"So Ash, we know you came with Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charizard and Squirtle. You also asked for Kingler and Muk, how many other Pokemon do you have in storage?" Casey asked.
"Let's see, I have Snorlax, along with my Tauros." Ash said.
"Tauros Race." Molly said.
"I mean it sounds fun, but also dangerous." Ash pointed out.
"Yeah, that would explain the prize." Molly said.
"Wait, prize?" Ash asked, looking over to where Molly was looking. "Running with the Tauros, that sounds incredible!"
"Are you really going to call all of your Tauros just for this?" Casey questioned.
"No, that's ridiculous, I only need one Tauros for this." Ash said. "Unless you two want to compete as well."
"No, I had enough chaos from the sewer incident." Molly said.
"Alright, I've got some time before the race time to get me one of my Tauros." Ash said, rushing off.
At the Pokemon Center
"Calling for a bit of everyone lately, huh Ash." Professor Oak said, grabbing a Safari Ball. "What's it for this time?"
"There's a race where you run with Tauros." Ash said excitedly.
"Ash, while I have you on the line I would like to speak to you about something." Professor Oak said.
"Professor I know you'd like to get a closer look at Gligar, but with my team already being down to five right now." Ash sighed.
"No, I'm sure you'll let me when you're ready, this is actually about your Tauros." Professor Oak admitted.
"Is something wrong with them?" Ash asked.
"No, no, they're all fine, and I do find being able to research an entire heard of them quite rewarding, but have you ever thought of trading some of them?" Professor Oak asked.
"I don't know Professor." Ash admitted hesitantly.
"I'm not forcing you to do anything my lad, I was simply curious as to if you'd put any thought into the idea." Professor Oak said. "Tauros are powerful Pokemon, and I'm sure many a trainer would offer a good trade for the chance to have one."
"Thanks for the advice Professor, I'll, I'll think about it." Ash said, as he received a Tauros's Pokeball. "Thanks again for sending him over."
"Any time Ash." Professor Oak said.
Elsewhere
"I don't know about this Jess, it seems risky." James said, as the Team Rocket trio made their way through the town.
"I'm telling you our plan is full proof." Jessie assured. "We offer up trades to get these fools strong and rare Pokemon and then when they least expect it, we steal the Pokeballs right from them!"
"But what if they catch on, I mean it won't take long for them to start realizing what we're doing." James said.
"That's why we's gots to pick a strong one first, and then we can force the trainers to hand over the rest." Meowth said.
"Plenty of primo Pokemon ripe for the picking!" Jessie exclaimed.
"Hey did you three say you were looking to trade?" A young boy asked curiously.
"Why yes we are, what are you hoping to trade away today?" Jessie asked.
"Wobbuffet!" A tall blue Pokemon exclaimed from behind the boy.
"Oh my Wobbuffet, are you interested?" The boy asked.
"Jess, it doesn't look too strong, we should wait for something better." James whispered.
"Alright scram kid, we're not interested." Jessie said, pushing the kid aside.
"Yeah, I get that a lot. Come on Wobbuffet." The boy said, walking towards the race track.
"Come on Ash you've got this!" Casey cheered as Ash and his Tauros passed some of the top racers on the final turn.
"Pika Pika!" Pikachu cheered from the fence post.
"And there we have from our last minute entry our winner is Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town!" The Judge declared.
"What do you think, maybe he'd be willing to trade." The boy said to his Wobbuffet.
At the exit of the track
"That was insane Ash." Molly said.
"Thanks, I thought so too." Ash replied.
"No, I think she meant that literally." Casey pointed out.
"Umm, excuse me." A boy asked walking up to the trio.
"Hey is everything alright?" Ash asked.
"Well, I was curious if you'd be up for a trade, for your Tauros." The boy asked. "My name is Benny by the way."
"Hi Benny, I'm Ash and these are my friends Molly and Casey." Ash said. "As for the trade…". Ash paused, remembering what Professor Oak had told him. "Umm, what are you offering?"
