SomeAsshole4145: Sadly.

Delta7344: Me too, man.

Felix glared angrily at Ruby as he waited for an answer. Gripping her hair tighter and causing a yelp to come from her mouth. "I'll ask one last time, girly!" Crater face better give him one hell of an answer. "What are you doing here?!"

She gaped like a fish for a moment, before glaring. "I-I ain't telling you nothing. Y-You… Asshole!"

Oh, so now she's using big, bad words? Part of him felt proud. The majority felt annoyed and irritated.

How could she be here? This place was only accessible through the permission of some high rank Huntsmen. That's why it was chosen as a hideout in the first place! And why sent a first-year, specially one who earned quite the infamous reputation as her, in the first place?! Something wasn't adding up, and that only frustrated him more.

"Well red, if you won't listen to my friend here," Roman said, twirling his cane. "Then maybe you will listen to me after… some convincing."

What was he…?

SMACK!

"Agh!" Ruby was struck across the face, her aura flaring up, by Roman with his cane.

Asshole!

Felix sized him by the arm and turned him around. "What are you doing?!" He hissed angrily.

"I could be asking you the same question, buddy!" Roman said, retching his arm free from his grasp. "What's the problem? I was just teaching the brat a lesson."

"Of how to be stupid?" Felix asked. Roman's eyes fell flat as he looked at him. "Look, this isn't the time to be beating a child to death right now."

A clown beating someone with a red hood with a metallic bar… Where has he seen this before?

Never mind that. Focus!

"With how bore the day has been, it sure as hell is!" Roman said, poking a finger to Felix's chest which he batted away. "I pegged you for someone who would be willing to do that sort of thing, so why so protective all of the sudden?"

Inside his helmet, Felix's eyes strayed towards Ruby, who was being restrained again by two mutts of the Fang. Why was he being protective all of the sudden he asked? Because this girl was the reason he was who he is today, and he was going to make sure she lived long enough to understand and adopt his ways as a thank you.

So, if he wanted to stop Ruby from being Jason Todd-ed, he had to do what he knew best. To lie and twist his words with his unmeasurable charisma to make things go his way, as usual.

"Look, this is the same girl who has been a pain in your ass for the beginning of this year," Felix told him.

Roman scoffed and glared at him. "A girl you said wouldn't get in our way ever again after the Paladin thing."

The reminder made Felix clenched his teeth and fists in anger. "Don't interrupt me again," He threatened. "She has a team. And I doubt she is here alone, sooner or later they'll look for her. And if they somehow manage to find us, it'll be more problem than its worth. So, here's what we should do: Tie her up, load her into the train, and let's get this plan on the way before we have more problems."

"W-What plan…?!" Ruby asked nervously, making Felix groan in annoyance.

"You. Quiet. Before we bring the gag," he told her, making her start struggling again and making the two thugs pin her to the ground. "See? Now you just made it worse…"

She glared at him in anger. But for Felix she just looked like a kid with a pouty look.

"And if just decide to not listen to you?" Roman asked, arms crossed. "This is still a mess you guaranteed was not going to happen."

Count to fucking ten, Felix…

"Because! It is my mess, then you wouldn't want it to suddenly become yours, right?" Felix asked, as he kept his teeth gritted beneath his helmet. "This plan is big. Too big to let ourselves be distracted by something this small…"

Roman crossed his arms and tapped his finger on his bicep. "Or I could just kill her right now."

Ruby tensed and looked up in fright. Felix tensed as well, but couldn't let it show on his stance.

"What? And ruin the fun?" Felix asked, trying to act sardonically. "Let her be in the front row. That she sees what exactly we have now," even if they couldn't see it, he added a sadistic smile to his acting as he turned to Ruby. "And while she can't move, let her see what is to come."

Ruby trembled as his gaze landed on her. He hoped Roman's sadistic side would win him over, otherwise he couldn't save crater face without revealing his identity or looking like a traitor. Fuck! Just why did this have to happen, what is Beacon thinking sending someone who already caused so much damage to a place like this. This is the kind of thing he had hoped to prevent!

Roman uncrossed his arms and looked at Ruby and then at him. "Funny thing is… I know you are playing me, for some reason, but you're right… Neo, get the rope and some tape!"

From behind, the ice-cream bombshell nodded and went inside the railcar. Felix almost sighed in relief. He looked at Ruby who was struggling hard against her captors and crouched to her level, gripping her face so he could see him. "While you're in there, we'll have all the time in the world to talk about why you are here."

