Jonathan Archer sat in his ready room looking over reports. He wanted something exciting to happen like meet a new species or find a new planet to explore. It has been two months now. He would even take something happening on the ship that needed his help, but his senior staff had everything under control. He would even take a battle with the Klingons.

His chime went off and he looked up. "Come in," Archer watched his first officer and chief engineer come in. Jonathan wondered what this was about. He knew that they were seeing each other. Jonathan hoped everything was okay. He didn't mind too much about their relationship because their work didn't suffer. If Jonathan had to be honest with himself their work was even better. Maybe they were coming out with their relationship. He had always wondered why they kept their relationship a secret when they were both very happy about it.

He saw how compose T'Pol was and how Tripp took a breath before speaking. Jonathan saw T'Pol reach over and run a hand along his arm in recurrence. "Jon, I'm sure that you are aware of my new living space," Jonathan raised an eyebrow. Everyone on the ship knew. Tripp looked at T'Pol with a light in his eyes and a smile. T'Pol nodded at him. Jonathan thought he saw a small smile on her face. Jonathan shook his head because he thought that he was seeing things.

"I'm aware," Jonathan said when Tripp didn't say anything. Jonathan saw T'Pol eyes widen for a second before going back to normal. "Are you guys saying that you are in a relationship?" He asked them.

"Yes," T'Pol said. "Also, we are going to have a baby." She said it like she was giving him a report.

Jonathan looked down to T'Pol's flat stomach, before looking back at the couple. "How is that possible?" Jonathan asked. The last he knew Vulcans and humans couldn't have babies together. Tripp told him what had happen two months ago and what happen to them. Jonathan stood and paced behind his desk. "So, you are telling me that Tripp couldn't keep his dick in his pants for one night so we could have first contact with a new species. Now because what they did you two can have children," Tripp and T'Pol traded a look. They thought that it would go better than what it is now. Tripp and T'Pol knew that the whole ship knew about them. "Congratulations," Jonathan made his way around his desk and hugged his friends.

Tripp laughed and T'Pol let out the breath that she was holding. "You are funny, Jon," Tripp told his friend.

Jonathan laughed. "As your friend I'm happy for you. I would like to be made godfather," Jonathan took a breath. "As your captain, I have I have to report this to Starfleet. I don't know what will happen," Tripp and T'Pol nodded. Jonathan took a seat at the edge of his desk. "I want to know why you didn't say anything in the beginning," Tripp could hear the hurt in his voice.

"At first we wanted to see if we could work," Tripp said.

"We knew that you would have to tell Starfleet and we didn't want to put you in a position that you would lose either one of us. I'm your first officer and Tripp is your Chief Engineer," Jonathan raised an eyebrow because T'Pol just called Tripp by his name not Commander Tucker.

"If your work would have suffered, I would have called you out. If anything, your work got better. It might have to do with you getting your heads out of your asses." Jonathan crossed his arms.

"Captain," Jonathan could hear the shook in Tripp's voice.

Jonathan smiled. "It's true. I'll let Starfleet know and if there is anything that you need to know I'll let you know," Tripp and T'Pol nodded. They soon left the captain to tell Starfleet.

Two days later, T'Pol was on the bridge, trying not to asleep. She was trying to read the PADD in front of her, but nothing was making sense. She moaned and glanced down at her stomach. She knew that it was the baby that was making tired. She was ready to blame Tripp, but he has been very good about the whole thing. T'Pol knew that he didn't like when she had a shift on the bridge, he never said anything, she could feel it with their connection. She would kiss him to let him know that he had nothing to worry about.

She glanced around to see who was here, she saw Travis at the helm and Hoshi was at the communication station, neither one was saying anything, they both looked tired too. T'Pol wondered what was going on with them. She glanced between them and wondered what they had to worry about. They haven't had any trouble in a while and maybe that had them worry.

"Captain on bridge," The new Security Ensign said. The three senior staff looked over to see Captain Archer come on the bridge.

T'Pol stood so he could have his seat, but the captain waved her down. "Just walking through," He smiled at the Ensign. T'Pol gave him a look. There were others way for him to get to his ready room than walking through the bridge. He stopped by the captain's chair. "I would like to invite you and Commander Tucker to dinner tonight in my dining room" T'Pol nodded. She didn't see that being a problem. Tripp and she were just going to have dinner in the mess hall.

