Authors Note:

So I stopped writing a couple years back after some deep personal struggles. I've been through a lot of high and lows the last few years.

I started writing on FanFictionover a decade ago and so many things have changed since then. I signed up on the incredible website all the way back in 2013 and have loved every moment despite life throwing its challenges at me.

I lost family to horrible circumstances and struggle with it every day, I have struggled with depression for nearly 5 years yet I have the most incredible partner in my life. I miss writing, it brings me peace but I put too much pressure on myself and burn out and disappear for months and years. But I am also an adult with responsibilities and commitments and writing hasn't been able to be my priority.

I wanted to be honest with everyone with where I've been the last few years. There's probably a few other questions I have to answer as well.

What's happening with my other stories? My other stories aren't abandoned but are on a hiatus right now. I've had quite a mental block with them and trying for force myself to write hasn't gotten anywhere. Cursed child and diamond eyes will be continued in the future, but at the moment this is the story I'll be prioritising.

So what is a Legend of Perseus? This is a crossover between Perseus Jackson and Avatar the Last Airbender. It's about a Percy who has been raised in the fire nation since his birth, and will primarily follow; him, Azula, Zuko, and Iroh over the course of the second and third seasons of the show. I plan to have it split over three books that will differ but also follow the main cannon. The story will eventually be Percy/ Azula but more of a slow burner.

Why a crossover? I've been inspired to write again thanks to some incredible works in this community, whilst it's small there's some great stories. I want to give each of these stories a shoutout because thanks to them I have a spark to write again.

Those stories are;

Percy Jackson & The Sapphire Flame by Silas-the-Sith-05

The Legend of Percy: Book 1 & 2 by LookingUpTheStars

Avatar: The Legend of Perseus by JkAlex

Carry on my Wayward Son by Greed720

Percy and the Princess by Benthatguy

I wanted to give each of them a shout out so they all can get recognition for their incredible works and for inspiring me to write again

Now that's all been done and sorted.

I hope you enjoy, Summary Below

The Son of Poseidon was never raised on earth. He grew up in the fire nation. The adopted son of a nobleman, he finds his calling protecting the jewel of the fire nation, Princess Azula. He ends up on a journey hunting traitors, conquering the earth kingdom, and chasing the avatar.

The Legend of Perseus: Bender of Oceans

Chapter 1: A Tapestry is Woven

Sally Jackson was writhing in agony. The pregnancy had been difficult enough as is. But carrying the son of a god who was already brimming with power even before birth had slowly destroyed her from the inside. She had resigned herself to such a possible fate early on in her pregnancy. She knew the oath her love had taken. She understood the severity of breaking such a promise, and was more than aware how powerful the oath keeper was truly capable of being.

She was dying. Sally could feel herself withering away in the cold sterile room. The overpowering white lights blinding her. Drugs rampaging through her body, attempting to relieve the pain but brought nothing but liquid fire pumping through her veins.

Every slower, weakened breath Sally could feel herself deteriorate further. She lost understanding of the panicked doctors and nurses long ago. The pain was too loud.

Her vision was slowly darkening. Fuzzy spots danced in her sight and the chasm of death was threatening to swallow her. She pushed one last time with every last ounce fiber in her being. She succumbed to the darkness, but not before hearing the faintest of cries from her born. She may have been passing away, but she was at peace knowing her son had lived.

As the light in her eyes died a figure watched on broken hearted. Invisible to the hospital staff all around him. He was a man tall in stature and regal in feature. He had dark hair, and sun kissed skin. The man's emerald green eyes were a maelstrom of emotions, ever changing like a storm at sea. He had seen his lover die, and he was unable to do anything to help her or their son lest the god face the wrath of the oathbreaker or his brother.

An overwhelming heartbreak flooded the man and before he could conjure a storm to release his emotions a voice whispered stealing his attention,

"You can still save him from the inevitable."

"Who are you and what are you doing here." The god demanded.

"Poseidon I am Ananke, mother to the Moirai." The serene voice answered.

"I wish to save your son from their cursed tapestries." Ananke continued

"Forgive me my lady, but that is impossible-" Poseidon started but was quickly integrated.

"It is not. There is much to our universe that doesn't meet the eye. But there is a way for your son to escape the hero's fate that he is destined for." Ananke's voice was soft like a whisper in the wind.

"My lady I don't understand. How can my son escape the great prophecy." Poseidon questioned. Confusion expressed on his features.

"There is another world. Similar to us but different. It is across dimension, outwith the control of my daughters weavings. They have no control there. This world is in desperate need of a hero, one of good nature who will help bring balance to the world. Your son can be that person." Ananke began to explain.

"My lady. I will not abandon my son to be a hero in another world where I can't protect him-"

"Don't interrupt me, Poseidon." Ananke hissed. The pressure in the room began to rise.

"You can't protect your son from my daughters or the oathkeeper. Your son's destiny is already determined for him. A life of misery, pain, suffering, heartbreak and death. You know the prophecy."

Poseidons head bowed down with guilt, the oracles words echoed in his mind.

"My daughters are cruel to their playthings. The tapestries they weave for him are their most torturous yet. But they have no control of this land. He can grow up free from the prophecy, outwith the control and in charge of his own destiny." Ananke spoke with a calm authority.

