So here I introduce a means for Lotus to begin learning about the true history of Mizzer now that she's in the Nexus.
Just then a strange floating translucent man wearing one of those strange masks that the same people who took Lotus from Mizzer were wearing said "Daimyo! Your attention is needed to the Tournament Preparations!"
"Tournament?" Lotus cocked her head
"Yes." The Daimyo said "The primary reason for my realm is to host the Battle Nexus Tournament! A contest held every three years where the best warriors from every universe come to prove their worth!"
"A...Fighting contest?" Lotus asked as a Mizzeran her culture viewed war as the worst possible thing hence all the emphasis in public service announcements about all races and species 'getting along' and being friends and while there were Martial Arts such as Karate classes for kids and more Western sports like Boxing and Wrestling, most of these were not popular among Humanimals with the possible exception of wrestling because Humanimals with their many different shapes and sizes really find these sports too much a risk of hurting each other and among these humans these Martial Arts were meant purely for sport, never to seriously hurt another intelligent being…
"Gross…" Lotus finally said not even bothering to suppress her serpentine extending of the S sound.
"Ah…" Daimyo sighed but also gave a chuckle "I had been warned that your world was founded on devout pacifism. "Perhaps Snake Child your time here will teach you that sometimes war is a necessity because if you are unwilling to protect yourself you are helpless
With the new knowledge that her planet had been invaded by slavers...Lotus had to concede that the Daimyo had a point.
"Wait!" Lotus said "I have so many questions now! We're made of fairy magic? Does that make me a fairy? What about…"
The Daimyo held up his hand for silence
"I see you are bright child…" The Daimyo said "...And I think there is already something I can give you to occupy yourself while I tend to my duties…" He turned to the strange floating man "Gyoji! Take the Snake Child to the library and give her book about the history of her world...The true history of her world…"
The strange floating man led Lotus down many corridors, Lotus tongue flickered in an out she was smelling so many creatures with scents she could not identify! And living in Sunshine County she was pretty sure she had smelled the scent of at least every Humanimal Species there was on Mizzer particularly during the tourist season when they all gather in the theme parks and on the beaches!
Finally they reached the library, there were shelves upon shelves of books and scrolls almost all of them looking very ancient…
"It's funny…" Lotus said bashfully feeling intimidated by how important everything looked "The only things I ever cared about in the library were the picture books when I was very little, since then I've kind of stopped thinking about books so much…"
"If you so wish it…" The strange floating man called Gyoji said in a strange echoing voice "...We can summon any book from your home world you may wish to read for your entertainment, it is no trouble to us and it is probably better for the artifacts of your world to be taken somewhere safe before they start to rot...But first things first…"
Gyoji turned to a certain shelf and...Levitated a book off the shelf and lowered in down to her.
Lotus read the title out loud "The Story of My Memories...By Pinky Earthmover...Who the heck is Pinky Earthmover?!"
"She is one of the first Earthworm Humanimals that were brought to Planet Mizzer from First Earth." Said Gyoji
"There are Earthworm Humanimals?!" Lotus exclaimed
"All the Insects and Worms were banished to the underground as you will discover in that book…" Gyoji said "We have the only other copy of that book because of our ability to communicate with the spirit world thus Pinky Earthmover was able to give us another copy from the afterlife the original copy had laid locked in a chest tended to by her descendants with instructions never to open the chest unless it is an emergency...One would hope her descendants thought to open the chest and grab the book before they were captured by the Wranglers…"
And Lotus gulped realizing what a precious piece of history she now held in her hands…
