Legend's POV
I stood with my traveling companions (including the false Wild) on a cliff overlooking the Korok Forest.
Flo—Zelda was convinced that the Master Sword was at the heart of the forest.
According to Wild, she was right. But we didn't say anything.
I studied the Champions. They were almost exactly like Wild had said they were.
Although Revali was a lot nicer to Wild 100 years in the future apparently.
I prayed to Hylia that Wild would never learn about this quest. It would break his heart.
I don't want to see the champion cry!
Revali stepped out of the line we had formed behind the Princess. The robot was with Link as always.
"Hyrule's king chose us to preform this pivotal task." Revali remarked.
I raised an eyebrow. Where is he going with this?
Revali touched his wing to his chest with an air of importance. "It will be my honor to excel, as always."
I scoffed. He ignored me.
Revali curled his wing into a fist. Before pointing at Link. "Then there's you, the one part that doesn't add up. Why should this nobody be trusted to lead us in the coming battle?"
I heard a deep, animalistic growl. I doubted it was from me.
I looked to my right and saw the Rancher shooting Revali with a glare that would scare most men out of their wits.
Revali wasn't looking at him though.
The other heroes all looked angry at Ravioli for calling our brother-in-arms a nobody.
Even Sky was glaring at him! Sky!
Daruk and Mipha feigned thought. Although I knew they were thinking a similar thought.
Why was Link here?
I do desperately wanted to shout the answer to Revali. To see the look on his face.
But I didn't. I didn't know what would happen if I did.
So, I let my anger bubble just under the surface. Hopefully I can let it out in a battle.
"It doesn't matter who's the leader. We're all in this together, right?" Daruk spoke up.
"You are, of course, mistaken. My Divine Beast is the key!" Ravioli said in a imperial tone of voice.
No! Link is the key! I thought angrily.
I saw some of my fellow heroes, ball their hands into fists.
Twilight hadn't let up his glare.
"Really, now… it makes no sense." Revali walked forward so that he was level with the Princess. "Well… My one comfort is that your reputation… will be completely ruined once you fail. The fallen knight. Heh heh!"
I took comfort in that fact that Wild isn't here to take that personally. If he had heard those words, the Champion would already be in Korok Forest.
It's his safe place.
"Revali, how long do you expect us to put up with your prattle, huh?" Urbosa said simply. As if she were but a mother scolding a troublesome child.
My respect grew for the Gerudo Chief.
Twilight finally stopped glaring at Revali, although the way his hand was twitching, I suspected that he was still angry.
"I've said enough." Ravioli said. "The time has come to show you what I'm made of. Now witness… Vah Medoh's divine power!"
The Rito Champion gestured to the divine beast flying aimlessly above.
Revali used his peer, Revali's Gale to give him a head start up to the machine.
"It's cooler when Wild does it." I whispered a spiteful retort as Revali started attacking the monsters surrounding the forest.
Time elbowed me.
We didn't want the others to know that Wild has their abilities. It would raise too many questions.
Obviously.
But am I wrong?
