I-Expo Tower (Night)
"XIAO-LONG!" Midoriya cried out, breaking free of his chains. Like a rocket, he used his Quirk to propel himself towards Wolfram, only to hit a wall of metal that the villain conjured.
"Midoriya, it's fine!" Marnie said, releasing Grimmsnarl so it could free her. "Dominic's been through worse than a little bullet to the head."
The boy calmed down slightly when he heard that, remembering when Nomu crushed Dominic's head. His classmate was durable.
"Ugh, did anyone get the number of the truck that ran over my head?" Dominic asked as magma dripped from his wound. Sensing the liquid on his face, he finally remembered what happened. "Oh, right." With his eye glowing, his wound closed and his body absorbed the metal in the bullet.
"I will never understand how your body works." Marnie deadpanned, free from her bindings. She'd known since the Darkest Day that her friend wasn't what he appeared to be. And despite having it explained to her by his older sister, she still didn't understand everything. "Melissa, you can operate the security system on your own, right?"
"Yes." the girl responded.
"Then go. We'll handle things here." the Gym Leader assured, standing at Grimmsnarl's side.
"Not on my watch!" the subordinate villain said, running toward Melissa as she tried to leave the room.
"Zamazenta, use Crunch!" Dominic shouted. The Warrior Pokemon sped like a blur to shield Melissa before biting down on the villain's leg. This bought just enough time for Melissa to escape.
"Why don't you just STAY DEAD!?" Wolfram yelled, forming pillars of metal that were sent to crush the blonde and his Pokemon.
"Use Reflect!" Dominic commanded. Zamazenta roared, creating a rainbow-colored wall of light that appeared in front of it. The same effect was applied to Marnie's Grimmsnarl. When the pillars made contact with Reflect, they turned into shards of rock that bounced off Zamazenta's metal body. "Now use Behemoth Bash on the subordinate!" Zamazenta's metal armor transformed into a giant shield, glowing a bright magenta. With its eyes burning, the Legendary Pokemon threw its whole body at the villain.
"Don't say I didn't give you the chance to give up." Wolfram said, reaching his arm to Dominic, then closing his fist. The boy's chest suddenly started to hurt, and he began to start vomiting up magma. Zamazenta stopped Behemoth Bash, worried for its trainer. Unfortunately, its hesitation allowed Wolfram to throw the Steel-Type into the ceiling, then send it crashing back down to Dominic.
"Dominic! Zamazenta!" Marnie shouted. "Grimmsnarl, use Spirit Break!" Filled with rage, Grimmsnarl's body started to glow pink, and it ran toward Wolfram.
"Pests." the villain said, using a metal needle to pierce through Grimmsnarl's hairy defense. The Pokemon was sent flying into the wall, knocked out. "Now then, let's go, Professor." Wolfram left the room, leaving behind the two Trainers and Midoriya.
After he was gone, Dominic stood back up. "I really need to stop pissing off people with metal powers." he griped. Looking down at Zamazenta, he saw that the Pokemon was heavily injured. "Return." he said, calling back the Legendary Pokemon.
"Where are they?" Marnie asked.
"They're going to the roof. They have a helicopter up there." Dominic explained. "But before we do that, take this and use it on Grimmsnarl. I had one on me in case of an emergency." Reaching into his pocket, the blonde got out a Max Revive. Marnie took the item and gave it to her partner, revitalizing it. "Now, let's kick some ass."
Tower Roof (Night)
Dominic, Marnie, and Midoriya reached the roof just as Wolfram pushed Mr. Shield into the helicopter. "Stop. Right. There." Dominic said, furious. "I believe you have something that doesn't belong to you."
"Give the professor back!" Midoriya yelled.
"I wonder, did you come all the way up here so you could make this man pay for his crimes?" Wolfram asked.
"Oh, no." Dominic said, grinning. "We came up here to give you the ass-whupping of the century!"
"I'd like to see you brats try!" Wolfram taunted, forming another pillar of metal that was speeding towards the group.
"Charizard, use Blast Burn!" Dominic shouted, throwing a Poke Ball. The second it opened, Charizard blasted the pillar with a stream of fire, exploding on contact with the pillar.
"Grimmsnarl, you too!" Marnie said, calling out her partner again. "Use False Surrender!" Grimmsnarl got down on all fours, allowing the hair on its back to shoot out like needles. Wolfram used his Quirk to make a wall of metal that protected him, nullifying the attack.
