turned her head to the window on the second floor and Gren followed her eyes.
They both then notice one of the windows open. Amaya then clapped her hands and started to walk to the door of the Banther Lodge, with Falinks following her in single file. Callum then ran in front of Amaya and Falinks. "Oh, uh, that door's locked." Callum said to Amaya, as Yanma moved next to Callum. "Yeah all the doors are locked, that's why we're outside the lodge." Drake said to Amaya. "So, uh, you wait here for a minute, couple minutes, few… however long it takes. I'll go find a key." Callum said to Amaya, as the rest of the guys made it to Amaya's side.
Amaya then picked Callum up and moved him to the side. Amaya then punched her right hand into her left hand. Then the horns of Falinks turned white and grew. Soon Amaya kicked the Banther Lodge door, at the same time Falinks rammed the door, this caused the door to break from its hinges and went flying to the other side of the room.
"That was Brick Break." Allen said as everyone but Amaya and Glen had a surprised look on their faces. "I don't believe in locks." Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language, as Amaya and Falinks walked into the lodge. "Locks. Locks. Locks." Chatot said. "With the power to break through walls with just brute force I can understand why." Allen said as they all walked into the lodge.
Rayla noticed the group walking in and started to move around the shadows with Gligar. Amaya didn't see Rayla or Gligar, but she sensed them. "Someone's here." Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language. "What? No, no. No one here but us and all your HUMAN TROOPS!" Callum said to Amaya, yelling the last part. "Callum, you know it doesn't help to yell. And why are you saying "human troops" like that?" Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language.
"Uh, what do you mean? That's how I always say "HEAVILY-ARMED HUMAN TROOPS"!" Callum said to Amaya, shouting the last part and doing a terrible job of acting casual. Amaya then started to walk again, with everyone following her. Everyone looked around, and Callum and Allen noticed Rayla and Gligar, on a beam above them, with angry looks on their faces. Callum gave them a sorry look, as Allen pretended to strangle Callum. Then Callum ran to Amaya, and knocked on her shield. Amaya then asked "what's wrong" in sign language.
"Uh, Ezran has something to tell you." Callum said as he pulled Ezran to his side. "Um, we… skipped breakfast. I'm sorry." Ezran said to Amaya. "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Allen, Drake, how did you let this happen." Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language, as Rayla and Gligar moved out of sight. "Hey we left as soon as we possibly could, and we figured that we could eat when we got here, we didn't know that we would have been trapped outside." Drake said to Amaya as he signed language to Amaya.
Soon Amaya led everyone to the kitchen, and pulled out two loaves of bread. "The food here is… Weapons-grade." Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language, as Amaya banged the bread against the counter. "Oh come on Amaya it's not that bad." Allen said as he started to swing the other loaf of bread. But then the loaf of bread slipped out of Allen's hand and broke through a window. They watched as the bread went flying through a tree. And everyone had a surprised look on their face as the tree fell down.
Meanwhile outside. Kali and Fomantis were digging themself out of the fallen tree. "What just happened?" Kali asked Fomantis. "Fomantis fo fo." Fomantis said as she pointed to a loaf of bread that was plunged into the soil like a sword. "You really think a loaf of bread did this?" Kali asked Fomantis. "Fomantis?" Fomantis said nodding yes. "That's crazy." Kali said to Fomantis.
Back in the lodge the guys took a set at the kitchen table when Amaya put the other loaf of bread onto the table, and slammed a dagger into the table. "Dig in." Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language. "Considering that this bread just broke through a window and tree I'll pass." Drake said as he signed language to Amaya. "Come on Drake it's not that bad." Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language, as Callum grabbed the bread and Allen and Ezran tried to pull the dagger out of the table.
"Aunt Amaya, why are you here?" Callum asked Amaya. "I received a messenger bird from the king yesterday." Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language, as Amaya pulled out a letter. Callum then finally realized that he lost Harrow's letter. "What's wrong?" Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language. "I just… he gave me and Allen a letter, too, but I must have dropped it somewhere." Callum said to Amaya. "Allen did you lose your letter two." Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language.
"No I still have mine. He told me that this has his biggest mistake, on it. I just haven't found the time to open it." Allen said as he pulled out his letter. "What'd your letter say?" Callum asked Amaya, as Allen put his letter away, and Amaya handed Callum her letter. "What's it say?" Drake asked Callum, as he started to help Allen and Ezran pulled the dagger out of the table. "General, the castle is under threat. Assassins have infiltrated the kingdom. Moonshadow elves." Callum said, as he read the letter. "The worst Kind." Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language.
