Hello everyone, so some good news, the next few chapters went fast and because I got tired of making you all wait for The Last Black and White Dragons. So I did the rest of season 3 on the side and got most of it done. So starting today and over the course of the next 3 days, I'll post the last chapters of season 3, then on the following day after I post chapter 27, I'll post the first chapter of The Last Black and White Dragons, and for the next ten days after that, I'll post a new chapter of the The Last Black and White Dragons each day. This means for a little over 2 weeks of Dragon Prince. So let's get started.
Now Chapter 24.
Chapter 24
Thunder Fall and Phantom Rise
Katolis Plains
The morning after Viren's speech, Viren was leading what's left of their armies through the Katolis Plains which was the most direct and visible path to Xadia. Riding in the front with him on horses was Soren and Saleer on his right, and Kasef and Claudia on his left.
The Midnight Desert
Back in The Midnight Desert, Allen, Kali, Callum, Rayla, and their Pokemon were still asleep, with Allen and Kali snuggling up to each other, and Callum and Rayla snuggled up as well.
From the top of the Ambler's head, Nyx and Arithi noticed they reached the end of the Midnight Desert. Nyx and Arithi then flew down to everyone. "Wake up, love bugs. This is your stop." Nyx said to everyone, as she got close to everyone. This woke Zym up first, and Zym yip at Nyx, making her back away, as the rest slowly woke up
"Whoa!" Nyx said, as Zym growled at her, and started to get zappy. "Easy Zym. she's just giving us a wake up call." Allen said to Zym, petting Zym, calling Zym down. "Plus this is where we leave, and we never have to see her again." Kali said to Zym, before everyone stood up.
"So, what do we do from here?" Callum asked Nyx. "Well, the dragon's lair is only about a day's journey. They call it the Storm Spire. Big, tall, mountainy-tower thing, pierces the clouds? You can't miss it." Nyx said to everyone, as she placed her hands on her whips.
That's when the Ambler reached some fields, and let everyone off. With Callum falling off. Once they were off, Nyx and Arithi flew down to everyone, and landed in front of everyone. "So, uh, again, thanks for not killing us. You know, for conning you, and then betraying you, stealing your dragon, and leaving you stranded in the desert." Nyx said to everyone.
"If you keep talking like that, we have second thoughts about it." Allen said to Nyx, making Nyx nervously laugh. "So, no tip?" Nyx asked everyone. "Your tips is we forget about your actions, when we tell the Dragon Queen about how we got Zym home. I think that's a good tip." Kali said to Nyx, as everyone gave her mean looks. "I suppose that's fair. A word of advice, the air can get pretty thin up there." Nyx said to everyone, before she and Arithi flew up.
"Hey, looks like I gave you a tip! Guess we're even now." Nyx said to everyone, before laughing a little. "Just leave us. Now." Allen said to Nyx, as everyone gave her mean looks. Nyx and Arithi then flew away, and got onto the Ambler head. "Bye!" Nyx said to everyone.
The Sky
In the sky, Ezran, Drake, Bait, Lycanroc, and Darumaka were still riding Phoe-Phoe, and Ezran was getting worried. "Phoe-Phoe, you've been flying all night. You must be exhausted. Are you sure you don't want to stop and rest?" Ezran asked Phoe-Phoe. Phoe-Phoe cawed. "I'll take that as a no." Drake said to Ezran. Bait then grunted. "How are you tired?" Ezran asked Bait. That's when Phoe-Phoe started to do some fancy flying with Ezran enjoying it.
Katolis Forest
Back with Viren, as he led the army through a forest, Soren noticed Aaravos caterpillar on Viren's ear. Soren then got closer and tried to hit the caterpillar. But Viren stopped him. "What, you don't want me to smoosh that thing?" Soren asked Viren. "Do not smoosh the purple creature. Think of it as my animal familiar." Viren said to Soren.
"So, you're saying you've adopted a little bug-pal?" Soren asked Viren, making Viren sigh. "Yes, Soren. He is my little bug-pal." Viren said to Soren, giving Soren a mean look. This made Soren feel bad. "I'll just raid back here with Claudia for a while." Soren said to Viren, as she moved back.
