"Daniel, have you heard from Sophia lately?" Kallen Tracy, aka Captain Mahogany, asked his friend and work partner, Daniel Svenson, aka Lieutenant Turquoise.
Clara Metcalfe, aka Lieutenant Coral, looked up from the tablet screen she was reading and frowned, truth be told she was worried about her friends, Kallen especially, Kallen hadn't heard anything from his sister since his cousin Shane Tracy had been returned home after his brief stay at Skybase, and the two of them usually touched base with each other daily, with a short message, ever since Daniel gave Sophia Tracy a communicator that she and Kesha could use to communicate with them without going through the official channels.
The communicators had been the idea of Dr Edward Wilkie, aka Dr. Fawn, as a way to stave off Kallen's homesickness, as well as way to help keep him calm after suffering from a injury that didn't knock him out or kill him.
Not that Kesha knew it was Kallen she was talking to… As far as she knew she had struck up a relationship with both Mahogany and Coral as a result of her wanting to know the people that worked with the guy her cousin was crushing on.
That's where Daniel came into the equation, he was perfectly happy to help Kallen keep in contact with his family, because it gave him an opportunity to know Sophia, an opportunity he took full advantage off, because Kallen definitely wasn't present for a lot of the conversations they had together.
Clara was pretty sure Daniel was in love with Sophia, and had been on some level ever since he first met her when he was ten years old, "No I haven't…" Daniel replied, frowning. "Which is odd, because usually she contacts me at least once a week, even when things are busy…"
"Damn," Kallen muttered. "I was hoping you had heard from her, because I haven't heard anything from Keys, since Shay was sent home…"
"Wait," Daniel replied. "You haven't heard from Keys?" He looked at Clara. "Keys hasn't spoken to you either?"
Clara shook her head, as she spun the tablet she was holding around to face Daniel and Kallen, "And as far I can tell," she commented, as she showed them what she looking at. "It been business as usual, Three and Four were spotted working in the field in France, yesterday."
Kallen took the tablet from Clara and frowned at what he read, "I need to talk with Ed," he replied. "Something's happened, I need to find out what."
Clara put a hand on Kallen's shoulder in an attempt to calm him, "I'm sure that there is a completely understandable explanation," she tried to reassure him.
"Maybe we should try to get in contact though the official channels," Daniel commented. "See if anyone is willing to talk to us that way."
"Good idea," Kallen replied. "It might give us an idea on why they aren't talking."
"I'll talk to Mom and Dad," Daniel replied. "And see if I can get permission."

As soon as Daniel managed to connect through to Thunderbird 5, Kallen knew that they had a problem.
One that they would have to have direct contact with John to rectify.
"This is International Rescue," a female voice, that Kallen knew belonged to EOS responded. "What is the purpose of your call, Spectrum?"
Daniel looked at Kallen nervously, "This is Lieutenant Turquoise," he spoke into the comm. "I'm inquiring about how Shane Tracy is doing and would like to able to speak with Four if she is available."
"International Rescue is not at liberty to discuss the condition of any of its members with the general public," EOS replied. "Also personal calls are not permitted on this line, goodbye."
"Wait!" Daniel shouted, as the line was cut. "Damn it!" He looked at Kallen. "Any ideas?"
Kallen sighed, "It will probably not work," he growled. "But try again, say it's for official business, and if you can't talk to Sophia that you want to talk with IR's commander."
"You think your old man is going to want to talk with me?" Daniel replied. "Considering that this isn't actually official business we want to talk to him about."
"You got to get past the gate keeper first," Kallen sighed. "And she is not going to be easily fooled."
"Who is she anyway?" Daniel asked.
"Someone I am not at liberty to to discuss," Kallen answered. "Just know, Gordon and Sophia are not her favourite people, and considering that your Sophia's friend is not going to help you here."
"Great," Daniel replied sarcastically, as he turned back to the communication array. "This is Spectrum calling International Rescue…"
"Lieutenant Turquoise," EOS snapped back. "I highly doubt your commander would find it appropriate for you to be contacting us over official channels for personal reasons."
"I have permission," Daniel replied. "And I wouldn't be using the official channel, but we haven't heard anything from Sophia or Kesha in a couple of weeks and we have been getting concerned."
"Your concerns are not our problem," EOS replied. "If Sophia and Kesha don't want to talk to you I am not going to force them… Besides, Sophia could do better…"
Daniel blinked at the comm, "What's that's supposed to mean?" He growled.
"It means don't call us unless you have some official business for us to attend to," EOS replied. "Have your commanding/communications officer contact us next time with official business otherwise we may have to file a complaint for harassment, GOODBYE."
EOS cut the signal again.
Kallen put a hand on Daniel's shoulder, "You did your best," he said. "But the ball is in their court, we will have to wait for them to contact us."
"If they will contact us," Daniel replied. "Has Fawn said anything that could shed some light the situation?"
Kallen shook is head, "No," he replied. "But he has got to be careful with what he asks Willow, in case he exposes himself, it's the same with Paul - I will not risk those lines of communication unless it's life or death."
Daniel sighed and looked down at the comm unit, "I don't get it," he mumbled. "What did we to get them mad at us?"
Kallen couldn't give him an answer…
