As much as she told herself that she was running out of time, she still has her morality intact not to visit his office the second time in the same day. As much as she told herself just how urgent it was to come face to face with the captain (and hopefully with that all her troubles would be resolved), she still has the least amount of decorum needed to recognize his status as her superior in Anbu. And with that, the rest of the day she's been telling herself to take a pause, to breathe and cherish the free oxygen around her, to cook and eat something time-consuming and delicious. Because for all she knows, it could be the last time she get to spend her time as an Anbu…

Yet, the more she tries to overlook the pressing matter at hand the more she can't stop thinking about it. She just can't simply ignore Neji's scientifically proven explanation and deems it to be absurd without evidence from her part. The more she thinks about it, the more logical it becomes. It is true that her two unexpected heats were activated when a particular Alpha was nearby. It is also true that since her emergency injection didn't work, her heat was stopped by engaging to something that was close to… anyway it was the most intimate activity she has ever done with a person, with yet again the said Alpha.

If, Captain Uchiha was indeed the trigger to her heat episodes… it isn't too difficult to deduce the implication of it all, right?...

Hinata tries to recall and reasons as to why when the two locked eyes for the first time in the conference room, Uchiha Sasuke almost looked as though he was set forth to reach her, even going so far and cutting his conversation short with someone who could be of important matter. Then, without as much of a reasoning, he gripped her hand and brought her to his office.

Why? Why is she having this odd feeling that it seems as if he knew?

Her pearly eyes widen.

Did he?...

Was it the reason he took her to his office as soon as he saw her? Was the reason because he knew what would happen if they were to meet? And why did he order her to leave right away after her heat subsided like something of no value to discard after being used and spent? He brought her to his office to talk, but in reality there wasn't much talk.

Hinata is deeply perplexed by her way of thinking.

One would think being in Intelligence Divison would suit her best, putting random and difficult pieces together to get the whole picture of how the criminal's mind work. But all she can think of herself at the moment is that she is suited to be a novel author who writes melodramatic stories. Simply because there is no way something so utterly nonsensical is happening to her.

"We need to talk, don't we?"

Hinata scoffs. A man of his words, huh?

"Let's talk some other time."

Let's talk some other time? Sure, let's talk tomorrow.

And no, her pride isn't hurt.

Geared in her non-Anbu mission attire, a light lavender sleeveless kimono-style blouse with vertical lines, tied with a dark purple obi around her waist and paired with dark navy shorts and thigh-high stockings, with her black high-heeled boots she brings her feet to enter Anbu Headquarters in steadfast gait the next morning.

Mornings in the headquarters are always busy. So it is not a surprising sight to see a myriad of administrative staffs passing her by in harried steps while still managing to secure precarious stack of mission rolls with both of their hands. She doesn't encounter anyone she knows, or maybe she did but they were too occupied by their mission at hand and failed to notice her entering the Anbu Headquarters not in her usual Anbu gears and blends with the administrative staffs. Because administrative staffs are mostly non-Anbu Beta, they aren't needed to come to the office in Anbu gears as they aren't Anbu in the first place. Meanwhile, Anbu, Beta and Alpha alike, are rarely needed to come to the headquarters with Anbu unrelated affair. As a matter of fact, this will be the first time she ever sets foot inside Anbu Headquarters in her non-Anbu attire.

Apart from fearing to draw undesirable attention from her colleagues because she is walking inside the headquarters in her non-Anbu attire, which turns out to be an unnecessary worry, despite her resolution, there is this looming feeling as if there is something lacking, like there is something she should have done before coming here but didn't. She can't pinpoint anything though.

Enough with the malarkey, she curls her fingers into firm fists and proceeds to ascend the imposing stairs ahead. The walk toward his office somehow feels time-consuming and energy-depleting, as if the office was located in the farthest end of the building from where she first entered.

When she arrives though, it feels as though the time fleeting by in rapid speed. His name etched on the iron plate is a late wake up call for her to come to a realization that she isn't completely ready.

If she isn't ready now, she won't be in a million times from now.

With some new-found resolution, she brings her fist to knock on his door.

She holds her breath, but there is no answer. She knocks again, still, no answer. She knocks again and only the silence answering her.

Confused and momentarily not knowing what to do, she takes a step back with eyes wildly scanning his still wooden door as a whole.

He isn't in the office?

She knocks again to ensure herself, then after hearing yet another silence, she activates her Byakugan, inwardly hoping he really isn't inside because she is going to overstep her bounds as a subordinate or as an Anbu altogether. Her eyes widen as she learns that there isn't anyone inside indeed.

Hinata, deactivating her Byakugan, takes another step behind and stares at his door in a daze. She didn't calculate the possibility of the captain not being present.

Still in a daze, she walks the way to where she came from. The initially imposing staircase looks frail now as she is descending it. The walk to the main double-door entrance on the ground floor doesn't take as long as it did when she first entered the building this morning. Now, if he isn't present in his office today, what should she do then?

Even when she takes the first step outside the main entrance, her brain is still not working properly. She is even hallucinating. She tilts her head to the side at the sight before her; striding from the street towards her, or the main entrance specifically, is none other than the captain himself dressed in his summer Anbu attire without the mask and forearm guards.

