Hi guys! It's been 3 years since but yes, I have finally returned with a new story. WOOOO! So if you guys have heard of my previous story, the ghost hunter of halkeginia, good, but I decided to scrap it because it isn't working out and I had to sort my thoughts out on a proper crossover, not to mention I hated kamen rider ghost as a show. Therefore with this revival of this series, I do have a rough idea of where this is going. So I don't think I shall talk any further, because this story's ending is for me to decide.

Disclaimer: This story is mine, the respective works belongs to the original writers.

Halkeginia.

A continent in a alternative world from earth. It houses five nations, Germania, Tristain, Gallia, Romania and Albion.

It's also a world full of magic and it divides people into two sides. Like a medival setting, those who use magic are classified as nobles, and those who don't, are commoners, or plebians. Magic also comes into several elements as well, with nobles using various forms of elemental magic.

These five nations have a long standing history and mostly stand divided due to political views, in which wars have occurred on masses of lands before. However, there were six nobles, who gave their lives to form a alliance, in which they swore to protect the world against any corruption. In turn, they were known as the knights of the sword of logos. Until then….

Nobody knows if this peace could last…

"This way!"

A boy led two girls across what seems to a battle around them.

The girls shrieked as bodies fell among them before the boy led them to a alley, as they hid.

"Are we going to be safe?" One of the girls asked.

"I'm scared, Laos." The other girl hugged the boy as she trembled.

"It will be fine. I promise I will be your knight!" The boy replied as he held his fear in.

It was a peaceful day as the three kids had met up to play. They were in the middle of playing hide and seek when a stone landed near them and exploded. This caused other people around them to scream and flee.

Monster like creatures arrived at the town and began swinging their weapons relentlessly at the people, as some carried books among them. But the monsters weren't just aiming for random people.

"N-no! stay away! AHHHHH" A man cried out as he was sucked into a book from a monster.

"Eeek!" The fearful girl squealed as she held the boy tight.

"Henrietta!" The boy called to the other girl as she turned around. "Can we head to your castle?"

"S-sure." Henrietta gulped. "But how are we going to get out of this mess?"

"I have an idea." He wanted to move but the fearful girl was clinging onto him.

"Don't be afraid Louise. I will make sure we can evacuate to the castle safely. Trust us." Laos assured the girl.

"Laos is right. Together we are stronger right?" Henrietta smiled.

"O-ok…" Louise slowly nodded before she slowly let go of the boy.

Laos then looked around for possible items that can defend themselves. After searching, he could only find a broken pallet and a wooden sword, which has its hilt broken off too, but the blade was intact.

"Ok. Stay close to me. Got it?" Laos said and the girls nodded.

The three kids then slowly exited the alley, as the battle had already moved inwards. They looked around and saw the damage done to the town they are in. Tables were overturned. The buildings had burnt marks, indicating that some nobles had tried to resist, only to be defeated mostly. And smoke was visible in the area as well.

"What were those monsters? Why did they attack this small country?" Henrietta looked in horror as she could not believe that her nation was left like this.

"Whatever they were, they sure weren't nice. Let's go." Laos replied as the three began walking.

Slowly, the sounds and the commotion drew closer as they saw the monsters continuing their advance, sucking up random nobles and by accident, some commoners too.

They snuck up behind walls in order not to get detected. In the distance, they can see the castle. It was quite a walk away still, but, the boy never gave up as they continued to slowly move in.

The army guards were deployed as the monsters slowly approached the castle, as they drew their swords and guns, ready to fight and resist if needed. The monsters, however continued to use their books to suck people into it. Which could only mean a glimpse of hope would turn this battle around.

The kids continued to move in, following the monsters. If there was any by chance, they need to fight back, then naturally the boy, armed with wooden weapons would serve as a distraction while the girls try to make a break for it.

However, it all spoke too soon as Louise turned around to check for any people behind them, only to see a monster behind them, with a book ready to be opened.

"KYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!" She screamed loudly as the other two, along with the soldiers and monsters turning around.

"This is bad!" Laos gritted his teeth as he saw the monster with a knife in its hand ready to strike down. Thinking quick, he pushed the girls clear from him before raising his wooden pallet and sword.

The knife came down, and broke both the pallet and sword. The monster than turned and kicked the boy into a wall, sending him into it.

"Grahhh!" The boy coughed as saliva came out of his mouth, as he gasped for air.

The girls turned their heads up and watched in horror as the boy screamed in pain from the monster.

"LAOS!" The girls screamed his name.

"The princess is there!" Shouted one soldier not too far away, alerting the others.

"Get the princess and the other two!" Someone ordered as some of the soldiers charged towards the monster. The soldiers yelled out battle cries as their weapons clashed with the monster. However, the monster, feeling no pain from the strikes, turned around and opened a book, sucking the soldiers in. With the soldiers gone, the monster turned its attention to the boy before it was hit by a rough tiny stream of water. Looking back, it saw Henrietta, now possessing a mini wand in her hand, her other hand shielding Louise.

"Get away from Laos!" Her voice trembled slightly with fear. But she didn't want to see her two friends die from an attack from a monster.

The monster approached the girls as Henrietta continued to send tiny streams of water, giving the monster no pain before it swatted away the wand, and grabbed the tiny girl's hand. It then slowly lifted her up. As Louise watched her friend trying to pry the monster's hands open, she was quivering with huge fear, unable to do anything.

"Release Henrietta at once!" Laos, from behind commanded as he grabbed onto the monster's hand. But the monster simply swatted the boy away as it prepares to open another book, ready to suck the girl in.

Henrietta looked at the monster fearfully, before accepting what was her possible fate.

Just then, a stream of flames flew from the air, and landed near the monster, catching the kids attention.

The flames circled around a figure inside before it dissipated, revealing a knight clad in a unique red, white and black armor. A dragon's head rested on the right shoulder, with a belt in the shape of a scabbard attached to the waist, with what seems to have a red open book sits on one of the three slots. A silver blade sticks out of its helmet with flame like eyes in the shape of a 'x'. And most importantly, the knight was wielding a sword with a flame style hilt on it, with strange lettering on the blade.

The monster looked at the knight before turning pale as the knight drew into a stance with his sword before charging forward, slashing the monster, and shielding the boy. The monster suffered hits and tumbled to the floor, before it disappeared into pools of purple water.

The knight then rushed forward and caught the princess before setting her down onto the ground.

"Are you alright?" The knight asked.

The girl nodded as Louise came out and hugged her tightly. Henrietta returned the hug as they looked the at knight, who turned to the boy.

"When there is despair, Hope exists." The knight then stabbed his sword into the ground, before the area around them enveloped in a bright light.

"Laos…" Louise called out as she slowly opened her eyes, the sunlight blinding her vision slightly. Squinting her eyes, she slowly got up and stretched, yawning at the same time.

Ten years had passed since the attack that left her and her two friends horrified. But nevertheless, they slowly recovered from it and continued to grow up. Now a sixteen year old girl, she was studying in the most prestigious school in her country, the Tristain academy of magic.

But things had not been going well for her. Even though she recovered from the attack, her fear continued to consume her, till the point that in the academy, her magic powers were close to nothing. And every since her enlistment, she had been ridiculed by not only her class, but the entire school. And she earn a simple nickname, 'zero'.

'Zero' because of her magic ability.

But even so, she managed to study well enough to earn herself passable grades to advance to her second year, in which it starts today. Getting herself off the bed, she visited the bathroom to brush her teeth, before returning to her room to get her academy uniform. After a few minutes of brushing her long wavy pink hair, she put on her uniform, and equipped her wand to a strap on her thigh. As she slowly made her way to the door with her book and pen, she turned to a photo frame sitting at a small table, which was decorated with other photo frames.

She took the frame that was placed in the middle before giving a pure smile.

"I'm off, Laos." She then placed it back before walking out of the room.

The photo frame was a picture of herself, Henrietta and Laos.

As she walked down the hallways, she began to think in her mind, about the dream she had.

