A week has passed. Kara and Lena were sitting in a café, drinking their favorite coffee. As the two best friends were talking, someone turned the TV on.
"Kara Danvers, a genius? Who is this mysterious young woman? Recently Kara Danvers provided a detailed and very comprehensive explanations for her commentary on Nanotechnology. Later, Miss Danvers submitted her scientific paper to one of the most prestigious science journals. And while her paper was on the topic of nanotechnology, young Miss Danvers casually used three new and improved Calculus ways, as well as many other scientific and mathematical formulae that still have all leading scientific experts confused, since no one ever used, or even thought of these ways to approach science before, not to mention that the way that young Miss Danvers used these methodologies suggested that they were like basic arithmetic to her," said the reporter covering scientific topics.
Kara blushed, looking at Lena. "Whoops?" Kara said.
"Kara, don't worry, you don't need to hide your intelligence just so that you can have a normal life. You were right to show that you understood everything Jack said about nanotechnology, and I applaud you for actually improving upon everything he argued in his presentation. I have to admit, I've never considered even ten percent of what you wrote in the paper, but once I read it, everything became clear. It all actually makes sense. I just don't understand how even leading scientists don't understand even fifteen percent of what you wrote, and they had more than a week to examine and peer review your paper," said Lena.
Kara blushed once more. "Well, back on Krypton, Kryptonians in the Science Guild, together with the Coluans created a system to estimate the intelligence of various individuals in the universe. Of course the system was inherently biased, since it took into account not only the actual intelligence of a person, but also the level of scientific understanding. For example, an average human one thousand years ago might have had an intellect level of ten, while an average human now might have an average intellect level of twenty -five. That is, if we were to compare the average scores of humans before and now. Actually, Kryptonians and Coluans put twelve as the top level intellect possible," said Kara.
"Interesting. Does this mean that modern humans have level three or five intellect?" Lena asked.
"No. Actually, a well-educated college student has a 1st level intellect," said Kara. "An average Kryptonian had a 5th level intellect. Again, the scale was biased not just in terms of actual intelligence, but also of scientific and other knowledge a person knew,"
"Okay. I am still confused why no one else actually understood your paper," said Lena.
"Well, all those scientists had at most one point fifth level of intellect, and you have a seventh," said Kara.
Lena didn't speak for a few moments. "Wait, what? Lena asked.
"You are one, if not the most, smartest human on the planet," said Kara. "Granted, once you look at the Kryptonian science, or even just elementary Kryptonian textbooks, your score would get higher. Like Alex had a three when I met her, but her knowledge of xenobiology outclasses almost anyone, even various aliens I've met,"
"Seventh level of intellect?" Lena asked.
"Well, yeah, at least I can estimate it using some complicated Kryptonian algorithms. My uncle Jor El was one of the smartest Kryptonians of his time, and he was around eighth level of intellect," said Kara. "And I was a prodigy, even with Kryptonian standards, so yeah,"
"I knew you were smart, but this smart?" Lena opened her mouth wide in surprise.
"Sorry," said Kara, blushing. "If it makes you feel better, Clark had a potential to be around my level of intelligence, especially since we are both from the House of El, but since he lived on Earth, he only has like fourth level of intellect. That does give me an idea. When I will next see him, I will inform my annoying baby cousin that my sister is smart than him,"
Kara sat proudly on the chair, showing her tongue, and making a silly face. Lena laughed.
Kara and Lena continued drinking coffee. The science reporter stopped talking about the other scientific improvements and discoveries, telling that people were trapped in a tall building, with all the doors closed off due to huge rocks blocking them, and fire was slowly approaching the crowded room.
Kara looked at Lena. "I have to go," said Kara. Lena nodded. Kara ran away from the café, and then quickly changed into her Supergirl costume; she then flew to the building to save people still trapped inside the room.
When Kara arrived, the whole room was full of smoke. Luckily, fire still hadn't entered the room, so people had some time to escape.
"Don't worry, I am here to help," said Kara, destroying a small portion of the wall, creating a hole through which the smoke began to escape the house. Kara now could see ten scared people.
Kara waived to the people in the apartment, but before she could save them, a fist collided with her stomach, sending Kara at one of the walls inside the building. A few rocks fell from the ceiling, but before they could hurt anyone, Kara used her heat vision to destroy the rocks.
