Hello everyone . . . So, I have a big and saddening announcement to make…

After much thought and consideration, I've made a difficult decision: I'm discontinuing this story.

I'm sorry for doing it, especially so suddenly, and I know I had said I was going to finish this fic multiple times in the past, but I feel like I lost the 'connection' I had with it.

What I mean by this is that, in the past, even when I didn't feel that motivated to write a new chapter of this fic, I still wanted to continue the story and finish it. Except… I don't feel like that anymore (and that's what I meant by the 'connection' being lost)

These last two chapters were written because I felt obligated to write it, rather than a genuine desire to continue it. As a result, the writing experience became less enjoyable, and the quality suffered.

I know I could try to get that 'connection' back (because I've done that with this fic in the past), but I think I found a middle ground that benefits everyon (and besides, almost all the main plot points were resolved and written already lol).

Now, let me describe what I had planned for the remaining chapters:

The next chapter starts with everyone going into 'full panic mode' (this happens right after Tails gets captured and knocked out), Sonic and Knuckles try to catch Metal but, since he can fly (almost matching Sonic's speed), he runs away before any of them catches on.

Everyone feels guilty about it, especially Longclaw and Knuckles. Since they are warriors, they feel responsible for not being attentive enough. Otherwise, maybe, Tails wouldn't have been a prisoner of Agent Stone.

This also makes the whole family discuss their concerns about what Stone might do to Tails (Yes, i like traumatizing 8 year old kids! How could you tell?)

Thankfully, there was a light at the end of the tunnel. They receive a location notification from Tails' watch—an hour later, they discover he's in a random place in Portugal. Stone had traveled to a secret base that Eggman acquired before they even knew about Sonic's existence, where he finished creating Metal.

Meanwhile Tails, after having a nightmare (about the situation he was in) accompanied by a lot of guilt (poor baby 😭😭) by improving Metal (first assignment) and making all kinds of tech, tries to run away-

Unfortunately, it doesn't work… and he gets tortured a bit by Stone and Metal (I'm so sorry 😭😭 (not really))

Knowing where Tails was, they were quick to make a plan. With a lot of convincing from Longclaw, she was going to fly to Portugal with everyone (but with a lot of breaks, since her wings hadn't fully healed)

They eventually reach the secret base, and a huge fight erupts. After everyone fights (even Tom and Maddie… kind of), Tails ends up getting knocked out and they think he died- but he didn't! (which makes for an incredibly emotional moment).

Agent Stone seemingly "dies" (spoiler alert, he doesn't). Metal Sonic gets destroyed.

After the whole family talks about everything that has happened (including therapy!), the fic ends with Longclaw accepting and becoming part of the family and the boys going to therapy (they need it, especially Tails 😭😭).

So… I hope this will be enough to make up for not finishing this fic :) Of course there would be more details, when the fics were written themselves, but this is the gist of it.

I just have a lot on my plate… with school responsibilities, personal responsibilities, religious responsibilities (I'm a Jehovah's Witness btw), and still finding some time in between to enjoy myself and relax, I decided to finish the fic like this :)
