"Rem, it's been two days, but on Earth, it has been two weeks. You already know that, don't you?" Sidoh asked the grey female shinigami, as he left his counsellor office. Since the king had given him a break from his duties, he went to see what his friend was up to.
"Yeah, I know"
"So... When you're gonna give Misa the delusional potion?"
"That's what worries me the most. I really want her to see the true side of Light and finally get over her hallucinations, but... She needs to touch her own death note while drinking the potion, and Takada has it. The problem is how I'll replace the death note with something else, so they won't find out. Don't you remember the conversation we had the day before yesterday?"
"Oh... Yeah. Hehehe" He giggled. "If you want, I can help"
"No need. You already helped me in finding a solution" The female shinigami said.
Sidoh approached Rem sliding his small feet on the ground. He was impressed by his friend's devotion to a common mortal. Something that shinigamis usually don't do. Although it was unusual for him, he found it cute.
"It seems you really love Misa"
"I do. She's like a daughter to me. A mother always sacrifices herself for her children"
"How do you know that?"
"I used to be a mother when I was still a human. I don't mean to sound dramatic, but I loved my children more than my own life. The last of my three children was a special need child though. I did my best in making them have the life they wished for"
"But, if you were such a good person, how did you end up using the death note to become a shinigami?"
"I didn't. I found my husband using the notebook. And if the people close to the user find out that he has the death note in his possession, they become shinigami too as soon as they die" Rem answered.
"How did you die?"
"By old age"
For a moment the two creatures didn't speak. Each of them immersed in their thoughts.
"Well, the main reason I came was Misa. I asked you if you need some help, but since you don't..."
"No, it's okay, I understand. It's difficult even for us who are gods"
"I just wanted to tell you that am in contact with a human from England. I think she could help us"
Rem turned her head along with her questioned face.
"Hm? What's her name?"
"I don't know her real name. She just calls herself Tina. She says she lives in an orphanage called Wammy's house, and she's the one who gives me these chocolates for free. She says she steals them from a blond guy called Mello"
"What does she have to do with Misa's case?"
"She's known for stealing stuff from others. She is the one who sets the best traps. No one can't find out! She's simply a genius!"
Rem's expression was both questioned and thoughtful. Shinigamis are not so usual in being friends with humans. Let alone Sidoh who is kind of a loner. Of course, she and Ryuk had already their contacts with a human, but that's because they have their death notes.
"So, Rem? Do you agree? Besides, we have nothing to lose. Maybe this young girl is our only hope"
"But... How can I trust her?"
"You can! I trust her first. She seems like a pretty reliable person"
"Hm..." Rem hummed.
"C'mon, Rem! Don't be so incredulous! I mean... It's good to be careful with humans, but not that much. At this point, we would need help from a human anyway. Sorry. An extremely smart human!"
"Well... Guess I have no other choice than to trust you"
"Now we're talking!"

The creatures arrived in England, and specifically in Winchester. A large and imposing building awaited them. It looked like a mansion from the '60s. They couldn't believe that what they had just seen was indeed an orphanage. And above all, the orphanage where L spent his childhood. It looked like a hotel to them. A luxury hotel in Los Angeles. Most importantly, a common mortal was waiting for them. A mortal who would give his services for the salvation of someone else's mortal.
They knew the children couldn't see them, so it wouldn't be a bother to take a look and see how the yard looks like. Or the entrance inside the building. Or even the rooms the children slept in. Anything they wish to satisfy their curiosity. That's what Sidoh suggested to Rem. She answered that they didn't come for tourism. Besides, he was the one who told her to come to Wammy's house and meet this person called "Tina". They had an appointment anyway.
A figure appeared to emerge from a corner of the building. A figure that looked human. It shook its hands in a way it said «come here». It was definitely her, so they went where they were told to go.
A blond and cute girl around her preteen years opened a door and closed it. The creatures could enter rooms without opening doors anyway.
"It's a warehouse. I came here not to be heard by others. Don't worry, they can't hear your own voices" The girl said. "I just gotta find the switch"
Her hand looked for the switch by touching the wall. She eventually found something that looked like a button. She pressed it and a bulb with a white flash switched on. The light was flickering.
"It stinks!" Sidoh commented.
"It's a warehouse, what did you expect?" Tina said.
"Actually... Before we start, may I see the shinigami he owns the death note?" Rem asked for permission.
"I don't have any death note, nor I own a shinigami as a pet"
"But, how can you communicate with us?"