'It has been so long, and the dream continues to haunt me. I wonder why'

When the light died down, the knight had disappeared. But the main thing was, Laos wasn't there too. Although she and Henrietta were safe, even though the area still had visible damage, their friend had disappeared completely. Ever since then, the girls were closer than before, and each day, they thought of their missing friend. Eventually, the ministry that was in charge of each registered name that resided in Tristain wiped off the boy's name, and issued a presumed dead title to him, making him a victim of that attack as well.

But to Louise, her thoughts for the boy continue to linger, as she prayed each day that somehow by chance, he would return to her.

"Ow!"

Without looking ahead, Louise had banged into someone as she and the other person fell down. Wincing her head, she looked up and saw who she banged into. And she didn't like who she saw. A red haired woman who had tan skin and wore light brown thigh high boots.

The woman was someone who gave her the 'zero' nickname.

"Zerbst…" Louise growled slightly as she slowly packed her items up.

"Watch where you are going, zero!" The now named slowly stood up.

"More like you! Can't you see I was thinking?" Louise snapped back as they collected themselves and began walking.

"Sorry, I didn't know you were reading my mind to begin with." Zerbst snickered playfully.

Louise ignored her as they continued their walk to their classroom. Zerbst was a rival to Louise ever since their enlistment to the academy, and day after day, they had a few magical duels, although their level of respect was of an acceptable level. The red haired at one point delved into her past by accident, and ever since then, gave her room for thoughts as she knew how it was like to lose a beloved. But it was Louise's rebellious attitude that ticked her off at times, that it prompted her to give her the 'zero' nickname.

"Still thinking of him? No matter how many times you keep thinking, he isn't coming back." Zerbst said.

"Shut up. Laos was someone special to me. I just want to believe that he is still alive." Louise replied.

Without knowing their walking speed, they arrived at their classroom.

For the rest of the day, Louise and her class were introduced to their academy teachers for the year, and began their lessons. As the day went on, the teachers had the students did practical and theory work. As for Louise, her mood became sour as when a teacher picked her to do the practical, another student would butt in, giving her no chances to perform or get any better at her magic. It was till to the point where it came to the lessons of alchemy that she insisted to do it. The students cowered behind the tables as the teacher was curious, but nevertheless allowed the proceedings to continue.

And Louise's spell ended in a explosion, which charred the classroom she was in, and it also sent the teacher into spirals. She once again faced ridicule from her classmates, including Zerbst. Composing herself, she returned to her seat before being summoned by the principal of the academy.

And things ended well, with the principal forgiving her, as the teacher, who happened to be newly employed at the academy was not aware of her magic power. After being dismissed, she headed down to her room when she saw Zerbst and two other girls accompanying her.

"So then, how did it go? Expelled?" Zerbst teased.

"The teacher was new so there's no punishment." Louise simply replied as she made her way past them.

"Well then, I'm looking forward to tomorrow. To see what you can do." Zerbst said.

"The familiar summoning right? I have confidence." Louise crossed her arms before pointing to her.

"I will make sure that what I summoned is far better than anyone's!" The pink haired declared before continuing to make her way to her room.

It took quite a while, but eventually she arrived at the door of the room. Opening the door, she entered the room and got herself undressed. After settling down and putting on her nightwear, she plopped herself on the bed.

'I will make sure that what I summoned is far better than anyone's!' She thought back to her declaration. It may seem a great declaration, but to her magic abilities, she may not be able to summon a familiar after all.

"I shouldn't have said that…" Louise muttered in her pillow before turning around and looking at the photo frame sitting on her table. Immediately, the thought of her friend came to mind.

"How I wish you were here…Laos…" She said as she turned around, snapping her fingers as well to turn off the candle on the dining table before drifting asleep, but what she didn't knew was that she sobbed quietly as she slept through the peaceful night, unknowingly to her conscious that she was actually traumatized by what happened that day ten years ago, and to her, no one could sympathize for her.

The next day came, and it was time for the familiar summoning ritual. Louise woke up early, dressed herself neatly and made her way to class.

As she walked down the hallways, she felt the nervousness building in her. Because this was a very important day to her as a noble, she cannot afford to screw this up. She wasn't exactly worried about not being able to summon a familiar. She was worried about the type of familiar that would appear before her. Whatever she summoned would stick her for life, until either hers or its death. So, it would count on her luck to summon something majestic, or something that to her could be considered ugly.

After arriving at her class, a few others followed. The students were talking among themselves in groups, all excited and bragging away about what familiars they could get. Some even placed bets on who would get the more attractive one. As for Louise, she simply sat at her seat with her hands cusped together, praying in her mind she would not get anything weird.

Soon, a bald headed teacher, whom the class knew as Colbert, having taught the class before in their first year, took the class attendance before he has the class move to an open field at the academy.

After everyone had gathered, he cleared his throat for the students to quiet down before beginning to talk "Welcome everyone then to your second year. Today, as you know is your summoning ritual. It is a sacred day each year that we at the academy take to see that each batch of students in their second years summon their familiars. Now remember, the familiar you summoned will serve as your partner for the rest of your life as part of a noble's family. Regardless of what you summoned, us as teachers will go easy on you, as part of your exams too. So, remember, use your mind and wish on what you want, and the familiar will appear before your very eyes."

Colbert then cleared his throat once more. "Now then, whoever wants to go first may do so."

And with that, the summoning rituals began. The students gave space to the one who came forward to conduct the rituals. As one by one came up, different types of familiars appeared before their respective masters. Louise, who was watching all this felt nervous as each familiar summoned so far was not considered weird and ugly to her. Cats, dogs, bird types like sparrows and parrots, and some with monsters like a bugbear like the guy whom she saw just summoned was considered alright to her.

But the next student whom completed her summoning made the pinkette swallowed her confidence. The student, who was a blue haired girl just summoned a dragon, which made everyone completely shocked, including Colbert.

The next student, who was quite pompous and narcissistic, summoned a mole. And when her rival, Zerbst, went up and did the summoning, summoned a fire salamander, which could rival the dragon as the coolest familiar so far.

Louise's face went pale as she gripped her wand tighter, praying as hard as she could.

"Now is that everyone?" Colbert asked, having lost tracked of his students as familiars of all sorts surrounded the field as well.

"Nope. Valliere is the last one." Zerbst said as she looked at the pinkette, who reacted.

"Okay, Miss Valliere, come to the center and do your summoning." Colbert instructed.

Louise was now all nervous. Everyone is going to look at her when she, of all students, couldn't do proper magic. But nevertheless, she brushed it off, and hoped that at least with this ritual, she could pull something off. She clapped her cheeks and made her way into the center, where everyone could get a proper view.

"Alright, you can begin." Colbert said.

Louise nodded before she looked at her rival, who in turn looked at her.

"I hope what you say is true last night, that you can summon something more majestic than, for example, mine." Zerbst petted her familiar, who made a noise and nodded too.

"N-naturally. Just watch." Louise gripped her wand tighter as she held it up.

"My servant, who lives somewhere in the universe!" She called out, which made all the students questioned themselves.

"What kind of spell calling is that?" A blonde haired girl asked. She was one of the girls present with Zerbst the previous day.

"W-well it is unique. If it works, it works." The narcissistic pompous boy replied.

"Oh sacred, beautiful and strong familiar spirit! Here I desire and plead from my heart! Answer to my guidance!" Louise chanted, as she waved her wand and pointed forward.

A few seconds passed, only for the spell to suddenly explode once more, which sent students coughing from the smoke.

"I knew this would happen!" Called one of the boys.

The pompous boy also coughed and addressed the blonde girl. "Are you alright, Montmorency?"

Montmorency ignored his question as she stared forward before slowly pointing at Louise.

"Look, Guiche" She replied.

"She actually summoned…wait what?" Guiche looked as the smoke cleared.

He saw that in front of Louise, was a human male. The male seemed slightly older, and had short black hair with swept bangs. And his outfit definitely didn't match the academy uniforms that they wore, nor it was flashy. He was wearing a buttoned shirt with collars, covered by a red jacket. He also wore long pants with covered shoes. On the grass was a bag lying beside him.