"Oh, my Wobbuffet." Benny said, as the blue Pokemon waddled up.
'Wobbuffet, the Paitent Pokemon, a Psychic type. In order to conceal its black tail, it lives in a dark cave and only moves about at night.' Casey's Pokedex said.
"Well it looks rare." Ash said. "How about it Tauros, want a change of scenery?"
"Moo." Tauros said calmly.
"Alright then." Ash said. "Sure I'm up for a trade."
"A trade?" A man said in shock.
"Did that kid just say he was up for a trade?" A woman asked surprised.
"Wait, I have something to offer before you trade!" Another man said, causing a large group of people to chase after them.
About halfway through the stampede
"What do you think people are rushing towards?" Meowth asked.
"Don't worry, we'll be sure to get it before anyone else." Jessie said, grabbing Lickitung's Pokeball before being knocked into a trade machine by a random trainer.
"Jessie are you okay?" James asked, rushing over to her.
"I'm fine, but whoever caused this is going to get it!" Jessie said, grabbing her Pokeball, not realizing the trade.
"Thanks lady!" A little girl said, holding Lickitung's Pokeball.
Back with the protagonists
"Alright, and there we go." Benny said, picking up Tauros's Safari Ball.
"Happy to help, I'm sure Wobbuffet will be great!" Ash said, picking up the Pokeball.
"The Twerps!" Jessie exclaimed angrily.
"Team Rocket!" Ash accused.
"Did you cause that stampede?!" James demanded.
"Not on purpose at least." Molly said.
"Well we're here to take whatever rare Pokemon you just got!" Jessie argued. "Arbok, Lickitung come on out!"
"Weezing, Victreebell, let's go!" James called out.
Arbok, Weezing, and Victreebell came out along with a strange red shell.
"Jess, what is that?" James asked.
"What happened to Lickitung?" Jessie asked in shock.
"I think they accidentally traded." Casey whispered.
"But what is it?" Ash asked, pulling out his Pokedex.
'Shuckle, the Mold Pokemon, a Bug and Rock Type. The berries it stores in its vase-like shell decompose and become a goose liquid.' Ash's Pokedex said.
"Well, you're not the only one with a new Pokemon. Come on out Wobbuffet!" Ash called out. "Hey Benny, what moves does Wobbuffet know?" Ash whispered.
"Right, Wobbuffet is a counter attacker. Counter to redirect physical damage, Mirror Coat for Special, Safeguard for status moves, and Destiny Bond to take down someone with him." Benny explained.
"Alright." Ash said, waiting for Team Rocket to attack first.
"Arbok use Headbutt!"
"Weezing use Tackle, Victreebell use Double Edge!"
"Wobbuffet use Counter!" Ash called out.
All three of Team Rocket's Pokemon slammed into Wobbuffet, bending the psychic type backwards before he sprung straight back up, tossing all three back like ragdolls.
"Jessie use Shuckle!" James begged.
"Great idea!" Jessie said, picking up the shell.
"Pikachu, sned them flying with a Thunder attack!" Ash called out.
"Pi Ka Chuuuu!" Pikachu cried out, sending out a blast of electricity, sending the Team Rocket trio and their Pokemon flying off.
"We're Blasting Off Again!" Team Rocket cried out.
"Benny, Benny, look what I got?" A young girl said running up with a Lickitung.
"That's great Kaylie, look who I got!" Benny said, sending out his new Tauros.
"Hey, take care of Tauros for me Benny." Ash said, offering his hand.
"You too with Wobbuffet, I'm sure he'll have a lot of fun with you." Benny said.
"Wobbuffet!" Wobbuffet cried.
"Pi Pikachu!" Pikachu cheered, sitting atop of Wobbuffet's head.

Yes Ash has Wobbuffet, but don't worry we'll see more of him along with Jessie's new Shuckle. I feel like Wobbuffet was always an unwilling participant with Team Rockey's evil plans, he often even showed not being comfortable with their plans.
