On the rooftops, the ten turtles are parkouring across the rooftops whooping and cheering in excitement. April and Robyn however were lagging behind them, looking exhausted as they tried to keep up with them. "I never… understood how turtles could be… could be so… so fast!" April panted while taking a breather.
"You've known… them longer than me… sis. I thought you'd know that these guys…aren't normal turtles." Robyn panted as she took a breather as well. "Phew. They definitely got more stamina."
"Come on girls! This is just the warm-up!" Mikey called as the other turtles came to the two O'Neils.
"The warm-up?" Robyn asked in surprise.
"For two hours?" April questioned in disbelief.
"That's what ninjas do!" Leo said with an excited smile. "Training sometimes lasts four, five hours at a time. Awesome, right?" He asked as he gave a laugh. "Yeah!"
"Are you kidding me?! I'm gonna puke!" April retorted, "What about a real mission?" She asked.
"Oh no. Way too soon, April." Olly said firmly.
"Why?" April questioned with a frown.
"Well, for one thing, it took 15 years of training before Master Splinter let us go on a 'real mission'." Raph pointed out.
"It took just as long for our father to at least let us train outside the Tribe borders," Vee added.
"Not to mention, you have yet to fully master the ninja stealth and skills." Naomi added with her arms crossed. "Even more so after you've dismissed yourself from training after your father's mutation."
"Ugh, don't rub it in," April said while rubbing her arm.
Donnie came up to her, "Ah don't worry, it's all in the past, and training won't take that long," He told her, "A decade and half will fly by like that," He said while snapping his fingers.
"For a turtle," April retorted as a photo was taken.
"Uh, not even close, April." Robyn said with a brow. "If they were our age when they first started training fifteen years ago, it's pretty similar, and besides, I need way more training than you sister." She stated while another photo was taken.
"Maybe we should take them on more missions, guys." Ames said in thought. "It makes sense."
"Yeah! The best training they could have is hanging with the ninjas!" Mikey cheered in agreement as another photo was taken.
"Uh-uh. No way. It's too dangerous." Leo said firmly.
"Especially since both the Shredder and the Kraang are after April," Jenny reminded.
"Exactly," Raph agreed before gesturing to April, "What if something happens to her,"
"Are you forgetting that time I decked Karai?" April asked them while turning away, "The Kraang and Shredder don't scare me," She said.
"Try telling that to Shred-Head," Mikey commented.
Tal just waved her off, "Please, she could never stand a chance against a single Kraang Droid, not with those skinny legs," She snarked.
April gasped in insult before looking at her legs, "Skinny?! These are soccer kickers and I'll be more than happy to show you that they're not that skinny!" She stated as she walked towards her.
"Ooh I'm so scared, red-head." Tal mocked as the two girls leered at each other before Robyn pushed them back.
"Okay, you two, break it up!" Robyn said firmly as she gave them a look. "We're supposed to train, not kill each other."
"Well, she started it!" April said while pointing at Tal, who rolled her eyes before April clutched her head when she felt something. "My head!"
"You okay?" Olly asked as the others looked at her as April opened her eyes.
"Guys, I think there's someone watching us." April whispered. "Right over there!" She pointed behind them as they saw a shadowy figure.
"Get'em!" The turtles shouted as the figure ran away, revealing themself to be a man dressed in brown and wearing a fedora.
"Grappling hooks!" Leo called as the turtles aimed their hooks and fired at a billboard before ziplining to the other side.
"Aw yeah!" Mikey cheered as they made it across.
Next were April and Robyn, they both pulled the trigger but only Robyn got her line out, "Oh, stupid grappling hook," April complained.
Robyn turned to her sister, "April come on. These hooks Tal gave me aren't that hard to use," She said before ziplining to the others.
April realized what her sister said, "Wait, Tal?" She asked before looking across to see Tal waving at her while smiling innocently. April growled, "Why that little…" She clenched her grappling hook that Tal deliberately sabotaged. "Maybe I should just take the stairs." She muttered.
Donnie then fired his grappling line near April, "April use my rope!" He told her.
Tal scoffed, "Donnie come on! She's already slowing us down." She told him.
April scowled before she ziplined down as Donnie held out his arms. She was planning on jumping over them but then she had an idea and smirked before letting Donnie catch her, "Gotcha!" Donnie said as helped April down while Tal looked at them in shock.
"Thank you so much Donnie. I can always rely on you," April said as Donnie chuckled and blushed while April gave Tal a sly smirk as Tal growled at her from that.
"Oh, it's on now!" Tal promised.
"This way! Let's move, people!" Leo called, snapping the three out of it as they rushed to a corner and saw the man enter an apartment as the turtles jumped to it while Robyn and April climbed the fire escape.
"It's quiet. Too quiet." Olly muttered as he snuck to the window and used a dagger to open it slightly as they entered a small apartment and turned on their flashlights. They looked around before Ames stumbled upon a wall covered in photographs, old pictures, and drawings, connected by pins and strings.
Donnie walked up to the board and realized what the pictures were. "It's… us." He muttered as they saw a picture of themselves.