"A H-Human?" Zerbst gawked.

"It's a commoner…" A boy commented.

"Yeah… no doubt, it's a commoner." Guiche remarked.

For Louise, she did not care what the others had said, for she was in disbelief as well the most. The spell did worked, but to summon a human male was what considered to her, the worst of all.

"T-this is the s-scared, beautiful and s-strong….?" She stuttered as her eyebrow twitched repeatedly.

"Thank you. Thanks for choosing our service." A man happily said as he held out some money to another man who took the money.

"It's a pleasure." He bowed as he then began to walk away from a shop that he was at.

The man was in his 20s, with short black hair with swept bangs. He was wearing a buttoned shirt with collars, covered by a red jacket. He also wore long pants with covered shoes. He was also carrying a pile of papers along with a sling bag.

The pile of papers contained a story that the man wrote, as he is a novelist. He looked at the cover with his name stamped on it.

'Written by Eugene Brooks'

Smiling like a fool as he drew looks from others, he said to himself "This story is going to sell. I can't wait!"

Eugene stuffed the papers in his bag before looking up and stopped in his tracks. He was staring at a green oval that was in front of him. Rubbing his eyes to make sure he was not seeing things, the oval still was in front of him.

'Why is it nobody is noticing this weird thing?' He thought as he looked around. People were just chatting away or walking past him, ignoring him.

Seeing a gap beside the oval, Eugene decided to ignore the oval and walk past it, but however, as he reached the side of the oval, he was knocked backwards, which made the young man completely perturbed.

'What in the...' He then decided to go backwards, but after walking a few steps away, he was knocked back again by the same invisible force.

'So there's no way out?' He tried to do the same thing but again it did not work. Resigning his solution, he looked at the oval and decided the only way was to maybe walk through it.

He approached the oval and stopped short. Raising a finger, he tested to see if it was safe. And true to his thinking, his finger did get absorbed into the oval. But just then, the oval suddenly extended out and seemed to grab his arm.

"E-eh?! Someone! Help!" The man cried out but people were just completely ignoring the fact that he was getting sucked into something weird. He tried to resist it but the oval's strength was stronger and soon, it overwhelmed him with a glow of light.

The oval had sucked him in, as it disappeared completely afterwards, as people went about in their daily lives.

As he floated in a void, he saw his bag still on him.

"W-where am I?" He muttered.

Answer to my guidance!

"Who's that speaking?"

And the last thing he saw was the void opening up before he blacked out.

The young man slowly opened his eyes as he scanned his surroundings. He was lying on grass and was surrounded by people he did not know. Birds were singing as well as he saw the people were wearing matching outfits, which he concluded that he was in a school probably. The males and females wore white shirts, with long pants for the males and skirts for the girls. Cloaks draped over their shoulders with a golden brooch that was decorated with a pentagram. He looked behind him and saw a towering building made out of stone, giving him the impression of a medival style building.

"What the hell… Wait, where am I?" He asked to himself.

"You." A voice said, getting his attention.

He looked up to see a girl slightly younger than him, with long pink flowing hair and matching colored eyes. They were natural looking instead of being dyed. She also wore the same outfit as the girls around him.

"Who are you?" She asked.

Louise was perturbed completely, but even so, she hoped to get some answers from him.

"English…no it is not?" The man said, but to her, he was speaking weirdly.

Next thing to the girl, the people began to snicker.

"Oh what you said really came true, except that you summoned a commoner. I'm proud of you." Zerbst sarcastically remarked as the class burst into laughter.

"Hahahaha, Louise the zero at least summoned something, but it's a commoner, hahahaha!"

"Stop it, you will hurt her, hahahaha!"

"Shut up! It was just a little screw up!" Louise snapped angrily.

"Well it was expected anyways, you did it after all!" A boy called out before the class continued to laugh.

Louise ignored and turned to the bald headed teacher. "Mr Colbert."

"Yes?" He replied.

"Can I try the summoning again?" She pleaded, hoping for a chance that the teacher, may allow her.

"Sorry I can't let you do it." Colbert shook his head, instantly disappointing the pinkette. "This is a sacred ceremony that determines a mage's life. And you can only do it once. If I let you do it again, it would be a insult and a desecration of the ritual itself. Regardless of your liking, your summoning has decided him as your familiar."

The young man on the ground was totally puzzled with their language. "I have no clue what they are saying, but these guys are just weird." He remarked before he was held up by the girl.

'What the?! Is she strong or what?' The man thought.

"But I never heard of someone taking a commoner as a familiar!" Louise said as the class laughed once more.

"Commoner or not, there will be no exceptions." Colbert brushed it off sternly "Now continue with the ritual, or you will have to face suspension or expulsion if you insist."

"With this…..?" Louise was no doubt disappointed, but she did not want to face disciplinary from the school either.

"Fine…." She sighed as she looked at the man with annoyance before walking to him.

'Now what is she going to do?' The man thought as she knelt down to him.

"W-what are you doing?" He asked. But, the girl also couldn't understand the words he spoke.

"Just be quiet. It will be over soon." She then held her wand and began to chant.

"My name is Louise Françoise le Blanc de la Vallière." She pointed the wand at the man before continuing. "Pentagon that governs the five powers, give this being your blessing and make him my familiar spirit." She then knelt down and held his cheeks.

Instantly, the man knew what she was trying to do. Although he didn't understand any of the language the people around him spoke, the girl's actions was very obvious.

"No no no! Don't you-!" He called out but the girl's finger silenced him.

"Just stay still!" The girl blushed slightly, knowing what she was going to do.

The man resisted slightly, but for Louise, she knew that the man was a human, so she didn't want to do it directly. She went to his cheek and planted her lip onto it.

A kiss on the cheek for sure.

This prompted some small cheers from the students, as they witnessed first hand of a noble having to sacrifice her first kiss for someone she barely knew.

The man on the other hand realized it was a kiss on the cheek. But even so, despite not having his first kiss stolen, he could feel the emotions, but just then, he began to feel pain as he pushed away the girl, who reacted in shock.

"Hey! What are you doing…" She couldn't finish her sentence as she saw the man holding his head.

Suddenly, images flooded his head of his younger self, as in front of him, he saw two girls, but one of them was very similar to Louise, just younger.

He tranced out of the images and came back to reality 'What was that?' But it didn't take long for him to notice that he was glowing all of a sudden.

Glaring at the pinkette and the bald headed teacher, who just walked over. He demanded an answer for this "What did you guys do to me?!"

"It will end soon. Don't worry, your familiar rune is being carved onto you." Colbert said.

"Huh?" The glow then became more painful, with steam coming out as the man tried to fight it back. He gritted his teeth and cried out as his hand began to write some lettering. Clenching his fists, he slammed them to the ground as the lettering soon settled on his hand. The glow and steam then disappeared, allowing the man to breathe air as he panted.

"Looks like its done." Colbert then took out a notebook with a feather pen and began to draw the lettering. It took a few seconds only to draw out the lettering, before he began to notice something strange. But the teacher decided to save it for later as he talked to Louise.

"It may be a troublesome familiar, but at least this is a successful spell for you, Miss Valliere. It's a first too." Colbert congratulated her.

"Thank you…" She looked down, clearly disappointed in herself.

"Well then, this conducts the end of your rituals. Class is dismissed from now till the day after tomorrow. You will be given the time to know your familiars better. Got it?" Colbert turned to the students.

"Yes." The class said in unison as they began to disperse into their smaller groups, with many talking happily away, showing off their familiars.

As the area cleared, Louise turned to her own familiar, the man, and gave a signal to follow her.

'Follow?' He understood the calling. It was best for now as he can slowly maybe find out more about the place he was in. Getting up slowly, but still in pain, he grabbed his bag still on the ground and began to follow her.

Louise then led the man through the hallways of the academy, with students chatting away happily with their familiars. The man, in turn, was reacting to the types of creatures around the people, and was shocked to see some monster like types, in which was a fantasy to him from where he came from.

