Opening Volume 1
The opening starts with Ruby Rose kneeling at Summer's Gravestone near the Cliffside Forest. In the midst of a snowstorm, she looks up and sees a figure wearing a white cloak with a red interior, nearly identical to hers, that looks as if a person is wearing it before dissolving into white rose petals. The moon starts to scatter as the sky changes color, and a huge gust of wind kicks up snow and rose petals from Ruby's cloak. We look to the left with the snow and rose petals, revealing the title of the show.
Sill Iceberg walking through the halls of Schnee Manor and passed the window where light shines down on him.
Weiss Schnee is seen under a spotlight in the Schnee Training Room, possibly preparing to sing as she closes her eyes.
Lye Bron who was next and is currently looking at his right arm in sadness before he looks up at the as we look up as well.
Blake Belladonna appears next, standing on a branch in Forever Fall forest, then disappearing suddenly when a branch passes over the camera. In the background, outlines of Adam Taurus' mask and face are seen over the moon.
Vi Tigger appears on the ground as shadows surround him before a Smokey monster figure stands over him.
Yang Xiao Long looks over the city where Junior's Club is situated, checking her Scroll before looking up and riding off on her motorcycle, Bumblebee, in a cloud of smoke.
Through the Smoke we see Rad Robin and he was stretching his hand to the sky and then looks behind him and we see Alex Grey with his Huge Longsword Katana and eyes that are blue with unique eye slits.
Several creatures of Grimm - including dozens of Beowolves, Ursai, a Death Stalker, and a giant Nevermore flying at the camera - are seen.
Roman Torchwick and a few of his henchmen appear.
The scene bursts into fire, and Four silhouettes of Flytrap, Mercury Black, Emerald Sustrai and Cinder Fall are visible through the flames, as the camera zooms in on Cinder's right eye.
Ruby, Sill, Weiss, Lye, Blake, Vi, Yang and Rad prepare to fight a horde of shadowy creatures surrounding them as an orb of darkness is formed above. Ruby notices it just in time and the eight get out of the way as it impacts the ground where they were. Ruby blasts herself forward into the fray, and her teammates follow.
Elsewhere Sill and his teammates charge as well but each are holding an Sacred Gear or using them. Sill uses his Winged Sacred Gear known as Divine Dividing and has white dragon like armor magically put on him as he flys into the fray. Next was Lye holding a golden sacred Gear battle axe named Regulus Nemea and looked like a golden lion and slammed his Axe to the ground and caused a earthquake. Next was Vi as he had sacred gear known as Vritra Prison that is purple and looked like Arm and leg greaves and something had came out and it looked like a purple dragon and becane his body armor. Rad the final teammate had a gaunlet of red and had a sacred Gear named Boosted Gear as a Red Dragon comes out and in a line each were wearing armor magic armor with creatures behind them that looked like Grimm but their bone structure was replaced with crystal as they charged at the Grimm.
Looking at a statue of a man and woman on a cliff over a Beowolf, Jaune Arc is joined by his teammates - Pyrrha Nikos, Lie Ren, and Nora Valkyrie - as they all look up to the sky.
Ozpin, holding The Long Memory and his mug, and Shion Zaiden holding Dream Catcher and Glynda Goodwitch, with her scroll, look onward while at the railing of the front of the school's airship, which flies off as several smaller craft soar around it.
A quick shot of each of the girls in Team RWBY and Boys in Team SLVR with their symbols (Ruby Flaming Rose; Weiss white Snowflake; Blake Black flame; Yang Yellow heart; Sill Silver Knight Helmet; Lye Beige Yellow Lion head; Vi Violet White Fang Emblem; Bright Red Dragon Head) appear before a black background.
Ozpin and Glynda, Jaune and his teammates, Sill and his teammates, Yang, Blake and Weiss all stand at the doors of Beacon Academy, and at the front, Ruby wields Crescent Rose, suddenly becoming a black silhouette (with her red cloak unchanged) that twirls the weapon around until she stops and allows the title "RWBY: Knights of Lost Origins" to appear in the full moon behind her still-flowing cape.
Vale, In front of Beacon
As the opening ends to a view of several ships carrying students and docking at the entrance of the school. As soon as one lands, Jaune Arc emerges and goes over to the nearest trash can, hunching over it as he loses his lunch.
