"Sir, we are coming up to an M-class planet," Hoshi said.
"Can we see what their technology is like?" Jonathan asked.
"I think we can," Travis said as he pointed to the view screen and there was a ship in their view.
"They are hailing us," Hoshi said.
"Put them up," Jonathan said.
An alien's face appeared on screen. Jonathan could see that their eyes were bigger, and their ears were smaller than normal. He gave them a smile. "I am Captain Jonathan Archer of Starship of Enterprise."
It took a moment before they responded to them. "I am Captain Xuls Bhakie of the Olzot. Where are you from?"
"Earth. What is the name of your planet?" Jonathan asked.
"Gistea," Captain Bhakie said. "Do you have a family?"
Jonathan could see that they held having a family in high regard. "No, I consider this my family," Jonathan waved a hand over his crew.
"Not the same. My family helps on the ship," Captain Bhakie said. "I will ask you to leave our space," Captain Bhakie waved his hand across his neck to break communication with Jonathan.
"Wait!" Jonathan shouted. "My first officer has her family here."
Captain Bhakie looked back at Jonathan. "Really?"
"Yes," Jonathan didn't think that it would be hard to get T'Pol up here. He turned to Hoshi to call T'Pol. "I can get her up here in a few minutes," Captain Bhakie nodded.
"I'm getting no answer from her quarters," Hoshi said.
"Try again," Jonathan said through a forced smile.
"I am," Hoshi hissed back.
Jonathan turned back to the captain to see that he wasn't happy. He could tell that he was having problems getting T'Pol up here. "Sorry, she just had a baby last week."
Captain Bhakie eyes widen. "Really," Jonathan nodded. The captain smiled. "That is understandable. If your first officer and her family can make it to dinner with the Minister of my land that would be a great honor for us."
"I will ask them," Jonathan said.
Captain Bhakie nodded. "Please let us know," The video was cut off after that.
Jonathan took a breath. "Let's us hope that T'Pol and Tripp can do this, or I feel that we will be asked to leave their space."
"I think that it would be best if you go and ask them," Hoshi smiled. Jonathan nodded. He knew that she was right.
Jonathan stopped at the Tucker's door and ring the chime. He didn't have to wait long before the door opened, and Tripp stood in front of him holding a little bundle and holding Charlie back. Tripp smiled at him.
"What can I do for you, Captain?" Tripp asked.
"I need to talk to you and T'Pol," Jonathan said.
Tripp nodded and let him into the quarters. Jonathan looked around and saw what a mess it was. There were bottles cleaned and unclean around the room. There were also toys and books on the floor. Jonathan also saw old coffee cups around. Jonathan looked at Tripp and saw several days grow on his face. He still didn't see T'Pol anywhere.
"Where is T'Pol?" Jonathan asked.
"Taking a nap," Tripp smiled. It had Jonathan wondering when the last time that Tripp slept.
"Does Crewman Gomez help?" Jonathan asked.
Tripp laughed. "She was but a few days ago she received a message from Earth where her mother is sick, and she had to head home. She left two days ago. She should be back in a few months. Also take a seat," Tripp pointed to the couch.
Jonathan looked at the couch to see that he had to push things out of the way before sitting. He opened his mouth again, but the bundle let out a cry. Tripp tried to calm the baby, but it wasn't working. Jonathan watched as Tripp tried to give the baby a bottle, but it didn't work. Jonathan looked at one of the doors as it opened and T'Pol came out of one of the bedrooms. T'Pol didn't know that Jonathan was there and grabbed the baby out of Tripp's arms. She turned to face the couch and saw Jonathan.
"Captain, what are you doing here?" T'Pol got the baby settled in her arms. Jonathan was surprised that T'Pol could get the baby settle and Tripp couldn't.
"I needed to talk to you and Tripp," Jonathan watched as Tripp got a chair for T'Pol to sit. He waited until T'Pol and Tripp had taken a seat. Jonathan took a breath. "We encountered a new culture, and they won't talk to us because we don't have families. They were ready to get rid us when I told them that our first officer has a family on the ship. I know that you have the next couple months off, but I was wondering if you could contact them. They want to have dinner with your family tonight."
"Our whole family," Tripp had picked up Charlie and put him on his lap. Tripp looked from his son to his wife to his new daughter.
"Yes," Jonathan nodded. "Or we are going to have to leave their space."
Tripp and T'Pol traded a look. "Mama, Papa," Charlie looked up at his parents with toy in his hand. He held the toy out for his father to take. Tripp took the toy and fixed it before handing it back to Charlie.
"Sir, do they know that we just had a baby?" T'Pol looked down at her daughter, who was waving her hands at them.
"Yes, they seemed happy about it," Jonathan said.
The couple traded a look and Jonathan knew they were thinking about it. Tripp sighed. "We will do it."
Jonathan thanked the couple and got up to leave. "Thank you," He said as he stood by the doorway. The Tuckers nodded.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Tripp asked T'Pol as they finished getting ready for this dinner.
"Yes," T'Pol put a wrap around her body to hold T'Mir. T'Pol looked down at Charlie to see that he was in a little suit that his grandparents had sent them.
"Okay," Tripp put some bottles in a bag for T'Mir. He checked the bag to make sure that they had everything for the kids. T'Pol picked up the sleeping baby and put her in the wrap. T'Mir didn't let out a cry as she settled against her mother. Tripp took a sigh. They were as ready as they could be. Tripp held out his hand. "Charlie, it's time to go," Charlie stood and took his father's hand. T'Pol led the way out.