Poseidon remained silent. The possibility of defying fate… they had already taken the women he loved. The god of the seas did not want them to take his son from him as well. The king of the seas sighed. The ability to protect his son from the fates themselves weighed on his mind.

"How can you be so sure he'll be free from them?" Poseidon pressed.

"This is a world that is under my watchful eyes. I gifted them free will eons ago. I hated my daughters ideals, so I wanted to show them that mortals should be capable of making their own choices. Fate and destiny have funny ways of working, they do not need to be predetermined."

The goddess paused. Poseidon was silently listening, entrapped in Anankes words.

"He will have a journey in his life. There will be trials and tribulations but I can already tell that he will be more than capable for what would await him. I can foresee him growing old, finding love, passing on his legacy. None of that is planned for him by the Moirai. It will be difficult, but at least he will be free."

Poseidon considered the words heavily.

"Would I ever get to see him again?" His voice was quiet.

"It is possible, but not guaranteed. There are places with great spirituality across this world. Places that can even transcend dimensions for even the briefest of moments." Ananke answered, her eyes focusing on the son of Poseidon.

His son could live a full life. A life that no hero's ever got to enjoy. Perseus could be happy. He could be free.

"Tel me about this world." Poseidon relented. His heart had been shattered. The only thing providing him with worth was the embers of hope that his son could escape the prophecy.

"The world is split into four different nations, based on the four fundamental elements, Earth, Water, Fire, and Air. The Earth nation are a hardy people, with the ability to control the earth itself. The water nations live at the poles, and are a resourceful people who can control water. The fire nation are proud and technological people, they have control over fire. The air nomads are spiritual people, who bring no harm to those around them and are in tune with nature. They have been gifted with power over air."

The goddess paused, staring at Poseidon with piercing eyes.

"The person who brings balance to this world by being the only one capable of mastering all the enemies has long disappeared. The world has been perilously tipping to the depths of chaos. Your son will be powerful. He will be more than capable for what would await him. He can help bring peace."

"My son, where will he live?" Poseidon enquired, worry evident on his face.

"I am unable to give you that answer just yet, Posiedon. Your son can do incredible things for this world. He will be more capable than any elemental Bender that walks. But you must give him your blessing to cross the rift."

'My lady-"

"Poseidon, we are running out of time, make a decision." Ananke demanded.

"Perseus I give you my blessing to make this journey. You are the son of the oceans, bringer of storms, and the earth shaker." Tears fell from his emerald green eyes. An ocean blue glow blazed from his hands and embraced his son. The baby flowed brightly. An ocean blue and green aura radiated from the child.

"I give you my full blessing son. You will be the greatest son I ever had. More powerful than any could know." Tears fell on the cold ground beneath him

He blinked hurriedly and as his vision cleared the goddess and his son had vanished. The mortals moved on as nothing had happened, Sally had started being wheeled out of the room. He lost two people he loved today and his grief began to weigh on him like the entire ocean was dropped upon him.

With Ananke in Tartarus

The Goddess held the newborn in her arms. He was wrapped in cloth and she held him close in the toxic wastelands of Tartarus. She stood at the steps of an Ancient Arch. One that was capable of transcending dimensions. She gazed at the newborn and could feel the swathes of power that were bundled in the embodiment of innocence.

"I do not know how powerful you are truly capable of being Perseus. But I know you will change the world for good." Ananke murmured to herself

She took a moment to write a note explaining the child and his ability to bend water. She knew where she was planning to drop him off. Her dreams foretold her the chain of events that would need to occur if the world was to find peace.

She would place him in the care of a noble and honorable swordmaster. One who could teach Percy honour and morality in the true ways of a warrior

Ananke just could not allow Poseidon to know his son would not be raised with water bending kin. The god of the seas would have been far more hesitate if she explained anything further…

The rift cracked open and the Goddess rushed to set the newborn through, taking him to a whole new world.

Shu Jing (82 AG)

A brilliant ornate castle stood upon a rocky cliff face overlooking the swirling ocean below. Its white stone glimmered in the moonlight and the wind stood quietly still. A nobleman in silk robes and his attendant walked the grounds of the magnificent castle, an easy quiet between them as they wandered.

The peace was broken as they came upon the view of one of the cliff edges. A newborn baby wrapped in white cloth had let go off the tiniest cry that that grasped the nobleman's attention.

"Master there's a child?' The butler questioned in confusion.

The nobleman walked over and gently lifted the newborn. He could sense that the child had great power. There was an aura that seemed to encapsulate the baby.

"There's a note…" the Nobleman whispered. 'The boy is called Perseus, his mother died in childbirth. He is a water bender, a son of the ocean. He has great potential and can bring balance to the four nations. Please take care of Perseus, raise him as your own, the world needs him…' He read silently in his mind.

'Fat let's bring the boy inside."

Authors Note:

So that's chapter 1. I hope yous enjoyed, I'm really excited to be writing again. Please share your thoughts in the review, you'll never know how much they mean to me.

Authors Note 2:

I've actually went through and edited this chapter in a few areas. This chapter was initially around 1700 words but now sits at roughly 2200. I primarily tidied up the conversation between Ananke and Poseidon. Just so I felt a bit more authentic and real. If you're reading this and read the original as well when then I hope you enjoyed.

Take care folks.
