Tripp whistled on his way back to his new quarters. He had gotten a call from engineering, and they needed him. He was a little glad to get out of his quarters. He loved his wife and new son, but he needed a moment to himself. T'Pol and him had been in their quarters since Charlie was born. They only left to go to the mess hall or sickbay for appointments for Charlie. Tripp almost jumped out of his seat when engineering needed him. He saw the look on T'Pol face as he left. The problem in engineering only took fifteen minutes to fix, but he spent an hour in his office. He took a nap and just relax because there wasn't a baby crying. He was glad that Jonathan gave them a couple of months off so they could get used to having a baby, but he needed a moment.

Tripp opened the door to his quarters to find Charlie in his bassinet with his eyes opened. He reached for him. Tripp reached for his son and picked him up. "Hey, Four," He mumbled to his son. He didn't know when he started to call Charlie Four, but he liked it. It also annoyed his wife.

"Please don't call your son that," Tripp turned around to see his wife sitting on the couch with her eyes half closed. Tripp made his way over to her and kissed her lips. He only smiled and sat down next to her. "How was it? You were gone awhile."

"It was fine," Tripp settle Charlie in his arms.

"It must have been nice to go somewhere that not the mess hall or sickbay," T'Pol sighed.

Tripp looked at his wife. She tried to keep her emotions in order since Charlie was born, but they would get the best of her sometimes. Tripp saw how exhausted she was. He wondered when the last time that she meditated or had a good sleep. She has not been working for six weeks and he knew that was taking a toll on her. After Jonathan told them that they were at war with the Romulans, T'Pol also started to get worried. She tried to figure out how they were going to raise a baby when they were at war. And then Jonathan had told them to take two months off and not to worry. Tripp knew that didn't go over very well with T'Pol because she knew that Jonathan needed his first officer. If Tripp had his way, he would send both T'Pol and Charlie to Earth to keep them safe. He also knew that T'Pol would have none of it.

"T'Pol when was the last time you had a moment to yourself?" Tripp asked in a quiet voice.

"I don't know," T'Pol leaned her head against the back of the couch.

"I think that I'm going to take Four to Uncle Jonathan's," T'Pol rolled her eyes at him because of the name. "You are going to meditate, take a shower, and take a nap. Four and I will meet you tonight at the captain's mess hall for dinner," Tripp stood and handed Charlie to her.

"But," T'Pol said after him as he made his way to Charlie's room. "He's going to be fed before that." Tripp came out with a bag on his shoulder, and he was putting diapers in the bag.

Tripp made his way to where they kept bottles and formula. T'Pol was nursing him, but they were also giving him formula. He threw a couple of bottles in the bag. "I'm sure I can feed him."

Tripp picked up the blanket that Charlie like and put it in the bag. T'Pol sighed. She knew that she wasn't going to win. "Do you have extra clothes for him, just in case," Tripp patted the bag to say that he did.

"I also have cloths for him he spits up," Tripp closed the bag. Tripp picked up Charlie. He leaned down and kissed his wife. "Take a moment. You need to take care of yourself too. Four, say goodbye to mommy," Tripp leaned Charlie over to T'Pol so she could give him a kiss.

"Tripp don't let anything happen to my baby," T'Pol said as he made his way to the door. Tripp only smiled as he left.

Tripp ring the bell to the captain's quarters. He heard Jonathan tell him to enter. Jonathan smiled when he saw Tripp and Charlie. "What brings you here?" Jonathan took the baby as Trip set the bag on the floor.

"T'Pol needs some time for herself. So, I thought that I would visit my friend. I haven't seen in a few weeks." Tripp took a chair. Porthos came over and sniffed the baby that Jonathan was holding.

Jonathan smiled. "You are just in time for the latest water polo match," Jonathan handed Charlie back to his father and turned on the screen.

After a while, Jonathan looked over to see that Charlie was sleeping in his father's arms. He looked up at Tripp to see that he was watching the game, but there was a protective arm around his son. It seemed like he has done this before. He didn't know how Tripp and T'Pol spent their evenings with a baby, it seemed like he has done this before. "How do you like fatherhood?" Jonathan asked.

A smile spread on Tripp's face; Jonathan could also see how tired he was in his eyes. "I love it," Tripp looked down at his son. "He is one of the best things that happen to me," Tripp ran a finger along Charlie's ear. "He might look like me, but all I see is his mother."

Jonathan nodded he didn't know what to say. He could see how much Tripp loved his son and his wife. Jonathan only saw Tripp in the baby, but then he wasn't spending every moment with the baby like Tripp and T'Pol. He knew that they had a babysitter set up for when they start working again. He smiled as he thought about his first officer.

"How is T'Pol doing?" Jonathan asked.

Charlie started to fuss, but Tripp started to rock him. "She is taking it well, but she can't wait to get back to work. She worried that you need her," There was a light in Tripp's eyes that Jonathan felt something was missing in his life. "She is great with Four," Tripp was going to say something, but Jonathan interrupted.

"Four?"

Tripp smiled. "Yeah, I started to call him that and T'Pol doesn't like it," Jonathan had a feeling that T'Pol didn't like it. He would make sure that he never called Charlie that. "He is Charles Tucker the Fourth." Jonathan shook his head at his friend.

Jonathan turned back to the game when Charlie let out a cry. Tripp handed the baby to him, before going in the bag and pulling out an empty bottle. He went to the bathroom and filled it with water, came back and pour formula in the bottle. He shook the bottle, set it down, took the crying baby, and settle the baby to be fed. Before Jonathan could say anything, Tripp was watching the game again. The only thing that came to mind for him was wow.

