Kuri was running down the hallway, and suddenly she was caught from behind.
"Don't move," whispered a female voice in her ear. "I will not hesitate to kill you. In fact, that's what I was hired to do."
The woman reached down and pulled a gun from her belt and put it to Kuri's head.
Robin, Gwen, and Deku were walking down the hall and suddenly they saw Kuri being held at gunpoint.
"What the heck?" Gwen said.
"Back up or I'll shoot her," the girl said. "I'm going to shoot her anyway."
"Let go of me!" yelled Kuri, struggling.
"Not until you're dead," the girl replied.
"Why do you want her dead?" asked Gwen.
"She took something of mine," the girl said. "And then she destroyed it."
"The writing," Robin said. "She's talking about the writing."
"She read it, and took on the power," replied the girl. "It was mine. It took me years to find it. And she killed Ari…"
The girl cocked the gun. "No more questions!"
Gwen grabbed the girl's arm and pulled the gun from Hana's head. Kuri pulled out of the girl's grasp, and they backed away.
The girl fired the gun at Gwen, hitting her in the stomach.
Gwen fell to the ground, clutching her stomach. Robin, Kuri, and Deku stepped forward.
"Don't worry," Kuri said, her hands already glowing.
Gwen was healed and they stood.
The assassin threw a shuriken at Kuri, which she dodged.
"Hey!" Kuri said. "Look, I already regret what I did! Do you have to kill me for it?"
She desperately threw magic at the girl. The girl fired the gun. Kuri fell forward.
"Hitting me when you know I can't heal myself?" Kuri said. "That's so vile I could…" She hit the floor, on her knees, coughing up blood.
"Kuri!" Gwen exclaimed. She whirled on the assassin. "You…" She punched her.
"Don't make me kill you again," the girl said. "Kuri's as good as dead. Good-bye."
The girl ran down the hallway.
Deku sat down next to Kuri, glowing, barely controlling his rage. "We need to get her to a hospital."
Robin dialed for an ambulance.
Gwen knelt next to her friend. "Kuri, don't die on me now."
Kuri coughed. "You can't…get rid…of me…that easily."
The EMTs arrived. They came in and started to load her onto a stretcher, but she grabbed Deku's arm.
"In case I don't come out of this," Kuri said, and she kissed Deku. He doubled back, and his powers were finally healed as his memories and sense of duty returned to him.. Fortunately, the EMT's were too busy to notice.
Deku quickly left the building, And Kuri was loaded on to a stretcher and taken to the hospital.