That's when Aaravos appeared upside down in front of Viren. "Has our relationship truly escalated to this new height? Am I your "Little bug-pal"?" Aaravos asked Viren. Viren said nothing. "We have a long journey ahead." Aaravos said to Viren, as he flipped onto the back of a purple spirit horse he made.
"While we travel, there is something I have been meaning to ask you. My understanding is that somehow you killed Avizandum." Aaravos asked Viren. "I've killed no such person." Viren said to Aaravos. "Avizandum was no person. Avizandum was an archdragon, hand picked by the Gray Dragon to be the great king of all the dragons. The most powerful creature in the world. Yet, somehow, you brought him down." Aaravos said to Viren, as he floated in front of Viren. "So, Avizandum was his true name. We called him… Thunder." Viren said to Aaravos.
Xadia Plains
Back in Xadia, Allen, Kali, Callum, Rayla, and their Pokemon were walking through a hilly wide open area, with Allen digging through his bag. "What are you doing Allen?" Kali asked Allen. "Well, since all we have to do is walk through these hills, and have nothing crazy or important happening to us for a bit. I thought I finally read the letter Harrow gave me a long time ago." Allen said to Kali, as he finally pulled out the letter and opened it.
The Past
"We encountered the great dragon many years ago. We had dared to enter Xadia because we desperately needed something. And in his fury to drive us out… Thunder killed our queen, the love of King Harrow's life, Sarai. Many years passed before I saw a chance to avenge her." Viren said to Aaravos, as he recalled the events of the Magma Titan Heat.
"Allen if you're reading this. Then I'm gone. But I think you should know why this happened, and my greatest mistake. It all started on a normal day." Allen read the letter, as the past turned to Harrow playing hide and seek with Ezran and Bait.
"Eighteen, nineteen, twenty. Ready or nor, here I come." Harrow said, as he looked around, with Bait on his head. And even though Harrow knew Bait was on his head, he acted like he didn't know. "Now, where could that clever little glow toad be hiding?" Harrow asked. This made Ezran giggle, as he watched his father.
"Hmm. Bait's not back here." Harrow said, looking behind the throne. "I think I hear him." Harrow said, before sniffing. "I smell him. I sense his grumpiness. He's close, I know it." Harrow said, making Ezran giggle more.
That's when Harrow walked up to Ezran's hiding spot. "I give up. Bait is a hiding genius." Harrow said to Ezran. This made Bait glow pink. That's when Harrow laughed and took Bait off his head. "Gotcha!" Harrow said, making Ezran laugh.
That's when Viren enters the room. "Ah, Viren. Care to join the next round of hide-and-seek? No cheating with magic." Harrow asked Viren. "Uh-huh, perhaps next time." Viren said to Harrow, before walking up to the war table. "High Mage Viren and I are going to talk." Harrow said to Ezran, as he gave Bait to Ezran. "Okay, Dad. Come on, Bait." Ezran said to Harrow, and Bait, as he and Bait left the room.
Once Ezran left, Viren pulled out the thunder piece. "My king, an unusual opportunity has presented itself. We can avenge her, Harrow. We can slay the King of the Dragons." Viren said to Harrow, walking up to Harrow, and holding up the Thunder piece to Harrow.
"Are you crazy? Thunder is bigger and stronger than any beast the world has ever seen. Entire armies have fallen and crumbled like toys before him. He was chosen by the Great Dragons to rule over the border. How can we hope to kill such a godly creature?" Harrow asked Viren, turning his back from Viren.
"I have discovered a powerful spell. We can create the ultimate weapon of vengeance." Viren said to Harrow. Harrow looked at Viren, and followed Viren to his lab.
In his lad, on a table, was Sarai's spear, a jar, and something covered in by a piece of fabric. "On that fateful day, so many years ago, Queen Sarai saved my life, but minutes later, after Thunder struck, there was nothing I could do to save hers. I watched as her spirit passed from the world." Viren said to Harrow, before going quiet.
"Go on." Harrow said to Viren, with a sad tune voice. "In her final moments, I captured something that I hoped we could use later." Viren said to Harrow, placing a hand on the jar. "It's empty." Harrow said to Viren. "No. It contains her dying breath." Viren said to Harrow, with a angry look on his face
"Viren…" Harrow said, getting nervous. "You see, I knew about a very ancient, powerful spell. However, it requires something impossibly rare, the horn of a unicorn. I searched for years and I failed, but a few days ago, my daughter Claudia succeeded where I could not. She captured a unicorn and brought me its horn." Viren said to Harrow, as he removed the fabric, revealing a covered white bone horn.
