Disclaimer: Btw if you couldn't tell, I don't own Naruto.
Chapter 1
A/N: "This is very exciting. I am beginning a new journey of discovery and starting my first fanfic. It will probably pale in comparison to the better ones, but everyone's gotta start somewhere, so I don't want to waste your time. Let's begin!"
In the hidden village of the Leaf, Naruto finds himself caught in a mysterious and powerful jutsu—a swirling vortex of potent chakra sends him to a strangely familiar place. As Naruto wakes up in his bed, he's covered in a cold sweat, convinced it was just a dream, but reality proves him very wrong.
Naruto mumbles to himself, "Must've been a strong headache from all that damn paperwork." He walks to the bathroom to brush his teeth when he suddenly notices that he is in his old body. Shocked, he realizes he won't see his son or daughter for years, or perhaps ever again.
However, Naruto's excitement turns Sour as he realizes that his chakra reserves are not what they used to be, and he can only perform the first two stages of the Rasengan. Frustrated, he remembers that contacting Kurama is not an option at the moment due to the seal's formidable strength, and he hasn't had the opportunity to meditate and strengthen their connection.

At the academy
Naruto feels heavy waves of nostalgia just walking into the place he graduated from, and while walking in, he sees his old friends and thinks about how they became fine shinobi in the future. While examining the class, his eyes stumble on a certain Hyuga girl. Going to sit near her, he notices as his future wife turns a dark shade of red. Wanting to tease his former wife, he says, "Hey Hinata, you seem to have a fever" in a fake concerned voice.
Not wanting to pass out, she quickly stutters out, "N-no Naruto-kun, I-I'm feeling alright." Naruto, seeing how shy his future wife is, has a huge grin. He is about to reply, but Iruka comes in and yells, "ALRIGHT EVERYONE, TAKE A SEAT AND BE QUIET." Everyone rushes to their seat and sits as today is the day they become genin. Then, two loud screaming girls come rushing in, saying in unison, "I CAME IN FIRST." The pink-haired girl rushes to sit next to the Uchiha. "Sasuke-kun, can I sit next to you?" she says with a blush. The emo doesn't reply, just sighs, and she takes it as a yes. Naruto gets flashbacks to when he kissed Sasuke on this day, and a shiver runs down his spine.
Iruka deadpans but continues, "Today, you all graduate and take a new step in your life as shinobi." "You were one of my favorite classes I ever had, and it's sad to see all of you go after the four years we spent together." After listening to Iruka's monologue for the 2nd time, Naruto prepares for the written test. After the test, they announce they move on to the Shuriken test, where Sasuke gets a 7/8 on the targets, having the best score. All his fangirls cheer him on, and up is Naruto, who gets an 8/8. All the fangirls are outraged, saying "he cheated, it's rigged! How could the dead last get a better score than our Sasuke-kun?"
Naruto couldn't help but notice the hint of shock on Sasuke's face upon seeing him achieve a perfect score. Shikamaru chimed in, as usual, with his casual remark about "troublesome blondes." Naruto chuckled at hearing that, reflecting on how Shikamaru's personality remained unchanged over the years.
As they waited for the others to complete their tests, Naruto's mind raced with thoughts of changing the future for the better. Saving Sasuke from Orochimaru was at the top of his list of priorities, but he questioned whether it was the right thing to do. He pondered if Sasuke's power would be the same if he didn't go to Orochimaru, considering how it had helped him grow in ways that staying in the village couldn't. Naruto contemplated whether preventing Sasuke from obtaining the curse mark would hinder his growth or protect him from danger.
Deep in thought, Iruka's voice broke the silence, calling everyone to spar. First up was Kiba versus Shino. Iruka reminded them that they were not allowed to use ninjutsu unless the other person agreed. Kiba, with a hint of arrogance, blurted out, "Let's use ninjutsu! I'm so confident I won't even need my dog." Iruka nodded, signaling the start of the match.
shino takes a step forward, his stoic expression unwavering, as he opens his sleeves to unleash a swarm of his loyal insect companions. The buzzing swarm encircles him, forming a defensive barrier, ready to protect him at any cost. Kiba smirks, unshaken by the display of bugs, and confidently assumes a stance, his faithful canine companion, Akamaru, by his side.
With a sudden burst of speed, Kiba charges at Shino, his body moving with the grace of a wolf on the hunt. Shino, in response, remains calm, anticipating Kiba's moves. As Kiba attempts to deliver a powerful punch, Shino's insects intercept, using their tiny bodies to disorient and block the attack.
Not one to be deterred, Kiba switches tactics, aiming a series of rapid kicks at Shino's midsection. Shino's agility surprises Kiba as he skillfully dodges each kick, moving with an almost unnatural fluidity. The insects swirling around Shino seem to guide his movements, granting him a unique advantage in the fight.