Kara stood up from the broken wall, looking at her surroundings. She rose in the air, and looked around. Kara was surprised to find that a woman, dressed in Supergirl costume, and having Kara's face was hovering in the air, staring directly at Kara.
The woman who looked at Kara then looked at people, and prepared to use heat vision, but Kara flew at this woman, and began fighting her. Kara threw this woman away from the room, and now looked at her outside the building.
"Who are you?" Kara asked.
"We kill Supergirl," the other woman said, and flew at Kara.
Kara caught the woman, and punched her, then flying after this woman, away from the burning building. Kara saw that Alex had arrived, flew past Kara, and began rescuing people.
While Alex was busy saving the people from the burning building, Kara exchanged punches with the other woman who apparently had the same abilities as she did. And while that woman punched Kara hard, none of the punches actually hurt Kara. They had about equal strength, and neither had any advantage over the other.
"Hey Kara, I saved all of those people. Who is this woman?" Alex said, approaching Kara. Supergirl and Powergirl looked at the woman who attacked Kara. Once that woman saw Alex, she used her heat vision in two directions, and then promptly flew off.
Kara sighed, and flew to save people from one of the two locations, while Alex flew to save people from the other location. Once they finished rescuing people, the attacker was gone.
Ten minutes later, Kara, Alex, and Lena stood in the DEO main room. "It was strange, that woman had all my powers, same strength and speed. Okay, she was Kryptonian, but she also had my face!" Kara said.
"Kara, it could've been Astra," said Alex.
"No, Astra wouldn't try to hurt me like this. No, it was probably someone using Kryptonian tech to have their face look like mine, but why? Why did she attack me?" Kara asked.
"What about Lex?" Lena asked.
"I doubt it. Lex doesn't have any connection to the outside world, although I can ask Maggie to check up on this," said Alex.
"It can be a rogue Kryptonian, but Astra is their general, and I really doubt that they would disobey her. And it had to be a Kryptonian, since this woman had my abilities," said Kara.
"Okay, if she wasn't one of Astra's minions, who was she?" Alex thought. "And we do need to consider who has the resources to technology that Kryptonians have,"
Alex looked at Lena and then back at Kara and then once again at Lena. Alex then walked towards a DEO computer, types a few things, and looked at video recordings from Maxwell's lab.
"That's interesting, I just checked some video recordings from Maxwell, and he recently acquired seven girls, who were never heard again," said Alex.
"You think Maxwell is behind this?" Lena asked.
"Could be. You told me he had anti Kryptonian tech, and he antagonized Kara earlier. And while Max has some anti Kryptonian weapons, we don't know if he actually has any Kryptonian tech. Still, I can check this lead, and I really hope that I am wrong," said Alex.
Alex flew to the locker room, and then returned, now wearing a dress. "Alex, where are you going?" Kara asked.
"I am going to give Max a visit," said Alex. She exited the DEO and once she noticed that no one was looking, flew to Maxwell's office, where she quietly landed in an alley, and then walked towards the office building.
"Agent Danvers!" Max seemed happy that Alex had visited him. "To what do I owe you the pleasure?"
"Cut the crap Max, I know you were behind this attack," said Alex.
"I am not admitting anything, but out of curiosity, can you be a bit more specific?" Max asked.
"I know about those girls. I saw the video recordings from your cameras. You brought them to your lab, experimented on them, and using some advanced genetic methods created this Kryptonian semi Supergirl clone," said Alex.
"Fascinating. You are very intelligent, Agent Danvers, although it was just some elementary genetics that can produce such a result," said Max.
"You experimented on seven girls!" Alex said.
"You don't have proof of that, but let's assume that I did. If I were the one actually responsible in creating this, this Bizarro, I would've known that all those girls were already basically dead, and I just gave them the opportunity to live, and to defend humanity, rather than have these Kryptonians show us humans that they are better than us," said Max.
"I must warn you, if you hurt Supergirl –" said Alex
"You will do nothing. You see, you have no proof that I did anything wrong, and if you try anything things will get very bad for you, and in particular for your family. And your sister's abilities won't save her from my anger," said Max.
"I will be watching you," said Alex, walking towards the exit of Max's office.
