REVIEW TIME!
TheNineNerdGhouls: I already have a layout of how things will develop for Felix, but it will be a while before he does something remotely decent.
Guest: Everyone: FELIX NO!
Felix: FELIX YES!
It will be going for a while ;)
Friendlyuser: It's going!
DevilSpartn96: I hope you like what I'll keep doing with him.
Guest: You should really watch RvB it is a great show. Not only for the sake of this fic.
PSYCONIG: Because that's how a narcissist sociopath thinks like. I'm not one, or at least I think not, and haven't met one, so it's just my take. He thinks the world and the universe revolves around him. And well the term child-man exist for a reason.
"Why?"
Blake sighed as she found herself under Ruby's judgmental look. The girl had found out about her confrontation with Felix on NPR's room and was now looking for a reason behind it. She told them how she met with Felix on the school's forge and he told her about how Blake banged into their room's door and woke him up along with his team.
"It was… it was just a hunch, okay?" Blake said as she crossed her arms, knowing that her reason was not the best one.
"You were the one who said we weren't going to look for more activities from the White Fang or Torchwick, yet five seconds later you go and accuse someone of working with them?" Ruby asked, looking completely distraught and clearly affronted by what she did.
"If my hunch was right then the same man that hurt Yang was here, under our roof!" Blake defended.
"Except, that it wasn't that man," Weiss said, closing the book she was reading and getting up from bed. "The student is just that, a student, he came from Mistral and has bonds with another team that comes from there. And while our interactions with him have been limited and will be more so from now on after this, he has shown to be both a good sport and a good friend that fills the space Arc left for Pyrrha and her team."
"People sometimes hide their true colors," Blake said with a look of reminiscence. "Sometimes they look like charmers, where a beast lies down. Waiting for the right time to get out."
Ruby and Weiss exchanged looks and the young leader walked forward and grabbed Blake's hands. "Blake… I get you are upset, we are all… we all want Torchwick and those guys with him to be stopped but… Even if—IF—this Felix is that Felix we just can't confront him about it. What if her goes to Ozpin and that gets us in trouble again?"
"Specially after we are basically under his scope," Weiss remarked. "We are hanging on a thin line and the last thing we need is to get accused of harassment."
Blake was silent for a moment, before she gripped Ruby's hands and nodded. "I will go walk for a bit… I'm sorry, guys…" She said as she let Ruby go and walked out of the room.
Once alone Ruby gave a shuddering breath, before walking mechanically to her bed and sitting there. Weiss observed as her leader took various breaths before one of them came out as a sob. "Ruby…"
"I suck as a leader," She said as she bit her lip and tried to contain her tears. "I suck as a leader, as a friend, as a sister, as everything!"
Weiss observed as Ruby tried to hold herself together and tried to not break down. Her eyes softening as she took in consideration that Ruby was just fifteen and trying to be many things at once, leader, hero, etcetera. She had her doubts when Ozpin choose her as a leader, but gave the benefit of the doubt and while this wasn't the best scenario at least no one died and they did managed to almost beat Torchwick had it not been for the interference of the mercenary.
She sat next to Ruby and wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "You don't 'suck' Ruby. This is just a… setback…"
"But Yang… she…"
"She is going to wake up soon, she is too stubborn not to," Weiss told her. "We are still students Ruby; we have four more years to become better." She knew that if Blake was here, she would say that those are four years where Torchwick continued to run rampant.
"B-But," Ruby sniffled.
"No buts," Weiss said. "You want to prove you don't suck as a leader? Then let's get up from this mess and prove our teachers we can deal with this sort of things, even if it sadly means that we won't attend to the dance."
"… At least I won't use those stupid shoes Yang to for me."
"You dolt," Weiss said, rolling her eyes.
Ruby sniffled and wiped away her tears. "Thank you, Weiss."
"It was nothing," Weiss said with a small huff. "With everything happening one of us has to keep their composure."
