AN: Canon divergence and I change some things in the Mikaelson background and Kol is a reincarnation as well which gives a more in-depth background to the Mikaelson witch side of the family other than just being stated firstborn are powerful. The first vision had the blue green tint and Dafni was standing with Death in the ruins of the temple she lived in before death spoke noticing her mood. "You've done well at not looking for him, my dear, I know you are not pleased with the time length of the separation, but his deal needed to be challenging enough to earn what he asked for. It also allows for me to finish healing your soul without it trying to reach out to its other half while healing. You know as well as I that when life and I sent you back when were not able to heal all the damage the witch did to you in the sacrifice which was why you two were unable to recognize each other fully in that life. It was only when you both died him only a few months after you that your souls began to reach out to each other and even then, the damage was still enough that you could not bond in his anger about not being able to protect his other half he made a deal to be allowed to be strong enough to protect you from all threats." Dafni hummed in agreement before her vision changed to her standing in the forest of forks just before being reincarnated. Death appeared next to her "It's time my dear and he as completed his task, remember you will have more visions of him the closer you come to meeting him it will no doubt be interesting in all that he's been up to over the years your Viking is if nothing else entertaining in his rage." She then woke from her sleep, grabbing her journal she wrote down her visions with a smile glad to have it confirmation about Kol being who she wished to see and was glad to help his family it also explained why Niklaus and Elijah were quick to believe her she wondered what he had told them over the years to get that reaction.
Changing into a pair of boyfriend jeans with holes in the knees and a tank top along with her dark green hoodie which said property of Delphi on it that Damon had made for her during their trip to Greece. Pulling her hair into a high ponytail she slipped on a pair of Black converses and made sure to put her journal in her leather satchel along with her laptop and keys since it doubled as her purse most days and she was going to get at least some class work done while helping the brother today.
She met Damon at the door, and he handed her a breakfast sandwich which she began eating as he slipped a travel mug with blood into her satchel for her to drink later when she got thirsty. Taking the last bite of the sandwich they ran towards the bridge seeing the smoke as they got closer. Bella leaned against the car and watched Damon wander off to the side towards where Bella could see magic being done by Maddox. Elijah tossed a piece of the sign on to the bridge and walked back to join Bella at watching Klaus's finishing burning the bridge and sign. "Maddox found a spell that would make sure all the ash would dissolve in the river so there's no chance of anyone getting their hands on the ash from the sign or bridge. When Maddox confirmed the white oak was complete burned and the only thing now burning was the regular wood the three joined them in the car as they were driving back through the town the fire department was finally responding to the call about the bridge fire. Damon wheedled it out of Klaus on how they managed to do that just as they pulled into the drive of the house.
Bella could hear the workers running around upstairs finishing the projects and moving on to others so that tomorrow they could move the remaining furniture to the rooms. They headed to the library it two stories in height and the second story had a walk away all around the room with an open ceiling that allowed for Bella to tell that they created a loft on the right side where the attic used to be it was sealed by a wall on the left so Bella bet that would be where they placed the things they've collected over the years. There was a spiral staircase connecting the loft to the second story walkway and the first floor of the library. The first floor had all the shelves filled with books and Bella could see it was mostly the non-fiction and history books which meant the second story would hold all the fiction and judging some of the magic she could see coming from some of the books its where they hide the grimoire from humans who did not know who they were. Bella heard Damon mutter about setting Bella's standards for libraries from now on and gave Klaus a sarcastic thanks for that and praying she would not renovate the one at the boarding house. Sitting down in one of the armchairs next to a table that had clearly been set up for planning judging by the two grimoire sitting on it open to the spell Maddox performed at the bridge with one looking newer Bella figured that was his personal grimoire.
Klaus, Damon and Maddox stood around the table placing down maps of the area they were working on, and Elijah chose to sit in the chair next to Bella with a leather portfolio that held the blueprints of the mansion he was finishing on so the movers would nowhere the remaining furniture and belongings went. Bella could see that the loft on the third floor of the library was labeled Kol's study/room and there were four others hidden throughout labeled studies /rooms of choice for each sibling along with a gym in the basement along with holding cells and a wine cellar in between them.
