"I hate boys," B'Elanna looked to see her youngest daughter slammed the door and throwing her bookbag on the floor.

"I hate boys, too," B'Elanna watched Selena look her way.

"You married one and had one," Selena made her way to the kitchen where her mother was drinking a cup of something warm and looking at a PADD.

B'Elanna shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know what I was thinking when I said yes, and I should have killed your brother when he was born."

Selena laughed and took a seat on a stool. "If you didn't marry Dad, you wouldn't have me as amazing daughter," B'Elanna lifted one eyebrow.

"An amazing daughter?" B'Elanna asked. All Selena did was smile. "I don't know about that."

"Come on," Selena reached for the cookies that were on the island. "If you had to chose between me and Xavier, who would you chose."

"I think I would have to go with Miral," B'Elanna got a cup of hot chocolate for Selena.

"Mom," Selena laughed.

"There was a reason I had three," B'Elanna smiled. Selena rolled her eyes. "So why do we hate boys?"

Selena blushed and looked around the room to make sure that it was only them in the house. "There was a boy in my science class, that I liked. I decided to tell him how I feel, and he told me that he would never date someone like me," There was a hurt look in her eyes. B'Elanna knew that look. She had that look when she was Selena's age. Selena thought that there was something wrong with her.

B'Elanna thought of the way her mother told her to handle it, that made B'Elanna keep her feelings in, and she grew to have a chip on shoulder. It made her relationship hard, she sometimes wondered why Tom didn't leave her in the beginning or even try to have a relationship with her. She thought that if she had to go through this with Miral, but she couldn't remember. B'Elanna thought that Miral would have found a way to do it on her own and Tom or her would have gotten a call from the school because Miral punched someone in the face. Miral would have told her he deserved it.

B'Elanna didn't seem to have this problem with Xavier, but it might be that he is male or had the Paris charm like his father. B'Elanna had seen her son with girls, and they all seemed to like him.

B'Elanna looked at her youngest. "I could tell you that you are smart, beautiful, and are confident, but you have to believe in yourself. My own mother told me that human boys aren't worth it, and I needed a Klingon warrior," B'Elanna leaned on the counter. "I could tell you that there is a boy out there for you and you haven't found him yet."

"What if I never find him?" Selena asked.

"Then follow your dreams and be an amazing woman that you could be," B'Elanna said. "Where is this all coming from?"

"It seems that Miral found who she wants to spend the rest of her life and Xavier doesn't seem to have a problem finding girls," Selena said. "I feel that I will never have that."

"You are sixteen and have your whole life to find someone. Yes, your sister found her future partner, D'stil is putting up a fight," Selena smiled. Her parents knew what Miral was doing. "I don't know where your brother gets this charm from, but there is going to be someone who is going to annoy him to the ends of the earth." Selena laughed.

"But what if…" Selena started.

"No more with the what if," B'Elanna sighed. "What do you want to do?"

"I want to be a doctor," Selena said. She was trying to figure out where her mother was going with this.

"Then be a doctor. I have a feeling that you are going to be amazing at it. There is more to life than finding the right person to spend it with." B'Elanna was almost shouting.

"You found Dad," Selena whispered

B'Elanna smiled. "I did, but I wasn't looking for him. A part of me thought that I would be single for the rest of my life. I also thought that no man in their right mind would want to be with me."

"So, Dad wasn't in his right mind when he met you," Selena smiled.

"Either one of us were in our right mind," B'Elanna smiled. "The thing was, out there in the Dela quadrant I wasn't looking for love, I just wanted to get home and would do my part in it." B'Elanna sighed. "The point I'm trying to tell you is live your life and sees what it holds for you. I only want you to be happy."

Selena got up and hugged her mom. "Thanks, Mom," She made her way to the stairs. She stopped and turned towards them. "I'm glad that either you or Dad weren't in your right mind, or I wouldn't be here," Selena grinned before running upstairs with her bag.

"So, I wasn't in my right mind falling for you," Tom said from behind her.

"No," B'Elanna smiled and turned towards him.

"Mmm," Tom placed his hands on the counter. Locking her in. "I can show you how much I am not in my right mind," He leaned down and placed his lips on hers.

B'Elanna wrapped her arms to around his neck. "I like that very much."
