T'Pol woke to silence, she looked around because she was used to T'Mir's cries waking her up or Charlie coming into their room and waking them up, but there was none of that today. She glanced over and saw her husband was trying to sleep, but he kept moving. If he was sleeping, he wouldn't be moving, and she would hear him snoring.
T'Pol got out of bed and reached for her robe to slip it on. She looked at Tripp one more time before heading to the bathroom. She changed before going to mediate, she was going to have to keep her head today. She couldn't be worrying about her children, she had to have her mind on this battle and make sure that they won this.
After she meditated, she went to shower because this might be the last shower that she will have for a while. She came out of the shower to see that Tripp was up and out of their room. She wondered if he was already checking on his engines or grabbing something to eat. When she exited her room, Tripp was entering with two cups, he handed her one. T'Pol took it and knew that it was her favorite tea.
"Thank you," T'Pol said as he took a sip of tea.
Tripp nodded. "After I shower, we'll head down to the mess hall for breakfast," Tripp headed into their bedroom. T'Pol took a seat and waited for her husband to come out.
It didn't take long for Tripp to come out all clean. T'Pol wondered how long this was going to last. They took a breath before leaving their quarters where there were so many memories and they hoped that there would many more to make.
Tripp and T'Pol entered the mess hall to hear that the only noise they could hear was the sound of eating. A lot of people weren't talking as they ate. Tripp and T'Pol got their food before sitting down to eat. T'Pol noticed that many were eating just to eat. They were going into battle soon.
After breakfast, Tripp and T'Pol left the mess hall. T'Pol was needed on the bridge and Tripp in engineering. Before they went their separate ways, Tripp pulled T'Pol into an empty hall. He looked around before pulling her into his arms and kissing her. T'Pol let out a moan and wrapped her arms around him. This might be the last time that they touched each other. Last night they had made love like it was their last time. Tripp broke the kiss.
"I love you," Tripp said before letting her go. T'Pol ran her hand over his face and Tripp leaned into her touch. He could read her eyes and knew that she was saying the same thing to him.
T'Pol made her way to the bridge, saw that everyone was there, and she took her seat. Captain Archer gave her a nod before turning to Ensign Sato. Hoshi knew what he wanted. "All Starfleet ships are ready."
Captain Archer nodded. "Tactical Alert. Ensign Mayweather, take us in warp two," The captain took a seat in his chair.
Ensign Mayweather only nodded before putting the ship in warp two.
"We are coming on Cheron," T'Pol said.
"Take us out of warp," Jonathan stood up and placed a hand on the back of Travis chair.
"It looks like six ships are on poral," T'Pol said. "There could be more hiding."
Jonathan nodded. "Open a channel to the other Starfleet ships," Jonathan said to Hoshi.
"Done," Hoshi said.
"To all the other ships, let's begin." Jonathan made a slashing movement and Hoshi closed all channels.
The Romulan portal ships saw them. "They are getting their weapons ready," Malcom said.
"Take out the lead's weapons," Jonathan yelled at him.
Malcom fire at the ship. "Their shields are up," The ship shook. "They just hit us. Our shields are down to ninety-six percent."
"Fire again," Jonathan yelled.
Malcom kept hitting them until their shields were down before they knew it the ship was down. The other Starfleet ships took out the other five ships. They knew that it wasn't over, but they took a moment to breathe before T'Pol said.
"More ships are coming from around the planet, and I am seeing others come from the planet surface."
"Open a channel to Colombia," Jonathan said without taking his eyes off the screen.
"The channel is open," Hoshi said.
"Tell them to take five other ships and start on the planet surface," Jonathan said.
Hoshi did as she was told. On the view screen they saw the Colombia breaking away with five other ships. "Fire at the lead ship," Jonathan told Malcom.
The battle was going on for an hour and Starfleet had lost a couple of ships. The Romulans ships kept coming from the other side of the ship. Enterprise was taking a lot of damage. "Where the hell is the second wave?" Jonathan yelled. Hoshi was about to open a channel when T'Pol said.
"They are here."
"Tell them to get to the other of ship and stop them from getting over here," Jonathan yelled at Hoshi. Hoshi nodded. They soon saw some of the Vulcan's break away and head to the other side of the planet. The Andorian ships went and helped the Colombia take out the planet. The Tellarites ships started to help out the Enterprise and the other Starfleet battling the Romulans ships.
"Sir," Travis said as Jonathan was pacing the bridge. He was trying to keep an order at what was going on.
"What?" Jonathan snapped.
"We are cornered," Travis pointed at the screen.
Jonathan stopped pacing and looked at the view screen and swore. "Can you get us out of here?"
Travis smiled. "I think that I can," Travis went forward so he was close to both ships as they were firing in them.
"Shields down to sixty-four percent," Malcom yelled.
"The Romulan ship is closing in," T'Pol said. "They are firing at out warp nacelles."
"Shut up," Travis mumbled and the only person that heard was Jonathan and the captain smiled.
"Shields down to fifty percent," Malcom yelled.
Travis knew that he had to ignore his shipmates as he flew straight up making the two Romulans ships crash into each other. "Now that is how you do it," Travis smiled.
"What the hell is going on up there?" They heard Tripp yell through the comm.