"Do not bring your force to the castle. Your orders are to proceed immediately to the Banther Lodge. Callum and Ezran will be there. Along with Allen, Drake, and their Pokemon. Above all, see to it that my son are safe." Callum read as Allen, Drake, and Ezran gave up trying to pull out the dagger and Ezran decided to start to grind the bread against the dagger. "Wait, there's more on the back." Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language. Callum then flipped the letter.
"PS: Once their safety is assured, the boys may wish to build a dirt man." Callum read. "We do not wish to build a dirt man." Callum said to Amaya. "We do not." Ezran said to Amaya. "And for it to work it would have to be a mud man." Allen said, making Ezran and Callum look at him. "I'm just being accurate." Allen said to Ezran and Callum.
"You're safe now, boys." Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language, as Ezran finished cutting through the bread. Ezran then took a bite of the bread, and made a hard crunching sound, as he froze.
The guys spent most of the day watching as Amaya and her troops took over the lodge, from the living room, with Rayla, and Gligar still in the lodge hiding in the shadows, and Kali an Fomantis still hiding in the woods. "This is all my fault. We should have never come here." Callum said to the guys, as he sank into the coach. "Your right." Allen said to Callum, as he took a seat next to him. "You know I could use some words of encouragement." Callum said to Allen. "Yeah you could." Allen said to Callum. "Aren't you going to say those words of encouragement?" Callum asked Allen. "Nope." Allen said to Callum.
"Callum, we found Aunt Amaya. Maybe we should tell her." Ezran said to Callum. "Tell her what?" Callum asked Ezran. "What do you think?" Drake asked Callum. "About the egg… and Rayla and Kali." Ezran said to Callum. "We can't. Didn't you hear what she said? How she talked about elves? To Aunt Amaya, elves are monsters." Callum said to Ezran. "If she's the one who told you that rude comment you said to Rayla earlier, then yeah." Allen said to Callum.
"But if we just explain everything-." Ezran said to Callum, but was interrupted by Callum. "It won't work. Humans and elves don't trust each other. That won't change until we take this egg back to Xadia." Callum said to Ezran. "At least it will be a start." Drake said to Ezran and Callum. "We have to find Rayla, Kali, and their Pokemon and get out of here." Callum said to everyone. "Easier said than done. After all we are surrounded by an entire squad of soldiers." Drake said to Callum, as a worried look appeared on Ezran's face. "Ok first let's just worry about getting out of here." Allen said to everyone. "Don't worry I have a plan." Ezran said to everyone.
Meanwhile outside, Kali and Fomantis were still hiding in the woods moving from hiding space to hiding space. While Rayla and Gligar were moving around the lodge, sometimes hiding in the rafters, or outside on the roof, but always on the move. After sometime Rayla and Gligar found a room to hide in. "It's the winter lodge, Rayla. No winter, no humans." Rayla said, imitating Callum, making Gligar laugh a little. Rayla then noticed the room they were in and pulled out the drawing Callum did.
Rayla then noticed that the drawing was a perfect outline of the room. But she didn't believe it so she looked at the room and the drawing for a minute. "It's okay." Rayla said, trying not to sound impressed. "Gligar." Gligar said as she saw the drawing and was impressed by Callums drawing. Then Rayla and Gligar started to search the room looking for the cube thing Callum mentioned. After a minute of searching they found a fancy box and threw out its contents onto a nearby table with a cube and a bunch of keys in it, and the cube had Primal Source symbols on it.
"Huh." Rayla said as she looked at the cube. "Gligar?" Gligar said as she picked the cube up and started to examine it. Rayla and Gligar were so forced on the cube, that they didn't notice Amaya and Falinks senacing up behind them, lucky they noticed them just in time to dodged Amaya, and Falinks. Amaya and Falinks then smashed the table that the keys were on and turned to Rayla and Gligar, with Rayla pulling out her weapons, and the cube still in Gligar's claws.
Rayla and Gligar then charged at Amaya and Falinks at high speed, with Gligar having a white outline. But Amaya blocked Rayla with her shield and forced her back, as green energy formed a bubble around Falinks, completely stopping Gligar, then the green bubble disappeared and Falink rammed into Gligar, sending her flying, and dropping the cube. As Gligar tried to regain her balance in the air, Rayla started to attack Amaya, but Amaya blocked her attacks and was able to force Rayla to drop one of her blades, and forced Rayla to a pillar.
Amaya and Falinks then charged at Rayla, but Rayla dodged Amaya and Falinks, but Amaya did go through the pillar breaking it, making a loud crashing sound. Then Rayla and Gligar gathered in one corner of the room, as Amaya and Falinks gathered in another corner. Amaya then taunted Rayla and Gligar. "Gligar." Gligar said as she slammed her tail into the floor. Then a mound of sand started to grow right under Amaya's feet. Both trapping her and confusing her.