After walking through the hallways, the two finally reached Louise's room.

"I hate this…." She groaned as she sat on her bed. The day had already also gone into sunset as well.

"Hey, what am I doing here? Care to explain?" The man asked, only to be rudely snapped by.

"Ahh can't you just shut up! Ever since the summoning you have been speaking weird!" Louise held her ears, clearly irritated.

She then took out her wand, as she began to think. "Let's see, the silence spell… What is it?" The silence spell could at least make him go silent without saying a word and could contribute to the peacefulness. For the man, he began to back away, fearful that she might do something.

"What are you going to do now?" He asked.

"Ah! I got it, Ansul, bel, an…" Louise chanted and pointed her wand at the man "Compel to my order by silence."

Again, an explosion happened. But she was not unfazed by it, despite coughing from the smoke slightly. The man also coughed too, trying to clear the smoke by waving his hands. But all of a sudden, she could hear the man speak.

"What was that again…"

She realized that she was able to hear his words as a human.

"I understood you…?" She muttered.

"Do you have a death wish or something?! That's the second time you tried to kill me!" The man said loudly.

"I understood you!" She repeated her words, for the man to hear once more.

"Eh? You can hear me?" The man asked as she nodded.

"Say something." The girl instructed.

"Uhhh…..hi?" The man sheepishly nodded, before shaking his head. "No no no! If you understand me, then take me back to where I came from!"

"No can't do. You have been summoned to be my familiar." Louise rebuked.

"Familiar?!" Last he remembered, a familiar was to act as a servant to a master. And now in his mind, he was screaming away. He now seriously regretted touching that green oval or probably walking in that direction.

"Yes. What's your name?" Louise asked courteously.

"Me? Oh yeah. I'm sorry that I never got to say it. I'm Eugene, Eugene brooks."

"Brooks? What a strange last name you have." She remarked.

"Don't go insulting it." The now named said in a stern tone.

"Why would I? Anyways, you should be grateful that a commoner like you is of service to a noble." Louise said proudly.

"I don't get it. But why me?" He replied as he settled his bag on the table in front of him.

"How should I know? I called for a prayer and you answered it."

"Anyways, take me back to where I came from, I need to publish a story."

"Story?" The pinkette raised an eyebrow.

Without any more doubt, Eugene went to his bag and took out the pile of papers and showed her "This." He pointed to it.

"Are you a book writer?" She asked.

"Correct." He nodded.

"Impossible."

"Huh?" He was confused.

"A commoner like you should not be able to learn how to read or write unless you serve a noble." Louise said it without batting an eye.

"Commoner? Ok you have been calling me that but why do you keep calling me that?" Eugene was starting to get irritated, but his composed tone kept him from getting annoyed further.

"You just arrived here, and you have no clue on anything here? Are you a monster in disguise or something?"

"Look here… You took me from my world, so obviously I have no clue where I am, or how would you explain the two moons when there is supposed to be one!" Eugene pointed to the window which showed a red moon and a larger greenish moon with a blue tint to it.

"Ok ok calm down! Jeez, you can really be loud sometimes." Louise messaged her ear with her pinky. She gestured for him to take a seat, which he did and she sat on the other chair.

She then begin to explain how the world operates on magic, and that they were on the Tristain academy of magic, which is in Tristain, which happens to be one of the five nations on the continent Halkeginia. As for magic wise, those who could wield and use it are called nobles, or mages, classifying herself as one. And those who could not are simply known as commoners, or plebians. Commoners would usually be hired to train as workers for the various nobles in different houses. She then returned to the topic of nobles and the magic, which came in four elements. Fire, water, wind, and earth. There was also a fifth element called the void, but it was considered a lost element as void mages were rare and sacred. Using the elements also classifies the nobles into different categories. One element is dot, two being lime, three in triangle, and using all four equalizes as a square.

It took a while for the young man to absorb the information, but eventually he understood it. But nevertheless, the thought of him getting home continued to linger.

"Now then, you can explain your story. What your world is like, if it exists." Louise prompted as she took a cup of water.

"It exists!" The young man then went ahead to tell of how he resided on a planet called earth, which he was attached to a working company as a intern. And basically, what he did was rebuked all of the facts of halkeginia, where humans were treated as equals, and all were given a chance to learn and get educated to be put into different jobs. Not to add on that magic does not exist in his world, to the girl's disbelief. Instead, people use the ability of science to move forward, and work together for a better world. It also took a while for the girl to absorb the information from her familiar.

"This day has gone on for long enough. But either way, you have been summoned here and I do not have a way to send you back either. So, its best that you stick with me as I made the contract with you. A familiar is part of a noble's life after all." Louise said as she began to get undressed, which made Eugene turn around.

"Have you no sense of shame?!" He had to remind that he was a man, a gender of opposite sex.

"Then what do you want me to do? The bathroom's quite a walk away. I'm too lazy to go there just to change. So just wait for a bit." She shot back, making her familiar sigh in return.

"Good grief." Eugene then saw a few photo frames on a table and walked over to it. He picked up the one in the middle to inspect it and found something peculiar.

The photo had three kids, and one of them was a younger version of Louise. This made him realize something. The images that he saw in his mind earlier were of the same girl. The facial features matched it as well.

'Impossible. Could it be-' He thought as he looked to his left, to find Louise standing really close to him.

"UWAH!" He jumped so hard that he hit the wall of her room. His hand lost grip of the photo frame and it began to fall to the ground, but Louise, who had a quick reaction time, caught it with her two hands to save it from shattering.

"Don't just anyhow touch people's stuff! You nearly dropped it!" Louise seethed in anger.

"Well you nearly gave me a heart attack by standing beside me all of a sudden!" Eugene retorted, sweating bullets on his back, as he collected himself.

"Is that you in the picture?" He asked as she placed the photo back.

"Yeah. The other two are my childhood friends." She solemnly said as she looked out the window sadly.

"Ohh. Sorry to hear that they are gone…" Eugene knew what it was like to lose someone, even if his memories were… unknown to begin with.

"The girl is around, but the guy, Laos… he was very close to me, but one day, he disappeared after we were attacked by some weird creatures." Louise corrected him, staring into the boy's face. "Speaking of which, you do look like an older version of him. I guess that's why I'm not really that angry when I summoned you after all." She looked down, her expression changing to that of a slight smile.

It was true. Even though Eugene was a commoner and had no presence of a mage or noble, his young face did resemble the boy in her picture. She was disappointed, but not that disappointed.

"Do you have any childhood friends when you were young?" She looked up to his taller figure.

A few seconds passed before he replied "…No."

"No?" She saw the expression in his eyes.

They were telling nothing. It was empty.

"I… do not have any memories of my childhood. I'm amnesiac. I do not know who my parents were and what I did when I was a kid." He looked sadly.

Hearing this made her heart turned to one of sympathy.

"I'm sorry to hear that…" Louise muttered sadly before she hugged him, leaving him confused. "I apologize that I was disappointed to have gotten you as my familiar. I did wanted something cooler because I declared to my class the previous day, I would summon something better than them, but, I guess you are not too bad after all. You seem like nice person. I promise I will try to get you home one day. So, stick with me for the time being, okay?" She buried her face into his body as she hugged tighter.

His eyes widen again as he now saw images, but differently. It was no doubt that the young girl resembled Louise so closely, as he saw flashes of the girl hugging him tightly. He then came back to reality as he looked down at her petite figure.

Moving his arms, he wrapped them around her body as well. "Thanks for understanding me. I hope we get along well, Miss Valliere." He smiled, shaking off the images in his mind. Whatever they were, he would try his best to remember them clearly.

"Call me Louise, Eugene. You don't need to be so formal." She broke free of the hug and smiled at him.

In his eyes, he saw the same girl in his mind image in front of him. But it did not let it get to him as he smiled back. "I understand, Louise."

"Then let's go to sleep. We can talk more tomorrow." She went to her bed and laid herself on her pillow.