"I'll save him no matter what it takes!" Mdoriya proclaimed, rushing to save Mr. Shield. "Because that's what heroes do!"
"Oh, really?" Wolfram said, pulling out his gun and pointing it at Mr. Shield. Midoriya stopped moving. "Hmm. Sounds like being a hero is pretty inconvenient. I haven't even been using my full power, and yet all of you are helpless against me!" The man slammed his hand into the floor, causing more pillars of metal to appear, all aimed at Dominic.
"Argh! Atonement Blast!" the boy shouted, unleashing a torrent of fire energy from his palms. The flames battle against the metal, but were eventually silenced when the pillar tore through them and crashed into their master. Before Marnie or Midoriya could say anything, Dominic broke out of the rubble, his arm ripped from his body.
"Xiao-Long!" Midoriya said, worried.
"He's lost limbs before." Marnie explained, trying to calm the greenette down.
"Take off." Wolfram said to the helicopter pilot. His getaway vehicle began to fly away from the tower.
"Charizard, get me up there!" Dominic yelled. The Flame Pokemon allowed him on its back before it took flight, quickly reaching the helicopter's altitude.
"I'll give you this, kid. You're persistent." Wolfram said, aiming his gun. He fired, causing the bullet to hit Charizard in the chest, causing it and its Trainer to fall back to the tower. Thankfully, the Pokemon was only stunned. But the blonde landed directly on where his arm was removed.
Livid, Dominic's wound began to ooze a black substance. The fluid condensed, forming a new arm for him. After a few seconds, it went from pitch black to his normal skin color. "I need to get stronger." he told himself. Charizard looked at its trainer, worried. "I need to get back what I lost when I came here." A scaly sensation on his hand alerted the boy to his partner, who was rubbing its head on his palm. Dominic smiled, understanding what Charizard was telling him. "We'll get back what we lost."
"Hello, everyone!" Leon said, riding on his Charizard's back. With him was Rose.
"Leon, Chairman Rose!" Marnie said, surprised.
"We came as soon as our binds came loose." Leon explained as Charizard landed. "Now then, I think you could use our help here."
"Wait a minute, if you're free, then-" Midoriya never got to finish his sentence.
"And I am here as well!" All Might proclaimed, flying up the side of the tower. The wind pressure from his speed caused the helicopter to experience turbulence. "Now release my friend, you fiend!" The hero dove straight down, punching through the helicopter and causing it to explode. He landed on the ground safely with Mr. Shield in his arms. "Everything will be okay."
"Papa!" Melissa said, running onto the roof. She immediately hugged her father, despite his gunshot wound.
"I'm sorry." Mr. Shield said. "It's my fau-" He was cut off when both him and All Might were struck by a metal pillar. The scientist was wrapped in cords and wires that Wolfram was controlling.
'Why does this remind me of that one nightmare Gregory told me about?' Dominic wondered, looking at the blob.
"I heard Sam. All Might's Quirk is failing him!" Wolfram said, the enhancing device on his head. "He doesn't have the same unstoppable power he once did!"
"Oh, we're screwed." Marnie said.
All Might once again leapt into action, delivering a Texas Smash. But when he threw the punch, his fist landed in a slab of metal. Caught off-guard, the hero was then thrown back.
Suddenly, the entire building began to shake as metal flew into the giant body Wolfram was creating. "David Shield's genius lives up to its reputation! I can tell my Quirk's growing more powerful! It feels amazing! I'm never taking this off!"
'Headset, his eyes turned purple, and he's controlling a giant metal blob. Why does this sound so much like Gregory's nightmare?' Dominic wondered, deja vu running rampant in his mind.
"I think I know how to make this thing's price rise even higher!" Wolfram said. "People'll bid like crazy for the weapon that killed the Number 1 Hero!"
Everything around All Might started to lunge at him, turning into pillars and spears that didn't stop until their target was dead. The hero attempted to counter one with a Smash attack, but was overwhelmed.
"I think we've stood on the sidelines long enough." Dominic said. "Rose, Leon, Marnie. Ready for a Raid Battle?"
"I might not be as strong as I used to be, but I'll never turn down a battle." Rose said.
"Midoriya, keep Melissa safe." Marnie said.
"Now then, time for an absolutely Champion time!" Leon proclaimed.