"I made the deal with another kid in the orphanage and gave me the eyes"
"Another kid?" Sidoh wondered.
"His name is B. He has the shinigami eyes. He told me he was born this way, and obviously, this is a secret between us. His full alias name is Beyond Birthday"
"Interesting... You guys have strange names in here, don't you?"
"It's not the names. It's the orphanage itself. It is initially designed to be a training facility for gifted children. Most of us use aliases, and our real names are kept secret. This is because our identities are exposed. So in case a child eventually becomes a detective or an FBI agent, having a nickname to be covered it's safe. My own nickname is Tina or T"
"Oh... So that's why that guy Rem was telling me about it's called L. Makes sense!" Sidoh came to a conclusion.
"Well? What's the reason you wanted us to be met?" Tina asked.
And that's what they did. They explained to the young girl everything that happens around them. Of course, they didn't skip Kira's case, along with Misa's, and L's. Everything. From the worldwide killings of Kira to the love triangle L is being troubled with.
"Wow... I still can't believe it's true" She replied.
"You should have known about the Kira case. L is directly connected with the orphanage. You might have heard it somewhere" Rem said.
"No, I knew about the case. It's been a year since L got involved with it. Is just I can't believe he's in love. He always seemed emotionless to me. And the other girl, Misa... Poor her. Being obsessed with someone who doesn't love you back" Tina talked in a tone that showed pity.
"You can't judge a book by its cover" Rem pronounced the proverb.
"So? Will you help us? Do you accept using your talent in stealing stuff?" Sidoh asked her.
"Naturally! It is a chance for me! You see... The other kids say I'm not worth being at Wammy's because it doesn't fit the rules in stealing. That's just what they say! I'm certain it's gifting! Gifting from God. And now two gods can finally see it!" Tina said feeling flattered.
"I knew you would accept. After all, girls are more sensitive in love stuff" Sidoh said.
"Here's another chocolate for you, Sidoh! Ten chocolate bars this time!"
The blond girl took out of her jacket pocket ten bars of chocolate, with each of them having a different taste. Sidoh could not help but grab them at once. And so he did. Tina giggled softly at this act. It seemed cute to her.
Oh, please... Not another Ryuk! Rem said within herself, thinking that now Sidoh acted like Ryuk when he sees apples.
"Let's start making the plan now, shall we?" Sidoh suggested while he ate the first chocolate. Tina nodded smiling.
--«After twenty minutes»--
"Well, let's summarize" Tina announced.
"We set fire to the corresponding location. If they are home, we will burn the apartment. If they are somewhere else, we will set a fire there. Don't be scared. It won't seem like a conflagration! It'll be set somewhere specific. Somewhere that easily catches the eye. We'll see that detail when we arrive. This will easily grab Light and Takada's attention. They won't think about the notebooks at that time. But before we do that, we will have already made a copy of Misa's notebook from the printer in the principal's office. This way, the real notebook will be easily replaced by the fake one. Any questions?"
The two creatures looked at her full of questions and astonishment at the same time. How come a little girl does such things? Is that what he does when she steals other people's things? Does she set fires to manifest that behaviour? They wanted indeed to help Misa, but not this way!
"Are you sure, Tina? Isn't that a bit too much?" Sidoh asked. "You're a genius. I can see in your expression that you're a genius. But still..."
"I normally don't set up fires. This just seems like an appropriate plan, since Light is a genius too. Besides, the other plans seemed inappropriate for the situation"
"I personally wouldn't recommend it, young lady. You don't know what the consequences may be" Rem added.
"Relax, guys... That's just the introduction. Action will come soon!"
Okay... First of all, I don't live in ignorance. I know what I write and how I write. The truth is that I have left the framework of L and Misa. Not only their relationship but their feelings too. However, in order to have a complete picture of the ship, the puzzle must be made, since it's in the needs of the scenario. I believe that in order for a story to be interesting, not only it has to get involved with the main scenario, it must also cover other subjects. Probably topical ones. Like when with Hitoshi and his team who decided to fool the world for Kira's true identity. (and obviously, ruin this actor's fame)--If you're bored of the fic or confused, you can just leave it and wait until I finish. I write for myself anyway. As I like, and as I consider right. Besides, there are a lot of fanfictions out there that are 10 times better than mine. You don't read to read mine. Nor do I think I am J. K Rowling. I'm just a writer who tries her best. You will never see this from me: "My work is the best of everyone! I'm the best in this fandom" Just... No! XD I'm telling you this as a reminder.