"Yeah… Hope Blake doesn't do something like that again…"
"From what you said, it's not like Pyrrha and the others are going to let her or us get close to him."
"… Yeah about that… remember that I said I run into him in the forge and he told me everything?"
"… Yeaaaah?"
"Well… Hehe… he asked me to help him do his own Mechashift weapon so we might spend a lot of time together there…" She explained as she shyly poked her index fingers together.
She expected a reprimand from Weiss, her yelling that with the Vytal Festival coming she couldn't be giving weapons to their rivals. She had just accepted because she was feeling down after… well EVERYTHING that happened yesterday, but now that she has revealed this and with their relationship with his team strained then this could only result in a scoldin—
"Genius!" Weiss said as she clasped her hands together.
Huh?
"You will know the in and outs of his knew weapon, so if we face him on the first rounds, the doubles, or heck even the finals then you will know how to counter them!" Weiss said as she stood up and pictured the whole thing in her head. Winning the Vytal Festival not only will solidify them as the best students in Beacon but will regain them the trust of their professors and peers.
"Ummmm… YES! That's totally what I did, and why I did it! All part of Ruby's master plan! HAHAHAH ha… he," Ruby thanked the fact that Weiss was too caught up in her own little world to realize how forced her tone, laughter and demeanor actually sounded like.
The doors of his office opened and Ozpin sighed, linking his fingers together and making him face forward as he leaned down on them. A week has passed since the incident on the highway and it was time for a talk long overdue. The imposing figure of a man that was almost two meters tall with long blonde hair that fell down to his neck which was braided to keep it neat and a beard covering his face. His blue eyes glaring daggers at Ozpin and making the headmaster feel the sweat forming on his forehead and falling down to his face. Out of all the Huntsman to come out of this academy, the one in front of him had to be one of the most fearsome ones. Even if he knew he could beat him thanks to his long, long, experience, it would leave him out of combat for a long while, something he couldn't afford to with the most recent threats roaming around his city.
He cleared his throat. "Nicholas… It is good to see y—"
Nicholas didn't let him talk, he slammed his fist on the desk, leaving a sizeable crack on it. His aura wasn't even up, if the lack of a flare of protection was an indication, and his hand wasn't even hurt. He leaned forward, teeth bared and his nostrils flaring with barely contained rage.
"I want to kill you," Nicholas snarled.
"Nicholas… Please be reasonable," Ozpin said, keeping a calm face, though the sweat on his face betrayed his emotions.
"I am… It's the reason why I struck the desk and not your face!" Nicholas hissed as he glared at Ozpin.
Ozpin took the glare and stared back into his eyes. Waiting for the man to unload whatever he had to say to him.
"What happened to Ja—"
"DON'T TALK ABOUT HIM!" Nicholas roared and for a moment Ozpin's hand flashed to his cane, ready for battle. Nicholas took some raging breaths before leaning to his face and snarling. "You got my boy killed…"
"We don't know if he's—"
"Then why isn't he at home?!" Nicholas demanded. "Why did he even leave in the first place, huh?! You are not that stupid, Oz, or at least I didn't think you were. I don't know how Jaune got those papers, but you should have seen through them! AND YET YOU ACCEPTED HIM!"
He hit the desk again as he yelled. Ozpin's hand was already on his staff, not knowing if he'll have to use it or not.
The headmaster took a calming breath through his nose and kept his eyes on the giant's own. "The Arcs… Ever since your grandfather Philip Arc have always been close allies to all my lives… I didn't see why that wouldn't continue."
"Because of Summer," Nicholas growled as he clenched his fists. "When she died—and don't try to say that there was no body, that's not excuse, just like with Jaune!—I said I wasn't going to be in this anymore, neither I nor my family! And thanks to that one of my girls lives happily on Argus with her wife and child, the life I wanted for them! And you robbed Jaune of that!"
"It was his choice if he wanted to become a Huntsman," Ozpin argued. "If you had trained him."