"Please do, oh and feel free to come to my office more often. I would love to have a date with you, and if you want, your girlfriend could join us," said Max.
Alex ignored Max's comments, and just left the office; she soon returned to the DEO.
"So?" Kara asked her sister.
"I spoke with Max and he all but admitted everything. He somehow found some of your DNA and then used it to enhance one of the brain dead girls he found, thus he created this Bizarro," said Alex.
"So Max created a semi clone," said Kara, "I see now, it makes sense why this woman looked so much like me.
"Now that we know who she is, we will take Kryptonite darts and put her down," said Alex.
"But Bizarro is not our enemy, Max is," said Kara.
"Max created Bizarro, she is his project, and we need to stop this project," said Alex.
"Why can't we just arrest Max?" Kara asked.
"The DEO doesn't have authority," said Alex.
"But Maggie does," said Kara.
"No," said Alex.
"Yes," said Kara, approaching the phone.
"Kara, no," said Alex, but Kara ignored her.
"Kara, yes," said Kara picking the phone and calling Maggie, asking her to arrive at the DEO.
Maggie arrived shortly, wondering why Kara wanted to speak with her. "Hey babe," said Alex.
"Maggie, I, we need your help," said Kara.
"I am listening," said Maggie.
"So Alex found out that Maxwell Lord experimented on seven brain dead girls and created this Bizarro, whom I fought earlier," said Kara.
Maggie nodded. "So how can I help?" Maggie asked.
"Well, Alex told me that she doesn't have any authority to go after Max, and while we do need to stop Bizarro, she is also a victim in this situation. Even after we defeat Bizarro, we need to make sure that Max won't try this again," said Kara.
"Wait, wait, are you saying that you need my help, since I am a Detective, and Alex is the Director of the DEO, the agency that protects against hostile aliens, and has authority for anything related to aliens, but has no jurisdiction over pure human affairs? Ha, I have jurisdiction and you don't, Danvers," said Maggie.
"Yes," said Alex. She sighed.
"Finally! You admitted that I have jurisdiction in a case where you don't! I feel so great. Because you bet me that we won't ever deal with a case where only I will have jurisdiction, you will need to use these later when we get back home," said Maggie, showing handcuffs to Alex.
"Wait, are these?" Kara didn't finish, as she promptly flew away from the DEO. Alex just shook her head.
"You shouldn't have taken that bet, Alex," said Lena.
"Ha, ha," said Alex, walking away from Lena and Maggie. She needed to find Susan and Demos, who would help her lead an attack force to capture Bizarro before the semi Supergirl clone could hurt anyone else.
Kara returned to CatCo, where she helped Cat with work. Once again, Kara had much more responsibility than before, working more than any assistant to Cat Grant ever would need to, and with Cat just observing how Kara handled various meetings, Kara wondered what Cat's plan was. Kara was especially surprised when Cat called Kara to a meeting, where Cat told Kara to sit at Cat's chair, while Cat herself, while present in the room, just observed how Kara talked with other Heads of Departments.
Once done with work, Kara went to get some coffee. After Kara bought the drink, she decided to walk in the park. She could return to the DEO, but Kara decided against that, especially since she still remembered clearly how Maggie teased Alex, and Kara didn't need to all the details of what Alex and Maggie liked to do while alone.
Kara drank coffee, sitting on the bench. The wind was chilly, the weather was calm, and Kara felt relaxed. While she knew she had to stop Bizarro, in that moment Kara was at peace.
But that peace didn't last for long.
As Kara sat on the bench, she felt that a familiar person punched Kara. Kara landed on the ground and saw Bizarro Supergirl.
"We kill Supergirl," said Bizarro Supergirl, using heat vision, and sending it at Kara.
Kara used her own heat vision. The powers collided, and neither was winning the starring contest.
Kara dropped on the ground, closing her eyes, and then quickly flew towards Bizarro, punching her, and using freeze breath to immobilize Bizarro.
"Supergirl is weak. We kill Supergirl," said Bizarro, destroying the ice, and using her powers, only this time, instead of freeze breath, Bizarro breathed fire.
Kara dodged the fire, and flew at Bizarro Supergirl, hitting her once again. Kara then grabbed Bizarro Supergirl's hand, but Bizarro caught Supergirl's other hand, and the two women began rolling on the ground.