An hour later Bella had completed what she could for the day on her coarse work and was swinging her beads watching the three at the table. She noted that Elijah had also finished what he was doing and as he walked back in from handing the plans off to the mover in charge he smirked before sitting beside her again. Damon was having fun giving Klaus's scenarios for his paranoia to work through as he too waited for Klaus and Maddox to remember they had a seer that they could ask for some of the details they were struggling with. Maddox working on the magic part of what would be keeping Mikael entombed and any surprises the witch might have left for intruders. Elijah decided on reminding them in a roundabout way of her presence by speaking with her.
"When Katerina brought you to our attention all those years ago, then meeting you after your turning, it was easier to place some of Kol's muttering or comments over the centuries into context." Bella watched as Maddox huffed before looking at Bella and tilting his head. Changing the swing of her beads with a giggle, Bella waited for him to ask a question he was stuck on.
"Who was the witch that desiccated Mikael and where was she now?"
Bella's vision swirled before her powers washed over her and she was standing in a park in Mystic Falls next to six-year-old Elena and Bonnie. When Mikael appeared near the tree line glaring at the young doppelganger. Bonnie noticed him first and got scared of his glare and screamed which had their mothers come running. Bonnie's mom looked to where Bonnie had been facing as she screamed and spotted him before he flashed away. She then saw the woman again sneaking out of the house while the others slept and casting magic to lure Mikael to her the chase ending in the cemetery in which he rests now and ends in him being Desiccated. The woman tried to cast more spells around the tomb but found that she couldn't, so she took to visiting the tomb every day. Bella then saw a new marriage certificate and adoption paperwork with the name Abigail Bennett Wilson as her new name and that she lived nearby but likely did not have her powers at present. When she came to Maddox thanked her before they adjusted their plans now knowing the only magic, they would have to contend with is the desiccation magic and making sure not to undo the magic when staking Mikael. Maddox even proposed inscribing runes into the tomb walls to keep up the illusion he was still there so that it took others awhile to figure out he was dead until after they were ready for them to know.
As Bella wrote down the visions in her journal, she overheard Elijah asking what she and Damon would be doing tomorrow and before Damon could answer Bella felt another wave wash over her and saw the secretary of her school, Dianne Freeman, sitting down at her desk pouring something into a cup of coffee before handing it Bella professor she had for class the next day. Then it changed to see Dianne on the phone asking if Professor Maxfield would be able to sub for that class that day as she had volunteered to find a sub for the professor at the last minute since the class could not be cancelled since there was a test that class. Her vision swirled before it showed her sitting on the floor of a cell with Enzo mirroring her position on the other side of the wall. When she came back, she had the attention of all three smiling at them sheepishly, Bella muttered well he asked.
Damon gave a dry pained chuckle before looking at the others and asking if they wanted to take out some scientist at Bella's college while waiting for the siblings to awaken seeing as how the scientist decided that experimentation on vampires for "science" was a good past time. Elijah was studying his movement and tone before saying there was more to it, but he would be okay with awakening his siblings while Klaus got out some of his nerves for waking them, even knowing his siblings were going to be angry, on the men dumb enough to steal Bella. Klaus muttered it better him than Kol who was not going to be happy if she gets hurt from his reaction to insults laid at her feet in his presence were anything to go by, they would be nicer deaths if handled by Damon and himself.
Maddox was brought in when he asked what they were going to do with the computers because just burning them would not eliminate the files if they stored them on a cloud of some kind and have other locations they can be accessed from. Klaus muttered Kol could take his anger out on any other sights with Damon chiming in that he would be happy for the company. Elijah was the one to ask how they would find where she is being held and Bella chimed in that she could guide them to the building or give them the name of the building though if they know about vampires then the building is most likely under one of their names to make sure vampires must be invited inside.