This made Viren sighed. "Viren, what have you done?" Harrow asked Viren, getting serious. "Tell me you don't want justice. Tell me she wasn't your world. The dying breath. The unicorn's pure horn. There's one last component I need. The undying hatred of one who loved the victim. Your blood. I know your heart still burns with anger. Avenger her, Harrow!" Viren said to Harrow, holding the horn to him.
Harrow thought about it, and turned away from Viren before walking to the window and sighing. "It's been a long time. Our kingdom is prospering. There is peace. My boys, they're growing up. Perhaps it's wiser to stay focused on these blessings." Harrow said to Viren, looking out the window.
"She didn't get to see the princes grow up. She should have." Viren said to Harrow. "Yes, it's true." Harrow said to Viren. "And what about them? They were robbed of their mother's love." Viren said to Harrow, making Harrow cry.
"I knew this was a bad thing. But Viren's words convinced me to go through with the spell. I make no excuses. It was my choice. I choose hate instead of love." Allen read, as an angry Harrow took a needle and stabbed his index fingers, and made a drop of blood fall onto the horn.
Viren then chanted his spell, turning the horn a sick black, and it moved onto Sarai's spear, and attached itself like a parasite. "I will leave you with your grief." Viren said, as he left Harrow, without seeing Viren's sick skin. Over the spear, Harrow was crying.
Katolis Forest
Back in the forest, Soren moved to Kasef's side. "Hey, man. I'm soren. I don't think I caught your name." Soren asked to Kasef. "Kasef. Prince Kasef." Kasef said to Soren. "Right, right. Do I detect a little accent? Ooh, let me guess. You're from that one kingdom… You know the… you know the one I'm talking about. Un, uh, the… Noodleoodlia." Soren said to Kasef.
"Neolandia." Kasef said to Soren, making sure Soren never said that word again. "Yeah. That's exactly what I just said. Noodleoodlia." Soren said to Kasef. But this just confused Kasef, and he went ahead of Soren.
The Sky
In the sky, Ezran, Drake, Bait, Lycanroc, Darumaka, and Phoe-Phoe were flying over the magma river. "We're making good time. We're in Xadia now." Drake said to everyone. "I can't believe it. This is the moment I've dreamed of my whole life! We're going into Xadia." Ezran said to everyone.
"Phoe-Phoe, you did it! You got us here." Ezran said to Phoe-Phoe, while Phoe-Phoe was painting. "Phoe-Phoe? What's wrong?" Ezran asked Phoe-Phoe. That's when Phoe-Phoe started to go down. "She's exhausted and going down! Everyone hold on!" Drake said to everyone, as he tied one of his hands to the saddle, and held his staff up. Drake then made his staff glow blue, and it helped slow Phoe-Phoe down. This made Phoe-Phoe land normally.
But aftering landing, Phoe-Phoe collapsed from exhaustion. That's when everyone got off her. "Phoe-Phoe! You're exhausted and sick." Ezran said to Phoe-Phoe, as he put his head to her head.
"You got us to Xadia. We can find them on our own now." Ezran said to Phoe-Phoe. "Yeah. we can take it from here. Rest her, and head home when the moon is up." Drake said to Phoe-Phoe, petting Phoe-Phoe head. "You heard him. You need to get home so you can rest and get better." Ezran said to Phoe-Phoe.
But that's when Phoe-Phoe got up. "I know Lujanne told you to bring me all the way, but you have to promise me you'll be okay." Ezran said to Phoe-Phoe, as he touched her beck. Phoe-Phoe chirped. "She says she has to see this through." Ezran said to everyone. "Okay, just let us know when it's too much for you." Drake said to Phoe-Phoe, petting her, before they all got on Phoe-Phoe's back. Phoe-Phoe then took off into the air.
Katolis Forest
Back in the forest, Kasef moved past Soren, and moved to Claudia's side. "Your brother, Soren, he's a bit… quirky." Kasef said to Claudia. "Hmm. People usually say I'm the quierly one." Claudia said to Kasef, making a silly face and hand gesture.