As for Eugene, he took the table and lowered himself to have his head rest on the table.

The two slowly drifted away into their sleep. Unknowingly to them, Eugene's bag glowed slightly before it died down into the night.

The next day soon came, and the two woke up to get ready for the day. As Colbert mentioned, there was no class for all the second year students to get familiar with their newly summoned familiars.

After getting dressed, they decided it was best to just stay in the room, instead of going down, until they were hungry at least.

Sitting down at the table, she called for room breakfast service through a magic spell, which still left her familiar in awe, even though it has been a day since.

She then set down her book and pen and began to write on it, with him just looking at her. Noticing it, she felt slightly uncomfortable. "What?"

"Nothing. Just seeing what you are trying to write." He replied.

"Its my homework. I'm a student after all."

"I see. So, how are your grades exactly like? You said that you declared to your class the day before. Is there anything wrong?"

Louise stopped writing, thinking of what to reply before she said it out "I'm not exactly good at magic. That is why this book you see is made specially for me. Most nobles are able to control their magic at least here, unlike me. So, to ensure that I continue my studies, I have to fill this book up."

"I see." Just then, the doorbell rang.

"Go get it. It should be our food." Louise instructed as she turned back to writing.

Eugene then headed to the door to open it, revealing a maid with a cart.

"Your delivery's here." The maid said.

"Thanks. I will take it from here." He then proceeded to take the two trays but was cut short by the maid herself.

"Its alright. It's my duty after all." The maid then took the two trays faster than he could and she set them onto the table.

"Thanks, Siesta." Louise addressed the maid but did not looked at her, for she was still busy writing away.

"Siesta? So that's your name?" Eugene asked as the maid nodded.

Looking at her, he realized some unique features of her, despite he himself coming from another world. He noticed the facial features, along with the short black hair and the same colored eyes as his, which was black. She wore the standard maid outfit that he saw other maids wore here at the academy, which is a long black dress with poofy sleeves, which was draped by a long white apron with frills, secured by a yellow necktie with a blue jewel on it. She also wears a white headband too, with brown knee boots. This made him question in his mind if she was from earth too, but he decided to brush it off, probably saving it for another time.

"I'm Eugene. Nice to meet you." He offered a hand to the maid.

Louise looked up and paled before she ran to his side and slapped his hand away.

"Ow! What the hell?!" He shook his hand off to ease the pain. She sure did slapped his hand hard on that one.

"More like what are you trying to do?! Offering a hand is not what a commoner does. Its only reserved for the highest nobles here!" She butted as she tried to create a space between the two of them, because they had been a bit too close all this while.

"What are you saying? I was just offering a handshake." Eugene frowned.

"O-oh..." She stammered backwards, clearly embarrassed.

Turning back to the maid, he offered his hand once more, and the maid accepted it.

After calming down the situation, Siesta was now together with Louise and Eugene in the room. Louise then introduced her properly as the only maid in the academy who always looked after her well-being. To Louise, even though Siesta was a maid and a commoner, she revealed that the maid was the only person she considered in the school to be a good friend, which surprised the young man, as he thought that she was truly alone.

Siesta also revealed to him that if something happens at the academy to Louise, it would spread throughout the school like wildfire, like how the fact that she was now well known to summon a human familiar. Therefore, she would be the only pillar of support to her friend.

"As you are here now as well, I do hope you would help her too. She needs help as much as possible." Siesta smiled.

"You can count on it." Eugene assured.

"Well then, I will come back to clear the plates. I'll see you two later." Siesta bowed before taking her leave, leaving the two alone once more.

The day then went on, as the two got to know each other better. Eugene found out that Louise's family was not just a family, but a famous lineage of mages, her parents having served in the military once. And she aspires to do the same. She also took the photo frame and explained the other girl in the picture to her, which happens to be the current crown princess of Tristain as well, so therefore, she wishes to serve alongside the princess eventually, in order to not lose her closest friend. Sure, Siesta is a good friend too, but if Siesta is contracted to be a long time maid at the academy, then naturally by the time of graduation, she will have to say farewell to her.

In return, Eugene explained that without his childhood memories, he didn't know of what to do, until he was inspired to be a novelist after reading and watching movies that were faithfully adapted. It took a confused Louise to understand what exactly the things in his world were, but she concluded that his world did sound interesting. He then took out the pile of papers, telling her before he was summoned, he was on the way to send it to a editor to get it published.

The pinkette asked if she could read his story, and he instantly agreed. 'She will love this' He gleefully thought.

It took a while, because of the weird handwriting and the language used, so she used a spell to translate it, but she managed to get through the first few pages before stopping and putting the papers down. She could not even think of what to say about it except saying "Wow."

"So how? Is the story good?" He asked, hopeful for a positive feedback.

"Do you even know how to write a plot?" She had a deadpanned expression on her face.

"Huh?" He did not understand what she meant.

And so, an argument started. Louise began to point out several grammatical errors, along with punctuations, with several paraphrasing errors, on how to exactly link points of a story together. But Eugene argued back that he took a lot of revisions to publish this. This just made her now think that either her familiar's horrible with the weird language, or that he was caught too much in his dreams that he would produce a great story.

"Whatever it is, I think you need to work on it. If you want to produce a nice story, you have to learn the proper way." She crossed her arms.

"Or more like you can't read this language either, you think your translation is reliable?" He sneered.

"Oh so now you are going to mock me, like the rest of them?" She stood up in anger.

"I'm not angering you! Whatever, I'm taking these plates off." He then put the papers in his bag before taking the trays.

"You make sure you reflect on what you said to your master!" She said as she went back to her writing, not caring anymore.

Eugene soon arrived at a cookhouse that he assumed, using his sense of smell as a guide, and entered the building. It looked awkward to him at first, as the maids of the academy just looked at him.

"U-um I'm looking for Siesta?" He said nervously, not knowing if the maids would kick him out or not.

But one of the maids simply called for the requested, who soon came down from the upper level of the building.

"Oh my. What did I say about me coming back to get those?" Siesta was slightly flabbergasted, as she quickly took the trays.

"It's alright. I needed a breath of fresh air after all." He waved off.

"Thank you. I apologize for troubling you for this effort." Siesta bowed.

"Again its alright." He waved off once more as he sweatdropped.

Eugene then began to make his way back to Louise's room. As he walked, he looked up to see the sky about to set and transfer into the night. He looked at the two moons before sighing. It was cool that to him that arriving in a new world full of stuff that is not present in his world is a unique experience, but he still could not wrap the fact that he was in an alternative world. Shaking his head, he headed back, to prepare only mentally what would happen next.

"Seriously, that familiar could be a bit foul sometimes." Sighing, she looked at the photo frame, once more looking at her lost childhood friend. But suddenly, she realized something.

'It can't be, but Eugene does look like an older version of Laos. Laos was also slightly foul mouthed too when I was getting laughed at.' She then turned to the young man's bag, and not knowing why herself, began to sift through it. She took out several items and placed on a table before realizing something small was in it.

Taking it out, it was a small red book, it almost looked like a toy, but it was slightly heavy, meaning that there were no plastic materials on it. The cover of the small book was a drawing of a red dragon with the title 'Brave dragon' on it. But what made her perplexed was the head of the dragon. And she immediately thought back to her past, to the day of the attack that left her scarred.

'That dragon's head, it could not be-!' Just then, the door swung open, as Eugene had returned from the maid's headquarters.

"HYAA!" She let out a small shriek, jumping out of her skin.

"Louise? What's wrong?" He asked.

"I-Its nothing!" She waved her hands frantically, with the small book still in her hand.

It just took him a few seconds to realize. "What are you doing rummaging through my bag?" He said as he walked towards the table.

"I-Its n-nothing!" Louise stammered as she frantically came up with a excuse. "I-It's just that I want to see what proof you have that y-you come from another world! That's it!"

"Isn't the story enough proof?" He sighed before putting his hand out.

Louise looked at him for a few seconds before knowing what he meant. Slowly, she reached out and returned him the small metal book.