"Don't you dare…" Nicholas growled as he grabbed the shaft of the weapon strapped to his back and Ozpin realized that without Crocea Moirs Nicholas now used an Axe. "Don't pin this on me, Oz."
Everything was tense for a moment as the two men gripped the handle of their weapons tightly, glaring at each other and waiting for the other to make the first move.
Eventually Nicholas released the weapon and sighed. "I didn't come here to fight."
"I'm relived to hear that," Ozpin said, also releasing his staff but keeping his posture tense. "Then… why—"
"Jaune is dead because of you," Nicholas repeated, his voice low and dangerous. "My wife was destroyed when he escaped, relieved when he was expelled and sent back home, and broke down when he didn't come back. His sisters were all devastated… And the only reason why I'm still standing is for them… the only reason I don't become like Hazel is for them."
Ozpin shuddered at the possibility of this man becoming like Hazel.
"But know this Ozpin," Nicholas said as he jabbed a finger to the headmaster. "As long as I live, no Arc will ever be a Huntsman. No matter the academy, no matter the way, I will not let you place a single hand on my children ever again and the only missions I will take will be those who keep Ansel safe. Are we clear?"
"… Crystal," Ozpin said, his eyes narrowing ever so slightly at the man.
Nicholas huffed and turned around, ready to leave, find a bar while he was away from his wife to drink all the storming feelings inside of his head and heart.
"But Nick… before you leave."
Nicholas clenched his fists and turned around to glare at Ozpin, only to see the man had turned on the screen of his desk—Surprised it still worked after the hits he gave it—to make him look at the image in the screen.
Nicholas eyes widened at the image of a man wearing some sort of green armor, parrying a short, black blade with a blade of his own. Except the blade was all too familiar to him.
"Crocea… Moirs!" Nicholas gasped as he got closer to the skin. "What… who?!"
"This man is someone who we might believe has connections with The Queen," Ozpin explained. "Or at least her pawns. If he has Crocea Moirs then he might know of the fate of Young Arc."
Nicholas clenched his fists, knowing what he was planning on doing.
"If you walk through that door then I stick to my part of the deal, I leave you and your family alone and me and I deal with this my own way… Or you stay and help me uncover this organization running under Vale and find this person who has the blade that belongs to your family for generations… and might know the whereabouts of your son. Your decision."
Nicholas clenched his fists and glared daggers at him. "You are pushing your luck, Ozpin… I will find that bastard. And if he touched a hair of my son's head to get that sword, he'll wish I'll kill him."
This spectacle could not be called a fight as much as it could be called a massacre.
Again, it was time for combat training and Pyrrha got paired against a whole team by herself. The reasons went a bit beyond him, he zoned out during GoodBITCH's exposition, but maybe it was just to once again show the preference academy had for one of their golden students.
And this shit, this was clearly personal for Pyrrha as she tore apart CRDL without any restrain. It didn't help that Cardin barely seemed to be trying and really not caring about what happened to his teammates, Felix could have sworn that he saw him just staring at his teammates getting owned by the Carolina lookalike and just shaking his head in disappointment and just resignation.
Talk about giving up before starting.
He looked to the side and smirked a bit when he saw RWBY or rather RWB on the side. They clearly wanted to cheer on, probably Pyrrha, but couldn't since well kitty kat over there didn't do them any favors on their teams being all buddy-buddy again. And since blondie wasn't with them, she was either still out or just recovering. Crazy to think that it's been a week since the whole running around the highway thing. Time surely flies, doesn't it?
Back to the fight, Pyrrha was merciless and the way her face was pulled into a furious snarl just made it seem like this was personal. Felix rolled his eyes, could she please get over that? They bullied Arc, so what? They were stronger than him, it was their right to do so, it was their right to put that cheating, little shit where he belonged.
As a stepping stone to let Felix raise to glory.
The match ended as everyone expected. Felix felt bad for them as they laid sprawled on the floor and Pyrrha didn't even had a scratch on her aura. Seriously, this girl's talent was absurd. Put her and Carolina and their annoying voices together on a pit and he thinks Carolina might win and that's just because of experience and the armor enhancements.