Rayla took this moment and gabbed the cube and hid it on her before she pounced. But Amaya's upper body wasn't buried in sand so she was able to block Rayla and send her flying into Gligar. Amaya then punched her right hand into her left and then pointed at the sand pile "Falinks." The Falinks said as they formed a circle around Amaya and used Brick Break to free Amaya.
Once Amaya was free, she and Falinks walked to Rayla, and Gligar, who started to get up. Once Amaya reached Rayla and Gligar, she grabbed Rayla and pinned her against the wall using her shield to keep her in place. At the same time Falinks rammed into Gligar again, sending her flying into the sealing. Rayla watched as Gligar came crashing down with swirls where Gligar's eyes should be.
Amaya pulled out her sword, but then the door opened revealing Gren and Chatot. "General Amaya! The princes, Allen, Drake, and their Pokemon have disappeared." Gren said to Amaya. "Disappeared. Disappeared." Chatot said to Amaya. Amaya then turned to Rayla, and seath her sword. Then with an angry face, Amaya punched Rayla, knocking her out.
Some time passed and Rayla regained continence. The first thing she noticed when she woke up was her on the floor with her hands tied to a pillar above her. And Gligar on the pillar next to her, with Gligar's claws and stinger tied up, liked her hands. Once Gligar noticed Rayla was awake the two of them started to struggle against the rope. But they stopped as Amaya walked to them, and noticed Gren, Falinks, Chatot, and a few knights in the room. "How did you do it?" Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language. "How did we do what?" Rayla asked Amaya. "We? How many of you are there?" Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language.
"Did I say "we"?" Rayla asked Amaya, not looking Amaya in the eyes. Amaya then grabbed Rayla's head, and forced Rayla to look her in the eyes. "Don't look away from me." Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language. "I just meant me and Gligar. It's just us." Rayla said to Amaya, forcing her head out of Amaya's hand. "Liar." Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language, before she walked away from Rayla.
"If there are more of them, the princes are in danger. Do not take your eyes off her, and the Pokemon. Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language. Soon Amaya, Gren, Falinks, and Chatot left the room, leaving just Rayla, Gligar, and the knights in the room. After Amaya, Gren, Falinks, and Chatot, the knights in the room started to look at Rayla's weapons, but accidently activated it. "Careful with those. Wouldn't want to lose a finger. I mean, can you imagine going through life with only four fingers?" Rayla said to the knights as she wiggled her four fingers. Then Rayla heard a faint rumbling sound.
"This is one of your weirdest ideas." Callum said to Ezran as he operated a pulley. "Weirder than snail armor?" Ezran asked Callum. "Ez, snails already have armor." Callum said to Ezran. "Then why do they keep getting smooshed?" Ezran asked Callum. "Can you two finish this argument later? We have to help Rayla and Gligar." Allen said to Callum and Ezran. "My point is, I don't know if this plan'll work." Callum said to everyone. "Do you have a better idea?" Drake asked Callum. "No." Callum said to Drake. "Then this is what we're doing." Drake said to Callum. "Don't worry. She'll know what to do." Ezran said to everyone.
Back with Rayla and Gligar. They noticed Bait and Rockruff on a small elevator that was in the wall. Then everyone noticed Bait and Rockruff, and Rayla, and Gligar released what's about to happen. "Have you met Bait and Rockruff? Say hello to my little friends." Rayla said to the knights, as Bait suddenly released a blinding light. This blinded the guards.
As they regain their eyesight, they say the rocks on Rockruff's main start to glow. Soon Rockruff fired a few stones at the knights, this sent the knights flying into some barrels. The stones also knocked Rayla's weapons out of the hands of the knight and landed them next to Rayla. Then Rockruff's fangs started to glow white and grew. Rockruff then biteed the rope holding Rayla and Gligar. "Thanks Rockruff and Bait!" Rayla said as she removed the rope still on her, and picked up her weapons.
Soon Rayla put away her weapons and started to run with Rockruff following behind her and Gligar gliding behind her. But then Bait croaked and then they all remeneder Bait, and turned around and picked him up. Then Rayla, Bait, Gligar, and Rockruff meet up with the others. "Come on!" Rayla said to the others as she gave Bait to Ezran. Soon they all started to run out of the lodge, this got the attention of all the knights in the place, both inside and outside the lodge. It wasn't long until all the knights in the lodge were chasing them.
