Selena stood in front of a house that was built in the eighteenth century. "It's not much but it is home," Stephen said from beside her.

"Not much this house is big," Selena said. Stephen smiled before grabbing their bags and led them up to the front door. The door opened without them saying anything.

Stephen smiled at the man who opened the door. "Thanks, Malcom."

The man nodded. "Master Stephen."

"Please have our bags taken to my room. Where are Mum and Dad?" Stephen asked.

"Very well, sir. Your parents are in the family sitting room." Malcom said.

Stephen took Selena's hand and led her to the back of the house. They passed many doors. Selena looked at the pictures on the wall. One of the doors was open and Selena glanced in to see a library that she might have to check out later. Stephen stopped in front of a big door. He didn't knock on the door, just opened it. He pulled Selena in after him.

Selena saw an older woman who had dark brown hair and the same eyes as Stephen. The older man in the room was Stephen's father. Selena could tell where Stephen got his looks from. The woman stood and made her way to Stephen. She hugged her son. She leaned back and really looked at him. "You are still as handsome as ever."

"Thanks, Mum," Stephen smiled. Stephen let go of his mother to hug his father.

"How is Starfleet treating you?" His dad asked.

"Good, Dad," Stephen smiled at his parents. "Mum, Dad, I would like you to meet Dr. Selena Paris. Selena these are parents Sean and Laura."

Selena smiled at his parents. "Hello Mr. and Mrs. Parker," Selena watched as they looked her up and down.

They smiled at her. Selena could tell when it didn't reach their eyes. "Hello, Dr. Paris." Laura said.

"Please call me, Selena," Selena felt out of place here. This was nothing like her home in San Francisco. Selena knew that her parents made Stephen feel welcome in their home. Her dad wasn't happy that Stephen was sharing her room, but her dad knew that she was an adult and could make her own decision.

"Paris," Sean Parker had a look on his face. "I feel that I have heard that name before."

"My family has been in Starfleet for generations. My siblings and I are the next generation to entered." Selena said. Stephen father still looked confused. "You might know my grandfather Admiral Owen Paris."

"Ah, I have heard of him," Sean nodded. Selena nodded. "You have some big shoes to fill," Sean glanced at Selena's ridges.

Selena smiled. "I'm not trying to fill those shoes," Selena narrowed her eyes. "I only wanted to be a doctor and Starfleet gave me that opportunity."

"It was probably easier to get into Starfleet medical with who your family was," Sean had taken a seat.

Selena wanted to laugh. "I did get into Harvard and Oxford when I applied. I thought that Starfleet was what best for want I want to do," Selena wanted to cross her arms.

"What is it you want to do?" Laura asked.

"I like to study mixed species and see how they work," Selena said.

"You are a mixed yourself," Laura looked at Selena's ridges.

"Yes, my mother is half human and Klingon. My siblings and I all have the ridges on our foreheads." Selena crossed her arms. "Excuse me," Selena made her way to the door and stepped out. There was a servant standing there. "Is there a backyard or garden here?" The servant pointed to right of Selena. Selena smiled and made her way there. She found a bench and took a seat.

Selena took a breath. She didn't think that she would have to defend her family. She could tell that Stephen's parents didn't like her and it was because she was mixed species. You could see the ridges on her forehead. She was proud of being Klingon. She loved spending summers on Q'onoS and learning about their world. Her sister married a Klingon. Selena had seen the way D'stil looked at her sister and their children. Selena let out a laugh. She wondered what Stephen's parents would think if they knew that her brother had married a Bajoran and had a daughter with her.

"I'm sorry about my parents," Stephen took a seat next to her. "I don't know where that came from," He wrapped an arm around her. "They never have acted that way before."

"They have never thought about having half breed grandkids," Selena said.

"What is there something you are not telling me?" Stephen sounded shocked when he wasn't.

"Trust me. There is no little Parker inside me," Selena nudged his shoulder.

"I love you always remember that and know matter what my parents say they don't know my heart." Stephen turned to Selena to face him. He kissed the woman he loved.

Selena woke in the big bed. She reached for Stephen and didn't find him anywhere. She stretched in the bed and thought how Stephen had worshipped her body. She loved that man. Selena got up and headed for the bathroom. She showered and dressed before heading downstairs to find some food.

She was passing the library when she heard. "We don't think that she is right for you. What about Jennifer?"

"Jennifer. We didn't work. I wanted to join Starfleet; she didn't want to be with someone who was gone all the time. I never loved Jennifer the way that I love Selena. She wants me to live my dreams."

"Are you thinking about marrying Selena?" Laura asked.

"Yes, mother. She sees me for me not the son you wanted." Stephen shouted at his mother.

"Think about what your children are going like," His mother said.

"What so they will have ridges. It will just show their heritage of coming from proud warrior people. Don't you say that we came from great warriors? So, their heads will show that. It doesn't matter because Selena and I will love them." Stephen said.

"Welcome to the family," Selena turned to a man that was a little older than Stephen.

"Hello," Selena said. She saw a ring on his finger. "And you are?"

"James. Stephen older brother," James Parker smiled.

"Stephen talks about you a lot," Selena said.