"Supergirl," said Alex, hovering in the air.
Alex wore her Powergirl costume. She flew towards Kara and grabbed Bizarro. While Bizarro Supergirl was strong, she had the strength of a regular Kryptonian, and Kara and Alex together easily overpowered her.
Kara saw three DEO cars that arrived in the park; they had to have followed Alex, who came to help Kara.
"Fire," Alex ordered the DEO agents to fire Kryptonite darts at Bizarro Supergirl.
While Alex made sure that the amount of Kryptonite would be sufficient to weaken Bizarro, she wanted to take Bizarro alive, with using just enough Kryptonite to weaken, and not permanently harm Bizarro Supergirl.
The DEO agents shot the darts. While most darts hit Bizarro, some hit Kara and Alex, who screamed from pain, and dropped on the ground, and even though they still held Bizarro, their hold on the semi clone had weakened.
"Pain! We feel so much pain!" Bizarro Supergirl cried, pushing her arms in opposite directions, throwing weakened Kara and Alex away from her.
Bizarro Supergirl then rose in the air and looked at Kara and Alex. Much to their surprise, Kara and Alex saw that Bizarro Supergirl's face turned white.
"The Kryptonite must have mutated her face," said Alex.
Bizarro screamed once more, then looked at the DEO agents, and flew away from the scene, leaving Kara and Alex lying on the ground, unable to pursue.
"She escaped! Again!" Kara said.
"Don't worry Kara, we will find Bizarro again," said Alex, sitting up and hugging her sister. Kara smiled.
A few days passed, and Bizarro hasn't been seen. Kara wanted to keep searching for her, but Cat kept Kara very busy with the work. Instead of one meeting where Kara had to preside over the discussion between various Heads of Departments at CatCo, every day turned into basically Kara having to do all of Cat's job, while Cat just observed if Kara could handle it. So far, Kara was doing even better than Cat had hoped for.
Kara and Cat sat in Cat's office after one of those meetings.
"You are doing great, Kara, I never could've asked for a better student," said Cat. Kara lifted an eyebrow.
"Miss Grant, while I am grateful that you trust me to handle all your business matters at CatCo, I still don't know why you place so much trust in me, or more importantly, even why, since you are doing such a great job of being CatCo's CEO yourself," said Kara.
"Oh Kara, for someone so brilliant, especially in science, I am surprised you still haven't realized the purpose of all those times I had you do all my work. Do I trust you? Absolutely. Could I've done all that work myself? Of course," said Cat.
"Then why have you asked me to do it for you?" Kara asked.
"Kara, I checked the poll numbers, and I am currently leading with seventy -five percent among ten candidates in the primary. I think there is a decent chance I will receive a nomination this summer, and if I win in November, I won't be able to be CatCo's CEO. And I know that you are more than capable to work for me as an assistant, so I wanted to challenge you, by giving you more and more work, and see if you could take my place in CatCo, especially if I win in November," said Cat.
"You want me to be next CatCo CEO?" Kara opened her mouth widely in surprise.
Yes, she completely missed all the hints Cat had given her over the last few weeks, but looking back at all the instances when Cat asked Kara to do all the work that Cat would normally had to do, Kara realized that Cat had been preparing for Kara to become the new CEO in the event Cat were to step down.
"Yes, you are the only person whom I think could do at least as good job if not better at running CatCo than I am," smiled Cat.
Kara smiled, stood up, walked towards Cat, and hugged her. "Thank you," said Kara.
Kara then returned to the other sofa, and looked at her boss.
A text appeared on Kara's phone. "Kara. It's Sam. Some woman who looked like you took Lena," read the text.
Kara then looked back at Cat. "I've got to go. Bizarro took Lena," said Kara. She quickly changed into her Supergirl costume in Cat's office, glad that Cat replaced the windows so that people couldn't see what Cat was doing inside the office, so that Kara had privacy to change into her costume.
"Go Kara, save Lena," said Cat, looking at Kara, who exited the balcony, and flew away, searching for Lena.
Meanwhile, Lena awoke with her hands tied with metal chains to some metal pole. She tried to move, but could only move her legs. The chains held Lena's hands firmly in one place.
"Why did you take me?" Lena asked.
Bizarro appeared, looking at Lena. "Supergirl loves you," said Bizarro.