Rad, Lye, Ruby and Yang, alongside several other students, walk out of the ship and head down the paved path to the front of the school.
Rad, Lye, Ruby and Yang: (as they take in the entirety of Beacon Academy) Wow...
Yang: The view from Vale's got nothing on this!
Lye: You can say that again.
Rad: And look around.
As they look around and Ruby does so.
Ruby: (getting so excited she becomes a 2-D, starry-eyed, floating chibi) Ohmygosh, Rad! That kid's got a collapsible staff! And she's got a fire sword! (she tries getting closer, but Yang pulls her sister by the hood back into realistic proportions) Ow! Ooww!
Yang: Easy there, little sister. They're just weapons!
Rad just looks at Yang and let a overly dramatic gasp as it was a mischief that needed to correct at least to Rad and Ruby.
Rad: They're– (Laughs Lightly) They're 'Just Weapons?' They arent just weapons! Ruby tell these naive imbeciles about these Weapons.
Lye: I didn't say anything.
Rad: Don't care. Ruby can you explain.
Ruby: Of course Rad, these people here did not just buy them they made them. So they aren't 'Just weapons'? They're an extension of ourselves! They're a part of us! Oh, they're so cool!
Yang: Well, why can't you two swoon over your own weapon? Aren't you happy with it?
Rad transformed his weapon Buster Sword as did Ruby.
Rad: Im Happy with Buster Sword.
Ruby: (transforming her weapon into its scythe form) Of course I'm happy with Crescent Rose! I just really like seeing new ones. It's like meeting new people, but better...
Yang: (playfully pushing her sister's hood down over her face) Ruby, come on, why don't you go try and make some friends of your own?
Ruby: (taking off her hood) But... why would I need friends if I have you three?
Yang: Well... (in a flash, a group of other students surround Yang and Lye and they all dash down the road) Actually, Lye and are going elsewhere and my friends are here. Gotta go catch up. 'Kay, see ya, bye!
Ruby: (spinning and dizzy-eyed from Yang's sudden leaving) Wait, where are you going?! Are we supposed to go to our dorms? Where are our dorms? Do we have dorms? (stopping for a moment, still reeling) I don't know what I'm doing...
Ruby falls backwards into a luggage cart, sending cases flying.
Rad: Ruby you ok?
Ruby: Uh, yeah.
Someone is standing over her whuch is Weiss Schnee and Sill Iceberg.
Weiss: What are you doing?!
Ruby: (getting up on her hands) Uh, sorry!
Weiss: Sorry?! Do you have any idea of the damage you could have caused?
Ruby: (holding a case) Uuhhh...
Weiss: Give me that! (she snatches the luggage from Ruby and opens it to reveal its twinkling-sounding contents) This is Dust - mined and purified from the Schnee quarry!
Ruby: Uuuhhhh...
Weiss: What are you, brain-dead? (holding out a vial of red Dust and shutting the case) Dust! Fire, water, lightning, energy!
Rad and Sill stare at each other in annoyance before seeing Ruby looking a bit sneezey.
Ruby: I... I know... (starts coughing from the Dust pouring into her face)
Sill: Uh, Mrs. Schnee...
Weiss: In a moment Sill just talking to a person who doesn't understand dust. Are you even listening to me? Is any of this sinking in? What do you have to say for yourself?!
Ruby, who had been receiving more and more Dust to her face, finally sneezes, which erupts into a full-blown explosion of flame, snowflakes, and electricity right onto Weiss. The bottle she had been holding flies over the courtyard and at the feet of Blake Belladonna and Vi Tigger who picks it up and notices the Schnee Dust Company logo on the side as Blake who reads from a book look at the vile and looks over at the scene.
Weiss: (now covered in soot, though it quickly disappears) Unbelievable! This is exactly the kind of thing I was talking about!
Ruby: (apologetic and embarrassed) I'm really, really sorry!
Weiss: Ugh, you complete dolt! What are you even doing here? Aren't you a little young to be attending Beacon?
Ruby: Well, I-I...
Rad: (Angry at Weiss and stands in front of Ruby as she hides beind him.) She said she was sorry. Besides your the one who kept throwing dust in her face if anything you should say sorry.
Weiss: (Taken aback) Excuse me?! Why you–
Sill: (As he places a hand on her shoulder) Ma'am allow me.
Weiss: (Calms down) Fine. Sill if you please.