Confused by this, Kasef turned his head, and he noticed Viren talking to himself, well Aaravos, not that Kasef knew that. "And your father, is he talking to himself?" Kasef asked everyone. "What? No, of course he's not talking to himself. That's be crazy! He's talking to his little bug-pal." Soren said to Kasef, making Kasef have a confused look on his face, wondering what was wrong with this family, as he looked at all of them. "Huh?" Kasef said, before moving back away from all of them.
"Please, continue. I eagerly await the great confrontation." Aaravos said to Viren, as he laid on his stomach on his ghost horse. "We did not find Thunder… Avizandum… where we expected to find him. Instead we found something else there." Viren said to Aaravos.
The Past
In the past, Viren and Harrow alone rode into Xadia on horseback, and while they were expecting a fight, they didn't get it. "Where is he? He's always guarded this border jealousy. But today, when we've come for him, he hides?" Harrow asked Viren. "No. If he's not protecting the border, it's because he's protecting something more important." Viren said to Harrow, before riding off, with Harrow following Viren.
"But before we got far, this thing appeared in our path." Viren said to Aaravos, as his past self and Harrow stop their horses. The reason, a cloaked figure who had two sleeves in the cloak but only the left sleeve had an arm in it, and the right sleeve was just hanging there, was standing in their way.
"Who are you?" Viren asked the cloaked figure. "That's something you don't need to know." The cloaked figure said to Viren, with a male voice. "Are you an elf here to stop us?" Harrow asked the cloaked figure, as they got ready for a fight.
"I'm not an elf or here to stop you. At least not this time." The cloaked figure said to Harrow. "Then why are you here?" Viren asked the cloaked figure. "To give you a choice." The cloaked figure said to everyone. "A choice?" Harrow asked the cloaked figure.
"One, go home, throw that spear in the lava, and enjoy your life with your sons. Or two, go after Thunder, and take your vengeance, and damned your kingdom and all our people to death." The cloaked figure said to Harrow, pointing to the direction they were heading.
"Is that a threat?!" Harrow asked the cloaked figure. "No. it's a warning. A warning not to listen to the fool consumed by darkness that's beside you." The cloaked figure said to Harrow, pointing to Viren. "You dare call me a fool. I'm no fool. I seek to bring justice for Queen Sarai." Viren said to the cloaked figure.
"You seek to ease your hate. Hate that Thunder took her, and hate that you could do nothing but watch her die. You just want to watch Thunder die as she died." The cloaked figure said to Viren. "He should die. After what he did." Viren said to the cloaked figure.
"He was doing his job. You're the fools that chose to come into his land and hunt a Magma Titan because you tried to force nature to skip winter. Three queens is a fair price." The cloaked figure said to everyone.
"You dare to call Sarai's death fair!" Harrow said to the cloaked figure. "Yes. I do. Look, I know what it's like to lose the one you love. But unlike you I live by her memory." The cloaked figure said to Harrow. "So do we." Viren said to the cloaked figure.
"Is this something she would have wanted? I may not have known her. But you two did, and I have a feeling if she was here, she wouldn't have wanted any of this. And don't tell me she would have wanted to live. All of you who take vengeance in the name of love once always say the same thing." The cloaked figure said to everyone. "So you're telling us to forget about bringing justice to Thunder?" Harrow asked the cloaked figure.
"One, it's vengeance not justice, use the correct words. And two, I'm here to let you know there is a choice. It would be hypocritical of me to tell you not to take vengeance, when I do the same. So if you want your vengeance, then go, take it. Just know when vengeance for nothing more than hate and petty reasons, you'll become hollow when it's over. For once vengeance is done, you'd gain nothing and only make things worse for yourself." The cloaked figure said to Harrow, as he stepped to the side.
Harrow and Viren then rode off heading for Thunder's home. "I see. Then I'll see you later." The cloak figure said to them, as they passed him.
"I only now understand what that stranger meant. By going after vengeance, I made things worse for not only me, but for my sons. If I had just ignored Viren's ideas a long time ago, then Sarai would have seen her boys grow up, or if I had rejected his idea or tossed that cursed spear into the lava, I could have seen my boys grown too." Allen said, reading the letter.
