The young girl looked at her watch. A quarter to 11 in the evening. It was the perfect time to sneak into Roger's office, as the orphanage closed at 10:30 pm. Her footsteps echoed softly as she stepped on the wooden floor. Although she wore socks, she was still very careful not to be heard. She had re-entered Roger's office for a theft anyway. She knew exactly how this had to be done.

As she entered the office, she looked at the desk in the middle of the room standing in front of the window. How beautiful it looked in the moonlight. The full moon that illuminated the office like a stellar projector made her feel warm, safe and secure. How even in difficult times, the moon and the sun continue to shine and give life on Earth. That's what she thought while she held the door handle. She slowly closed the door and approached the desk walking on her tiptoes. Now all she had to do was find the desk lamp. She remembered she had forgotten to bring a flashlight. Luckily, however, she had the light of the full moon outside the window so this little spot of light would be able to help her.

Out of the corner of her eye, she succeeded to find a beige reading lamp on the left side of the desk. She pressed the button on the base of the reading lamp. The director's office was immediately lit through the beige cover of the lamp. She checked the door for any passing footsteps.

He must have notebooks in the cupboards. Gotta find a black one. At best, I could find cardboard and glue it as a cover around the notebook. I should also look for chalk to write "Death Note" on it. A white marker won't help. She thought.

The girl had one last sneak peek at the door.

Good thing I got a master key in case he comes to lock his office. How come he forgot to lock it?She wondered.

She approached the cupboards that were right next to the drawers. The cupboards in particular, were located in a larger wardrobe so Tina could easily hide in case of need. So the search began. She first searched the cupboards inside the large wardrobe. She didn't find anything relevant. In fact, she only found some clothes, underwear and some boxer shorts that were probably Roger's. Her face took immediately the disgusted expression, as she saw them.

She went to the next piece of furniture. The drawers. A large piece of furniture with about 20 drawers in a row. The search resumed. In the first two drawers, there were various pens, pencils and even photocopies of the names of the children of the orphanage. She felt a slight relief surrounding her as she would not have to look for a long time. She continued looking inside the drawers. She found books, old orphanage documents, newspapers, magazines or even documents containing the names and data of the children staying now. Until at some point she found notebooks of different colours. She smiled broadly after finding a black notebook. But after she checked it, she saw there were some random small drawings and symbols as if a child had drawn them.

Could it be... Is Light that smart? Will he suspect that this is not the real notebook and open it? Or should I wipe the drawings off with correction liquid so that they are not visible? Should I write random names? Nah... Maybe he'll realize this handwriting is not Misa's. I hate it when someone is smarter than me!She thought.

Anyway... I think I should find a correction liquid. You never know.

At that very moment, she heard footsteps coming from afar. At first, she thought it was her idea, but as the seconds passed by, the steps came closer and closer to the office. She looked at the door.

Crap!

Holding tightly the notebook, she turned off the reading lamp and rushed into the wardrobe. She closed it while she waited for the unexpected visitor to enter. And he was none other than Roger. Not that she didn't expect Roger to come. She was sure he would come at some point, but not so suddenly. She just heard his footsteps out of nowhere.

As she saw him entering his office, her pulse increased inside her veins. If the notebook had ears it would probably listen to her heart pounding, as she held it close to her chest.

"Damn, I didn't know I had forgotten to lock the office. Where did I put my newspaper?" He wondered as he turned on the light of the office.

He's an informed person... He wants to know all the latest news of the day even when he's supposed to be sleeping. She commented within herself.

"I remembered it halfway through. After all, who person would go back to their office in the dark of night to find a particular newspaper? Only me probably"

He looked at the corridor.

"Good thing everyone's already sleeping"

He started searching in the drawers. That's where Tina saw most of the newspapers. She held her breath hoping he won't open the wardrobe.

I'm not, here, I'm not here! There's anyone here. Look for your newspaper in the drawers! Not here! Go back!

Although she's skilled at thefts, Tina is always afraid of Roger. Mainly because he is slightly surly and sometimes he's not patient with children at all, especially when they're noisy. He may work as the principal of an orphanage, but it's not that he loved children. He just had to take care of them when Watari was working on cases with L. Now of course he was the permanent principle since Watari was dead.

"Oh, there you are! I thought I had dropped you somewhere. It'd be a pity if I had since I bought you yesterday" He monologued as he closed the drawer and looked at the key locker next to the door.

"I still don't understand how I forgot my keys... Seems like I'm getting old fast"

By exiting the office, Tina heard a characteristic noise. He had locked the room. She didn't have to worry since she had got the master key. The girl waited for the footsteps to start fading in the corridor, so she can get out without being heard. After a while, she finally left the office after locking it.

------

"Crap, I forgot to look for the correction liquid. Should I go back to the office? No, it'd be suspicious to make more noise if I have already woke up someone" She monologued as she held the notebook inside her bedroom.

"Now I have two options: Either I will search in my room for any chalk and correction liquid or I will wait until morning to steal some chalks and correction liquid from class. Hope it won't take too long..."