Sill: As my mistress is trying to say... This isn't your ordinary combat school. It's not just sparring and practice. We're here to fight monsters, so... watch where you're going.
Weiss: Thank you, Sill.
Sill: Ma'am. (Bows Respectfully)
Ruby: (finally fed up) Hey, I said I was sorry, princess!
Blake: (off screen, entering the conversation) It's heiress, actually. (Ruby and Weiss look over as Blake and Vi approaches with the bottle) Weiss Schnee, heiress to the Schnee Dust Company, one of the largest producers of energy propellant in the world.
Weiss: (smiling smugly) Finally! Some recognition!
Vi: The same company infamous for its controversial labor forces and questionable business partners.
Weiss: (getting angry again as Ruby and Rad chuckles) Wha- How dare- The nerve of... Ugh! (gets up in Blake's face and takes the bottle from her, walking off in a huff as Sill and her helpers gather the luggage and follow)
Ruby: (to the storming Weiss, still sorry) I promise I'll make this up to you! (sighs) I guess I'm not the only one having a rough first day... So, what's... (sees Blake and Vi walking off as well, then collapses to the ground on her back) Welcome to Beacon...
Rad then kneels before her and offers a hand before another shadow comes over her.
Jaune: (holding out his hand) Hey... I'm Jaune.
Ruby: (taking his and Rad's hand) Ruby. (stands up)
Rad: And I'm Rad. (recognizing him) Hey... Aren't you the guy that threw up on the ship?
Beacon
As we see inside the walls are filled with scenic trees, arching architecture, and a winding road alongside a river, down which Rad, Ruby and Jaune are walking.
Jaune: All I'm saying is that motion sickness is a much more common problem than people let on!
Ruby: (laughing) Look, I'm sorry! Vomit Boy was the first thing that came to mind.
Jaune: Oh, yeah? What if I called you Crater Face?
Ruby: Hey, that explosion was an accident!
Jaune: Well, the name's Jaune Arc! Short, sweet, rolls off the tongue - ladies love it!
Rad and Ruby: (skeptic) Do they?
Jaune: They will! Well, I-I hope they will. My mom always says that... Never mind.
Ruby: (giggles before a short, awkward silence falls) So... I got this thing! (she pulls out Crescent Rose and stabs it into the ground)
Jaune: Whoa! Is that a scythe?
Ruby: It's also a customizable high-impact sniper rifle!
Jaune: A-wha...?
Ruby: (cocks it, smiling) It's also a gun.
Rad: Here's mine. Buster Sword. A big longsword with a Sniper Riffle, but with more different gun variations.
Jaune: Oh. That's cool!
Ruby: So what've you got?
Rad: Yeah... What you got?
Jaune: Oh! I, uh... (unsheathes a blade) I got this sword!
Ruby: Ooooohh!
Jaune: Yeah, and I've got a shield, too! (he gets his scabbard, raises his arm and expands the metal into his defense)
Ruby: (touching the shield) So, what do they do?
Jaune: (fumbling with the shield as it retracts off his arm, expands, and retracts again before putting it back in place and finally shrinking it down for good, placing it on his belt) The shield gets smaller, so when I get tired of carrying it, I can just... put it away...
Ruby: But... wouldn't it weigh the same?
Jaune: (dejectedly) Yeah, it does...
Ruby: (giggling) Well, I'm kind of a dork when it comes to weapons, sooo... I guess I did go a little overboard when designing it.
Jaune: Wait - you made that?!
Ruby: Of course! All students at Signal forge their own weapons! Didn't you make yours?
Jaune: It's a hand-me-down. My great-great-grandfather used it to fight in the war.
Rad: Sounds more like a family heirloom to me!
Ruby: (laughs) Well, I like it! Not many people have an appreciation for the classics these days.
Jaune: (sheathing his sword) Yeah, the classics...
Ruby: (moving on again) So I know Rad would help me out but why'd you help me out back there? In the courtyard?
Jaune: (walking alongside her) Eh, why not? My mom always says, 'Strangers are just friends you haven't met yet.'
Ruby: Hmm. (looks around) Hey, where are we going?
Jaune: Oh, I don't know! I was following you two. Y-You think there might be a directory? Maybe a food court? Some sort of recognizable landmark? Is, uh... Is that a 'no'?
Ruby: (laughing) That's a 'no'.