Sidenote: He missed his armor… And his sword, fucking Locus for taking it from him…
"Well done Miss Nikos," Goodbitch says as she claps her hands to call her student's attention. "You should have no problem qualifying for the finals of the tournament."
"Thank you, professor," Pyrrha says with a polite bow. Felix wondered if the girl would be from Canada had she been born in the Earth.
"Alright," The blonde dominatrix—What else could she be with that dress—says as she looks around her. "Does anyone else want to give a demonstration? I know this might be a thought act to surpass, but I encourage you all to do your best."
As she looked at the face of her students one of them caught her attention, "How about you Miss Belladona, you have been pretty docile in my past classes this last week."
From his seat he could tell the witch was judging the girl and her team from everything that happened weeks ago. He looked to the side and saw Nora and Ren doing the same, he almost wanted to chuckle, but had to keep appearances.
Kitty kat stammered for an answer, before another hand shot up to call the blonde's attention. "I want to give it a go," None other than one of his partners in crime, Mercury Black, said as he stood from his seat.
"Mercury, is it? Very well, let's find you an opponent," Goodwitch said as she adjusted her glasses and looked at the gray-haired boy.
Mercury's eyes for a moment shift towards Felix making him smirk inwardly. Does pretty boy want a rematch after their little match for Felix to get hired? 'Just say the word, pretty boy, it'll be the same, armor or not.'
Sadly, Emerald elbowed the boy lightly and Mercury's eyes turned to Pyrrha. "Actually, I want to fight her."
"Me?" Pyrrha asked in shock.
'Her?' Felix wondered as he raised an eyebrow. Why did pretty boy wanted to fight Pyrrha?
"I'm afraid Miss Nikos just finished her match, I recommend you to choose another opponent," The professor said.
"No, it's fine. I'll be happy to oblige," Pyrrha said, readjusting her weapons to her body.
Goodwitch nodded in acceptance and Mercury jumped into the arena. The two made their ways to the corner and got ready, until the signal came off and the fight started.
And this time it was a real fight, Mercury was going with his kicks while Pyrrha parried and protected with her shield and spear. Felix caught on his intentions when he saw the smug expression never leaving pretty boy's face, he was testing Pyrrha, gathering information about her. This became more obvious when after a barrage of kicks that was blocked by Pyrrha's shield and then ended when she pushed him away and Mercury let out a small, "Hmm…"
But why seize Pyrrha, a student of all people. She was strong sure, but so was Goodbitch, or at least he assumed since she was a full-fledged Huntress.
What did Pyrrha had Glynda didn't? He wondered.
Anyways the battle was over quickly, after Pyrrha tried to charge against him he jumped and pressed his feet with her shield and fired the mechanism in his boot to jump back. When he landed, he gave a soft nod to himself and raised his head to look at Goodwitch. "I forfeit," He declared, making Pyrrha stop on her tracks.
"You… what?" She asked in disbelief.
"I forfeit," Mercury said. "The fight is over."
"You don't even want to try?" Pyrrha asked.
Mercury shrugged. "Why should I? You are a renowned champion; we are obviously on different leagues apart." He said with a smirk.
'Upstart prick,' Felix snorted inwardly. Sure they were leagues apart, Pyrrha and the rest of the students here didn't know what it was like to be out there in the real world truly fighting for their lives.
"The winner then is Pyrrha Nikos!" Goodtits—Heheh, that was a new one and he liked it—said while giving Mercury a disapproving glare. "Next time, know when to choose your opponents, Mister Black."
Mercury just shrugged, but judging by the satisfied smirk on his face he got what he wanted… what exactly?
At that moment his scroll buzzed in his pocket. He took it out and saw that it was a message from Cinder: 'Come to our dorm room, we have to talk.'
Wonder what that's about.
