UA Stadium (Day)

The Poke Ball popped open, and in a flash of light, a reptilian Pokemon with red scales and a feathered crown appeared. It landed on the ground with enough force to cause a minor tremor, making some of the other students lose their balance momentarily. With a shrill cry, it got on all fours and curled it's tail while inflating the air sac on it's chest. Grinning, Dominic hopped on the Pokemon's back.

As soon as Midnight announced the start of the race, the majority of the participants flooded the gate. Koraidon started moving, but halted when it's Trainer pulled back on it. "Wait a minute. I have a feeling we just came across our first obstacle. Watch."

"Okay, here's the play-by-play!" Present Mic said over the speakers. "Mummy Man, are you ready to do the commentary?"

"You're the one who forced me to come." Aizawa deadpanned. Pun not intended, but enjoyed nonetheless.

"Let's get started, Mummy Man!" the living boombox declared. "What should we pay attention to in the early stages?"

"This part right now." Aizawa said, glaring down at the narrow tunnel. Most, if not all, of the students got stuck in the human traffic, bringing the race to a halt. The first person to make it out was Todoroki, who flash-froze the ground to make it easier for him to move, while also creating the opposite effect for everyone around him.

'There we go.' Dominic thought to himself with a grin. "Now Koraidon, jump!" The Paradox Pokemon let out a prehistoric cry before leaping into the air, easily clearing the first hurdle. It landed on the ice without any problems, thanks to the tread-like scales on it's feet.

"There it is, folks! One of Xiao-Long's extraordinary little friends!" Present Mic said as Koraidon raced across the course, followed by several of Dominic's classmates. The announcer got out the Trainer's Pokedex, something he allowed the hero to borrow for the sake of the audience.

Dominic knew that this event was important for pros to scout for new interns, so granting them information about his Pokemon was crucial. And even if villains were watching, he didn't mind. If anything, he was hoping for it. The more people knew his name, the easier it would be to spread his influence.

Present Mic activated the device, then pointed it at the screen with Koraidon. Thanks to the microphone, everyone in the stands heard the entry.

"Koraidon, the Paradox Pokemon. Type: Fighting/Dragon. Koraidon is aware of it's own off-the-charts power and behaves as if it never feels threatened by any opponent. While it is wary of humans, it will sometimes play with them since it has a capricious and curious disposition."

"GET BACK HERE, YOU BASTARD!" Bakugo yelled as he used his explosions to catch up to Dominic.

"We need more speed. Koraidon, faster!" The Pokemon's eyes hardened as it started to run faster. In no time at all, it was running parallel to Todoroki. Once he was far enough ahead, he turned back at those behind him. 'Looks like a lot of them managed to get past the barricade as well.' Without warning, Koraidon stopped moving. If the increase in it's internal temperature was anything to go off, something bad had happened. Dominic turned back to the road ahead, being unpleasantly surprised by the robots from the entrance exam, including the Zero-Pointer.

Except now, there were dozens of them.

'Sheep.' Dominic deadpanned in his head.

"Obstacles have shown up suddenly!" Present Mic said over the microphone. "Starting with... the first barrier! Robo Inferno!"

Remembering the last time he fought a Zero-Pointer, Dominic dismounted from the Paradox Pokemon. "Koraidon, Apex Build!" The reptile began glowing in a scarlet light before rising up to stand on two legs. It's air sac was no longer inflated, and it's tail wasn't curled anymore. It also had an eager smile on it's face, one that was mirrored by it's trainer. "Use Collision Course!" Koraidon's wings unfurled from the thin strings they were tied into as it's entire body glowed scarlet. It then leapt into the air, spun around like a tire, then shot through a Zero-Pointer, instantly destroying it in an ancient explosion.

"INCREDIBLE!" Present Mic exclaimed. "That display of calmness in the face of danger is exactly what makes Xiao-Long perfect for the Hero Course!"

"His command to have Koraidon attack, while rash, was still logical." Aizawa said. "According to the Pokedex, Collision Course deals a lot more damage against metallic targets. Xiao-Long knew this, and acted accordingly."

With the path cleared, Koraidon returned to Sprinting Build and allowed Dominic to mount it again. Thanks to it's speed, they were both able to avoid the other robots as they tried attacking. Even if Dominic decided to battle all of them, Koraidon wasn't strong enough to take down that many opponents at once. Even if it could, this was a race, not a combat test.

'I only hope none of the others get too badly injured.' the blonde thought to himself as his Pokemon continued to rush through the course. If the sound of explosions and triumphant exclamations were any indicator, it seemed like he got what he wanted.

But, as per usual with Dominic, nothing ever goes the way it should. Because right when things seemed like they were cooling down, a giant ravine blocked the Trainer's path.

'I'm having words with Nezu when this is over.' the boy mentally complained as a familiar flash of pink appeared in his vision.