Because seriously, for the life of him he couldn't understand why she was here. Fuck. Then there was the fact that Cinder will no doubt hear of this and do… something, he doesn't know what. But if she had all this people grabbed by the balls then it must be something bad.

And the day had started so good, damnit!

Yang switched places with Ruby, her sister more than ready to sleep after a happy 'good night' that just made her heart feel lighter, the Ruby effect she called it. Though, she supposed everyone with a cute, younger sister like hers would feel the same way.

Yet even if she stared down at the Grimms, few of them actually coming close within her firing range, she felt… detached from all of it. And it mostly routed itself back to her conversation she had with Mister Arc early. Why did she choose to be a Huntress? She wanted to talk it with the others but…

She glanced back, and smiled with relief, Blake was sleeping. Finally, after who knows how many nights, her partner was asleep. Since they returned from clearing the area she looked… pensative for some reason, more so than she usually did.

It was why Yang didn't wake her or Weiss up. Blake was finally resting, and it would be unfair to just wake Weiss up. And who knew how Weiss-cream would take it if she interrupted her beauty sleep.

She didn't lie to Mister Arc when she said she was a thrill-seeker who wanted adventures, Qrow always returned with gifts and presents for her and Ruby each time he came back from a mission. And even if their father was basically retired, he still took missions from time to time, and did the same thing. And Summer… well, she got her famous bed times stories from somewhere, you know?

And yet, she had this feeling in her chest that the answer wasn't that… satisfying when said out-loud. It's not that she wanted to look good in front of the Huntsman or anything, just… When said out-loud to someone like him, it feels… shallow and superficial. No matter how much she knows it's a proper reason like any other.

"Yang," She was snapped from her thoughts as Weiss approached her. "Switch time."

Already?! She checked her scroll and yes, it was time. "Oh…"

"Is everything okay?" Weiss asked as she sat next to her. Yang didn't answer at first, yet Weiss knew how to hit the nail in the head. "Is it about… What Mister Arc asked before?"

"I mean…" She sighed. No use in hiding it. "Yes, yes, it is…"

Weiss sat next to her as Yang decided to let out what was weighing on her chest. "Why do you think he asked us about being a Huntress? Like, what was he trying to say?"

Weiss sighed as she rested her chin into her hand. "I…" She ran a hand through her hair and hesitated to answer. "I… Told him I wanted to uphold the honor of my family and I meant it but… That's… not everything there is to it. I know that ever since my father took over, the company has been in a… very gray area."

She draws her knees together as she talks, and Yang just scoots closer in a show of support. "Which is why I feel the need to make things right. My father wasn't the start of the company and I refuse to let him be the end of it."

Yang sighed as she looked back down at the empty streets. "At least you have something that drives you… And I think Blake has it too…" She said, looking at her sleeping partner, wishing she wasn't too tired to not be in this conversation. "I've just kinda of always, gone with the flow, y'know? And that's fine, I mean, that's who I am. But how long can I really do that for?"

She looks up at their broken moon. "I'm not like Ruby who always had it figure it out. That she wanted to be Huntress to be a hero like the ones in the stories. That's why she trained so hard to be where she is."

"Well, she is still a kid," Weiss reminded.

Yang gave her the stinky eye. "Only two years younger. And she has been dealing with a lot of the shit we've been through this semester and still going with her head high."

Weiss flinched for some reason, but nodded regardless. "Yes, you're right…"

"And besides, who can call us kids when we are in the middle of a warzone armed with to the teeth," she said, spreading her arms out for emphasis and gesturing to the empty streets of the place. "That's not something 'kids' our age do."

"It's… the life we choose," Weiss said, with slow realization. "It's a job. We both had this…romanticized vision of being a Huntress in our heads. But at the end of the day, it's a job to protect the people… And whatever we want, will have to come second. That's what Mister Arc wanted us to learn…"

Yang blinked, realizing the truth of her words. Any other motives to be one didn't mattered—shouldn't matter—innocent lives came first in their line of duty. And maybe, Ruby was their leader because she knows that better than any of them.

She turned to look at her sister with a proud smile, only for her eyes to widen. "Weiss… where's Ruby?"

"Huh?" Weiss turned, and saw the same lack of Ruby as well. "I… didn't noticed she wasn't there."

Yang took her scroll and tried to call her, only for a message of 'low signal' to appear. "Ugh, really!"

"Bark! Bark!" Both her and Weiss's head snapped to the side to see Zwei barking frantically as he entered the room, waking Blake up in the process.

"Huh-What…?" The dazed Faunus asked, as she looked around. When her eyes landed on Zwei, her ears pressed against her head "What's going on with him?"