She recalled the story that Rem and Sidoh had told her. She never thought Kira's case would have to do with something related to preternaturalness. At the same time, however, she should not be impressed since she talked to shinigamis and had their magical eyes. And it wasn't just the case. She had also been impressed by L's feelings.

That man most of the children idolized for his high intelligence, that man who was thought to be selfish and cold, that man who was admired to be fearless, even he, was another victim of the Cupid's shots. She just couldn't imagine he saved a girl from being shot. That he injured himself for her. His injury may not have been very serious, but again, it's the act that counts. The girl understood that in the end, what they say it's true. That we should never judge people only by what they look like.

"All these the two shinigami told me, makes him sound cute. I wonder how he reacts to her presence. I've heard that when you like someone your body reacts as if you're scared or something" She giggled. Then looked at the clock hanging on the wall.

"I better get up early, otherwise Roger's gonna yell at me"

----«The next day»--

The two creatures of the rotten world of shinigami, and Tina were now in the storage of the orphanage. No one could hear them behind the closed door. Nor to enter of course, since they had been locked it up. The girl was explaining to them how she managed to find this black notebook.

"As you can see, I needed to find a correction liquid so in case Light opens it won't see those smudges. Fortunately, I found one in class along with a chalk"

"You asked them from your teacher, right?" Sidoh said.

"Nope. I stole them"

"Well... Shidoh was right when he told me you steal things from everyone and everywhere"

"Missing comments, Rem. This isn't as easy as you steal candies from a toddler. We're talking about a profession! It doesn't matter the theft itself, but how you steal! I'll return the stolen stuff after we finish"

The creatures didn't comment on anything else. After all, Tina's thefts weren't their own business. They just wanted her to serve them.

"Well, let's move on to our next move" Sidoh suggested. "What day is it today?"

"December 2nd. It's Thursday" Tina answered.

"Light might be on his classes. But most of the public buildings have an anti-nuclear system" Rem said.

"Relax, Rem! I already have the matches ready. I know exactly where to put the fire and how to light it up so that there is no conflagration. What kind of thief am I if I don't know how to set up fires?" Tina laughed feeling proud of herself.

**

Tina had never been to Japan. —How a 12-year-old would?— The huge buildings, the colourful streets of Akihabara, the sea of people the inhabitants see in their daily lives, the variety of gaming clubs, the karaoke clubs, the huge screens of the TV channels showing anime or dramas, all these were fresh to her infantile eyes. She uttered an exclamation of admiration and amazement.

As they arrived on the roof of the To-Oh university, the girl got off the grey shinigami and stretched her back. After all, the trip from England to Japan was tedious, let alone for a 12-year-old girl. Though they weren't aeroplanes, they transported the girl to her destination safely.

"Is Light taking his class?" She asked.

"I suppose" Rem answered.

"Let's not worry 'bout that. You might be tired. Would you like to drink some water, or just have a rest for a bit? The trip was way too long for a human"

"Yeah I'm a little tired, but all I need to do is to set up the fire. I'll be fine after that. What about you?"

"We're gods, kid. We don't get tired so easily. In any case, gods don't have the same needs as mortals"

"Okay, just tell me which class he is"

"A-8"

"Got it" The girl said. "Wait for me here. I'll be sure to hide somewhere in which I won't be visible at all, and the fire will be set. Get ready for action!" She stated and opened the roof door.

Tina went walked down the stairs looking at the space of the imposing building. She had never seen such a university, let alone in England. She actually had never been outside Winchester and she wouldn't expect a school trip or a trip from Roger. She gazed upon the room hoping she'd find an air duct. Her body was small enough to get inside. Only then would the plan be properly implemented.

She eventually found an air duct. Fortunately, it wasn't close to the ceiling but close to the floor. Good thing it wasn't that high, but how she would open it? It isn't a door, nor it needs a key to be opened. She tried to open it with her hands. It didn't work. She pushed it instead. Although the entrance was made of iron, it opened. Apparently, the girl had a fortune as big as a mountain! She crawled into the tube making the iron sound be heard by her body. How would she find Light's classroom? People don't usually go to their classrooms through a vent. She giggled at that thought.

Perhaps I could check every boy I see in the corridor, to make sure he's Light. Rem described him as tall with short brown hair, and that a girl with black hair sits next to him. I mean, everyone in Japan has black hair! How will I spot them? She thought.

She continued going through the vent making noise with her feet as she crawled. She obviously didn't know where she was going in this pitch-black hole, but wherever the vent leads her, she would still find the plan for the suitability of the space! For Misa's sake! And maybe L's...

Hello! Long time no see! This time things are getting more interesting!! Or "omoshirō" as Ryuk says. Don't worry, action comes in the next chapters! And probably some LxMisa stuff in the last chapters. Be prepared! ;)

If you don't remember the story well, feel free to re-read the last chapters or just ask me in the comments. It won't be a bother for me to answer :3