"It took us days to reach our destination…" Viren said to Aaravos, as his past self and Harrow reached a massive column-like mountain, reaching high above the clouds, with light snow falling around them. "The lair of the Dragon King and Queen!" Viren said to Aaravos.
That's when Harrow and Viren stopped. The reason, they say Thunder shadow in the clouds above them. "Here he comes." Harrow said, as they got ready for their fight. That's when Thunder came down on them, with him letting out electricity in an intimidating way.
"Leave. Today, of all days, I will spare you. But you must turn around and leave Xadia. Now." Thunder said to Harrow and Viren, with a mighty and commanding voice. "No." Harrow said to Thunder. "Today is a special day, a day of life." Thunder said to Harrow, surprising Viren.
"Do not force me to make it a day of death. This is your last chance. Leave or die!" Thunder said to Harrow and Viren, roaring at them. This made Harrow very mad. "You never gave her that choice." Harrow said to Thunder, before letting out a tear.
Harrow then yelled and charged at Thunder, with Viren following Harrow. Thunder then tried to crush Harrow with his claw, but was frozen in place by Viren channeling a spell, trapping him in energy.
But Thunder's big size made it hard for Viren to keep Thunder still, and Thunder was slowly moving. After a few seconds of this, Viren lost consciousness and fell off his horse. But this didn't stop Harrow, he kept charging.
Then Thunder's claw came down on Harrow. But that's when Harrow threw the spear, and it hit Thunder's heart. The sudden pain caused thunder to nearly miss Harrow. But the force was still enough to send Harrow and his horse flying.
Then Thunder felt a lot of pain, and noticed the spear pumping black energy into his heart, and purple lines appeared around the spear. "What is this?" Thunder asked, before roaring in pain. That's when Viren woke up and ran to Harrow's side.
Thunder turned around facing his home. That's when he started to turn to stone. He looked at his home. Thunder took off into the sky, still turning to stone, all the while Viren enjoyed this sigh of his dark magic. As Thunder flew, his right wing turned to stone, and he fell out of the sky.
When Thunder hit the ground, his wing shattered. Without wings, Thunder started to move as fast as he could, with the dark magic killing him. But then his front left leg turned to stone, and broke, making Thunder crash into the ground again. While Viren enjoyed this sight, Harrow just looked at Thunder with a serious face.
"Kyurem! Please! Protect My…!" Thunder said, as he reached his right hand to his home, and cried a little, before turning to stone. "We've done it. It's over." Harrow said, panting.
"Yep you did it." a voice said to Harrow. That's when Harrow and Viren noticed the cloaked figure looking at Thunder's corpse. "You sold your soul to darkness. Well it's time to collect." The cloaked figure said to everyone, turning to them.
"So you're going to kill us?" Viren asked the cloaked figure. "What no. I'm going to trap you in cages and make you watch as your kingdom is turned into rubble, with your kids lives ruined along with the kingdom, Soren will turn into a pincushion with spears, Claudia will burned at the stake like the which she is, as for Callum and Ezran I plain to take them and twist their mind. They'll remember you as a very bad person, who only hurt them and never loved them." The cloaked figure said to Harrow and Viren, before maniacal laughing.
"I WON'T LET YOU TOUCH MY SONS!" Harrow said to the cloaked figure, as he pulled out his sword and charged at the cloaked figure. Harrow then reached the cloaked figure, and brought his sword down on the cloaked figure, while the cloaked figure was unphased by Harrow's attack. Then in an instance, the cloaked figure moved his hand, and caught Harrow's sword in between his index and middle.
"Did you really think it would be that easy? One of my best friends was the strongest war deamon in history, and he taught me a few sword tricks. Like this." The cloaked figure said to Harrow, before flipping his hand, and causing Harrow to flip onto his back and lose his sword.
The cloaked figure then tossed the sword away, and grabbed Harrow. The cloaked figure then pulled Harrow up, and then slammed Harrow into the ground. He did this multiple times. "HARROW!" Viren yelled, as he tried the spell he used to freeze Thunder in place.
The spell hit the cloaked figure as he slammed Harrow into the ground. But with just a twitch of his pinky finger, the cloaked figure broke the spell. "No way, even Thunder had a hard time breaking free of that spell." Viren said. "That's because you've never seen anything like me. Now sit down and wait your turn." The cloaked figure said to Viren, before snapping his fingers, sending out a black and red sonic pulse. The pulse hit Viren, and sent Viren flying, and making Viren lose his staff.