That night as she slept her first vision was of her as Dafni and five months pregnant and greeting her Husband Bemus at the door as he introduced her to one of his friends that was here for a while for trade. Since they were staying at the coastal cities with his family, for her pregnancy so that no one can claim one of Delphi priestesses being pregnant. His name was Asger, and he was amused by the turn of events since he was one of the few that knew Bemus preferred men though when it was explained about the deal for an heir and the money for the temple. He understood and explained that he would be staying with them for five months as his own family prepared for his engagement and this was his chance to explore before doing his duty to his family. Her vision then swirled to show Dafni standing at the docks holding her daughter and receiving a kiss on the forehead with Bemus and his male Paramour blocking the view as they said goodbye. The vision then changed again to her seeing a green blue tint as she greeted his spirit in his family's ancestral plane a few months after her own death, his grandmother choosing to separate their reunion by asking how she came to be in their family plane if she was not family even by marriage, which allowed for death to show himself and the explanations to begin.
Bella woke from her sleep and wrote down her three visions before giving a smile to herself knowing she was much closer to seeing Kol awake and alive. Deciding to distract herself for the next couple of hours until class Bella changed into a black tank top and a pair of high waisted grey skinny jeans and her brown leather combat boots. She pulled her hair into a French braid before moving to pack a duffle bag for the next three days having already been informed by Elijah that she would be staying at least that with them, she missed the mutter that if Kol got his way, she would move in. She also grabbed the two Petrova grimoires and placed them in the bag along with her journal not wanting it to be in her leather satchel but knowing she was going to need it later.
Drinking a blood bag Bella giggled out loud as she heard Stefan on the phone with Zack trying to convince him to place the boarding house in Elena's name and getting nowhere. Hearing her giggle caused him to huff and leave to go complain to Elena about not getting his way with the other members of the family for her safety. Grabbing both the duffel bag and her messenger bag she put them in her truck and headed off to her class for the day. She makes it through the class without reacting to Wes being the sub for the class, and as she hands in her test she's asked to stay behind because Dianne has a question for her once the others leave.
As the classroom clears out Bella heads to the back of the class with her satchel on her shoulder where she sees Dianne facing the office door that was open Bella could hear the heartbeat in the office speed up as she got closer and tried not to roll her eyes. If she wasn't allowing them to spring their trap on purpose so she could get to Enzo faster all three would be dead already. She acted like she was considering the question Dianne had asked about her online classes and did not in fact hear the person sneaking up on her. She felt a pinch in her shoulder then a burning sensation of vervain as it entered her blood stream. Dropping to the ground Bella was not completely knocked out as they worked together to get her down the back stairwell and into the other building only pausing to invite her inside.
Contacting Damon with her telepathy worked and she filled him on the building and that he would have to be invited in by most likely Dianne since she would be the easiest one to find but they would have to work around the vervain in her system. They dragged her through the last locked doors and past Enzo in his cell she made eye contact and Bella watched his eyes widen before he went back to acting like he hadn't noticed them walk past. They tossed her face down in the cell and Bella warned Damon that a few cells down held a human that was going through the transition into a cold one. Bella laid where they dropped her until she heard one pair of foots steps head back to the door saying he needed to be seen for one more hour before he could have a go at the girl. He reminded the guy to check her laptop as he headed out the doors once she heard the mechanical lock engage behind his retreating footsteps Bella very slowly moved to lean against the wall making a show for the guy who had just pulled her laptop out of her bag and was opening it up next to the other computers.
Hooding her eyes Bella giggled in her head knowing the man would never get past her password as it was in ancient Greek and the hint was a trick. Bella sent one last thought to Damon saying that Maddox could access her computer when he got here to hack into the ones that were downstairs since they were right next to her laptop. Hearing Enzo speak in a voice that only she could hear, "You look like someone I know."
"Uncle Damon talks about you once he realized you weren't dead, in fact I let myself be taken since it was the fast way to get to you and not have them move somewhere else when we realized my professor last semester was a scientist. Give it an hour and you'll get to see him again and this time you're not being left behind. We have made some interesting friends these last few months, I think you're going to be impressed with them when you get to meet them officially the next few days."
