Water Battlefield (Night)
"Thunder Wave!" Pieurve commanded, prompting Octillery to use the same attack it used to Paralyze Sirius.
"Don't let it hit you! Use Shadow Ball!" Dominic said. Slowbro formed an orb of darkness between its hands, then threw the orb at Thunder Wave, nullifying it. "Now use Psychic!" Slowbro's eyes glowed bright pink as telekinetic force was pushed onto its opponent.
"Bullet Seed." Pieurve told his partner. Narrowing its eyes, the cephalopod repeatedly shot glowing seeds from its nozzle-like mouth.
"Use your tail to defend!" Dominic said, causing Slowbro to turn around. The Shellder on its tail absorbed Bullet Seed, taking the damage so Slowbro didn't have to. "Now use Psychic again!" Once again subjected to its opponent's mental energy, Octillery was lifted several feet into the air before it was slammed down into the boat.
"Don't give in! Use Hyper Beam!" the poacher yelled. Octillery's mouth filled with golden light before it blasted Slowbro with the concentrated energy. The Hermit Crab Pokemon remained standing for a few moments before falling over, its HP depleted.
"Thank you, Slowbro. You gave it your all." Dominic said, sending the Pokemon back. 'I only have Cradily and Gyarados left. Cradily's still tired from its battle with Grapploct, and I have no idea how Gyarados will behave once it sees Pieurve.' Shaking his head, the trainer made his choice. "Cradily, please lend me your might!" In a flash of light, Cradily appeared on deck, injuries all over its body. "Use Energy Ball!" Gathering Life Energy, Cradily shot its opponent with an orb of green light. "And again!" A second Energy Ball struck Octillery's flesh, leaving a black mark on its head.
After that attack, Octillery regained its ability to move. "Great! Now use Bullet Seed!" Pieurve shouted. A torrent of seeds was launched at the Barnacle Pokemon.
"Energy Ball!" Dominic shouted back. The two Grass-Type Moves flew past eachother and hit both of their targets, resulting in a Double KO.
'This is getting tense.' Asui thought to herself, slowly inching her way toward Sirius. She didn't want this villain, who Xiao-Long apparently knew, to notice her movement.
Both trainers sent back their Pokemon, and both trainers were nervous. Pieurve was nervous because he didn't know who Dominic would use next. For all he knew, it could be a Pokemon that had a Double Resistance to his last one. Dominic on the other hand was nervous because of how Gyarados acted the last time it was face-to-face with its captor. Long story short, it didn't end well.
'I don't really have a choice here, do I?' the boy thought to himself. He whistled, letting out a piercing note that prompted Gyarados to approach the ship. As soon as it laid eyes on Pieurve, its body started radiating arcane energy. Snarling, it lunged at the captain. But as it jumped forward, something coiled around its body and kept it in place.
Pieurve, Sirius, and Asui were shocked at what they saw. Black tendrils of what appeared to be slime were being wrapped around Gyarados. And the source of these tendrils was Dominic, who was releasing the thread-like substance from his palms. It wasn't until he noticed the scar on one of its ridges that Pieurve recognized the Pokemon. "That Gyarados... That's the Magikarp you stole from me!" he yelled, outraged.
Being referred to as an object only made Gyarados angrier, as evidenced by it trying in vain to escape its trainer's grip. "I know how you feel, trust me." Dominic said. "But you have to listen to me! You're my last Pokemon, and if I lose, he'll be able to do what he did to you to Asui and Sirius!" Gyarados continued to writhe around, firing a Hydro Pump that was deflected by a black tendril. "Please, Gyarados. I can't win if you don't cooperate!"
"This is why you shouldn't have taken it from me. What good is a Pokemon that won't listen to its Trainer?" Pieurve taunted, purposefully trying to rile up Gyarados even more so it wouldn't obey. "Now, you've pushed me to the brink. Time to bring out my ace! Glalie, come out!" Throwing an Ultra Ball, the captain released a round Pokemon covered in ice. Frightened that it might knock her out cold, pun not intended, Asui used the Pokedex.