"I, what?" Lena asked.
"Supergirl and I are same. She cares about you," said Bizarro, then looking away.
"You are and Supergirl are same, right?" Lena asked.
"Yes," Bizarro said.
"And Supergirl cares about me," said Lena.
"Yes," said Bizarro.
"Therefore, you also care about me. And if you do, please release me from these chains," said Lena.
Bizarro screamed. "No! Supergirl must pay! Supergirl hurt me," said Bizarro.
"Supergirl will find me, and she will stop you," said Lena. "But you can show her that you are a good person, that you are just confused, and Supergirl will help you."
"No! Supergirl hurt me, and since she loves you, I can hurt her by hurting you," said Bizarro, as she flew towards Lena, destroyed the chains, and with one hand held Lena's hands, while she put her other hand around Lena's neck.
"You will regret this," said Lena.
"No. Supergirl hurt me, and I can hurt her back by hurting you," said Bizarro, slowly beginning to push her fingers towards one another, but only slowly, so that Lena could feel pain for a long period of time.
Lena began coughing, trying to get air into her lungs.
"Let her go," said Kara, landing in the warehouse and glaring at Bizarro Supergirl.
"No, Supergirl hurt me, and I will hurt her to hurt Supergirl," said Bizarro, continuing to pull her fingers to one another, hurting Lena's neck.
Lena saw Kara and then closed her eyes, and opening her mouth. She stopped breathing.
"Ha! The woman Supergirl loves is now no more," said Bizarro, throwing Lena on the ground.
Kara flew towards Bizarro, and punched her in the face. Then another punch. And another.
"Kara! I am okay, cough," said Lena. While she still felt hurt, Lena was fine, she just acted in a certain way, hoping that Bizarro wasn't bright enough to realize what Lena was actually doing.
"No! I hurt the woman Supergirl cares for!" Bizarro screamed, flying towards Lena, trying to grab her, but Kara caught Bizarro Supergirl's foot, and threw her on the opposite side of the room.
Before Bizarro could do more damage, Alex arrived in the warehouse, grabbed Bizarro, and put the Kryptonite dart in Bizarro Supergirl's hand. Bizarro screamed and fell on the ground.
"I examined the molecular structure of Kryptonite, and managed to create a reverse molecular structure that would affect Bizarro. It was a risk, but now we finally defeated her," said Alex, placing Kryptonite handcuffs on Bizarro Supergirl.
Kara flew Lena to the DEO, while Alex carried Bizarro Supergirl. Once they arrived, they saw Maggie with the DEO agents waiting for them.
"Lena, as a former Medical Student, I think you need to spend a day in the DEO hospital room. I will check up on you, and you can go tomorrow morning, assuming I will find you in good enough health to leave," said Alex. Lena nodded; Susan and Demos helped Lena get to the bed in the hospital wing of the DEO.
"Alex, I need to talk to Bizarro Supergirl," said Maggie.
"Sure. You can talk to her in an interrogation room, but Kara and I will be standing outside, just in case we need to help you," said Alex.
"Perfect," said Maggie, walking with Bizarro Supergirl, who now felt depressed and sad. Maggie then talked to Bizarro Supergirl for an hour, explaining what happened to Bizarro Supergirl, and that Supergirl actually wanted to help Bizarro.
Once Maggie was done, she approached Alex. The two hugged, kissed, and Maggie left.
"I wonder what was that all about?" Kara asked, curious as to why Maggie even talked to Bizarro.
"I might have an idea," said Alex. "But I think you should visit Maggie as a reporter from CatCo, since I am pretty sure that Max will pay for what he did to these girls."
Kara smirked, now understanding what Alex implied. She called Cat, asking if she could become a temporary reporter at CatCo. "Kara, no. I don't want you to find a story as a temporary reporter, you will just waste your talents. Get here, I need you to sign some papers, and then you can get your story," said Cat in the phone.
Kara arrived at CatCo, and sat Cat sitting at her desk, with a large document laying in the middle of the desk. "Please sign this document. It's just a formality," said Cat.
"What is it?" Kara asked.
"Oh, don't worry about it. Do you trust me?" Cat asked. Kara nodded. "Then just please sign it here, here, and here,"
Kara signed. "What else do I need to do?" Kara asked.