"Girls?!" Nicholas also entered the room, looking worried. "Everything alright?"

"We don't know," Yang said as she crouched next to Zwei. "Zwei? What is it boy?"

The dog barks again and leaves, making the people in the room exchange glances, before Nicholas follows him. "C'mon, grab your weapons!"

"W-what?" Blake, still trying to make sense of what's happening, does as she's told, but looking confused. "Why?"

Nicholas gives them a grim look. "Ruby might be in trouble."

That's more than enough for Yang to run right next to Nicholas when they leave the building.

Weiss feels like slapping herself as they followed Zwei around corner after corner. How could she not notice her partner slipping away like that? Yes, she was half-awake at the moment, but this was not the first time something like this happens, first was Ruby bringing Zwei in the first place and receiving a scolding from Mister Arc as a result. She really has to be more aware of what her partner is doing.

They turn around a corner, where Zwei starts barking at some rubble. When they get closer, they noticed there was something hidden in the rubble, a familiar red weapon.

"That's Crescent Rose!" Yang gasped as she took her sister's weapon. "But… Where's Ruby?"

Mister Arc stroke his beard in thought, trying to look around for any sign of their missing member. Then his eyes land on Zwei and wander back to Crescent Rose, he hums and turns fully to Yang. "Is Zwei a good tracker?"

Everyone blinks at him, before realization downs in, Yang nodding eagerly. "Yes! Yes, he is," She kneels and puts Crescent Rose in front of him. "C'mon boy…"

The adorable puppy does as told. He sniffs the weapon a few times and then sniffs the floor around them, before starting to bark. "Woof, woof!"

Again, he takes off running and again they follow. He hopefully took Ruby's essence, and now bringing him seemed like a real blessing, if what took Ruby is whom she thinks, then their missions both got a lot simpler and more complicated at the same time.

'You dolt. You better be fine!' Weiss thought in worry of her friend.

Zwei eventually found a hole on the floor, a crater that lead to a cavern filled with buildings. "What is all of this…?" Blake asked, echoing the general feeling of the team.

Mister Arc looks at the cavern and slaps his forehead. "Of course! The tunnels! Mountain Glenn had a subway that connected to the main city, when the Grimm overwhelmed the settlement, the refugees turned it into an underground village. The perfect place for an underground operation to take place."

"And if Zwei's nose is right…" Weiss said, looking down the whole. "That's where Ruby is."

"It doesn't make sense though," Nicholas said. "The tunnels were sealed as a… sad, and tragical last resource to keep the Grimm from reaching the city. This cavern is nothing but a tomb... what could they gain there?"

"We're about to find out," Blake said, gripping Gambol Shroud. Even if she gained some hours of sleep back in the camp, dark circles were still present in her face.

Still their leader and friend needed help, so they must push take a leap of faith.

"Mmph! Mmph!" Ruby struggled as she was carried to one of the trail cars connected to the train. Her body torso tied with her arms pinned to the side, arms tied behind her back, legs tied by their ankles and tights, and her mouth wrapped shut by the silver duct.

Felix observed with relief as she was carried away. He could free her later when no one was watching and avoid getting her kill in the following disaster that they were going to cause. He had played it too close to comfort for her safety, but it would pay off someday, hopefully soon.

"What was all that?" Ugh… He turned around to be met with Locus staring at him.

"You're going to get in my case too?" Felix asked. He did not need this right now.

"You are the same person who wanted to kill an alien for stepping in one of our bases," Locus reminded him. "This girl possibly has a team coming for her, and yet you seemed keen on sparing her life. Why?"

"It's more trouble if she's dead," He replied swiftly.

"Dead her team would be demoralized and lashing out angrily," Locus countered. "Easier to put down."

"Heh, so you still had that mechanical thinking of yours somewhere in there, huh?" Felix fired back, trying to get the conversation off the topic.

Locus stayed quiet for a moment, until he opened his mouth. "Does it have to do with Jaune Arc."

"No, it fucking doesn't!" He snapped angrily, getting closer to Locus and pressing his helmet against him. "Do not mention that brat again! He is dead!"

This doesn't have to do with Arc! Nothing has to do with Arc! He is dead! DEAD! Just like he will make sure Locus is when this whole job with Cinder is over. He doesn't know how or when, but he will be! He has pressed Felix's buttons too much to just let it go like that. Better soldier or not, Locus is going down —

BOOM!

… Oh, what now!?