"Not just us." Jenny said while seeing more pictures. "Photos of mutants and Kraang. Lots and lots of Kraang. There's even some with your fights with them."
"Even the Foot Clan are in here," Leo said as he saw pictures of Shredder, Karai, Rahzar when he was still Dogpound, Fishface, and the Foobots.
April was looking at a photo of herself when she was in school. "So… what's with all the creeptastic pictures?" She asked as in a doorway, the man was hiding while spying on them, which Raph seemed to notice.
"Well, I guess we've seen enough here, guys." Raph acted. "Let's get out of here." He said as they all stood still, but when the man turned to the doorway, Raph quickly grabbed him and planted him on the door with his sai to his neck.
"Don't hurt me! I'm a friend!" The man quickly said.
"Stalker's more like it." Raph retorted Bbfor Naomi placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Raphael wait. Let him speak," She told him as Raph reluctantly let the man down as he looked at them in amazement.
"After all these months, finally face to face with the talking Ninja turtles," The man said wonder before turning to April, "And April O'Neil herself,"
The man walked over to April but Robyn stood in his way, "Hands off my sister, pal," She warned, "Start talking, who are you and what's with the photos?"
"The name's Kurtzman. I was a journalist on the case of the missing scientists last year." Kurtzman explained as his face then grew serious. "And then I discovered something much bigger."
He then turned on the lights, cleared his table as he brought out his journal. "The Kraang." He said grimly as he opened up his journal to show historical records of the Kraang. "The alien infiltration has long-lived. Ancient, in fact. The Kraang has been trying to use mutagen to terraform the earth for thousands of years." He started as the others looked down at the journal in wonder seeing how the Kraang evolved into who they were today. "But they couldn't use the mutagen in our universe without a specific chain of human DNA. They've spent millennia capturing people, shaping humankind's genetic code. Until finally." He then brought out a picture of April when she was a baby.
"That's me!" April said in shock.
"Your mother was taken by the Kraang before you and your sister's were born," Kurtzman explained as he showed a photo of April and Robyn's father, Kirby, with a red afro, holding a blonde woman in a red dress with a little girl in a purple dress sitting next to her and a little baby in a yellow onesie and red hair in her arms, "And then she was…experimented on," He said seriously.
"Our Mom?" Robyn asked in shock.
"And for reasons I can't understand, it seems only one of you yielded the results the Kraang were looking for," Kurtzman explained, looking at April, "That why you're so special April, you're DNA can perfect the mutagen in this dimension."
"Whoa! That explains why the Kraang wanted her this whole time." Olly said while April feels overwhelmed by what she learned.
"I think I need to sit down." April said as Robyn helped keep her steady, "Robyn, do you remember how we would always ask dad about what happened to mom?" She asked her.
"Yeah, he'd never tell us what happened, why?" Robyn asked.
"If, if the Kraang have been after me since the day I was born, and they experimented on mom," April said looking very worried, "Maybe, maybe they're the reason…" She trailed off as she couldn't dare to finish.
Robyn however understood as her eyes widened in horror, "No," She breathed out.
But before they could think any further, Kurtzman's door burst open as some Kraang came in, one of them had its face damaged, "The Kraang!" Ames exclaimed.
"They found me! I don't know how, but they found me!" Kurtzman said in horror.
"Kraang, the human known as Kurtzman has allied himself with the ones called the Turtles, who are turtles." One Kraang said.
"Observe Kraang," the other Kraang replied, "Disintegrate first, interrogate later," He said before they started blasting their blasters, which they all dodged as the turtles quickly started fighting the Kraang while dodging the blasters.
Robyn and April are laying low before a Kraang droid came in front of them, but then Donnie whacked it away and reached his hand out to April. "I'll protect you and your sister, April." He said.
"Why don't you protect yourself!" April retorted as she brought out her fan as Robyn shook her head at this.
"Stubborn as mule," Robyn commentedbefore she ducked from the laser fire and noticed a Kraang blaster on the floor that a Kraang dropped. "This might be handy." She said as she picked up the blaster and started firing on the Kraang. "Sweet!" She cheered.
Olly and Leo are slicing away the Kraang droids while blocking the lasers. April used her fan to block as well, but it made her fan go up in smoke as she tossed it away as the droid advanced toward her, but then Tal sliced it in half. "Oh sorry, April. Takes more than a little fan to stop alien lasers," she said with a smirk.
"Oh yeah, and like arrows are any more effective," April shot back.
"They are." Tal said with a smirk as she shot a Kraang droid with one of her arrows without looking. "Archery is more effective if there's a long-range target." She added as April growled at her.
Kurtzman looked and saw more Kraang droids coming into his apartment. "There's too many droids and not enough room to fight!" Olly exclaimed.
"Retreat!" Jenny exclaimed as the turtles and O'Neils jumped out of the fire escape as Kurtzman looked at his journal.
"I can't leave without my notebook!" Kurtzman called as he was about to grab his book, but he was pushed back when the Kraang kept firing on him. "No! It's my, my…" He cried before he tripped over the fire escape and started falling before Mikey's nunchucks grabbed him.
