UA Principal's Office (Day)
Nezu was a curious creature. As a living contradiction to the very nature of Quirks, he was always looking for another animal like him. And after what happened a few weeks ago with the Giant Villain, he believed that there may have been a lead. His Quirk, High Specs, gave him intelligence beyond that of any living creature on the planet. And despite this, he couldn't think of what those strange Quirked animals were.
The one that fought against the Giant appeared to have a stony exoskeleton, as well as the ability to create tar and fire. A volcano Quirk, perhaps? It would make sense, given the mountain of coal on it's back. The second creature, the one that fought Muscular, was a bit easier to explain. It appeared to be a mammalian creature with a hard shell and spikes. It clearly had incredible strength, as it was able to brawl with the Villain on equal footing. The boy who had tamed these creatures called them Coalossal and Chesnaught, fitting names in the mouse-man's opinion.
However, no animal on Earth had these characteristics, even if Quirks were taken into account. Besides, Chesnaught possessed multiple powers. Spiky Shield, Giga Impact, Hammer Arm, and Pin Missile. None of these attacks fell neatly into one Quirk definition. And then there was the child himself, the one who commanded these creatures. Where did he find wildlife like this, assuming they aren't experiments like himself. Nothing made sense.
But that begged the question. Who was this boy exactly? Nezu had scoured all of Japan's citizen registry for the blonde, but came up empty. And those orbs that contained and released the creatures were even stranger. Even I-Island didn't have tech like that.
Maybe it was time to meet the kid himself. He'd get clearer answers that way.
City Jail (Day)
When he woke up, Dominic found himself in a bad place. He was currently in a damp cell with little light, and the bars were too thick and wet to burn through. To top it all off, he didn't have his Poke Balls or Pokedex with him either. Thankfully, they were useless if anyone except him were to use them. 'Things cannot get worse.' the blonde thought to himself, trying to avoid the puddles of unknown liquid on the floor. 'For the first time in my life, I wish that was water.'
Since he left Eri with Wobuffet and Indeedee, he wasn't worried about the girl's safety. While the two Psychic-Types weren't as powerful as some of his other Pokemon, they were more than enough to defend Eri. His thoughts were cut off when he heard a metal door open down the hall. Two sets of footsteps echoed through the stone walls, one of which was decidedly quieter than the other.
"Inmate, you got a visitor." a guard said as he opened the cell door. "Don't try anything funny."
"I've never needed to try being funny. I won't start now." the blonde responded, eliciting a laugh from a male voice just outside his range of vision.
"You're a unique one, aren't you." the voice said, it's owner now revealed to Dominic. "I suppose that makes two of us."
The Trainer remained silent for a few seconds, analyzing the strange being before him. "Indeed." Dominic replied. "To who do I have the pleasure of being in the presence of?"
"You can call me Nezu." the animal introduced. "I saw your fight against Muscular. That was some impressive quick thinking on your part."
"In my line of work, quick thinking is the only thing between victory and failure." Dominic explained, recalling his first few years as a Trainer. He lacked focus then.
"And, what exactly is your line of work?" Nezu asked.
"Before I tell you that, what do you know about the Many Worlds Interpretation?" the blonde asked with a smile.
"It's a theory that states that every possible reality can and does exist, just apart from our own." the animal recited. "Are you saying what I think you're saying?"
A knowing look in his eye, Dominic continued. "If you doubt my claim, check my belongings. My phone should have photos from my world."
"Hmm. Let's say you're telling the truth. How did you manage to find those strange creatures?" Nezu asked, already knowing that the Trainer wasn't lying.
"Depends on which one you mean." the blonde said, thinking back to when he met his companions. "Chesnaught was given to me as a gift from an old mentor of mine. Coalossal on the other hand was first encountered in what's called the Max Lair. I won't get into the details about it right now, but trust me when I say that you don't want to go in empty-handed."
"Well, that does sound rather interesting. Would you care to tell me more about these creatures you possess?" Nezu asked.
"I would, but there's a bit of a problem. I'm currently...indisposed right now." Dominic said, a smug smile gracing his face.
"Then why don't we rectify that?" the Hero asked rhetorically, opening the cell door. "You'll be able to retrieve your belongings at the front desk."
Chuckling to himself, the Trainer exited the cell. "Thanks for letting me out. But I do have to wonder, why did you help me?" Dominic asked.
"You have potential. Despite having such powerful creatures at your disposal, you never did anything purely for your own gain." Nezu said. "So, I'd like to make an offer."
"What kind of offer?" the blonde asked, intrigued.