"If you want to look through my stuff, you have to ask for permission first. I don't think this world does not have courtesy." He wagged his finger.

"S-sorry…" She looked down sadly.

'C-cute' Was all he thought as he saw her pure expression.

"Anyway, what is that book? Did it come from where you came from?" The pinkette asked as she sat down on her chair.

She was expecting probably a yes from him. But again, the images flashing in her mind were vague, which confirmed that she saw that book from somewhere.

"No." He shook his head "I don't know where it came from either. I had this when I was a kid, which I do not have my memories of. But what my gut is telling me that I should keep it, it probably serves as a charm to me."

He then opened the cover of the book, which revealed more strange writing, and most importantly, a silhouette of the same dragon on the cover.

Brave dragon!

A voice sounded from the book.

"I see…" The pinkette looked away.

He noticed her longing expression "Something wrong?" It seemed like the girl knew something about the book.

"No. It's nothing."

Just then, the door suddenly slammed open, to reveal an angry Guiche "You! Zero's familiar!"

Louise jumped in surprise "Guiche! What are you doing here?!" She was not expecting the pompous boy to show up at her door.

"Louise. Have you not been controlling your familiar?" The blonde seethed.

"What are you talking about?!" Irritated, she walked to the door, wanting to close it.

"You seriously mad about what I said to you?" Eugene put his hands at his hips, sighing.

"Eugene. What is he talking about?" Louise asked, wanting an answer from her familiar.

"You see…" He then recounted just moments earlier, on the way back to the room.

"Hmm?" Eugene saw a bottle of liquid on the floor as he was walking back to Louise's room. Inspecting it as he picked it up, he saw Guiche and another girl walking together, which made him conclude it was the pompous boy's.

He then rushed towards Guiche, not wanting to be rude either. "Excuse me. You dropped this."

Guiche stopped in his tracks and upon seeing the bottle, he swallowed his throat, and flinched.

"Sorry. I do not know what you are talking about."

"This-!" The girl beside him suddenly took the potion, before looking at him with disappointment.

"You know what this is?" Eugene asked.

"Yes! This is from another girl he knew. I can't believe you Guiche!" Tears started to develop in her eyes.

"C-calm down Katie! This is not what you think…" He frantically tried to come up with an excuse, but it was not working.

Seeing how the situation was tensing up, Eugene decided to slip out of the scene as a distraction. He immediately sighed as he felt pity for the girl, having been cheated on. Although he has no romantic experience, but having read romance novels, he could decipher the situation.

He then heard loud smacks before he saw the girl running away from the guy. Not wanting to get into any problem, he decided to hasten up to Louise's room.

"… and that's what happened." Eugene ended the story.

Louise sighed, before looking at Guiche annoyingly "Leave."

"Leave?! You are not going to ask him to apologise to me?! Where is your noble pride?!" Guiche demanded, pointing his rose at the two of them.

"Look here. If I was your girl, I would do the same too. It has nothing to do with noble pride." Louise shrugged.

"You can only blame yourself with cheating." Eugene added as he smirked.

Guiche's face turned red with anger, clearing not accepting his defeat. He then pointed to the young man.

"Fine! Then if you want me to accept this humiliation, you will have to best me in a duel." The pompous narcissistic student declared.

"HUH?!" Louise replied loudly with her jaw dropping to the ground.

"I see…well then I accept it." Eugene smiled with confidence.

"HAH?! ARE YOU CRAZY?!" She turned to her familiar sharply before turning to Guiche "Duels are prohibited, have you forgotten?!"

"Between nobles. Your familiar's a commoner. It will not be a problem." Guiche retorted.

"I won't allow it! Do not try anything funny to my familiar." She declared.

"If you don't let me do anything, then I will let your dad know about this." Guiche said with a taunt.

Hearing this, Louise flinched before looking down, gritting her teeth and clenching her fists.

"As expected." He smirked before turning his attention to the familiar. "We will meet in an hour at Vestri field. If you do not want to fight, then apologise to me now."

"You wish." Eugene scoffed, clearly not liking the guy's attitude any further.

"Then, excuse me." Guiche then left and closed the door, leaving the two alone once again.

"What's with him…" He thought out loud before turning to the girl.

"Louise, are you alright?"

But Louise just ignored the question.

"Why…"

"Hmm?" He tilted his head with a frown.

"Why did you just accept a duel like that?!" She looked at him with anger.

"Why? It was to put him in his place of course. But what was it about him telling your dad?" He asked curiously.

Hearing this made her flinch, her expression changing to one of fear and disappointment. Seeing as no other way that it was her familiar or companion that would follow her for the rest of her life, she began to explain.

"Guiche's father is a top ranking general in Tristain's military. And my father is a senior member of the military as well. I haven't told him or my family about the familiar summoning yet. And General Gramont is close to my dad. So if word got out that I summoned you, they will begin to ridicule me, and not see me as a Valliere…." She began to tear up, before her tears began to trickle down her cheeks.

"I just don't want you to get hurt, nor do I want to be ridiculed from my own family…"

Hearing this made Eugene's heart softened up and angry at the same time. His master, companion is at a crossroads, making him think that both Guiche and her family are a bunch of knobheads. Resorting to despicable methods to destroy someone was something he hated. Reaffirming himself, he put his hands on her shoulders, making the pinkette look up to him.

"I won't lose this duel. I promise. If its anything, I think you would be proud of me. Whatever commoners are in this world, I will win. Then you will be able to tell your family of having a wonderful familiar." He gave a confidence smile as he wiped her tears.

Hearing this made her heart gain trust. It was like seeing if Laos was there to help her. But again, this was not Laos.

She then wiped her own tears before holding his hands close to her heart, smiling at him. She did not know why she was doing that, but something told her to do so.

"Ok." She nodded.

"Then let's go, shall we?" He held up the small book in his hand.

"Why that?" Louise asked.

"I don't know either. But if it's a good luck charm, then I'm using it." He stuffed it in his pocket before opening the room's door.

Nodding, she followed suit and they made their way to Vestri field.

Meanwhile somewhere in the academy, Colbert, the senior teacher of Louise's class was running towards a large door, with a book in his hand. Upon reaching the door, he thrusted it open.

"Headmaster!" He called out to the occupant in the room, who was accompanied by a young woman.

The occupant was an old man with long white hair with a very long moustache and beard. His face has wrinkles, showing his ageing. He was wearing a huge black coat over some black robes with a huge hood on the back.

The young woman beside him has green hair that was tied up with a yellow scrunchie with some hair clips securing it. She wears a blue dress with white stripes on it, with a red scarf draped over it along with wearing heels. She also has a pair of glasses on her face.

"Uh, who are you again?" The headmaster asked.

"Colbert! I told you many times." He then walked up to the table where the headmaster was seated.

"Right. So, what was it again?" The old man asked, as he tried to remember the name of the bald headed teacher.

"It's about Miss Valliere's familiar." He said as he flipped open the book, and began flipping through the pages.

"Ah yes, the one who summoned a unique familiar. I don't recall this academy's students having summoned commoners before, so this is the first." The headmaster said.

"But that's not the main point. I was not familiar with the rune that her familiar has until I looked it up and…" He continued flipping until he stopped and showed the old man. "The rune looked exactly like this."

Upon seeing it, the headmaster's face grew from a sleepy to a serious expression. He then turned to the young woman.

"Sorry Miss Longueville, but…" He said before the woman nodded.

"Understood, headmaster."

It was a call to make her way out of the room, and she abided to it. But not before she took a quick glace and noticed something as well.

Once Longueville was out, He turned his attention to Colbert, and the two began to discuss something.

At Vestri field, a crowd had formed in a circle. Word had gotten out that the zero's familiar was about to duel the person who proposed it. And right now, Guiche was standing centerstage in the circle waiting. Most of his and Louise's classmates were gathered to witness it, along with some girls from other classes, who were swooning all over the guy. Katie, the girl who left him earlier was present with Montmorency, who was looking annoyed as she stood beside her.