"Glalie, the Face Pokemon. Type: Ice. Glalie has a body made of rock, which it hardens with an armor of ice. This Pokémon has the ability to freeze moisture in the atmosphere into any shape it desires."
"Crush them both with Dark Pulse!" Pieurve commanded, grinning wickedly. From its mouth, Glalie launched a beam of dark energy at Gyarados. But before the Atrocious Pokemon took any damage, Dominic sent some of his tendrils to block the attack.
"Gyarados, I cannot do this on my own." the blonde said, irritated. "Please put your anger into battling. We'll deal with Pieurve later." Gyarados' restraints were removed, leaving the Pokemon to stare at its trainer. After a few moments, it turned its attention to Glalie. "Glad to see you're finally seeing things my way." Dominic said with a smile.
"You'll be mine again. Just you wait!" Pieurve proclaimed, taking off his captain's hat. On the inside was a Key Stone, sewn into the fabric. Dominic's eyes widened as he watched the poacher press his fingers to the gemstone, releasing strands of golden light that connected to a piece of Glalitite that his Pokemon was holding. Light filled everyone's vision as Glalie underwent its Mega Evolution.
"That... Isn't good." Dominic deadpanned, turning back to Gyarados. "But we can do this. Hydro Pump!" The Shiny Pokemon, filled with vengeance-induced rage, unleashed a torrent of pressurized water at Mega Glalie.
"Freeze-Dry." Pieurve said, just loudly enough for his Pokemon to hear. Glalie let out a chilling gust if cold air from its mouth, freezing Hydro Pump inches before it made contact. "Now use Ice Shard." The now-frozen Hydro Pump shattered into hundreds of razor sharp pieces, which all launched at Gyarados. The sea dragon was pushed back before it shook its head and roared.
"Looks like we'll need to pull out the big guns for this one." Dominic said, internally amazed at how Mega Glalie used Hydro Pump to create an Ice Shard attack. "Time for the Move we've trained hard to perfect! Use Outrage!" The skies seemed to shudder in fear as Gyarados' eyes turned blood red. It leapt out of the water and coiled itself around Glalie. It then proceeded to bite, whip, headbutt, and squeeze its opponent repeatedly until it broke free. Once it did, Gyarados' eyes returned to normal.
"How did you do that?" Pieurve asked, sweating despite the cold air being produced by Mega Glalie's mouth.
"Normally, Outrage is a Move that confuses the Pokemon that uses it. But we don't use that Move normally." Dominic explained, a smug smile on his face. Behind him, Gyarados was giving the same smile. "After a little... excursion, we figured out a different method of using a variety of Moves. One such Move was Outrage, as you just witnessed."
"That doesn't matter, you smug cactus." Pieurve said, gritting his teeth and clenching his fists. "Glalie, end this with Hyper Beam!" Bright cyan light filled the Mega Evolved Pokemon's maw as it charged up its strongest attack.
"Then we'll do the same! Hyper Beam!" Dominic shouted. Bright golden light filled Gyarados' mouth as it charged up its most famous attack.
The two beams were fired, and they met with a loud explosion of energy that lit up the sky. For the first few moments, neither Pokemon seemed to overpower the other. After a while, though, Glalie's Hyper Beam whittled away at Gyarados'. It wasn't long before it took everything the Water-Type had to keep Hyper Beam going.
"DON'T GIVE AN INCH!" Dominic yelled to Gyarados. "Don't you want payback? Revenge for what he did to you? SHOW US WHAT YOU CAN DO!"
With newfound resolve, Gyarados unleashed another Hyper Beam while using Hyper Beam. Little by little, Glalie's Hyper Beam was being destroyed. Roaring, Gyarados focused its entire being on annihilating this attack. As such, it ended up breaking apart Glalie's Hyper Beam and striking it with its own. Covered in smoking wounds, Glalie fell onto the deck and reverted back to its normal form, utterly defeated.