She heard him hiss out a laugh at her statement before noticing the male getting aggravated and slamming her computer shut before muttering about asking her about how to get in after Wes is done with her. Bella's vision blurred and she saw a stake being slammed into Mikael's heart and his body being consumed by flames before it changed to seeing Elijah being the one left behind after using a small handheld vacuum to collect the ashes. Her vision slammed back into focus as she was shot with a dart through the bars to put more vervain in her system. Before she was pulled out of her cell and laid down on the table. Bella could tell they were used to working with Vampires that couldn't fight back completely because the straps on her waist and legs were just leather though the ones on her wrist were metal with vervain, she could still break them even if it wouldn't be easily.
Wes came into her view, and she could see Enzo and the door from her table as he prepared the syringe, he was going to use on her. Bella had learned even in his class he loved to hear himself talk so she figured there would be no different here. "Victoria must really hate you to want us to use it on you when she brought you to our attention. Just a few days ago we decided to test it on Jesse over there in the cell I'm excited to see what happens in the next few hours we figured if it works on vampires for that long it should be the same for humans." As he walked around her with the syringe in hand and put the table into a standing position Bella could here doors being broken with a smirk, she also noticed Jesse's screaming had stopped which means they had a few minutes before the newborn decided he wanted out and wanted the blood that was nearby.
"We have tested this on Enzo already and I want to see what would happen if it was injected into the spinal cord so its your lucky day." Bella hissed as the needle slid into place and chuckled as she heard the next set of doors breaking, which caught Wes's attention too. Quickly injecting her with it and pulling out the needle Wes moved around to face her and grabbed her face and demanded to know how she contacted anyone they had her phone and laptop. Head butting him in the head as her answer Bella watched him stagger back to the table smelling blood at the same time the newborn did Bella began working on freeing herself.
At the same time the final door was broken off its hinges and the newborn ripped the cell door off before throwing it at the wall across from his cell and destroying the shelves holding some papers. The other three "scientist" who had been on her left closest to the newborn began to try and scrabble away only for one to be grabbed by said newborn who ripped into his neck undeterred by the vervain in their system. Bella was sprayed with blood as she worked to get her wrist free, noting that Wes was being dragged by his hair towards Enzo's cell by Damon. Klaus had paused the other two scientist from going past her with a simple grin before throwing one backwards this caught the newborn's attention and he decided he wanted to fight Klaus for the blood in their bodies Bella finally managing to get free grabbed the other scientist who had fallen to the floor and was trying to crab walk towards the door. Looking over at Maddox Bella nodded in thanks as she saw he had slipped her laptop into her bag and had it on his shoulder as he removed the hard drives from the computers and grabbed the other two laptops that were also sitting on the table.
Bella turned back and watched Klaus's work noting that he was playing with the newborn before deciding to see if drinking blood would help with the sensation going through her body. Tearing into the man's throat, Bella could feel the warm liquid flowing down her chin as she had taken two sips before throwing the body to the floor next to the one the newborn had dropped when distracted by Klaus. Grabbing the table Bella felt the liquid fire sensation that was traveling up and down her spine transfer to her stomach and up heaved the blood she just drank.
Looking up Bella noticed Maddox had moved to the doorway and that Damon and Enzo were having fun throwing things off the shelves in Enzo's case and spreading gasoline. Hearing a metal shredding noise Bella watched as Klaus removed the newborns head and cucked to too the two bodies moving towards him Bella began helping him tear off limbs and tossing them into the pile along with the torso, just as Damon began pouring gasoline on them too.
The liquid fire sensation that Bella noticed was replaced by and burning cold sensation with a feeling she could only place as electricity being shot through her spin took its place. She was scooped up into a bridal carry by Klaus and just as the four of them passed Maddox set fire to the room he was grabbed, and they were by their cars just as they heard a boom coming from the building direction like a bomb had gone off. Which with how much gasoline had been used might as well have been the case. Damon had slipped a daylight ring on to Enzo's finger and Bella could tell because it was on the hand he was using to pull Damon into a kiss against her truck. Maddox rolled his eyes at the two before grabbing her duffle bag out of her truck for her and tossing her keys into the driver's seat.
Bella was placed in the passenger seat of Klaus's car and as Klaus climbed into the driver's seat, he shouted for the two to get a room. Bella wiggled her fingers goodbye at them as Maddox chuckled from the backseat that she and Damon were related having seen him wave like that to his brother.