"Gotcha!" Mikey exclaimed as he lowered Kurtzman down and the Turtles landed on their feet while Robyn and April climbed down the fire escape while April did a pose.
"You're really trying to not look embarrassing, huh sis?" Robyn asked with a brow.
"Hey, at least I'm trying!" April retorted.
"This way! Move!" Leo ordered before a van parked in front of them as a spider bot with a cannon aimed at them as the Kraang piloting it started blasting at them.
"Scatter!" Olly called as they all dodged the lasers before they ran off with the Kraang following as it hit the streets. The Kraang looked around for them before the Shellraiser drove by as it squeaked in fear before it started firing at the Shellraiser as Leo stopped it.
"Everyone brace yourselves!" Leo called as he pulled on the lever and drove in reverse, squishing the cannon before driving off as the Kraang looked at its cannon and noticed his spider drone was offline as it started whining.
The Shellraiser drove down the street as Kurtzman spoke. "Here's the plan. You infiltrate TCRI. Then, wipe out all the data the Kraang have on April's DNA." He instructed.
"TCRI?" Jenny asked with a brow, "I think you might've missed it but that place is toasts," She said in confusion.
Then parking in an alley, the group looked ahead and saw the TCRI building, but the only difference was, the building was completely restored. "No way, they rebuilt it?" Raph asked in disbelief.
"We were there just a few days ago," Ames said, remembering when they went to TCRI when she had zits, "How could those squid brains work so fast?"
"I'll say this, the Kraang are quick engineers." Tal commented in surprise.
"Well, either way, we break in, erase April's DNA codes, and get out." Leo whispered. "Infiltration only."
"Let's do this." April said determinedly.
"Great. You, Kurtzman, and Robyn stay outside on lookout." Leo instructed.
"Stay outside? On lookout?" April questioned while giving Leo a look.
"No problem. Take this." Kurtzman said as he gave Leo an ID card. "It's a key card I stole from their van. It'll get you into TCRI." He explained.
"Thanks, Mr. Kurtzman." Leo said with a salute before he and the other turtles jumped away.
"Good luck." Robyn said before April turned to her and Kurtzman with a look. "What?" She asked with a shrug.
The Turtles climbed to the rooftop just right next to TCRI as Olly fired a grabbling hook line at it. But then they heard grunting sounds as they turned and saw Robyn and April climbing onto the rooftop as they looked exhausted as they walked towards the turtles.
"Seriously?" Olly asked with a brow.
"Hey, she rushed off and I tried to stop her." Robyn said in defense. "She's just as stubborn as mom." She added as April turned to her with a look.
"Alright, April, Robyn. Sty here and maintain radio communication." Leo informed.
"Oh, but I want in on the action, too." April said as the turtles slide down one by one.
"Don't worry. We'll be back in two shakes of a Kraang tentacle." Donnie said with a smile before ziplining away.
Tal came up to April with a smirk, "Have fun being damsel on lookout, O'Neil. Leave this to the real heroes," She said before ziplining away.
April grumbled in frustration while clenching her fists as Robyn raised a brow at her, "What's between you and Tal, anyway?" She asked.
"Nothing! There's nothing!" April quickly retorted as Robyn gave her a brow. "Oh, don't give me that look. And also, waiting outside like some stupid sidekick? I don't think so." She said while looking down at where the turtles are.
"April, they just wanted to keep you safe." Robyn pointed out. "This is Kraang HQ here. You've been their target since day one. Can't you see how stupid it would be if you stepped one foot in that building?" She questioned.
"Those aliens freaks experimented on our mother, created the stuff that mutated our father, they've ruined our family since the beginning," April said in venom and anguish, "All my life someone else always had to protect me, whether it was you, dad, Casey or even the Turtles. I'm sick of always been the damsel in distress, I need to prove that I can protect myself and the people I care about,"
"By risking giving the Kraang the very thing they need to complete their plans?" Robyn questioned firmly. "Ever since we were little, I've known how stubborn you can be when trying to prove something, and truthly, half of those times ended with me having to bail you out and you know it."
"You weren't there when the Kraang first kidnapped our father!" April yelled. "You may be my older sister, but you know nothing of what happened! I'm done hiding from those creeps, I'm going and you can't stop me!" She said before ziplining down.
Robyn gave an aggravated groan and ziplined after her.
The turtles then enter an cube office as they looked around before Mikey scouted ahead and saw a Kraang droid in front of them as he was about to scream, but Raph quickly covered his mouth and drew his sai at the droid, but saw that it was stiff as Donnie looked over and saw many droids with cables on the back of their heads. "It's okay. It's alright. I think these Androids are just…" He started as he move his bo staff to show the cable. "...charging."
"Looks like they're prepare to charge up their bodies if used for too long." Tal mentioned.
"Weird. I wonder if there's Kraang inside 'em." Raph wondered as Jenny moved the arms of the droid to see there is Kraang inside.
"Well, there's your answer." Jenny commented. "Even in recharge mode, they can't seem to leave these bodies."
Ames and Mikey walked up to the droid and touched the mask faces as they chuckled. "Guys! Their faces are so rubbery!" Ames commented.