Yang kept her gaze on her sheets, she had woken up two days ago at night and yesterday her team had all but showered her with lots of words of relief and hugs from Ruby… Then they told her about their grounding and their failure on stopping those guys.
She had been enraged at first, they put their lives in the line and tried to do what the police could not… but then the pain of her wound acted up and the reality settled in… She almost died. Someone had been close to killing her even with her aura.
Was that the kind of people that were out there?
And what's worse they sent innocent people to the hospital. Yang was no stranger to hurting others, but only when they deserved it. Like the many bars where someone would try to grope her. But this… they did something stupid and awful.
The only time she felt worse than this was back when she put Ruby in that wagon, what was she thinking?!
All of their preparation and it was for nothing. She wanted to be a Huntress for the thrill of it but… if this was a price to pay then… was she ready?
"Yang."
She sighed and lifted her head to regard the other blonde in the room. Taiyang looks at her from his spot next to her bed, a box of juice on his hand. "Here, nurse said its good for you. Although Tsume was never one to know what was good or bad in most cases."
Yang nodded and grabbed the box. "Thanks dad…"
No sooner than that, Ruby arrived with a nervous expression. Taiyang gave her a small glance before gesturing her to sitting down on her sister's bed.
He took a deep breath and crossed his arms. "I don't think I have to talk about what happened. I could ground the both of you for life, take away your weapons, bumblebee, cookies, and so on for life or until you find another way to live on your own that its not the academy… And it wouldn't be as bad as what happened," he said with a sigh.
Both girls lowered their gazes at their father's words.
"You girls are training to be Huntresses," Tai remarked. "This is not the way to go."
"We were the only ones at the time to know about this…" Yang muttered.
"We could have told Ozpin…" Ruby said surprising her sister. "He would have done something… better than what we did."
"Exactly," Tai nodded at his youngest's words. "He could have sent you too, seeing that you were going to be on exploring missions later this year and even sent one of your professors, or another Huntsman with you. You could have won… And not gotten hurt from this."
Yang lowered her head and bit her lip as she pressed a hand to her wound, knowing that it was going to leave a scar. What would she do if she faced that guy again?
"I came here to check on both of you," he said as he sat up and moved to the bed where the two were. "And for you to promise me… that this won't happen again, girls. That you both won't look into these sort of things, if they come to you then it's another thing. But don't seek this kind of troubles again, please."
Knowing how much their father had lost, make his words feel like a sledgehammer to their hearts. Both girls wrapped their arms around the man and rested their heads on his shoulder, action that he reciprocated.
"We promise," Ruby muttered.
"No more craziness…" Yang said. And deep in her heart she felt conflicted, looking for adventures was what she wanted to do, but know that she went out on what she believed would be hers and her team's first big mission ended with her on a hospital bed, and her team with low spirits.
She knew this kind of adventures would have their dangers, she wasn't that naïve, Grimms were a thing after all and she knew people could be just as dangerous. She just thought that she was ready for it.
Seems she was wrong on that regard.
Tai sat up and walked to the door. "Come on Ruby, let's find something good that she can eat. Even if I agree that hospital food is awful, still have to be careful about what she eats."
"Sure thing!" Ruby perked up as she ran straight to the door. "Don't worry Yang, we are going to get you something good!" She smiled and dashed to the door…
… Only to promptly collide with something solid.
"Ouch!"
"You okay, sis?" Yang called.
"Yeaaah," Ruby said as she shook her head.
"Be more careful kiddo," Tai said as he walked to her youngest daughter.
"My apologize I didn't see where I was going either," A gruff voice called from outside the room. In what Ruby ran to was actually a person.
Tai got out of the room follow Ruby and closed the door behind her, leaving Yang with the curiosity of who was the man.
Ruby couldn't help but stare at the giant of a man towering above her, his blonde hair, a tone lighter than her dad and sister, and blue eyes evoked a familiar memory to her. Something that has been happening ever since a certain student arrived, and well since this whole second semester started.
"Nick?" Her father muttered as he closed the door behind them.