That's when the cloaked figure noticed Harrow trying to get away from him and get his sword, and grabbed Harrow's leg. "I'm not done with you yet." The cloaked figure said to Harrow, before he started to spin Harrow around like he was a piece of fabric.
Panicking, Viren dug around in his clothes and pulled out the Primal stone. "Fulminis." Viren said, as he casted the thunder spell, and fired a bolt of electricity at the cloaked figure. The cloaked figure noticed the spell, and let go of Harrow, sending Harrow flying.
Then right before the lighting bolt hit the cloaked figure, the cloaked figure grabbed the lighting bolt, making it take the shape of a short spear in his hands, and surprising everyone. "I gotta say. I was hoping for more." The cloaked figure said to Viren and Harrow, placing the lighting bolt on his shoulder like it was a random stick. "Just what are you?" Harrow asked the cloaked figure.
"I'm Hated. I'm Despair. I'm Lust. I'm Greed. I'm Selfishness. I'm Obsession. I'm Cowardice. I'm Conceit. I'M THE LORD OF CALAMITY!" The cloaked figure said to Harrow and Viren, as he channeled black and red energy into the lighting bolt, making it turn black and red, and making it surge widely, with the cloaked figure fist the only thing keeping it from exploding.
"I'd advise you to RUN!" The cloaked figure said to Harrow and Viren. Listening to him, they ran for their lives. That's when the cloaked figure opened his hand, and the lighting bolt exploded letting out a very large amount of black and red electricity, with the energy making a sound like it was screaming in pain.
The force of the electricity sent Harrow and Viren flying, and when they looked back, they noticed the cloaked figure wasn't even stretched and the land around the cloaked figure was turned into black rocks, like life itself never touched that spot.
The cloaked figure then walked up to Harrow and Viren. "Do you understand now? I'm the flesh of those emotions, and when you came here, you gave into your hate, meaning you sold your soul to me." The cloak figure said to Harrow and Viren, as black ooze came out of his cloak, and covered the black rocks. That's when Viren and Harrow noticed a handle full of something swimming in the ooze, but was still under it.
That's when a black energy ball appeared next to the cloaked figure. "Master, I hate to intrude on your fun. But the final battle of Ylisse and Plegia is about to begin, and you asked to be notified when that happened." A male voice said to the cloaked figure, from the black ball.
"Really, I thought that battle wasn't going to happen for a couple more days. Eshu explain?" The cloaked figure said to black ball. "Apparently, the forces of Ylisse and Ferox rallied faster after the sacrifice of Garchomp." Eshu said to the cloaked figure.
"I see. I'm on my way Eshu. Be there in a bit." The cloaked figure said to the black ball, before the black ball faded away. "It looks like it's your lucky day. But just because I'm leaving doesn't mean you're safe. I'll be back." The cloaked figure said to Harrow and Viren. "Then we'll be ready for you!" Harrow said to the cloaked figure.
This made the cloaked figure laugh. "You think you can get ready for me? You've barely seen my full power. But let me show you a small taste of it." The cloak figure said to Harrow, as he made a small black ball appear in his hand. Then harsh winds then started to suck everything into the black ball.
The area around the cloaked figure broke apart and got sucked into the black ball, with Harrow and Viren trying to run as best as they could, but was slowly getting pulled to the cloaked figure.
Then the cloaked figure then let go of the ball, and everything turned back to normal, with Harrow and Viren on the edge of a hole, with the cloaked figure floating above the hole. The cloaked figure then flew up to Harrow and Viren.
"Listen to me. The only ones that can keep me away are the Great Dragons, but they're not here. So I'll be back, and next time with an army of monsters. So go home, enjoy what little time you have left before I come for your souls and destroy your world and that's a promise. Until next time." The cloaked figure said to Harrow and Viren, as he glowed black and disappeared.
"How can we keep that thing away?" Harrow asked Viren. "I might have an idea." Viren said to Harrow. "And that is?" Harrow asked Viren. "In Thunders lair lies a spell to call the Great Dragon. If we get it. We could use it to summon them here." Viren said to Harrow. "And what makes you think they'll help us?" Harrow asked Viren.
