He went back inside his room and locked the door. The apartment wasn't much but with his new job he might be able to buy himself a house. He put a Cup-O-Noodles in the microwave and watched it spin. He tore open the door before it could beep and ripped the lid off the styrofoam cup.
"Aahh, sweet food. I was saving you for dinner. Now you die, 'cause you'll be in my stomach!"
He spun his fork in it and slurped it, forgetting how hot it was. He let out a small squeak from the pain. He walked into the Living Room with it and checked his phone.
There was a single notification from the newspaper he was subscribed to. He opened it to find the article was about Veneer finally coming out of prison. Velvet was going to stay there for a few more weeks, because as the article said "she needed the extra time to reflect on her decisions."
"Huh. That explains why she wasn't there with him." He scrolled through a few more articles about Velvet and Veneer before getting bored and turning on the TV.
He watched it in silence for a little bit before changing it from the news to his favorite chanel, "Toons on Ten." He always loved watching old cartoons, even if people told him it was immature. He always compared the other Mount Rageons to the characters he loved, especially with how bendy they were.
He didn't have any friends.
He tried to smile, he wanted to laugh, but he couldn't stop thinking about Veneer. He didn't recognise him after all this time? He never thought he looked any different. He sighed and went into the bathroom. He removed his over coat and shirt and stared at his reflection, slowly removing his mask.
Hectorectima, and a scar on his right eye.
Hie right eye was yellow and his right was blue. His pupils were different too, the left one being a four pointed star and the right a rectangle. Veneer was the only one who made him feel good about himself. The scar was from his twelfth birthday. His house caught fire and he barely got out alive. He hadn't celebrated a birthday since.
"They really thought this looks like me? That fire took everything, my house, my family, my arms and legs..." He left, slamming the door shut.
He went into his room and grabbed a framed, charred, picture of him, Veneer, and Velvet together. "Oh, Veneer. If only you knew! I'll make sure you become just as famous as me, and then I'll take away everything! Just like you did to me." He placed it back on the desk.
He walked to his window and opened the blinds, the view overlooking most of Mount Ragous.
"I promise, by my honest word, that I will return the favor...old friend. Just you wait and see. If it happened once, it can-and will-happen again."