The man's eyes lit in recognition and he gave a small, lopsided smile. "Tai, it's been a while."
"Well over fifteen years, you big goof!" Tai chuckled as he walked forward and clasped hands with the giant man. "How you've been?"
The man's eyes immediately became grim and down casted, before giving a sigh. "I have been better, and you? Still teaching at Signal?"
"Yeah, life of a full time Huntsman isn't good when raising two girls," Tai jested as he ruffled Ruby's hair, making Ruby give him a pouty glare.
"Try seven and then we talk," The man—Nick?—said with a huff before his eyes went to her making her yelp. "So, this is Summer's child, huh?"
Ruby blinked. "You knew my mom?"
"Ruby," Her father said, placing a hand on her shoulder. "He is Nicholas Arc, my senior by a year back when I studied here in Beacon. Nick, this is Ruby, my and Summer's daughter."
"A pleasure, little lady," Nicholas said with a kind smile.
"Arc… You are Jaune's dad," Ruby breathed out as the similarity's between her friend and the man became clear.
Nicholas' eyes widened as he stared at the girl. "You knew my son?!"
"H-He was my friend, the first I made here in Beacon… before…"
"Before he got expelled and then gone missing," Nicholas said as he sighed.
"Nick?" Tai asked with a soft tone, seeing how dejected the man had become.
"My son, the only one amongst all my daughters," Nicholas said softly. "He ran away from home and entered this academy through forged papers… Ozpin allowed him and only sent him home when someone snitched him, but… he never came back…"
Ruby looked down as she remembered the uncertain fate of her friend, as well as how his disappearance created a rift between her team and NPR, something that only got worse with recent events.
Her father wrapped an arm around her and pulled her close, her distress clear enough for him to comfort her. He looked up at the man with a look of sympathy. "I'm so sorry about that, Nick."
"I never wanted him to become a Huntsman, Ozpin is not an idiot he must have seen through the papers and yet he allowed him to stay despite not even having his aura awakened!" He seethed and clenched his fists to the side. "I came here to give him a piece of my mind… the thought of my wife and daughters stopping me from doing something worse."
Ruby gulped as he saw the thunderous look on the man's face, she looked at her father and saw a sort of… understanding? She paused for a second, had something worse happened to Yang or her would he have done something to Ozpin?
"However, I'll be staying in Vale for some time, since he gave me a job here that I must do," He explained, looking calmer than a few moments ago.
"I thought you wouldn't take jobs… Outside of Ansel anymore," For some reason her father seemed to be minding his words as he said that.
"Its personal," Nicholas said as he stretched his neck. "But enough about me, what are you doing here? And your eldest daughter?"
They both winced, with Ruby once again shifting with guilt under her father's arm. "Well, there was an accident… Yang's on bed to rest for now."
"An accident?" Nicholas asked. "From training?"
"Err… Something like that," Tai said scratching his cheek, while Ruby wished it had been something that simple. "I came to check on her and on Ruby here of course."
Nicholas gave a hum of understanding before his eyes went to Ruby again. "You were my son's friend, right?"
"Y-Yes," she said, rapidly nodding her head.
"Were you teammates?" He asked.
"No I'm leader of Team RWBY, he was the leader of team JNPR…" She said with a nostalgic tone, wishing that the team that was once close to hers would be full again.
"He was the leader?!" Nicholas eyes grew a bit, before shaking his head and exhaling. Muttering something about Oz, who could she only assume was Ozpin, under his breath. "Can you take me to them, I wish to meet them. If that's okay."
"I think they'll like that, they live right in front of my dorm," She turned to her dad and smiled. "That way I can also present you my teammates, if they're there."
"I'll like that, sweetie," Tai said with a smile.
Guiding both blonde men, they left the infirmary behind.
"Why am I here again?" Felix asked with a dull look as he laid on one of the beds on team CMEN's room. "And why isn't my Ice-Cream baby here?"