"Just change into something fancy but not too fancy, and go chase your story. Before you go, feel free to show this card to whoever asks you whether you work at CatCo," said Cat. Kara nodded, grabbed the card, and then remembered that Alex asked Kara to help Maggie expose Maxwell Lord.
Kara changed into her regular clothing, and arrived at the police station, where she saw Maggie waiting for her. "Hey Little Danvers," said Maggie.
"I am here to help you as a reporter from CatCo. Reporter, wait," Kara looked at the card, only now realizing what Cat had given her. "Vice, Vice President of CatCo?"
"Little Danvers is now a Vice President of CatCo? Congratulations Kara. Now, let's put Maxwell Lord where he belongs,"
Maggie drove her car to Max Lord's office building. Once they arrived, Maggie walked to Max's office, with Kara following her. Once there, Maggie and Kara saw Max sitting at their desk.
"Hey Kara, I hope you had a good day," smiled Max, looking at Kara. Kara was about to jump at Max for indirectly causing harm to Lena.
"Wait Kara, let me do this. Maxwell Lord, you are under arrest," said Maggie, reading Miranda Rights to Maxwell Lord.
"On what charges? You have no evidence," said Maxwell. Maggie smirked, walking Maxwell towards her police car, while Kara turned on the camera, and began her report of what had just happened.
"Kara Danvers, Vice President of CatCo. Maxwell Lord had kidnapped seven girls, in the process of creating Bizarro, from the body of the seventh girl coupled with Supergirl's DNA. Now, Detective Maggie Sawyer just took him into custody," said Kara.
Once she recorded this using her phone, she sent the video report to Cat, who promptly interrupted all her programs at CatCo, putting emergency news on all CatCo programs, so that people who watched CatCo news would learn of this.
While Maggie drove with Max sitting in the back seat of her car, Kara was left standing outside of Max's company. She sighed, now she could rest. Kara rose in the air, and flew to DEO, so that she could comfort Lena.
When Kara arrived, she saw that Lena was in the cafeteria, having just finished her kale salad, now watching the news report that Cat circulated on CatCo's news channel.
"Hi Kara," said Lena, noticing that Kara has arrived.
"Lena, I was so worried," said Kara, flying towards Lena, and hugging her friend. Kara then sat on another chair next to where Lena was sitting.
"Yeah, I was worried too, at least for a bit, but my Kryptonian Knight in her Superhero costume came to my rescue," said Lena, a smile forming on her face. Kara also smiled.
"I am happy that Bizarro and Max are defeated," said Kara.
For a few minutes, neither of them spoke, they just looked at one another lovingly. "Kara, Bizarro Supergirl compared herself to you, and then mentioned that you love me," said Lena.
Kara's face turned red. "I, I care a lot about you Lena. Yes, I do love you," said Kara.
"I love you too," said Lena.
"Come, you need to rest," said Kara. She stood up, put Lena's legs under one of her arms, and then put her other arm behind Lena's back. Kara then carried Lena bridal style to the hospital bed, where Lena would sleep during the night.
Once Lena lay in the bed, Kara once more looked at Lena lovingly. Kara sat at the edge of the bed, and the two women continued to look into the other's eyes. Their faces moved closer and closer to one another.
Kara and Lena moved a bit, their faces were now mere inches apart. Kara smiled, Lena nodded, and they brought their lips together.
Kara then moved a bit away from Lena. "I am so happy I finally kissed you," said Kara.
"Me too. I care about you Kara," said Lena.
Kara then put her work jacket away, and then lay on bed, leaning closer to Lena. This time, when they kissed, they opened their mouth, and their tongues touched one another. While they were kissing, Kara lost balance, and fell on top of Lena. They laughed. Kara then fully climbed into the bed, and the pair continued kissing, while holding each other's face with their hands.
A/N: and so here we are, finally, after 22 chapters, SuperCorp is now in a relationship!
Maggie finally found a situation where she, but not Alex, had jurisdiction.
Regarding the level of intellect, the DC Universe uses this scale to show how smart a person is. I read somewhere that Kara's family has about 8th level of intellect, and Lex Luthor has somewhere between 7th and 9th level of intellect. Brainy told he has 12th in Supergirl Season 3. I don't know how exactly accurate I described this level of intellect system. But more genius Kara!