"Yeah, check it out." Mikey said as he then started playing he droid's lips while making sounds before moving it. "Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Donnie stinks! Blah, blah blah!"
"Will you stop that!" Olly retorted. "You might wake them up sooner!"
"Yeah. We gotta move before they wake up." Leo reminded them before April came down in the middle of the Turtles before Robyn followed as the turtles gave startled yells.
"April?! Robyn?!" Jenny said in disbelief, "What are you two doing here?!"
"You were suppose to be on the lookout!" Tal reminded the O'Neils.
"I just want to be clear, I tried to stop her." Robyn said while giving her sister a look.
"I'm sick of sitting on the sidelines!" April retorted firmly.
"Fine! Just be quiet, stay close, and do not…" Olly said firmly before turning to Ames and Mikey. "Let Mikey or Ames touch anything." He instructed before they heard peeping and the droid's eye glowed pink.
"Wasn't us!" Both Ames and Mikey insisted, waving their hands.
"I think they're done charging!" Tal realizes.
"Let's get out of here!" Donnie exclaimed as they ran off, one by one, each droid powered up and stood up and the group hid in a corner.
"Kraang, does this human suit make Kraang look fat?" One of the droids asked as more appeared, forcing the group to turn to an elevator as they entered before it closed and Leo swiped the card on a scanner.
"The floor known as level 40 has been accessed to Kraang." The computer said as the elevator went up.
"Phew. Not bad so far." Leo said as elevator music started playing as they gave awkward looks while Mikey and Ames moved their heads to the music.
"This music is making my ears bleed." Raph said while covering his ears.
"I think I have this on my T-Phone," Vee commented.
"Seriously?" Jenny asked with a brow.
"What? It's a catchy tune." Vee said with a shrug as the elevator beeped and the door opened as Olly and Leo took a look out and gave handsignals as they stealthy went out while Robyn and April crawled on the floor.
In the room were many Kraangs on their pods with antennas sprouting out from their heads as they faced the projection of a big Kraang with three hexagon panels on its forehead, all of the others had their eyes closed. "What's going on, Donnie?" Raph asked.
"It's a Kraang Sweet 16 Birthday Party!" Donnie sarcastically said in a sweet tone before he frowned. "How am I suppose to know?" He retorted.
"Nevermind that, who is that?" Naomi asked, pointing to the projection.
"That's a really, really, really, really, really, really big Kraang," Ames said in slight intimidation.
April then clutched her head. "It's Kraang Prime, Leader of the Kraang. They're all meditating. Communicating." She said as she stood up and walked up closer to Kraang Prime. "I can hear their thoughts!"
"Whoa, dude. You're like tela-pathetic," Mikey commented.
Tal facepalmed, "It telepathic," she corrected.
"So, what are they saying, sis?" Robyn asked.
"The experiment is nearly complete!" Kraang Prime spoke. "Despite setbacks, the mutagen will be ready as planned."
"They're talking about invasion." April said as she walked closer.
"Soon, we will transform the earth and all of its hideous people." Kraang Prime said before April gasped in horror before quickly covering her mouth, like she just said something but it brought Kraang Prime's attention as he opened his eyes. "What?! Intruders?!" She questioned as the alarm went off and every Kraang in the room shrieked, waking up from their trance.
The turtles and Robyn turned to April, "What did you do?!" Vee exclaimed.
"I might've accidentally mentally asked what they were gonna transform the humans into?" April said sheepishly.
"April!" They all yelled in annoyance.
"Sorry!" April apologized.
"Guys, what are we thinking?" Mikey asked nervously.
"Simple and easy." Olly said calmly before he screamed. "Run!" He called as they rushed up to the door and started pressing the button.
"Some stealth mission." Tal retorted before glaring at April. "And this is why you should've stayed put, Blabber-Brain!" She said hotly.
"Hey! At least I know about their invasion!" April countered with a look.
"Well maybe next time, keep that brain of yours quiet!" Tal stated.
"Um, dudes! Dudettes! I think we have an even bigger problem!" Mikey called as they turned and saw a familiar droid lady. "It's that freaky chick with the exploding elbows!" He exclaimed.
"Say what now?!" Jenny called as the Campbell's droid lifted it's arm and it's elbow opened up and fire a missile at them, which caused them to scatter. "Okay, I see what you mean!" She exclaimed as they all ran off to avoid the missiles.
April ran off before her sister tackled her an from a missile closing in on her, "April!" She called as they avoid a missile. "See what I mean when you should've stayed back?!" She questioned with a look.
"At least I'm trying!" April said in defense before seeing something on the side. "Look out!" She called as she pushed her sister down as laser fire started firing before Leo and Olly cut down the Kraang Droids before Leo took the blaster and shot the ones in the pods down before seeing an exit.
"We gotta get to that door!" Naomi called, but then Campbell droid and the other Kraang Droids then blocked their exit. The Turtles charged in, but then April was then caught by her arm by a droid.
"It is the human known as April O'Neil." The Kraang Droid said as April started whacking it's head.
