1A Waiting Room (Day)
It was no secret to anyone that Dominic hated people. Heck, that was one of the reasons he was still alive. But this was completely unacceptable, even by his twisted standards.
"It all started when our mother passed away." Shinso said. "Our father never really liked us, and with her death, he could do whatever he wanted with us." The boy rolled up his sleeve, revealing many of the same injuries Dominic and Hypno found on Amara. The blonde's flames started to spark on their own, igniting in small amounts around him.
"Sorry. That sometimes happens when I hear something I don't like." Dominic explained, taking a deep breath and allowing the fires to extinguish themselves. "Please, continue."
"Right. In addition to these, I would regularly have my mouth taped or even glued shut so I couldn't use my Quirk to stop him." Shinso said. "Thankfully, he never did anything like that to my sister. Her Quirk is useless offensively."
"What is her Quirk, anyway? Neither me or my Pokemon have seen her do anything a normal human shouldn't be able to." Dominic asked.
"She can breathe underwater." the purplette said. "She inherited it from our mother."
"That explains the 5-hour long bath..." Dominic said under his breath, thankful that the water bill was still in Overhaul's name. "What about your father? What's his Quirk?"
"Sonic Scream." Shinso said, wincing at the reminder of the punishment. "It's similar to Present Mic's Quirk, only it's directed in a single spot instead of spread out."
"I've seen something like that before." Dominic said, recalling a certain sound-based weapon he used back when he worked in Brooklyn. "Because it's concentrated in one spot, it's far more painful than usual. I can't even imagine how that must feel like."
"Now then, why is Amara with you?" Shinso asked, his brow furrowing.
"Honestly, I can't take any credit. Hypno found her." Dominic explained. "Hypno is a Pokemon that feeds on Dream Energy. I allow it to roam the neighborhood at night to obtain this energy. During one of these walks, it found your sister by sensing her nightmares.
"Can you bring it back out?" Shinso asked. Dominic nodded, then tossed the Poke Ball onto the floor, releasing the Hypnosis Pokemon. The purplette got up from his seat, then proceeded to bow to it. "Thank you for saving Amara. You did what I never could." Hypno took in this information, then nodded in acceptance.
"Hypno's saying that it was no problem." Dominic said as he returned the Pokemon to its Poke Ball. "Let's just say it has a soft spot for people like your sister."
"How is she doing under your care?" Shinso asked, sitting back down.
"She's getting along well with my other Pokemon, and they enjoy her company as well." Dominic said, smiling. "However, she still has years of trauma to work through. She sounds and looks happy, but Amara is still very fragile mentally."
"Is there anything I can do to help?" Shinso asked, worried for his sibling's well-being.
"Well, there is one teensy thing you can do." Dominic said. "In my experience, family tends to help heal the mind. If Amara had her brother with her, it may help her move past her trauma. Besides, I think you both need to see eachother again."
"Thank you, Xiao-Long." Shinso said.
"Please, call me Dominic." the blonde said, smiling as he held out his hand.
"Then call me Hitoshi." the purplette responded, taking Dominic's hand into his own.
UA Stadium (Day)
As he strode through the halls trying to locate the cafeteria, a familiar presence became known to Dominic. "Endeavor." he said, knowing that the Flame 'Hero' was behind him. "To what do I owe the insurmountable pleasure?"
"I know you'll manage to battle Shoto." the man said. "You and your... creatures will put up a fight, even against him."
"Well, you're not wrong." Dominic said, already having chosen Todoroki's second opponent.
"Shoto was made to surpass All Might. If he must defeat you on the path to that goal, so be it." Endeavor said coldly, something Dominic would be sure to joke about later.
"Trust me, I know." the blonde said, acting nonchalant. "He told me and Midoriya all about how you're crafting him into some sort of perfect hero."
"Damn that boy..." Endeavor said under his breath. "He may be acting rebellious now, but he will demolish you in the tournament once he taps into the Quirk I gave him."
"..." Dominic remained silent for a few moments. "You know, I knew someone like you in the past. He was willing to do whatever it took to reach his goals, no matter what it cost him. Do you know what happened to him?" The pyromancer's eye turned blood red as his hair and arms ignited. "He disappeared forever, lost in a rainbow of his own delusion."
Though he would never admit it, Endeavor was intimidated here. He knew his own limits when it came to firepower, but this child somehow managed to exceed all of those limits in the span of a second. What kind of Quirk allowed the body to survive temperatures like that?
"It would be a shame if that fate met you, wouldn't you agree?" Dominic asked, a wide smile on his face.
"Are you threatening me, boy?" Endeavor asked, glaring at the blonde.
"Oh, no. That wasn't a threat." Dominic said, his voice echoing through the hall. "That was a promise."