"I'll take care of it. But first. I need to go up there and get the spell." Viren said to Harrow. "And what of his mate?" Harrow asked Viren. "After what we did, if she hasn't come down. Then she isn't here. I must go now!" Viren said to Harrow. "No." Harrow said to Viren. "We have no choice, Harrow. We were outmatched by that thing, and he's said he'll come and destroy everything we love. If we don't summon the Great Dragons, he'll come and kill all of humanity." Viren said to Harrow, getting into Harrow's face.
"Give me one chance to clean this up. And then it will truly, finally be over." Viren said to Harrow, as he stood up. "Very well, Viren. Do what you have to protect our kingdom." Harrow said to Viren. Viren then called his horse, got on it, and rode off to the Strom Spire.
Xadia Plains
"I learned later that Viren knew about the egg, and didn't tell me. And in fear of that stranger coming back. I told him to do what he has to protect our kingdom. To Viren that meant smashing the egg and stealing many of the Dragon Kings stuff. I could not change what had been done, for I just stayed there, and let Viren do what he wanted, like I always did. But I was very angry with Viren's actions, and didn't talk to him or look at him on the way back. That's when I realized what the stranger ment. That good intention out of hate or desperation doesn't make it right. And now, I'll pay the price the stranger mentioned for using Dark Magic." Allen said, reading the end of the letter, as they reached the remains of Thunder.
"Is it a statue?" Callum asked everyone. "No. it's not a statue." Rayla said to Callum, as Zym started to whimper, and look away from the remains. "Shh. Hey, it's okay, little guy. You're safe, you're safe. We're here with you." Callum said to Zym, trying to calm Zym down.
That's when they heard screeching. "That sounds like…" Rayla said, as Phoe-Phoe came flying up to them with the sun behind her. " Phoe-Phoe?" Callum asked. "What's she doing here? She's very far from home?" Kali asked everyone. Then Zym chirped.
Katolis Forest
Back in the forest, Aaravos was clapping for Viren's story. "What an incredible story. I am delighted you took down that arrogant monster." Aaravos said to Viren. "It sounds like you have a history with Avizandum." Viren said to Aaravos. "Oh, I do. He is the reason I am where I am today." Aaravos said to Viren.
"And where is that?" Viren asked Aaravos. "He never bothered to mention where he imprisoned me." Aaravos said to Viren. "You're imprisoned? Your home looks like no prison I've ever seen." Viren said to Aaravos. "Yes, it's well appointed. But make no mistake, this has been my prison these past few centuries. And this last century has been the worst with that stranger you met being my warden." Aaravos said to Viren.
"So you know that thing?" Viren asked Aaravos. "Yes. My prison was given to him a long time ago. The first time I met him, I thought he was nothing and tried fighting my way through him, but he easily overpowered me and almost ripped me apart tiny peace by tiny peace." Aaravos said to Viren. "How could he do something like that? From the small help I got from you. You seem like a strong and wise mage, how could he overpower you?" Viren asked Aaravos.
"He's the original herald, like Allen and Drake. He was created long ago by one of the elder brothers of the Great Dragons. Unlike Allen and Drake, he was made without limits, and with the power of a beast even stronger than the Great Dragons, he's something unstoppable. He keeps me trapped here and will be my warden forever." Aaravos said to Viren.
That's when Kasef came running up from the path ahead. "King Viren, I have some bad news. We've received word that the Breach has been completely destroyed." Kasef said to Viren. "What?" Viren asked Kasef. "Without the Breach to cross into Xadia, our armies are stranded on the human side. The border is completely impassable." Kasef said to Viren.
"There's still the Frozen Throne. But that'll take us a week out of our way." Viren said to everyone. "No. We're going to cross that border. After all." Claudia said, as she pulled out the dragon horn she had. "Impassable is just another kind of passable." Claudia said to everyone. "Yes!" Aaravos said, as everyone got excited.
Xadia Plains
Back in the plains, everyone noticed Phoe-Phoe landed in front of all of them and they noticed Ezran, Drake, Bait, Lycanroc, and Darumaka on her back. "Ez? Ezran!" Callum said, as they all moved to each other. Zym reached Ezran first, and tackled Ezran to the ground. "Zym, Zym! I missed you so much!" Ezran said to Zym. "Ezran?" Ralya asked Ezran. "Callum! Rayla! Allen! Kali!" Ezran said, as everyone had a group hug.