"Head for the bridge." Drake said to everyone. But before they could reach the bridge knights appeared on it. "Well we can't go that way." Allen said as everyone stopped. "Or anywhere." Allen said as they noticed that they were surrounded by knights, with bows and swords pointed at them. "Stop right there, elf. Callum, Ezran, come here. You two Allen and Drake, and bring the Pokemon with you." Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language.
But then Kali came charging out of nowhere and tried to hit Amaya with a large stick with Fomantis having long sharp green glowing leaves for arms heading. But Amaya didn't need to turn her head to block and break Kali's stick, and for Falinks to make that green bubble again, stopping Fomantis attack. "Well that didn't go as planned." Kali said before Amaya grabbed her and threw her to the others, at the same time Falinks used Brick Break to send Fomantis flying to the feet of the others.
"Exactly what was your plan?" Allen asked Kali whispering. "I don't know." Kali whispered as she and Fomantis got up. "Got any ideas?" Drake asked everyone. "Guys, we should just tell her." Ezran said to everyone. "Boys, get away from them. I don't know why a sunfire elf is doing here but it can't be good." Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language.
Then Callum had an idea. "Wait!" Callum said to Amaya before he started to perform sign language. "Oh no." Drake said as he figured out what Callum was saying and it was going to make everyone worry. "What are you saying?" Rayla asked Callum. "He says, if we don't let you go, you'll kill them and drink their blood. And that Allen and Drake made a deal with the sunfire elf. So long as they do as she said the princes won't be harmed." Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language.
This surprised everyone, but Drake. "That the moonshadow elf is a monster, and the sunfire elf is a witch." Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language. This broke Rayla and Kali's heart, because whatever bond of friendship they had was shattered by Callum's bad idea. This also made Allen and Drake mad. "Right, so you have to let us go." Callum said acting like he made a wise choice.
"It's okay, Callum. I've salin monsters before. Do it. Take them out." Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language. Then some of the knights amined some arrows at Rayla, and Kali. Then Kali decided to roll with the lie Callum told. "You two remember our bargen and protect us." Kali said to Allen and Drake as the knights fired the arrows. "As you wish. Crunch!" Drake and Allen said as they pointed their staffs at the arrows. Then large white sharp teeth mouths appeared and crunched the arrow, stopping them.
But then more knights started to fire arrows at them. One of the arrows hit Rayla's hair catching her bread and pulling it off. "Go ahead, take another shot." Rayla said as she wrapped her blades around Ezran and Callum, cating the part Callum made for her. "Hey we had a deal." Drake said to Rayla, acting out his part. "As long as they don't fire then you have nothing to fear." Kali said to Drake. "Read my lips, all of you. The next time I swing my blade, I'll end both of them in half a second." Rayla said to Amaya, still playing her part.
"Everyone stand down, she means it." Allen said to Amaya, and her group, acting his part. Amaya decided to order her troops to stand down. "Move, humans." Rayla said to Ezran and Callum, as she still acted her part and started to push Callum, towards the river that was nearby. "You two as well, and kept these monsters under control." Kali said to Allen and Drake, as she acted her part, and started to follow Rayla. "As you wish." Drake and Allen said to Kali, acting their part and following the other's with the Pokemon following them.
"Run!" Allen and Drake said they all started to run down some stairs. "What now?" Rayla asked everyone. Then they noticed a boat. "This is our best bet on getting out of here. Everyone in the boat." Drake said to everyone. Then everyone started to get into the boat, well everyone but Rayla, and Rockruff. "Ugh I don't think a boat-" Rayla said but stopped when Allen grabbed her hand, and picked up Rockruff. "Come on!" Allen said as the three of them got on the boat. "Let's go." Drake said as Callum and Ezran started to row the boat.
"Time to get out of here Darke help me." Allen said to Drake as they passed the bridge, and put his staff into the water. "Oh I get it." Drake said as he put his staff into the water. "Everyone hold on." Allen said to everyone. "Dragon Breath!" Allen and Drake said, as their staffs fired a burst of energy, this made their rowboat into a motor boat, and they went down the river at high speed.
"If the elves realizes we followed them, she'll take the princes' lives. And as long as their lives are in danger, Allen and Drake can't act. We need to be careful." Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language, as Amay pointed to a man.
"Corvus! Starapter!" Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language as a physically fit man with dark skin and dark brown, braided hair, which is tied in a bun on the back of his head, with hazel eyes, a scare that starts at his left eye and goes up a little. A big nose, and a three-day bread. He was wearing leather armor with a few pieces of normal clothes under it, and some plate armor over some parts of it.
On the man's right shoulder was a large bird with yellow feet, back talons. A grey feathers covering its body, and long grey tail feathers with black ends. And a face with black and white feathers one it's face, and a hint of red feathers on the tip of a horn on its head, it had a yellow beck, with a black tip, and red eyes.