Seeing an opening, Shino seizes the opportunity and counters with a swift punch. Kiba manages to evade, but Shino's precision keeps him on his toes. The two young shinobi continue to exchange blows, their movements becoming a mesmerizing dance of offense and defense.
Akamaru barks excitedly from the sidelines, urging Kiba on, while Shino's insects hum in response to their master's commands. The atmosphere is charged with anticipation as the fight intensifies.
Kiba decides to amplify his strength by activating his clan's signature technique, "Four Legs Technique," allowing him to move with even greater speed and power. The ground beneath him trembles as he darts forward, delivering a barrage of punches and kicks, aiming to catch Shino off guard.
Shino remains unfazed, utilizing his strategic mind and coordination with his insects to defend against Kiba's relentless assault. The fight reaches its climax as they both put every ounce of strength into their attacks, the air crackling with energy.
In a final display of taijutsu prowess, Shino manages to land a well-timed strike, sending Kiba staggering back kiba drops to the floor as he unknowingly had bugs draining his chakra.
Iruka notices that he can no longer continue so he stops the match and declares shino the victor. Naruto makes a mental note not to mess with shino and his bugs. As shino sits everyone has a weird instinct to scratch making sure they don't have bugs on them. Many more fights go on but then for the last fight Naruto and sasuke turn to have a go.
Naruto emerges with a strange and confident pose, one that nobody has ever seen before. Sasuke can't help but comment, "Dobe, a new stance won't change the fact that you're going to lose to me." Naruto retorts with unwavering determination, "I won't even break a sweat taking you down, teme."
Demonstrating his skills, Naruto even boasts, "I could beat you with one leg and one eye closed." The match begins, and with blinding speed, Naruto charges at Sasuke, pushing him back three meters with a powerful attack.
Sasuke is surprised at Naruto's newfound strength and wonders when the dobe got so strong. As the fight continues, Naruto blocks all of Sasuke's attacks flawlessly, leaving the Uchiha frustrated. The crowd watches in awe as Naruto's speed and skills outmatch even Iruka's expectations.
Hinata can't help but blush as she witnesses her crush performing remarkably against Sasuke. On the other hand, Sakura and the other fangirls are outraged that the once-dismissed dead last is now dominating the fight.
Sasuke, determined not to be outdone, launches a Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu at Naruto. Expecting an easy victory, Sasuke is shocked when Naruto stands unfazed and then knocks him out of the ring with a powerful kick.
Iruka declares Naruto the winner, and everyone is left in awe, contemplating how Naruto could have become so strong. Some even wonder if he had been hiding his true strength all along.
As the final part of the test approaches, Naruto faces a tough decision. He contemplates whether to fail on purpose to stop Mizuki's plans. In the end, he decides to fail intentionally, stealing the forbidden scroll just as he did in his past.
Alone in the forest, Naruto looks at the scroll and ponders, "I should learn my father's jutsu." Realizing he needs to practice fuinjutsu first, he decides to dedicate himself to mastering the necessary skills.
Mizuki enters the forest, and Naruto plays dumb, pretending to be naive about the scroll, asking, "I got the scroll, so does that mean I pass?" Mizuki gives him an evil grin, replying, "No! I lied to you! A demon brat like you could never pass!"
In a flash of rage, Mizuki launches the demon wind shuriken at Naruto. But with remarkable agility, Naruto swiftly dodges and retorts, "Mizuki, your time is up, traitor!" In an instant, Naruto creates 200 shadow clones, surrounding Mizuki, and proceeds to deliver a decisive beating, overwhelming him.
As Iruka arrives at the scene, he pieces everything together, understanding Naruto's heroic actions. He looks at Naruto with pride, his trust in the young ninja reaffirmed. Iruka urges Naruto to close his eyes, and a moment later, Naruto feels something new on his forehead. He knows what it is without looking—a hitai-ate, symbolizing his status as an official ninja of the Hidden Leaf Village.
Overwhelmed with emotion, Naruto hugs Iruka tightly, expressing his gratitude. "Thank you, Iruka-sensei," he says. Iruka smiles warmly and replies, "You're welcome, Naruto. After this is done, we should celebrate with some ramen."
Naruto jumps with joy, feeling the immense impact of the changes he has already initiated. In this altered timeline, Iruka has not suffered any harm, and Naruto's heart swells with hope for the future. Determined to continue making positive changes, Naruto knows that his journey as a time-traveling ninja is just beginning, and he is ready to face any challenges that come his way. With newfound strength, allies, and a heart full of resolve, Naruto embraces his destiny, setting forth on a path to protect his village, forge unbreakable bonds, and become the Hokage he always dreamed of being.