"I am not. Gonna. Ask for help!" April exclaimed as she kept hitting the droid, but then the droid grabbed her arm, which made her nervous. "Um, Guys! Help! Help! Guys!" She called as she was being dragged away while the others fought the droids.
"April!" Donnie called when he notice April being captured before Tal tackled him to the ground to avoid a missile.
"Okay, I've had enough with you Ms. Rocket-Arms!" Tal exclaimed as she took out her bow and loaded an around as closed her eyes as took aim.
"Tal, what are you doing?! Fire!" Donnie said in panic.
"Breath, visualize the target, pull back, focus and…" Tal said to herself as Ms. Campbell got ready to fire, "...Release!" She then fired the arrow right down the barrel of Ms. Campbell's cannon, causing her to explode with a scream and taking out the other droids. "Right through the bone." She joked.
Donnie looked at her in awe, "Tal, you're awesome!" He declared.
Tal gave a bright smile and blush, "Oh, really, i-it wasn't anything special," She said with a snorty laugh.
"Nice aim." Raph complimented. "I would've done that with my sai."
"Maybe next time." Jenny said while patting his shoulder as Robyn rushed past them.
"Let's get my sister!" She called as they rushed down the door and into a hallway before April came rushing towards them.
"Run!" April screamed as they ducked and saw a group of Kraang Droids firing in front of them as they turned. "In here!" She called while gesturing to a door, which hey entered before the hatch closed.
"So, why are we hiding in a dead end?" Jenny questioned April as Olly went up to the controls and pressed on it, but couldn't seem to open the door.
"Door's locked. We're trapped." Leo informed.
Suddenly April started laughing as the room started feeling up with a purple gas, "Um, what's that?" Ames asked nervously.
"Poison gas?" Donnie asked in worry as he turned to April. "April! Why are you doing this?" He asked as April looked at them with a weird and crazed look as she kept laughing while the others tried to bust the door down.
"We gotta get out of here!" Vee exclaimed as they turned to April.
"There's no escape, turtles." April said in a creepy tone.
"Sis! What's wrong with you?!" Robyn called as she walked up to her sister. "Are you…" She started before she coughed. "...being mind-controlled?" She asked before April slapped her in the face.
"Try again." April said before she sends multiple strong punches before giving a powerful kick that sends Robyn to the floor.
"What the heck, April!" Jenny coughed from the gas.
Olly coughed, "That's not April guys," he stated while covering his mouth.
"It's an android! Get her!" Raph called as he charged at 'April', but she catches his sais. "Hey!" He exclaimed before the fake April headbutted him and tossed him to the wall.
Tal then looked up while covering her mouth. "You know, I hate to do this, but… actually, no I've wanted to do this for a long time." She said as she got out her bow and slashed at 'April', but she caught her weapon and tossed her aside as she then saw the control panel next to her as she stood up before 'April' came to her before Tal grabbed her and smashed her head into the panel, giving an electric charge as she shrieked in pain before it exploded into black goo before the door opened up.
"Okay…" Ames said as they all exited the room and started coughing after the poison gas cleared out.
"What the Shell was that thing?!" Jenny coughed out.
"It was… some kind of replica," Donnie said through his coughs. "A fake April!"
"But she looked so real!" Mikey exclaimed with a cough. "Like tofu bacon!" He added.
"Come on! We gotta find the real April!" Leo exclaimed as they rushed down the hallway while Raph gave Mikey a look.
"And tofu bacon does not look real!" Raph pointed out as he rushed off.
"It's taste real, though!" Mikey added as he followed after the others before they stopped when a laserpointer targeted Mikey's toe before firing lasers, which he quickly dodged. "I bet whatever's behind that door is pretty important." He said.
Leo turned to Tal, "Talena, care to do the honors?" He asked, handing her the card.
Tal took the card and nodded as she quickly dodged the laser fire, slid on her shell while firing an arrow at the guns and unlocked the door, "Like a turtle do," She boasted as she walked and her eyes widened, "Oh no!" She gasped in horror.
"What? What is it?" Naomi asked in concern.
"It's my worst nightmare," Tal started before she gestured them into the room and they all gasped with eyes wide as they saw tanks filled with black liquids and multiple Aprils in white clothing floating in them. "Too many Aprils." She muttered in worry.
"By Darwin's beard!" Donnie exclaimed in shock. "April clones!"
"Weird." Mikey said in shock.
"They're perfect genetic duplicates of the original!" Tal added.
"Weird!" Ames added next.
"I bet the Kraang have been growing them to harvest her DNA." Donnie theorized as Ames and Mikey looked at one of the clones as it opened it's eyes, startling the two.
"Weird!" Both Mikey and Ames said in unison.
"WE GOT IT, OKAY?!" Both Donnie and Tal exclaimed in annoyance.
Naomi closed her eyes and held out her hand, "They may look like April, have her mass and form but they no true minds or souls, no life within them," She explained.
The City Turtles looked confused before Olly explained, "Naomi's training allows her to see the aura of any living thing," He said.
Mikey gasped and was about to open his mouth before Donnie covered it, "Say weird again, I won't hesitate to flip you," Donnie warned.