"He's talks about you a lot," James said. "Don't let my parents scare you away. They tried that with my wife, Chelsea and they thought that she would make a great wife for me. Chelsea was here to stay and now we have two beautiful daughters," Selena could see how proud he was of his family. "I hear the way my brother talks about you, and you are here to stay. He never brings girls home."

"Thank you," Selena liked Stephen's brother.

"James," Stephen said as he saw his brother and hugged him. "What are you doing here?"

"Heard my brother was back in town and wanted to invite him and his girlfriend to dinner," James looked at Selena. He saw when Stephen put an arm around Selena.

"We would be honored," Stephen said.

"Great," James put his hands in pockets. "I'll let Chelsea know. I will see you tonight." James nodded when he saw his mother. "Mum, you don't like the woman that Stephen brought home. She is going to be the mother of your grandchildren," James kissed his mother on the cheek before leaving.

Laura gave her son and Selena a look before heading down the hall. Selena watched her leave. "I heard what you said to your mother," Selena wrapped her arms around Stephen's neck. "I love you so much," She kissed him. "So, what are we going to do until dinner with your brother?" Stephen leaned down. "I have a few ideas," He kissed her lips.

Stephen knocked on his brother's door. They didn't have to wait long before the door opened. Selena didn't see who opened the door until she heard. "Uncle Stephen," Selena looked down to see two beautiful girls. They had blond hair and bright hazel eyes. Stephen bent down and hugged the girls.

The door fully opened, and Selena saw James and his wife. Chelsea. The girls looked like their mother. James smiled at them. "Girls, let Uncle Stephen in." The young girls let them in.

The couple led them to the sitting room. The girls went to the pile of toys in the corner. "Please take a seat. Dinner will be ready soon," Chelsea said. Selena and Stephen took a seat. Chelsea smiled at Selena. "Hi, since neither one of the men want to introduce us," She glanced at the men as they were talking. "I'm Chelsea Parker, wife of that man there," She pointed to James.

Selena laughed. "I'm Selena Paris, girlfriend of that man," Selena pointed to Stephen.

"Are you related to…" Selena was ready for Chelsea to saw something about her grandfather or some Paris that was in Starfleet. "Tom Paris."

"Yes, he is my father last I checked," Selena was wondering where this was going. She wondered if she was a fan of his holonovels.

"Wow, that must mean your mum is B'Elanna Torres," Selena nodded. "I always love the story about Voyager."

"Really," Selena said. Voyager was before her time. "I know it was big when my parents came home, but I didn't think that someone your age would know the story."

"Yeah, I saw the holonovel that Tom Paris did, and I love it. Did you meet Admiral Janeway and Chakotay?"

"Yeah, they just show up for family BBQs randomly," Selena smiled.

Chelsea's eyes widen. "Wow. So, you have met the whole crew?" Selena nodded.

"Yep, Harry Kim is our captain," Selena said.

"I know," Chelsea smiled. "I told Stephen to get me an autograph from him."

Selena laughed. "I might have better luck."

"Oh, no, I want to meet them," Chelsea laughed. Selena laughed.

"I don't see that as a problem. If you and James can make it, my parents are having a BBQ before the ship leaves again with their friends," Selena said. Chelsea started to jump up and down in her seat. Selena laughed. "I only going to ask you that act normal because they are just regular people."

"I won't go all fangirl on them," Chelsea smiled. Selena smiled. She is going to like Stephen's sister-in-law.

They were soon called to dinner. James made sure that his girls were in front of the adults as they made their way to the dining room. Selena took Stephen's arm as they walked to the dining room. "I didn't know that your sister-in-law was a fan of my parents," Stephen smiled like he knew. Selena hit him on the arm. "You knew," Stephen laughed.

He leaned down. "I can't wait until she meets your parents." Selena hit him on the arm before taking her seat.

Dinner passed and Selena liked Stephen's brother and his family. It was his parents that didn't like her. Chelsea pulled her aside before they left. "I know James' and Stephen's parents can be difficult, but let me tell you something, they just don't like losing their sons. It was their parents that introduced me to James. They didn't think we would fall in love quickly and marry as quickly as we did. I see the way Stephen looks at you and he loves you. He is not going to let you go."

"I won't," Selena said. She glanced at Stephen as he said goodbye to his nieces. "I love that man too much."

"I can't wait to have you in the family officially," Chelsea smiled.

Selena laughed. "So, you can say you know the crew of Voyager."

Chelsea laughed. "That is only a plus," The woman hugged. "We'll see you next weekend at the BBQ your parents are throwing." Selena nodded.

Stephen took her hand and they left soon after that.

It was the last day that Stephen and Selena were going to be in England before leaving. They had spent most of the week with Stephen showing Selena the places he loved in his country. Selena loved that she got to know this part of the man she loved. They had spent a few dinners with his brother and family. His parents were nice to her, but they still didn't like that their son chose her for his partner for life.

Stephen was putting their bags in the transporter that was taking them to the station, Selena took a moment to find his parents. They were in the family sitting room. She stopped in the doorway. "I know you think I am not right for your son, but no one is ever going to love him the way that I love him. He is everything to me, one day we are going to get married, and maybe have kids. I would like you to be there for your grandchildren, but if you can't, I understand. I will make your son happy," Selena looked at them before turning around and walked out of the house.

She smiled when she saw Stephen holding out his hand for her to take. She took his hand and he helped her in the transporter. They soon left England behind and made their way to California.
