There's Nothing Like Starting Young

One may believe that her behaviour was suspicious as she drew closer and closer to the cake on the table. While she was only thirteen, Alecto knew exactly what she did and did not want in life. With a smirk, she casually reached up and clasped the metal object in her hand before turning towards her first victim, Leo Jones.

"Tell me again that Mudbloods are just like you and me," she dared.

The older boy opposite her stumbled backwards, obviously not having expected hostility at his own birthday party. "Just — that..." He looked around unsure of himself. "...they have magic too, you know?"

Alecto scoffed. "Dirty, stolen magic! They don't deserve to reside on this earth, let alone sit next to Purebloods such as ourselves!"

"I… I'm not a Pure… I'm… Half…" he garbled, his eyes wide and his legs shaking. "Are you going to stab me?"

Another scoff, followed by a laugh. "Don't be stupid," she replied, dropping the knife to the ground. "I'd never attack you in the Muggle way." Without warning, she pointed her wand at him. "Reducto." She watched with absolute joy as Leo flew across his own kitchen into the fridge. There was a sickening thud as his back made contact with the hard surface.

With a laugh, she walked back out into the garden and found her brother. "Amycus, why are we at this stupid party again?"

"For the cake, of course."

Alecto rolled her eyes. "Associating with Half-bloods for cake is not a good reason. Next time, I'll curse you if you say something that pathetic." With a disappointed look at him, she walked off and demanded to be taken home - she could feel the very interaction with the Half-blood tainting her core. She was even disgusted with herself for being here.

After receiving no punishment for attacking Leo in his own home, Alecto's threats started to become a reality; she was finally free to do as she wished. Her tolerance for those beneath her dwindled, including her brother's 'friend'. One day, Amycus would learn that Half-bloods didn't belong in this world. Just like Mudbloods, they deserved to be six feet under.

"How many times have I told you not to talk to that disgrace?" she demanded as her brother came into her view in the Slytherin Common Room. She had caught him talking to Leo Jones once again.

Amycus rolled his eyes disobediently at her, not taking her seriously. He rarely did. This time, however, he would.

Stepping away, she walked over to the leather couch and collected the cloak she had previously discarded there and took out her wand. Perhaps her brother shouldn't have underestimated her, for he became more suspicious when she walked away. With a sudden spin, she pointed her wand and announced clearly "Flipendo!"

She grinned as she sent him flying backwards. This had been much more satisfying than she had expected.

With her eyes trained on her prey, she didn't let her guard down and the second his wand came into sight she shouted: "Expelliarmus!"

The shock and betrayal was evident on Amycus' face as he stared up at her.

"Whose side are you on?"

Alecto's face hardened instantly.

"Remember who you associate with, or else the Flipendo will be a Crucio!"

With that, she walked towards the portrait and kicked Amycus' wand back to him. Without looking back she went to hunt down the traitorous Half-blood. Nobody would lead her brother astray and embarrass her family name!