"Okay, I know the Kraang want April's DNA, but this is way too freaky." Robyn said, feeling a little creeped out by seeing clones of her sister.
"On the plus side, you got a lot more sisters now," Jenny said optimistically.
"Hey I have one sister, these things are just cheap fakes," Robyn retorted firmly.
Tal gave a firm look, "We gotta shut this place down, there should never be this many Aprils," She said as she went up to the Kraang computer, "Fortunately this terminal is connected to the Kraang's main computers, so we should be able to delete the data from here,"
"Leave it to me, I'm expert at cracking Kraang computers," Donnies said as he started typing on the computer.
"Say that five time fast," Ames joked before Jenny slapped the back of her head.
Raph then looked around, "So where's the real April?" He asked.
In another room, April, who was in white clothing like her clones, was strapped down in a table with Kraang Droids surrounding her and and a huge needle above her as she struggled to break free. "The DNA that belongs to the April clones is lacking Kraang. Kraang needs more real April DNA." One of the Kraang said as the needle lower itself to April, who looked worried.
"Uh, h-how about I just give you some hair or something? That has DNA!" April suggested fearfully.
"That is correct. But this is far more entertaining to Kraang." The Kraang said the Needle drew closer to April as she gulped.
In the lab, Donnie is still typing into the computer. "Hurry, Donnie! Faster!" Leo exclaimed.
"I'm hurrying as fast as I can." Donnie retorted before they heard April's scream.
"April!" Robyn called in worry before some Kraang Droids came into the room and raised their blasters at them.
"The Turtles and the one known as Robyn O'Neil survived. Open the bin known as the Reject Bin." One droid ordered as another pressed a button as a door on the floor opened up with steam spewed out of it. The group drew their weapons as coming out of the bin was…an April head?
The group were confused before the head rose up, revealing to have a long neck, which made them scream in horror as a large disportionate and warbed looking April came out with April's real head attached to mangled blob of flesh coming out from where the clone's right eye should be as it gave a roar.
"Uh, oh." Mikey muttered.
"What the heck is that?" Olly asked in repulsion as the clone then stomped over them.
"Derp, derp, derp!" The clone exclaimed while also swatting the Kraang Droids away.
"Some kind of a reject clone." Donnie theorized. "A genetic mishap. An…"
"April Derp!" Ames finished as they avoided April Derp's attack. "Derp. derp, derp! Get it?" She asked in amusement.
"Whatever it is, we need to take it down!" Vee said as she jumped and slashed at April Derp, as Leo jumped off it's head and Donnie whacked its skinnier leg, knocking it off balance and Ames jumped on its back.
Robyn looked to where the Kraang droids came through, "You guys handle my cousin twice-removed, I'm going after my sister!" She said.
"Not without backup you're not," Tal said, rushing to her side.
"Oh, man! I wanted to do that!" Donnie called as Tal carried Robyn up and they climbed to the second floor and into the door while the others were still fighting April Derp.
With April, she was still struggling as the needle drew closer to her, but then it short-circuited as she looked up and saw Robyn and Tal ontop of it. "April!" Robyn called from above.
"Great! Saved by my sister and Tal." April said in annoyance. "I'm never gonna live this down." She grumbled.
"Hey, you're the one who got captured without calling for help." Tal pointed out. "So, I might hold this over your head for a year or 2."
"Lucky me," April rolled her eyes.
"Do you two ever stop fighting? We have Kraang to deal with." Robyn said in annoyance. "Seriously, what's between you two?"
"We'll tell you later." Tal said as she drew her weapon and jumped down and attacked the Kraang Droids as Robyn used the stolen blaster to start firing at them, but they were quickly overhwhelmed and was held down. "Let us go!"
"Girls!" April called as she struggled some more.
Back with the others fighting April Derp, the reject clone seemed tougher than they first thought, as she slammed her hands down on the others, Ames's then grabbed the reject clone's swollen leg, but it pulled back, which caused her to slam into the backside of the clone as she lend onto the mouth on it's back as it's long tongue licked her as she drop to the floor in disgust.
"Hey! No one licks my sister!" Jenny said before April Derp grabbed her by the head and held her up as it whacked Leo and Vee back with her.
"Donnie, you wipe those computers yet?" Leo asked.
"Because we can barely hold this reject off," Vee added.
"Still working on it." Donnie answered as he kept typing with a determined expression.
"Work faster!" Raph called mufflely as he was being held by April Derp's giant hand. "She's crushing my head!" He called.
"I'll help you, Bro!" Mikey called as he jumped while swinging his chucks, "Booyaka-" He was cut off as April Derp knocked him up, using Raph as a rag doll before he was tossed away.
"Derp, derp!" April Derp said before catching Mikey and gave him a crushing hug, "April give hugs!" It said before butting Naomi away.
Donnie then finished typing as it gave a beep. "Yes! I did it! I wiped the computers cleaned!" He cheered before he was whacked by April Derp as he hit the wall.
"Try and stay focus, Donnie!" Olly called as he tried an axe kick, but April Derp then caught his leg with her long tounge, "Yuck!" He exclaimed before being whacked side to side.