Looks like we missed quite a bit." Drake said to everyone, after they broke their hug, and noticed Gliscor, Yanmega, and Sandile. "I could say the same thing." Allen said to Drake, as he noticed Darumaka and Lycanroc.
"What are you all doing here?" Rayla asked Ezran and Drake. "Let's just say that being king isn't all it's cracked up to be." Ezran said to Rayla. "Are you okay? Are you hurt? Let me look at you." Callum said to Ezran, before examining Ezran. "I'm fine, Callum! I'm safe now." Ezran said to Callum.
That's when Phoe-Phoe fell to the ground. "Phoe-Phoe!" Drake said, as he moved to Phoe-Phoe and checked her vitals. "Phoe-Phoe?" Ezran said, as put his head on Phoe-Phoe's chest, and felt her weak breathing. "Oh, no. She flew the whole way here. She's so tired, but she wouldn't let me stop her. You did so good, Phoe-Phoe, and now we made it." Ezran said to Phoe-Phoe.
That's when Phoe-Phoe let out her last breath, making Ezran gasp and cry. "No! You've got to be okay. You promised me you'd be okay." Ezran said to Phoe-Phoe, as Rayla put a hand on Callum's shoulder, and Callum put a hand on her hand, and as Allen and Kali held hands.
"She did what she thought was right, and gave it her all. All we can do is make sure it was worth it." Drake said to Ezran, putting a hand on his shoulder. That's when Callum walked up to Ezran. When Ezran noticed Callum and hugged Callum. Zym joined the brothers hug.
That's when Phoe-Phoe burst into light blue flames. The flames turned into a glowing father that floated down and onto the pile of ash. Everyone walked up to the ash, as Ezran picked up the feather.
"She is going to be okay. She's a Moon Phoenix! When the time is right, she'll be reborn!" Ezran said to everyone. "Then you better take very good care of that feather." Drake said to Ezran, rubbing his head.
The Xadia Border
Meanwhile, Viren and his army were standing in front of the magma river. Viren then walked to the magma, and cast a dark spell with the dragon horn in hand. Viren absorbed the dragon horn and channeled dark magic into his staff. Viren then slammed the base of his staff into the magma. With a pulse of wind, the magma moved and cleared a way, then cooled down and made sure the magma wouldn't threaten the army.
This supired the army. Then Viren noticed Aaravos bowed to him, and held out a hand like he was opening a door. This made Viren smile, as his skin turned sick. The army cheered, as Viren led everyone through the magma river and into Xadia.
Xadia Plains
Back in the plains, Ezran, Lycanroc, Bait, and Zym where playing, with the others talking about all that's happened since they split, minus the part where Allen and Kali, and Callum and Rayla got together.
"I hate him. He's the one who took my mother." Callum said to everyone. "Oh…" Ralya said to Callum. "That's a normal thing to feel." Allen said to Callum. "Looking at him, seeing him… it makes me sad, and angry, and.. Confused." Callum said to everyone.
"Of course it dies. It's painful. How could you feel any different?" Ralya asked Callum. "See that spear? That was her spear, my mom's. And my stepdad put it into his heart. How am I supposed to feel about that?" Callum asked Rayla.
"I don't know, Callum." Rayla said to Callum. "Well, tell us. How should you feel about this?" Allen asked Callum. "Glad. Happy that we got revenge? Or maybe regretful… and sad, because…" Callum said, before going quiet.
"Because what?" Rayla asked Callum. "Because that was Zym's dad." Callum said to Rayla, as they watched Ezran, Lycanroc, Bait, and Zym playing. "I feel so sorry that this all happened." Callum said to everyone. "Me too, Callum. But look at them, playing together. That's the miracle. That's hope. They're the ones that are going to break the cycle." Rayla said to Callum.
"She's right. We just have to keep trying, and pick ourselves up when we fall. And little by little, we'll make things better. We may not know what the future will bring. But so long as we never give up, we'll overcome it." Drake said to everyone, as he took a step forward, and had his back turned to everyone.
That's when Callum and Rayla held hands and placed their heads next to each other, with Allen and Kali wrapping an arm around each other's waist, pulling them closer to each other.