After the game, they went to the captain's dining room. They thought that they would find T'Pol already there, ready to take her baby from their father, but she wasn't. The food was placed on the table and there was still no T'Pol. Tripp was starting to get worried. "Here," He handed the baby to Jonathan. "I'll be right back," Before Jonathan could say anything, Tripp was gone.

He looked down at the baby that was looking up at the captain. Jonathan hoped that the baby didn't start crying. He didn't know what to do. He saw that Tripp had left the bag. "Please don't cry," Jonathan said. Charlie looked up at him. With the look that Charlie was giving him, Jonathan could see T'Pol with that look. He could see where Tripp would say that he sees T'Pol in the boy. The baby was saying, I'm my mother's son, too.

Jonathan was glad when Tripp came back. He was glad to hand the baby back to Tripp. Tripp only smiled. "I see nothing happened while I was gone."

Jonathan nodded. He looked towards the door. "Where is T'Pol?"

Tripp started to eat with one hand. "Sleeping. I tried to wake her, but she was out."

Jonathan nodded and started to eat his own meal.

T'Pol woke to the sound of her son crying. She looked over to see that Tripp was next to her. She got up to see that Charlie was in his bassinet at the end of the bed. She saw the tears rolling down his face. She picked him and looked at her husband to see that he was up. "Go back to sleep," She whispered as she headed for the door. "I'm going to him feed him." Tripp only nodded.

T'Pol made her way to Charlie's room and sat in the rocking chair that Tripp insisted they have. T'Pol was glad that she listened to him about it. T'Pol got ready to fed Charlie. It didn't take long for Charlie to latch on. T'Pol watched him for a second as she thought about what amazing husband she had. He knew what she needed.

After Tripp left with Charlie, T'Pol stayed on the couch for a moment enjoying the quiet before getting up and making her way to her meditate area that Tripp had made for her in their room. She spent about an hour meditating and it had felt good to do it. After Charlie was born, she only had time to meditate for a couple of minutes because she was waiting to hear if Charlie was crying. She knew that Tripp could handle their son, but she wanted to make sure that he was alright.

After meditating, T'Pol took a long shower. It also felt good. When she was only use to a quick shower since Charlie birth. She got out of the shower and put on some pajamas before crawling in bed for a nap. She must have missed dinner because she didn't remember getting up to eat and her stomach let out a growl. She also needed the sleep.

She looked down at Charlie to see that he was done. She lifted him and started to burp him. He let out a big burp. T'Pol resettled him in her arms before started to rock him to sleep. She saw that his eyes were and closed her eyes. She was asleep again.

"T'Pol," Tripp shook his wife awake. She looked up him with her beautiful eyes.

T'Pol's eyes widen when she felt the ship shake. "What is going on?"

"The ship is under attack from the Romulans," Tripp said. T'Pol saw that Tripp was only standing there in his pajama bottoms.

T'Pol looked down at their son. This was the first battle with the Romulans since Charlie's birth. Charlie didn't like the noise and started to cry. T'Pol started to rock him. He wouldn't settle. She didn't want to die, and she didn't want to lose her son or husband. T'Pol looked up at Tripp, who held out a hand.

"Come on," Tripp said. T'Pol took his hand. He pulled her up. He led her to the storage area where they kept Charlie's things. He pulled out a shelf on the bottom of the storage. The shelf became a door. "Get in," T'Pol gave him a look. She was going nowhere until he told her where she was going. Tripp sighed. He knew that he should explain. "When I was making this room, I knew there were going to be times that we were going to be battle and I made this space for the safety of our family. If the ship is boarded, they won't know about the this. The room is strong and soundproof. Get in," T'Pol would have to thank her husband later for thinking about this. T'Pol climbed in and waited for Trip to get in but he didn't.

"Are you coming in?" T'Pol asked.

"No, I'm going to see if engineering needs me," Tripp smiled. "I love you," Before T'Pol could say anything, Tripp was already closing the door.

A light turned on and T'Pol saw the room and it was small, but it was perfect to hide them. She made her way to the opposite wall and started to settle Charlie. She felt the ship shake as they were hit. T'Pol glance down at Charlie to see that he was asleep. She pulled him close as she worried about his father. She wondered if he told anyone about the safety area because if something happen to him, would anyone know that she and Charlie were here.

She didn't want Charlie to grow up without his dad. She knew that he would miss something. Now that Charlie was here, he needed at least one parent to live. She was used to being on bridge with the senior staff, making decisions about how to get out of this mess. Right now, T'Pol didn't know what to do and could only think of the worse. T'Pol closed her eyes because she could lose more than her husband. She could lose her friends. She wouldn't know if anyone was alive until it was all over. She took a breath and started to breath in and out and wait until her husband came back for them.

"T'Pol," T'Pol opened her eyes to see Tripp sticking his head in the room. "Everything is okay. You and Charlie can come out now." He held out his hand for her to take. She took it and he pulled them out.

T'Pol looked over husband to if he was alright. He didn't have a scratch on him. She threw an arm around him. Tripp took her in his arms. "I didn't like not knowing if you were going to live or not," She let him go. "At least on the bridge I can hear your voice telling us you are okay." Tripp smiled and leaned down to kiss her. Tripp glanced at his sleeping son before looking back at her. "Also, does anyone else know about this?" T'Pol pointed to the safe room.

"Yes, Malcom and Jonathan both know about it," Tripp took her hand and pulled her out of Charlie's room. "So, if something happens to me or you, they know where to find us. I'm also going to tell Crewman Edgerton about it, so if she is with Charlie, she can stay safe with Charlie."

T'Pol nodded. "So, what happen?"

Tripp laughed as they entered the main part of the quarters. He sat her on the couch and told her what happened.