She would have walked past him and praised her brain for the accurate portrayal of the captain had she not heard the man's voice as clear as crystal.

"Why are you here?"

Hinata slowly raises her eyes to meet the eyes of the voice's owner. Pools of obsidian; it is indeed her captain. "Uchiha-taichou…?"

Her mind functions at a snail's pace, her eyes stuck to his, her feet nailed to the floor. She can feel her heart thumping painfully against her ribcage.

Why is she constantly having this weird sensations whenever he is around?

Palpitation, body heating up, excess perspiration, uncontrollable tears, and something, something familiar starts to pool between her thighs.

It is easy to identify now that she's had two back to back experiences when he was around.

And now, he is also around when it happens the third time.

Meeting Captain Uchiha does activate her heat.

The captain's eyes widen a fraction then he suddenly grips her wrist and pulls her with him to exit the building. She just follows willingly because, well, she is completely at a loss. Rather than fearing her identity as Omega being exposed at Anbu Headquarters, as what the most rational of the two prioritizes right now by dragging her in harried fashion, her heart fears about the fact that what her heat is activated by his presence implicates right now.

Since her body seemingly unavailable to follow his pace, an unsurprising finding while she is in heat, and they haven't advanced much by walking and are still within the expanse of Anbu Headquarters, he picks her up and carries her in his arms before proceeding to leap over the roofs of villagers' houses of Konoha.

She doesn't know where he is taking her. But she does know being held by him like this is awfully warm. Warm and comfortable.

All the time she is looking at his neck, his chin, at some point she is able to see his eyes staring straight ahead with a piercing gaze. It feels surreal when he looks down to check on her. It feels even more bizarre when everytime he looks down his gaze changes. Her cloudied mind can't properly word out what his eyes are trying to express.

It takes her to enter a modest and unfamiliar apartment to realize where he is taking her. He is taking her to his house.

Despite the summer, the air inside is cool. All walls are painted in light gray, monochrome furnitures occupy only the necessary places, the air inside smelled of parchment papers and fresh paint. The studio apartment gives off atmosphere of being unoccupied for too long.

Captain Uchiha lowers her on his double bed carefully and when her naked arms come in contact with the sheet, she doesn't flinch. The material feels cool and smooth, reminding her of her own silk sheet at home.

The captain proceeds to remove her boots gently, one leg at a time. The gentle act pricks her at the back of her eyes even though her tear glands have already been overworking.

"Why are you always looking for trouble?" he says suddenly as he works on her shorts fly.

Hinata shuts her eyes in shame when she feels her shorts along with her underwear being lowered to her knees, then removed off her legs. "I…I'm sorry. It shouldn't be like this…"

"Why are you sorry? This isn't entirely your fault."

At his words, Hinata's eyes widen and search for his eyes. But he isn't looking at her. His dark eyes are focused at only one place. The place that he has the privilege of seeing even though the owner has never had the chance to see it herself.

Isn't entirely my fault? She echoes inwardly.

Her mind halts its course though when he inserts a finger. Then a second finger. His other finger presses on her clitoris and she can't refrain her moans.

Her mouth may emit incomprehensible sounds, but her mind is on full gear of perpetual wonderings.

Why is he helping her? Does this count as helping? Why is she having another heat? Why is he always there? Does he know? Did he know?

Fated pair, huh?

She lowers her eyes to gaze at the man's face. His brow contorts in concentration, his lips pursed in a thin line, his cheeks…tainted with the lightest shade of pink. The sight amuses her. The usually deadpan captain can display expressions too.

This man… she smiles subtly, is possibly my fated pair, huh?

Thinking about the possibility brings her to a climax. Hinata bites her lips in displeasure when he removes his fingers.

Instead of feeling better and normally functioning, she feels no change on her body at all because the shift used to be extremely distinct. After two experiences of being successfully resolved solely by his foreplay, it finally comes to the time when her heat doesn't stop after the first attempt.

Why?

Her wondering prematurely stops and shifts into a panic attack when she sees the captain preparing to stand and probably leave her for good. Hinata doesn't know where did it come from, but for the moment she has the strength to rise from her lying position and the audacity to firmly hold his right arm and prevent him from leaving.

Captain Uchiha turns his head to her instantly, eyes slightly wide in mild surprise.

Hinata holds her gaze into his eyes. "Just this… is not enough." She gulps down her saliva. "I can't bear it…" she chokes, tears streaming down her face. "Do it… Please, do it with me."

With face of an apathetic mask, the captain tries to pull away but her grip only tightens.

"Hyuuga," he warns.

Her eyes search him wildly and catches the sight she previously didn't have the slightest bit of interest. Still with one hand gripping him tightly on the arm, her other hand reaches down to his growing member, veiled as a bulge that has suffered a lot.

If he wanted, he could easily pull away from her completely. But he only pulls away just to avoid her hand from touching him. "Stay away," he says through clenched teeth, his patience running thin. "Don't go any further. Or else, I won't be able to control myself."

But Hinata is even more assertive. She raises her eyes to meet his again. "Do it. I want to do it."

His eyes widen, something glints on them. The two stare at each other in silence, then after awhile he sucks his teeth in chagrin as if losing. "You can't take it back."

She all but nods.

Uchiha Sasuke finally smirks. "I won't hold back anymore."

Then he kisses her.