Tal and Robyn were pinned down by the Kraang droids, struggling to break free, "April!" Robyn cried out.
April saw the needle was getting closer and closer. "Do not struggle. The one called April O'Neil will soon expire." The Kraang said to them.
"No!" April yelled as she clenched her eyes, "NNNOOO!" She screamed, releasing psychic waves of energy, causing the needle to short circuit Kraang to shriek in pain as their robots deactivated.
Tal and Robyn looked awe struck, "Holy Chalupa," Tal breathed out.
At the other room, April Derp shrieked in pain as she felt the shockwave before she exploded into black goo. "Yes! Goodbye, April Derp!" Mikey cheered before some goo landed on him.
"What was that?" Olly asked in surprise by the shockwave they felt earlier.
"I believe that was April's doing." Naomi noted.
Back in the needle room, Tal and Robyn freed April and got out of the bed before the needle poked her as they helped her stand. "You okay?" Tal asked in concern and surprise.
"Brain… on fire. Ready to pop." April said tiredly while shaking her head. "Other than that… Meh." She said weakly.
The other turtles then arrives, "Girls," Donnie said in relief as they jumped down and he hugged April, "I'm so glad you're alive," He said as Tal sighed and crossed her arms while looking away, annoyed, before Donnie pulled her into a hug too, "Both of you," He added.
Tal gave a surprised blush before smiling and hugging back, Robyn looked at them in confusion before her eyes widened in realization, "Ohh, so that's what's going on," She said to herself.
But before anyone could speak, the alarm went off again. "Uh-oh! Time to haul shell!" Mikey called as they all rushed out of the room and back into the cloning room, but shocked to see that the April clones were out of the tanks.
"Where are you going?
"Trying to ditch me?"
Let's get outta here!"
"We gotta hurry!"
"Come on!"
"Okay, these clones are a lot more stable then the last two." Vee commented while feeling weirded out as they landed on the bottom floor.
"It's me, April! Where are you going?"
"We gotta go! Come on!"
April then pushed her clone back. "Don't listen to them! I'm the real April!" She said to the others before she was pushed into her clones.
"April!" Robyn called out to her sister.
"Um, which one were you talking too?" Olly asked in concern.
"No, I'm the real April!"
"I am!"
"It's me! It's me!"
"I am!"
"Whoa! Which one is which?" Ames wondered in confusion.
"Aw, man! They all look the same!" Mikey called as they were backed into a corner.
Robyn then smirked, "Hold on, they may have April's looks but not her brains," She said before calling out to crowd, "Sis, wanna go for the O'Neil runaround?!"
The real April smirked, "You read my mind," She said as she reached behind her and pulled out her tessen above the clones heads.
"There you are!" Robyn said as she fought her way through the clone and grabbed her real sister's hand and spun her around as April slashed some of the clones' heads off before they stood back to back.
"Yup, Those two are definitely O'Neils," Donnie commented with a smirk as the Turtles drew their weapons and took out the April Clones as they all exploded into black goo.
"Okay, that was just gross, dudes. There's clone goop all over my claws." Jenny complained as she shook her claws to get the goo off.
"Let's move!" Leo called as they rushed out of the room.
They burst through a glass wall and ran into the streets, "Hurry!" Mikey called with Kraang droids chased after them.
A Kraang van rolled up to them. They grabbed their weapons, preparing for a fight before the door opened down, showing Kurtzman, "Get in!" He said as the turtles piled into the van. Kurtzman then drove off at highspeed while the Kraang kept firing at them. "Escaping from the Kraang in their own van!" He called as he gave a joke. He kept driving down the road as fast as he could.
"Thank you for saving us, Mr. Kurtzman." Naomi said with a smile.
"I owed you one." Kurtzman said with a smile. "So, did you wipe out the Kraang computers?"
"We did. By the skin of our noses." Donnie stated.
"The only reason we survived was because of April," Robyn said as she smiled at her sister, "Whatever you did back there sis, you saved us all. Guess I was wrong, you can look out for yourself,"
April gave a smile back but still looked confused, "But, I had no idea what I did, I was freaking out and then, Zap! The Kraang were toast," She said in amazement.
"From what we saw, it appeared to be some sort of supersonic psychic wave that directly targeted the Kraang's minds," Tal said while rubbing her chin, "We should probably dig a little deeper into this,"
They eventually came to an alley as the turtles and O'Neils filed out, "You walk from here," Krutzman said, "Well, I'll be off. Someone's gotta keep an eye on the Kraang, they're everywhere. If you ever need my expertise, you know where to find me," He said, handing Olly his card.
Olly nodded, "We'll be in touch, stay safe," He told Kurtzman as the man tipped his hand and drove back before heading away.
Back in the lab, Donnie took a sample of April's DNA and put it in a slide as he used his microscope to take a look at the cells. Only to find something that made his eyes shrink in disbelief, "Donnie, what's wrong? Do you see something?" Tal asked, seeing Donnie's face.
"This… doesn't seem possible." Donnie said in shock.
"What is it?" April asked. "What's wrong?"
"Base on all the info I've culled from the clone lab, your cellular makeup is actually a morphogenesis blend of human and Kraang DNA." Donnie explained.