Soon, Louise and Eugene then made their way to the center as well.

"You have finally arrived. I commend you however for not running away." Guiche sneered.

"Oh, save it. You will be beaten down soon enough." Eugene sneered back, earning some gasps from the audience. They were just shocked to see a commoner talking back to a noble.

"Are you sure you can beat him?" Louise asked worriedly once more.

"I can." He nodded with a serious expression.

"Shall we begin then?" Guiche called out, with a smirk.

"We shall!" Louise replied, deciding to let things play out. Considering how she was reassured by the young man earlier, she agreed to let him fight.

"Then, first to give up will lose the duel. Clear?" Guiche set a term for the familiar.

Eugene just nodded.

The pompous boy then used the rose hand to swipe a petal off it with a swing. The petal fell to the ground before a light emitted from it, as it then summoned a suit of green armor with eyes. Its hand was wielding a spear as well.

"My name is Guiche the bronze. There, a bronze golem Valkyrie shall be your opponent."

The Valkyrie then began to run forward to its opponent, which made Eugene widen his eyes. The Valkyrie thrusted its fist forward, and Eugene barely dodged it by the skin, which earn some cheers from the crowd.

"What the?! That's not fair!" Eugene cried out.

"Not fair? I'm a mage. So naturally I would be using magic no?" Guiche smirked, having the advantage in his mind.

"I didn't say that. What I meant was not calling out to start the duel!" The familiar grunted as he dodged the attacks of the Valkyrie.

The Valkyrie went for a punch, thrusting its hand forward. But Eugene just ducked underneath, which he then spun around with his legs. This surprised the crowd, as they did not expect a commoner to be able to go toe to toe with a mage's power. Not when he also not have a weapon of sorts on him.

However, the Valkyrie also had its own mind. It went to use its spear forward to strike its opponent, hoping to land a hit somewhere.

'Caught you!' Eugene hissed as he used his hands to stop the spear, before using his strength to push the Valkyrie back. It was strong as hell, which made him grit his teeth, using what strength he could to counter back. He then raised his leg and kneed the Valkyrie in its body. He hoped that with the knee, the Valkyrie would stumble back, and let its guard down.

But that was not the case.

"OOORRHHHHHHHHHH!" He cried out, as he felt the pain rushing in his knee.

Louise, who was witnessing the duel, covered her mouth with her hand, horrified as her familiar was in pain.

The Valkyrie then went for a punch, taking the opportunity, with its fist landing on the man's stomach, which made him cough up. It then grabbed his head before throwing it towards Louise.

The crowd at this point were talking among themselves. They thought they had come to see a good show, but all they saw was a noble teaching a commoner in its place.

"Eugene!" Louise rushed to his side, who was still laying upwards. She then helped him up as he recovered.

"Didn't you said you would win. What happened?" She asked worriedly.

"Nothing…" He shook his head to wring off some of the pain "It's just that I did not know that thing was too tough to kick."

"As expected of a commoner." Guiche taunted "How can a commoner possibly resort to kicking my Valkyrie. Did you really think that it would be so weak?"

"Cut the taunting!" Louise snapped back, but Eugene just got up and got in front of her.

"Interesting. You still wish to fight?" Guiche prompted.

"Naturally. It was an off guard anyways." Eugene taunted before looking at Louise and nodded.

Still worried, she saw his determined eyes that he wished to continue. With no choice, she nodded and pulled back.

"Shall we continue?" Eugene asked as he got into a stance. But unaware to him, his pocket containing the small book was glowing.

In the headmaster's office, the headmaster was explaining the stuff that Colbert had found.

"This rune can only appear on a legendary familiar spirit, which is said to be long gone. And if the third born of the Valliere family to summon it, it means that her element is of the missing fragment of the pentagon."

"Impossible! That means that-" Colbert said.

"Those explosions… or her magic uses, is not her true power." The headmaster said as he took a drink from the cup on his desk.

"Then what shall we do? We must inform her one day about this." Colbert suggested.

"For now, let us keep it a secret between the two of us. When it is time, we will let her know." The headmaster then closed the book and returned it to the teacher.

"I understand." Colbert said.

Meanwhile, Longueville, who was standing outside the door happened to chance upon a duel happening on the academy's grounds. She noticed that the ones dueling was the familiar of Louise and Guiche. Looking at the fight, she was impressed that the familiar, who was just a commoner was standing his ground without faltering.

'Impressive' She thought, but then, in her pocket, she took out a small book, which read out 'Ganseikou Golem'.

'I haven't tried this, but maybe I shall test his powers' She let off a slight evil smile before opening the window and throwing the small book towards the duel.

The Valkyrie was ready to charge, but then, all of a sudden, it was hit by an object on the head. Collecting itself, it saw that it was a small book, with a torn cover on it.

"Valkyrie, what are you doing? Attack him already!" Guiche commanded, but the Valkyrie was too busy to hear.

Having seem like it had a mind of its own, it reached out for the book, but the book suddenly opened itself.

GANSEIKOU GOLEM

A voice sounded from the book before it flew and settled itself on the Valkyrie, earning some murmurs from the crowd. But it did not take long to silence everyone as what they saw turned into shock.

A purple aura started to absorb the green armored warrior before it was clouded over some dark smoke. Book like graphics appeared as it began to stack up into a human body. The Valkyrie did not even fight back, seemingly accepting its fate. Then the smoke and the transparent like books cleared off, revealing the same Valkyrie but even scarier.

It had purple and grey armor now, but its face was disfigured slightly, and sported some torn black robes as well. It was slightly bigger as well in size. Its right arm still had the same size, but its left arm was now twice the size. Its waist now hung the book as well on a chain. The feathers that once decorated the helmet was now replaced with two large hands.

Everyone at the scene became horrified at what they saw, including Guiche.

"A-A monster!" One of the girls cried out.

"Run!" A guy screamed.

The crowd then began to scatter in all directions. But for Guiche, Louise, Eugene, Siesta, Montmorency and Katie and even Zerbst who was watching the fight all this while, all stayed put.

"What's the meaning of this, you snobbish idiot?!" Eugene was not happy now, assuming that his opponent might be resorting to tricks to take him down.

"It's not me! My Valkyries are green in color as always!" Guiche retorted before pointing his wand at him. "But then, this might make me win. Valkyrie, attack him!" He commanded.

But the Valkyrie simply turned round, before beginning to walk towards the pompous student. It then grabbed the collar of its master before raising its fist and punched his face.

"You…dare defy me?!" Guiche retorted as he punched the Valkyrie, but it did not feel any pain. The Valkyrie threw Guiche immediately as hard as it can, creating some distance, which led to some shocked expressions from the girls, who were watching in horror.

The Valkyrie then rushed forward, ready to strike down the blonde, who was trying to get up. But when he saw the Valkyrie, he felt like his life was about to get sucked away, by the very thing he summoned out of his rose wand. Closing his eyes, he prepared for the worst as he heard a clanging sound. A few seconds passed and he realized nothing happened to him. Opening his eyes and slowly looking up, he saw Eugene in front of him, with his hands in a guard position.

"Y-you?" Guiche did not expect his opponent to defend him.

"Don't think of me as helping you. You cheater!" Eugene gritted his teeth and wrestled with the more powerful Valkyrie and pushed it away.

Amidst the chaos, the other girls arrived at Guiche's side.

"Let's get out of here." Montmorency ordered.

"But-!" Guiche tried to fight back but, Katie blocked his view too. He then felt pain in his arm, having taken probably the heavy hit when he was thrown prior. He will probably need some medical treatment for that.

"We'll discuss this later. Can you cover us?" The brownette asked Zerbst, who had her wand on her hand.

"I got you." Zerbst replied before looking at Louise.

"You go ahead first!" Louise said as she readied her wand as well.

Even if the red haired woman wanted Louise to fail at fighting, but she knew the basics of a master and familiar.

"I understand. You better not die here!" Then, the group left, taking Siesta along also, for the fact the maid would be the most vulnerable.