They both turned to see some explosions occurring around the corner of one of the buildings. Members of the White Fang firing at an enemy they couldn't see. It wasn't Grimm, that got proven when two bullets and a blast of ice sent their grunts flying back. Their attackers turned around the corner and the rest of Team RWBY, plus… a dog, made themselves know.

And they weren't alone. For Nicholas Arc was with them.

'Fuck. My. Life!' Felix thought in anger.

"So," Roman said. "They weren't going to be a problem anymore, huh?"

Felix turned to him, wanting to plug his eyes out with a knife. "How about you round up these animals and charge up the train. We have to go."

Roman scoffed and turned around. "Bossing me around…" Still, the mascara wearing bitch did as he was told. Turning to a White Fang member nearby. "Attach this cart and spread the word, we're starting the train."

"But we're not finished—UGH" The mutt got pinned by Roman, who gave him a glare.

"Do it, or you're finish," He threatened before letting him go.

Other White Fang members fend Team RWBY and Nicholas up. Locus climbs in, with Felix about to follow until he hears a shout. "HEY!"

He stops and turns to see blondie knocking away some grunts and turning to glare at him. Felix smirks at her and waves. "Blondie! Ready to get me inside of you again?"

She flinches as his voice reaches her. And he takes so much satisfaction in seeing her hand shaking. Oh, he left an impression alright. He likes it.

"W-Where's my sister, you bastard!" She yells, trying to look threatening.

"Come and find out," he says as the train starts and he holds to the door frame. "I'll be ready for round two."

Then Roman's voice came through the speakers. "Get to your places, we are leaving now!"

Those who are still standing climb into the train. The engine starts and their transport starts moving down the road and off to the sealed tunnels ahead of them. Next stop: chaos in Vale.

The train started moving, and Nicholas knew they didn't have time to lose. He wiped his Scroll out wanting to call for backup, only to see a 'No-Signal' message much to his frustration. Which only aggravated when Yang growled and shot forward with a yell.

"GIVE ME BACK MY SISTER!" She roared, eyes red and hair on fire.

"Woof, woof!" Zwei barked as well. Loyal little guy wanting his owner back as well.

They had the right idea, if a bit impulsive. He charged after them, followed by the others. "Yang! Keep your head cool, you'll be of no help like this!"

Yang glared at him, which he matched with one of his own. She gritted her teeth and closed her eyes. The flames around her head dying down, but her eyes still red in a way that make the resemblance with Raven even more uncanny. Meanwhile, little Zwei whimpered, disheartened.

Nicholas turned to their resident Faunus. "Blake, attach us!"

She nodded and unsheathed her weapon. Even if she still looked tired, she seemed more capable than before. She threw her weapon towards the train, wrapping it around the railing in the trail car and tugged herself in its direction, grabbing Zwei in the process to jump in.

"Weiss, give us a push!" He told the young Schnee. Who complied, making Glyphs appear on their feet and giving them a boost that launched them to the trail car with Blake.

Once in the back of the rail car, Nicholas stood in front of the door. He gripped the handle, but it wouldn't budge. Growling, he used his Semblance and reared his fist back. With a thunderous punch, the door was broken down, startling the sole White Fang grunt inside.

"What the—?!" He asked, before Nicholas applied his Semblance on his leg to charge at him and knock him down with a single punch. "Ugh!"

His Semblance was Pump-Up. He could augment the density of his aura on certain parts of his body to increase its strength. This giving him more speed in he Pumped it on his legs or the strength to blow a Grimm's head off. Its drawback was that it burned his aura fast even if he didn't received damage, so he couldn't use it constantly.

"Our welcome was definitely loud," Nicholas told them. "Not that it matters…" He trailed off and pointed to the ceiling, where a camera observed them.

He looked up and noticed a hatch that lead to the roof of the railcar. He opened it with little effort and let the girls climb up first, along with Zwei, before following.

Yang glared ahead, clearly one thing on her mind that she voiced. "Where do they have her?!"

"Our mission is as following girls," Nicholas said, drawing their attention. "Stop this train, and find Ruby. The priority being on the first," Yang opened her mouth in clear protest but he shut her off. "We stop this train we stop their plan and avoid getting them away with Ruby!"

She closed her mouth and nodded. Weiss meanwhile opened another hatch on the ceiling and looked startled. "Umm… Mister Arc?"

"Hm?" He leaned over her shoulder and his eyes widened by what he saw inside a medium-size slot. "Oh dear… Girls… we have a bomb into our hands."

The girls flinched away from it, and Nicholas eyes narrowed at the explosive. Just what was the White Fang planning to do with this? And in the rear car no less.