"Wait. Are you saying…" Robyn spoke up while getting what Donnie was trying to say.
"You and April aren't entirely human, Robyn. But with April it's more active, that's why she has psychic powers." Donnie answered. "In fact, you're both half human, half Kraang… mutants." He finished, which shocked the others.
"Mutants?!" They all exclaimed in shock while Ames and Mikey were smiling.
"Aw, yeah! Welcome to the family!" Mikey cheered.
"That makes you two our cousins! Maybe." Ames said while trying to think while both Robyn and April looked at each other shock at what they just learned.
Then Tal rubbed her chin, "But that doesn't explain why the Kraang need only April's DNA and not Robyn's, since they're both the same," She trailed off as an idea came to her as she looked at Robyn, "Unless…"
"Uh, you wanna share it with the rest of the class, Tal?" Raph asked with a brow.
"Guys what if the Kraang don't need Robyn's DNA because it might do the opposite of what they want," Tal explained making them confused.
"We're still not following sis," Vee said.
Donnie however realized it, "Of course, it's April's DNA is the key to making mutagen react the way it was intended to, then Robyn's DNA could be our key to reversing it," He said.
April's eyes widened when she realized what Donnie meant, "So, are you saying?" She asked hopefully.
"That's right April, the missing piece we need to complete the Retro Mutagen," Tal started before pointing at Robyn, "Is her."
Robyn looked in shock by this as she looked at her hands before speaking up. "So, if my sister can perfect the mutagen, then I'm the exact opposite for a cure?" She asked in surprise.
"And finally cure Mr. O'Neil, yes." Donnie said with a nod. "I guess the Kraang doesn't want you because you are the very thing to stop their plans."
"Well, lucky me." Robyn said with a small smile. "Well, if my DNA can help turn dad back to normal, I'll help anyway I can." She said.
April then immediately hugged her, "Oh, thank you, Robyn," She said happily.
Tal then came up to the two, "It's gonna take some time though, so we'll need you down here whenever you can," She told Robyn.
"Don't worry, I've got time," Robyn said before pulling both April and Tal close, "Also, try take it easy on who gets Donnie, there's plenty of him to go around," She whispered teasingly.
Both April and Tal reeled back with bright blushes on their faces before glancing at each other, and growled with sparks between them, "I think you two need to cool off for a bit," Robyn said pushing them out of the lab, "Once you're ready, come back in," She said before closing the door.
The two girls looked at each other competitively, "So, looks like we both want the same man or turtle, huh?" April asked, crossing her arms.
"It would seem that way." Tal said with her hands on her hips. "Though, coming from you, it's shocking since you ditch your friends the first time."
April groaned in annoyance. "You're never gonna let that go, are you?" She asked.
"Not anytime soon." Tal said with a brow. "I mean, you left Donnie once over a complete accident how can he trust you won't do it again?"
"Hey, that mistake just helped me realize how important Donnie's friendship is to me," April said with a look. "And what about you, how do you feel about Donnie?"
Tal was surprised and looked away with a grunt before sighing, "Well, to be honest, when I first met Donnie, he was a little bit like a male version of me," Tal said as a small smile formed. "I mean, he can be a bit clumsy and chatty, but he's smart, brave, kind, and kinda cute. He's also better at engineering than I am with what we have on our island. I don't think I've ever met another turtle like him." She said fondly.
"Yeah, that's Donnie for ya," April said with a chuckle. "Seems like he's a magnet for us girls, huh?"
"Yeah." Tal said with a smile before she frowned. "But here's a thing, April. The reason I don't trust you is that you broke Donnie's heart and as his friend I can't let something like that slide. And not to mention, you're stubbornness nearly got us all killed just to prove something. Look, we don't see you as a sidekick, it's just that you're outclassed and out of practice."
"But I managed to save you guys." April pointed out.
"Because you panicked and your powers blasted the Kraang's brains out, which is still cool by the way, but that's not the point. We just got lucky." Tal stated. "If you're gonna join us on missions, you have to follow our lead and train harder before heading to the big leagues, the Kraang and Especially Shredder. If the situation was extremely dire, we'd let you know to join the field. Even your sister gets that." She said.
April looked down a bit before she sighed. "I just wanted to make up for turning my back on them. I just wanted to show them that I can look after myself." She said meekly.
Tal looked at her before sighing, "Tell you what, I'll help you out with your training and learning more about your powers, but I'll need you to follow my instructions to the letter and no slacking off," She told the girl.
April gave a sincere smile, "Thanks Tal," She said before giving a challenging smirk, "But don't think this means I'm gonna give up Donnie without a fight," She said.
Tal gave a chuckle and smirked back, "Heh, wouldn't dream of it O'Neil," She said as they both laughed and once they calmed down, Tal glanced downwards, "I don't which one of us Donnie will end up choosing, I'm gonna make sure it's me," She said with a smirk and raised her hand.
April kept her smirk as she accepted Tal's hand, and they held each other firmly. "Game on." She declared as the two looked at each other with smirks, determined to see who would win the heart of Donatello.