Meanwhile, the Valkyrie, stronger than Eugene, began striking at the human. Eugene saw a fist coming for him before ducking. He then leapt to the side of the Valkyrie, hoping to disarm the spear still in his hand. The Valkyrie then went for his head, swinging its spear. Seeing as it was too fast, he repeated the same steps, but then was caught by one of the detached hands from the head of Valkyrie. The hand then sent him to the ground hard.

"Get away from my familiar!" Louise cried out before she swung her wand.

A small fireball exploded on the Valkyrie's chest armor, clearing doing no harm.

She clenched her fists tighter, as she felt her body shaking. She was in fear of the monster like Valkyrie. She then realized through her memories, thinking backwards.

It was one of the monster like creatures from that fateful day.

'I-I should not be so fearful. It has been 10 years after all.' She thought, but her body was reacting otherwise.

Suddenly, the Valkyrie charged at the girl, and in just a second, the Valkyrie was right in front of her face. Her eyes widened in fear, as it swung its spear upwards, with the intent of striking her down. She shut her eyes tightly, preparing for the blow. Then she heard a battle cry before hearing some clanking sounds. Slowly opening her eyes, she saw Eugene trying to resist as he hugged the Valkyrie tighter. But the Valkyrie simply used the detached hands to hold down the familiar before it used its larger hand to grab hold and delivering a heavy punch to the stomach with its other hand.

The young man then coughed up blood before he was thrown down to the ground, horrifying the girl.

"EUGENE!" She screamed, with fear in her voice, covering her mouth.

"L-Louise…" He called out weakly.

The Valkyrie then raised its fist again. Louise then looked up, with tears forming in her eyes.

'No…not like this!' She did not want her familiar to die, not especially when they just met.

The fist of the Valkyrie then came down like a meteorite, and hit its target, creating a huge cloud of smoke.

Or so it thought it was. The smoke cleared to reveal the glowing red book that had resided in its pocket. It was floating in front of Eugene.

Louise and Eugene then slowly opened their eyes and saw it as well.

"The book…" Louise said as they then saw the book repelling away the Valkyrie's fist, and then pushing it away, making it stumble back. The book then went and landed on Eugene's hand.

"This book saved me?" Eugene was also perplexed and confused. For a item he assumed to be a charm as a amnesiac, he was not expecting it to be magical somewhat.

Slowly getting up, he then slowly opened the cover of the book.

THERE WAS ONCE A GODLY BEAST POSESSING A GREAT POWER THAT WOULD DESTROY EVERYTHING...

The book announced. Then, a flame dragon suddenly emerged from the book, taking the two by surprise. The dragon flew upwards, before turning around then crashed into the ground, creating an explosion. The flames soon died down, still visible, and revealed a sword in the center.

Eugene saw it, before realizing what it meant.

The book was not an ordinary charm.

'Hope exists!' The two words rang in his head, for some reason, they made him realize the only probable thing to do now.

Slowly standing up, he began to use what strength he had and tried to walk towards the flames.

"Eugene don't!" Louise cried out, worried for her familiar now trying to do something that could harm.

"Its fine! I will do anything to take this guy down!" He declared.

She then fell to her knees, trembling with worry and fear. This was no longer an ordinary duel. He was witnessing the same thing as her, yet he still wanted to carry on.

"If I am to become you hope…." Eugene slowly said, making her look at him.

"…Then I will become someone that will fight for that!" He shouted as he grunted, slowly walking to the sword in the middle of the flames.

"Hope…" She muttered before cusping her hands together.

As he approached the sword finally, he grabbed hold of it and let out a battle cry as he used his might to draw it from the ground. He roared before pulling the sword off the ground and raising it high in the air.

The Valkyrie wanted to stop all this, but however, upon the sword drawing, flames began to push it back.

The flames finally collected around the sword, circling it as it swirled heavily.

The young man looked at the sword as the flames slowly absorb the entire sword and his palm. Slowly, a silhouette of a new sword materialized before the existing sword then collapsed into it, merging. The flames then dissipated away and revealing a new item.

It was a belt buckle shaped in the form of a sword. The black body was in the shape of a scabbard which had 3 rectangle slots on it along with gold piping decoration on the bottom. A silver handle was exposed on the left and a red hilt in the shape of flames was attached to it. In the center is a X shape with a sword blade in the middle.

SEIKEN SWORDRIVER!

The same voice sounded, but this time it was from the belt.

"Driver…?" Eugene was shocked to see a belt buckle from the sword. It took him back to his time on earth, where he had watched some shows of similar heroes wearing belts to fight back monsters.

"That's it! This is the power of a Kamen rider, a hero!" He recalled before he then put the belt on his waist, with a red strapped automatically coming out of the buckle. Flames surrounded it as it locked the buckle on his waist, before disappearing.

"Eugene…?" Louise said. She did not know what he was talking about, but the way she saw him now, he was defined and determined.

"Louise." He called out as he looked at her. "This fight's ending will be my victory. Because this fight's ending, is for me to decide!"

Clenching her fist to her chest, her face turned to a serious expression. "Don't fall again!"

"I won't!" He then held the small book still in his hand and opened it once again.

BRAVE DRAGON!

Closing the book, he then inserted it into the most left slot. A standby tune that sounded medieval-like played, confusing the pinkette.

A giant version of the book suddenly appeared from the sky and slammed down to the ground, making the girl jump in fright, and squeaked.

Reaching for the handle of the driver, he then pulled it out, revealing a flaming sword. The book on the driver then flipped open, to reveal the body of a knight.

REKKA BATTOU!

Twirling it in his hand, he got into a stance with the sword. And having watched Kamen rider shows on earth, he had to say the magic word.

"Henshin!"

The book behind him then flipped also to the same picture of the knight. He raised the sword up and slashed the air in front of him, making a 'x' shape.

BRAVE DRAGON!

A voice sang as the same dragon emerged from the giant book, and circled around him, before merging and the flames disappearing off. The 'x' shape he created then flew to his face, merging as well.

REKKA ISSATSU! WHEN THE DRAGON OF VALOR AND THE SWORD OF FLAMES MEET, THE CRIMSON SWORD WILL PENETRATE ALL EVIL!

The voice read as Eugene made a bunch of sword moves to go along with it, eventually ending in a pose.

KAENKEN REKKA!

As the flames died down, Louise looked up and saw that Eugene was no longer a human, but he was clad in armor. Her eyes widened in shock as she finally recalled what the book was all about.

He was now wearing a unique red, white, and black armor. A dragon's head rested on the right shoulder, with a belt in the shape of a scabbard attached to the waist, with what seems to have a red open book sits on one of the three slots. A silver blade stuck out of its helmet with flame like eyes in the shape of a 'x'. And most importantly, he was wielding a sword with a flame style hilt on it, with strange lettering on the blade.

It all dawned on her.

Her memories were the answer.

It was the very same knight that saved her and her two childhood friends.

"After all this while you…" She spoke.

Focusing on the monster, Eugene pointed his sword at the Valkyrie, and declared.

"Now, let's have you dance with the flames!"

And we are done! Wow that took a very long time to write, but I finally had to groove to write a story. Now I know what you are guys are thinking what I have done, but I will explain. I simply am rewriting the concept of Kamen rider saber, having watched the show to a certain, and yuck, it's written by the dude who wrote ghost, so naturally, I didn't enjoyed the show as much as I did with the previous installment, kamen rider zero one. So therefore, I am writing saber's story in my own way. And don't worry. Stuff like Megiddo, sword of logos and the rest of the riders will be included.

And also, I am completely rewriting Louise's character. I know Louise is a hated character given her in the actual show is close to a girl of torture towards her familiar in the early stages. And her character sometimes didn't made any sense. So the Louise in my story, will be gentler and more loving for the viewers I hope. But I will try to keep her tsundereness here, maybe some of it, which is a major factor for her voice actress to earn the nickname 'queen of tsundere'. With this, I'll leave to you guys to think of how it has gone so far. See ya in the next chapter then!