"Neo has more pressing issues to attend right now," Cinder told him with a dismissive wave of his hand as she continued to sew a dress. "As for why you're here, well, your input might come in handy."
"Emphasis in 'might'," Mercury snarked from the floor where he was reading a comic.
"Oh, pretty boy still salty about our match?" Felix asked with mock pity. "I saw the way you were looking at me in class. What happened to the good sportsmanship at that warehouse?"
"Jumped out of the window when I learned how insufferable you can be," Mercury remarked, glaring at him over his comic.
"Boys, behave," Cinder's voice cut the two of them off, making Mercury flinch and Felix roll his eyes.
"Sure thing, Cin," Mercury said with a sigh.
"Whatever," Felix said raising his arms in defeat.
"Cinder," Emerald spoke to gather her leader's attention as she showed a list of people on her scroll. "We've done as told, gathered a list of the students here. The ones who presents the most potential are the members of Team CVFY, Velvet Scarlatina and the leader Coco Adel, from second year, currently away on a mission on the outer settlements. The members of the infamous Team RWBY, but after what happened in the highway I doubt they'll get in our way again."
"You're welcome!" Felix said with a grin.
Pointedly ignoring him, Emerald continued. "And finally, Pyrrha Nikos from Team NPR."
"The "Invincible Girl" huh?" Cinder asked as she finished sewing her black dress.
Mercury scoffs. "She's smart, but I wouldn't say invincible."
"Do tell," Cinder asks as she stares at the silver haired man.
"Her Semblance is Polarity," Emerald reveals. "But you'd never know just by watching."
"Is that why you picked a fight with her? To figure her Semblance out?" Felix asked, raising an eyebrow. "Could have just asked me."
Their heads snapped towards him, with Cinder raising an inquisitive eyebrow at her. "You knew?"
"I figure it out, you know training sessions with them, you tend to pick on some patterns about her attacks… That and my knives sometimes tingling inside my vest," he said as he looked up in thought.
"And you never told us this, because…?" Cinder asked with a low tone meant to intimidate him.
Felix could feel heat coming from her body, and wondered what her Semblance was. He took a deep breath and answered. "Because I didn't know you cared about what the students could do. Remember "Need to know basis" did I needed to know that you were looking after what little kids could do?"
"You better watch your tone!" Emerald said as she sat up and Mercury put his comic away to sit up.
"Stop, both of you," Cinder commanded as she raised a hand towards the two and closed her eyes. She exhaled and raised her head to look at Felix. "You are right, we didn't told you about how important is to keep an eye on the students of this academy. Specially on women, but it truly is for your sake Felix."
She got up from the bed, leaving her dress to Emerald as she walked to Felix. "There are things in this world that you should not know of. If you were someone to use in the long run I might consider telling you, but you and your partner will be on their way when you have my money. Right?"
"Pretty much, yeah," Felix said calmly, honestly with the things he saw in the Great War with The Covenant and the things he's done throughout various planets and systems he doubted anything could truly scare him. And as much as he hated to admit, much less Locus.
"Ignorance is bliss, but do know that Nikos is in our sight, do not become attached to her," Cinder advised.
Felix huffed out a laugh. "Attached? To miss goodie two-shoes? Yeah, right. You guys are more of my type of people, had it been for me I wouldn't even be on that team."
"Good," Cinder turned back and walked back to her bed where Emerald passed her the dress and needle again. "As for the Invincible Girl, well… with a Semblance like that it's normal that she earned that title on the arena."
"Everyone thinks she's untouchable but she does it with just slight adjustments, like when she touched my boots," Mercury said. "Though with our friend's input here now we know contact isn't necessary."
"Again, you're welcome," Felix said giving them a small wave.
"Yes kiddo, we all see you," Emerald waved him off, before turning to Cinder. "You should be able to take her out, no problem."
"It's not about overpowering the enemy," Cinder told her. "It's about taking away what they have."
Mercury lays on the floor, tossing his comic to the side. Which was secretly picked by Felix. "I hate waiting."