"Arf, arf!" Zwei barked ahead of them. They look up to see many White Fang grunts climbing up to the ceiling. And there was a possibility that many more were waiting to join in from the carts ahead. No matter what, a brawl was about to break out.

"Can this get any worse!?" Weiss asked, stamping her foot.

Then the bomb started beeping rapidly.

"You just had to say it…" Nicholas grumbled as he palmed his face. "Go, deal with them and get off this car! Blake, detach it so it won't blow us all up."

"On it!" Blake said. Well, at least she wasn't grumpy anymore.

As she dealt with that, he jumped to the next railcar with the other two girls and the dog following him. When they landed, the railcar behind them with the bomb detached. Nicholas was about to congratulate Blake, when she spoke.

"Mister Arc! It detached itself!" She said, in a startled tone.

"What?!" But why…?

"I guess he doesn't really want us in this train," Yang commented dryly as she helped Blake up.

Then why not detach the front…? The rear trail car got further away, until suddenly…

BOOM!

It went ablaze in a fireball. Causing a tremor across the tunnel and opening a hole in the ceiling above the detonation sight. Nicholas eyes widened as a theory formed in his head.

"Oh, dear lord…" He muttered.

"Sir!" He turned, to see Weiss having opened another hatch, and he dreaded to know what was in there. "There is another one!"

His theory was gaining strength and that wasn't a good thing. He dashed past them and landed on the cart ahead of them, where another hatch was waiting him. He opened it and was met with the sight of yet a new another one. By rule of three, this means the theory was confirmed.

"They all have bombs!" He warned them, just as the one where the girls were standing started going off.

They jumped to the cart where he was on, when history repeated itself. The cart detached itself from the train. Yang threw her arms in frustration and confusion. "This doesn't make sense!" She exclaimed.

They had bigger things to worry about too. Ahead of them, members of the White Fang kept climbing up, with one of them with antlers riling them up with a yell of: "Get the humans!"

The girls all got in position to face the grunts of. Everyone held their own perfectly. Although… Blake had definitively improved with a couple hours of sleep, yet she was still slipping. Luckily, Zwei was there to actually tackle down or bite on the grunts that approached her from her openings.

'That dog is something else…' Nicholas thought. Now more than ever wanting to save Ruby if only to apologize for his quick judgement on her decision. Still impulsive for not telling him beforehand… but still, that dog was a blessing.

He sadly got cut off his musings by another explosion. He turned to see the cart blowing up and impacting against the cavern's ceiling and opening a sizeable hole in it. His blood ran cold when various creatures of Grimm rained from said hole and set their sights on the train. Taijitus, Creeps, Ursai, Beowolves, and even small Deathstalkers all roared and charged after the train.

"Sick bastards…" He growled and turned to the girls. "They're leading Grimm to the city!"

"What?!" Weiss asked as she sheathed her rapier.

Blake looked the most appalled to it all. As a former member of the White Fang and daughter to their founders this must be a heavy blow. "That's insane!"

Another one detached, and this would most definitely kill some Grimm only to bring more of them out. "We have to hurry!"

He joined them up and looked around. "Yang. You and I will go inside and stop the bombs while looking for Ruby. Blake, Weiss, Zwei, you will stop this train."

"I want to stop Torchwick," Blake said, looking fiercely at him.

"Torchwick or the safety of the population, Blake!" He snapped, not wanting to deal with this right now. "Make your choice."

She flinched and lowered her gaze, before finally sighing. "Fine."

Nodding in satisfaction, him and Yang dropped to the back of the railcar and like before he forced the door open letting Yang in with him following her closely.

'Hypocrite,' A part of his mind scold him for what he had said to Blake. 'You should have stayed up there and help them out. But you also have someone you want to chase inside the train.'

True. It was all true. He wanted to stop the train to avoid a disaster coming towards the city. But above all else, he wanted to hunt the man with green armor. The one Ozpin showed him footage using Crocea Moirs.

The man that could possibly be his lead to Jaune. Nicholas Arc bowed that no matter what, he will get his answers on what happened to his boy will fulfilling his duty as a Huntsman of protecting the innocent from any damage.

A/N: I'm sorry this took so long.

I just lost my mojo because of college. I had so many stuff to do last year in my last semester that I couldn't find energy to write.

Also I think I have to try something else to improve my P a treon. I am thinking on either take commission for short stories, or a reaction fic where I write what people commission me.

They are just ideas. I really hope I can revive the P^a treo somehow.

Hope you liked this chapter. I'll fight to get my mojo back.