They made their way to the shuttle bay and saw the captain and some of others there. Travis came out of the shuttle. "The shuttle is ready to go," He smiled at Tripp and T'Pol. It had been a while since anyone saw them. Hoshi and Malcom were looking at the new baby on the ship.
"She is beautiful," Hoshi said.
Malcom turned to Tripp. "Well, we know that that she didn't get her good looks from Tripp," Malcom laughed at his friend's face.
"She does prefer T'Pol over me," Tripp mumbled. Malcom and Travis laughed. Tripp felt someone tugging on his hand and looked down to see Charlie looking up at him.
"Papa, where are we going?" Charlie asked.
Tripp sighed and looked over at T'Pol to se that she was talking with Jonathan about the dinner. "We are going to dinner on Gistea," Charlie gave his father a confused look and Tripp didn't blame him.
"Papa, are Uncles Jon, Travis, and Malcom and Aunt Hoshi coming?" Charlie asked.
"No," Tripp said. He was wondering where the twenty questions was coming from. Tripp bent down to Charlie's level. "Just you, me, Mama, and T'Mir."
Charlie looked over to his mother to see that she was talking to Uncle Jon. "Why not?"
"Because they want to meet us," Tripp smiled.
"No," Charlie crossed his arms. "I want to stay here with my uncles and aunt."
"Charlie," Tripp warned. "They want to meet the whole family and you are put of this family."
"I don't want to be part of this family," Charlie ran away and hid behind a pole.
T'Pol broke off the conversation with Jonathan when she heard Charlie shouting. She glanced at Tripp to see what was going on. Tripp stood and sighed. He made his way over to where Charlie was and bent down to his level. Tripp looked at his son to see that he was his mini me. Tripp could see the intelligent in Charlie's eyes. He knew that he got that from his mother.
"Why don't you want to be apart of this family?" Tripp asked.
"You and Mama have T'Mir, you don't need me," Tears pooled in Charlie's eyes.
"Oh, son," Tripp reached out and tried to gather Charlie in his arms, but Charlie pulled away. "Your mama and I love you very much, but the baby needs us just a little more right now. You can do things that T'Mir can't right now," Tripp reached out and tickled Charlie. Charlie let out a laugh. It was music to his ears. "You can laugh," Charlie laughed again. Tripp tried again and pulled Charlie into his arms. "I love you," Tripp said against Charlie's blond hair. Tripp kissed him on the top of the head before pulling back. "Come on, Mama is waiting," Tripp stood and held out his hand for Charlie. Charlie took his hand, and they made their way around pole back to the others.
T'Pol gave Tripp a look. "Is everything okay?" She asked. Tripp nodded.
"Thank you for going," Jonathan smiled at them. Jonathan bent down and spoke to Charlie. "Even you," Charlie smiled.
Tripp led them on the shuttle. Tripp put Charlie in one of the seats as he took one of the front seats. T'Pol took the seat next to him. Tripp started up the shuttle and turned towards Charlie. "You need to stay in your seat while we are flying," Charlie nodded. The shuttle bay doors opened, and Tripp flew the shuttle out of the ship.
Half an hour into the trip, Tripp heard. "Can I sit up there with you?" Charlie asked.
Tripp turned to say no when he saw that Charlie was getting out of his seat. "Charlie, you need to sit down."
"Why?" Charlie asked, he was almost off his seat. "I want to sit up there with you and Mama."
"Mama and I don't want you to hurt yourself," Tripp tried to reason with his son.
Tripp thought that was it and started to turn around to make sure that they were going in the right direction. Charlie got out of his seat and started to make his way over to him and T'Pol.
"Charles Tucker, what are you doing?" Tripp and Charlie both looked at T'Pol. T'Pol was looking at Charlie. She was waiting for an answer.
"Coming by you and Papa," Charlie stopped and looked at T'Pol.
"I think that Papa told you to stay in your seat," T'Pol sighed. "It is only logical that you do what Papa says."
Charlie frowned, went back to his seat, and climbed in. T'Pol watched him the whole time. Charlie crossed his arms and gave his parents looks. Tripp had to turn around, so Charlie didn't see him laughing. T'Pol gave him a look before checking on T'Mir. Tripp looked over and saw that T'Mir was still sleeping with one of her hands on T'Pol's breast. Tripp looked back to make sure that they were going the direction that the Olzot gave him.
"Are we there yet?" Charlie asked. Tripp thought that they were good, and Charlie was going to behave himself for the rest of the ride, but that didn't happen.
"No," Tripp said.
"When are we going to be there?" Charlie asked. Tripp had thought that his no was done with this conversation.
Tripp look at the counsel and saw that they still had about twenty minutes until they reached their destination. "Twenty minutes," Tripp told Charlie.
"That's long," Tripp turned to see that Charlie was giving him a look. Tripp traded a look with T'Pol and maybe she knew what was going on. T'Pol just shrugged her shoulders.
"Yeah, we'll be there before you know it," Tripp said, He turned around again.
Tripp took Charlie silence as a good thing and continued to fly the shuttle. It didn't take long to see the landing pad for the shuttle. Tripp landed the shuttle and saw many people standing around the shuttle waiting to say hello to them. Tripp took a breath and turned to T'Pol to see if she was ready for this. T'Pol nodded. Tripp got up and went to Charlie. He kneeled in front of his son.
"I know that you don't want to do this, but I'm going to need you to behave for Mama and me," Tripp said to him.
"Okay, Papa," Charlie wrapped his arms around Tripp.
Tripp stood with Charlie and gave T'Pol a kiss before exiting the shuttle.