"Ditto," Felix said as he flipped over the pages.
"Boys, we have a fun weekend ahead of us," Cinder said as she brought up her sewing needle.
"What a time for my Ice-Cream baby to be away, planned to make her my date," Felix grumbled as he tossed the comic back to Mercury. "Unless one of you ladies wants to—?"
"We already have to dance with Merc to keep appearances," Emerald said with disgust, while Cinder just rolled her eyes at them. "Don't need another reason to puke that night."
"Tch, fine! You lose," Felix said as he finally got out of the room.
Once outside the frown from his face increased as he walked away. True, nothing in this world could surprise him after what he saw out in UNSC territory. Alien civilizations, the famous HALO rings, the temples at Chorus. Everything Covenant related was so surprising that Remnant couldn't to anything to make him feel surprised again.
Yet that didn't take away the uneasiness he felt due to how secretive his sexy contractor was being with all of this. If she was scouring for threats then why not take Goodbitch in consideration? And why only females?
There's still a piece missing here. And it might have to do with whatever was Cindy's endgame. He was going to go through it to the end, it was easy money after all, and he wasn't paid to think. But still, knowing that might throw a wrench in Locus' holier than thou attitude.
Why not just rat him out to Cinder and try and see if she can get rid of him? Because Felix knew Locus for almost twenty years, he's cunning enough to get away and then come and get him. He needs to caught him off guard and whatever Cinder is looking for here in Beacon might be just what he needs.
He sighed as he stopped in front of the dorm where he was staying. Again, time to put up with these bunch of kids, maybe he could show them some moves to live up the lame ass dance that is coming. Remnant sucks because they don't have music half as good as Earth's.
He pushed the door open and smiled at the ones inside. "Hey, guys. Sorry for the wait!"
"FELIX!" Nora bounced to him and wrapped an arm around his shoulders. "You're not going to believe this!"
Felix raised an eyebrow. "Did… Ren finally let you drink coffee?"
Ren shuddered from his bed as he got up. "Never again," He muttered as he got up and walked to his desk.
Pyrrha giggled from her bed, excited in her own way like Nora. "No, we have a visitor!"
Felix was genuinely surprised by this. "Really, who?"
"Sorry about that, I've took a really long trip and didn't realize how much I was holding…" A gruff, yet soft and… familiar voice said as the door from the bathroom opened. "I think I already made a bad first impression of myself."
"It was not a problem at all," Pyrrha reassured their guest.
A man with blonde hair and beard came out, drying his hands with a towel. Ren turned to him and gestured the man to Felix. "Mister Arc, this is the transfer student that's staying with us: Felix. Felix, this is our former teammate's dad: Nicholas Arc."
When the name was dropped on him and he finally recognized the man in front of him, only one thought came to Felix's mind:
'Well… Shit.'
A/N: MISSED ME, ASSHOLES!?
Readers: YOU FUCK!
Okay, I deserve that.
I AM NOT LETTING THIS STORY DIE, OKAY. Just that between College and adapting to some changes in my life I didn't have a lot of free time in my hands.
Doesn't help that Rooster Teeth just done fucked up and the future of RWBY is unknown. Means that worst comes to worst I'll have to think of an ending on my own.
Doesn't help I've already thought of Ideas that span to the Mistral Saga.
I have an ending in mind even before this news. But it's a downer ending. I won't say more, we'll see how the story develops and I'll save it in case I don't want to write this story anymore. At least I'll give it a closure if it comes to that.
I think I finally found the minimum of words for this story. With Hunter X Zero X Two I try to give at least 8k words. But for this, I think 5 to 6k should do.
I also have ideas for both Locus' and Felix's Semblances. But they won't awaken them soon. Some might say Felix should have Jaune's but… do we really want the psychopath to have the power to boost others' powers?
The heroes are getting messed up enough as they are.
Anyways, you know what to do. Fav X and X review.
And for those who read Hunter X Zero X Two, update coming soon.
I love ya. BYE!