"Getting out of a tight spot," Jonathan told him.
"Well stop it. My engines are taking a killing," Tripp mumbled.
Jonathan let out a little chuckle. "We'll try our best," A smile graced Jonathan's face for moment before turned back to the view screen.
It seemed that it was the never ending of Romulan ships. Jonathan didn't know if they were going to get out of this. It looked like a Starfleet ship needed help. They were battling two Romulan ships. "Ensign Mayweather, make for that ship," Jonathan pointed out the ship. Travis nodded. "Lieutenant Reed fire phasers at their weapons," Jonathan walked over to Malcom's station.
"Their weapons are down," Malcom said.
Jonathan nodded before walking away. "Keep firing on them," Jonathan stood by the captain's chair while the ship blew up. Another Starfleet ship took out the other ship.
"Colombia is hailing us," Hoshi said.
"Put them through," Jonathan said.
Captain Hernandez's face appeared on the screen. "We have taken out the base," She said as her ship shook. Jonathan nodded and they gave each other a look before the screen went black.
Jonathan had a feeling that the Romulans were going to make a last-ditch effort with their base out. Jonathan watched as it seemed the tide of the battle was turning for them. Jonathan took a breath and opened his mouth to say something when the ship shook.
"Port side hit," Malcom yelled. "Shields down to twenty-eight percent."
"Shit," Jonathan said to himself. "Fire at the ship," He shouted at Malcom. All Malcom did was nod.
"We have lost shields," Malcom yelled. "Our port nacelle is out."
"Get me engineering," Jonathan yelled at Hoshi. Once Hoshi nodded. "Tripp, we are down to one nacelle, can we get out of here?"
"Really," Tripp hissed. "We are not getting out of here then," Tripp mumbled.
Jonathan moaned. "Get a team on it right away."
"Yes, sir," Tripp said. Jonathan had a feeling that Tripp was going be on that team. Jonathan took a quick glance at T'Pol before turning back to the view screen.
It looked like the Romulans were on a suicide mission because they knew that they were losing. The planet was in flames. Whatever the Colombia hit had a set a fire around the planet. Jonathan was glad that they didn't have any men on the ground. No this was a battle fought on a ship.
"A Romulan ship is trying to board," T'Pol said. "On the port side."
Jonathan turned to Malcom. "Get a MACOO team there and have weapons ready," Malcom nodded and sent out the order. Jonathan hit the comm button "Tripp have your team ready with weapons the Romulans are trying to board."
"Yes, sir," Tripp voice sounded muffled. Tripp was on the team to the wrap nacelles. Jonathan didn't need to look at T'Pol to know that she was worried about her husband. He was worried about his friend and Chief Engineer.
"The ship is attached," T'Pol said I quiet voice.
Tripp turned the corner to see the air lock turning green. He traded a look with Major Laramie to see that he and his men were ready for a fight. "Phasers at the ready," He told his men. "To kill," His men nodded.
The airlock door opened and a Romulan stepped out but was down before he could get a shot off. Tripp knew that it was a MACCO person. The Romulans pulled their man out of the way before they started firing at them. They hit a MACCO before they started to fire at the Romulans. They couldn't hit one because they were well guarded by the door.
Tripp saw a path to the door, but the Romulans were going to see him. Tripp looked over at the major. "Cover me," He mouthed. The major nodded.
The MACCO started firing at the Romulans while Tripp took his men through the firing. The Romulans started firing and Tripp knew that they could be hit. He didn't need to be hit or any of men. Tripp made it to the other side and a Romulan saw him and his men. The Romulan told someone behind him before he started firing at Tripp and his team. Tripp saw one of his men fall. They couldn't get to him. Tripp started firing at the Romulans, killing the man.
The Romulans knew that they were firing on two fronts. They had two choices to continue fighting or to retreat to their ship and leave the Enterprise. Tripp could see their minds working. Tripp didn't know how their culture worked but he hoped that they would retreat so he could get his man.
The Romulans started to retreat, Tripp stepped out to get his man when he was hit. He fell on top of his man. He could feel the burn on his arm. He fired off a few shots as the Romulans before the doors closed. Tripp grabbed his arm to feel the blood coming out. He ignored his arm and checked on his man. Tripp knew right away that he was dead.
"How are things down there?" Jonathan's voice came through the comms.
Tripp stood and found a comm before answering. "The Romulans are gone. We lost two people. Many are wounded." Tripp took a look around and saw how many were injured.
"Make your way to sickbay," Jonathan said.
"Yes, sir," Tripp said.
Tripp looked around and saw that many were helping with the injured. He helped with one of the MACCO. They made their way to sickbay to be treated.
Jonathan watched as the Romulans were retreating from the fight. He saw them going into wrap. Once they were gone, he waited a few hours to see if they were really gone.
"Captain," Hoshi said. "The Romulans would like to talk surrender," Jonathan nodded.
"I'll take it in my ready room. Travis, take us out of here," Jonathan turned to T'Pol. "You have the bridge." T'Pol nodded.
Jonathan was making his way across the bridge when Hoshi said.
"Captain Hernandez is wondering if we need help getting out here."
"Tell her yes and that we need to make a stop on the way home," Jonathan smiled as he left the bridge.