"I'll tell Commander Trucker," T'Pol said in a straight voice. T'Pol didn't miss the look that passed between Travis and Hoshi. Captain Archer finished walking across the bridge. He waved to the new Ensign before entering his ready room. T'Pol thought that the new Ensign might faint. "Get it together, Ensign," T'Pol told him. T'Pol heard laughing from the other two. "Don't you two have work to do," T'Pol tried to go back to her PADD.

"Yes, Commander," Travis and Hoshi said together. T'Pol gave them one more look before going back to her PADD.

"I wonder what Captain wants with us," Tripp said as they made their way to the captain's dining room.

"He didn't say," T'Pol said as she pressed the button to enter the room.

The captain was already there with the dinner plates. T'Pol and Tripp took their seats. T'Pol took a sip of water before asking. "What is this about?"

Jonathan was about to tell them when a crewman entered with their food. He smiled and waited for the crewman to leave. Jonathan took a couple of bites of his food before answering T'Pol. "I got a message from Starfleet today," Tripp and T'Pol traded a look. Jonathan saw Tripp grab T'Pol's hand and T'Pol didn't pull away. Jonathan took a breath before telling them what Starfleet had said. "Starfleet said that you would either have to marry or one of you would be transferred," Jonathan didn't want to give them the news. "I want you to know that I fought to keep you both here even if you weren't married. I told them how your work had improved since you been together, but none of that worked. They are worried that you would make rash decisions where either one of you is involved."

"We understand, Captain," T'Pol said. "I think this something Tripp and I are going to have to talk about," Tripp opened his mouth to say something but T'Pol took her other hand and placed it on his arm. He looked at her and nodded. Jonathan nodded at his friends.

T'Pol paced her quarters while Tripp went to get grab something from his old quarters. T'Pol looked around her quarters to see that it wasn't her quarters anymore, it was theirs. Tripp's things were around the room. She didn't know how they made it work with just small quarters, but they did. Tripp would be gone when she wanted to meditate, and she never had to tell him to leave. Their lives were one now and she knew that she would miss it if one of them left. She knew that they were going to have to get married because she didn't want to lose him and didn't want their child to miss out on their father.

The door opened and Tripp entered, there was nothing in his hands. She lifted one eyebrow in question. Tripp gave a secret smile that had T'Pol's heart melt just a little. She hated when he did something like that. She crossed her arms. "What did you need to grab from your old room?"

"I'm a moment, love," Tripp took a breath before speaking again. "This isn't how I wanted to do this," Tripp looked into T'Pol's eyes. He loved her eyes. He knew how she felt through her eyes. In the year since they really got together, he had learned that. "T'Pol, my love, I don't like that Starfleet is forcing my hand, but I wanted to do this before you told me about our baby," Tripp glanced at T'Pol's stomach. "I knew the moment you asked me to stay a year I knew then that I didn't want to live one moment without you."

"I know somewhere in your Vulcan logic you would say that we are already married because we have a bond or have been living together, but for this human I wanted to ask you. I was going to plan this right for you. I didn't want to ask so soon after you told me about the baby. I was going to wait until you were heavily pregnant and couldn't say no," T'Pol had to hold the smile that she had. "I will give you any wedding you want. If you want a traditional Vulcan wedding, we can or we just have the captain marry us in his ready room. I do whatever you want but this right now is for you.

Tripp got down on one knee and pulled out a little box. "I know Vulcans don't have engagement rings, but this ring was my great-grandmother's," Tripp opened the box and reveal a small diamond ring. "T'Pol, I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want to watch our babies grow up and to find the love that I have found with you. I want to grow old with you and tell our grandchildren on how you wouldn't give me the time of day." Tripp looked up at T'Pol. "Will you do me the greatest honor and let me be your husband?"

T'Pol nodded because she couldn't get pass the lump in her throat. She knew her emotions were getting the best of her, but right now she didn't care. "Yes, I'll let you be my husband, as long as I can be your wife."

Tripp stood up, placed the ring on her finger. It was a perfect fit. Tripp leaned down and kissed her. "I love you," He whispered against her lips.

T'Pol wrapped her arms around him. "Why don't you show me," She reached between and pulled the zipper of his suit down. Tripp didn't have to be told twice as he lifted her to their bed.