The man then took a few steps forward. "Track them, but stay out of sight. They don't know you're with us, so Allen and Drake won't know your coming. And when you see an opportunity, free them." Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language. Corvus and Starapter, then bowed accepting the mission. "The rest of you, ride with me." Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language, as Amaya, and everyone else started to leave. Leaving Corvus and Starapter to go on their mission.
Meanwhile with the others after a few minutes of using Dragon Breath as a motor. They stopped and let the river carry them. "That worked. I can't believe it." Callum said to everyone, but only Ezran and the Pokemon looked at Callum. The others had their backs turned to Callum and had their hoods up. "I can't believe you're such a jerk." Rayla said to Callum as she, Kali, Allen, and Drake, still not looking at Callum.
"What? What's wrong?" Callum asked them. "What do you think is wrong?" Allen asked Callum. "You called me a bloodthirsty monster. You have no idea how that feels." Rayla said to Callum. "But I don't actually believe any of that. I was just trying to scare her. I thought she'd back down." Callum said to Rayla. "So you thought that telling Amaya that Kali and Rayla was a threat to your well being was a good idea?" Drake asked Callum. "Yeah thanks to you. They tried to kill me, and Kali." Rayla said to Callum as they all finally turned to Callum.
"I'm sorry. That's not what I meant to happen." Callum said to everyone. "Not what you meant. Not what you meant! Callum, Amaya is your aunt. What did you expect would happen, when you tell your heavily armored, highly trained, aunt with a dozen troops, that you and your brother, her sister's only kids, are in danger from the mortal enemy of humans." Allen said to Callum. "I'm sorry I-." Callum said to Allen, but Allen interrupted him. "No. no talk. No noise. It's because of your rash deductions that almost got Rayla and Kali killed, and it cost us any chance of having Amaya helping us. And for what?" Allen said to Callum, as they all turned away from Callum.
But then Rayla threw the cube to Callum. "You found it?" Callum said to Rayla. "What did I just say, no talking. You're not allowed to talk until the sun is up. What is this thing any way" Allen said to Callum and asked Rayla. "It's a toy. Probably a piece from a children's game." Rayla said to Callum. "A day wasted, or lives in danger, all of it for a toy?" Kali said to everyone. "I hope it was worth it to you, putting everyone's lives in danger." Rayla said to Callum. "Callum since you're not allowed to talk. I want you to think about what you have done, and figure out a way to apologize and find me a reason not to chuge this cube into the river." Drake said to Callum.
Callum then started to examine the cube, and dropped it. The cube then landed next to Callum's primal stone with the sky symbol facing it. Then the sky symbol started to glow bright light blue. And the Pokemon, Ezran, and Callum, noticed this, while the others did not notice.
Katolis
Back at the Castle Viren was getting ready for his coronation. "It's almost time, Father. Crown time. Or, as I like to call it, the Crown Hour. Crown o'clock?" Soren said to Viren, trying to support his father. "Thank you. That will be all." Viren said to Soren, a little embrace, before walking away from Soren. This made Soren pout a little. Viren then stopped in front of a cage that held Harrow's pet bird. "No song for the occasion? Hmm?" Viren asked the bird. The bird made no sound. Soon Viren walked away.
A minute later Viren appeared before the people of Katolis. "People of Katolis, King Harrow's death has wounded us deeply, but the loss of his sons, our princes, by the hands of those we let into our lives, is a great injustice. By taking the heirs to the throne, our enemies and traitors sought to leave us without a leader, and monsters ravishing our lands. It would disgrace Harrow's memory to allow the kingdom he loved to be lost in darkness. Though it is a heavy burden, I will humbly take up the battle in Harrow's name. I will become Lord Protector of the realm." Viren said to the people of Katolis.
This made the people of Katolis talk to one another, some were okay with the idea, some didn't, and most were just confused. After a few seconds Viren turned to Opeli who didn't have Chimecho with her, and the crown in her hands. Virne then kneeled in front of Opeli and with a disgusted look on Opeli's face, Opeli was about to put the crown on Viren's head, but stopped when the sound of horns filled the air.
"Stop." Gren said as he and Amaya came charging in on horseback. "Stop the coronation! The princes are alive! Allen and Drake are protecting them." Gren said translaminting for Amaya sign language. This made Opeli happy as Chimecho appeared and hugged Opeli smiling just like Opeli. And this angered Viren. Soon the castle was filled with the sound of chatter, but this time was loader. and this time the chattering was about one thing. Who was telling the truth.
