Before this chapter starts, I want to quickly mention that this story is rated T for teen which means it can deal with some serious topics. You don't like it? Just move on. I can moderate each review you send. I don't like deleting reviews and I allow constructive criticism. And by that, I mean actual well explained (and with respect) criticism. Telling people to kill themselves does not fall under constructive criticism and is also not very nice XD. Thanks for reading that text, now you can go back to enjoying the chapters. Ps, let me know what you think in reviews, I always love tips and tops as long as it's said with respect. God loves you all, Hessatje out.
The sun had risen. The sunshine's had lit up the plains and were warming up the entire savannah and the world around it. Simba was sat on pride rock with Nala right beside him. Rafiki stood in front of them informing the fellow pride-landers of what they knew so far, though there wasn't much to say apart from the Kion is hurt but will be okay part. Kiara stood further behind she had been watching the meet up. She now quickly decided she had had enough, going down pride rock and wondering through the grasslands. The quiet was nice after all the chaos of last night. Everyone and everything, was in chaos. Kiara couldn't blame them though; her head could be defined as chaos itself. So many conflicting emotions and thoughts raced through her mind. Kiara saw an innocent stick laying on the savannah ground. She grabbed it with her mouth. Grabbed a lot of strength out of the anger within her and yeeted the stick far away with the swing of her head. It was a nice way to get some anger out; but didn't stop the wondering thoughts. Was it really the outsiders who did this? Why did no one tell Kion about the outsiders. And most importantly, was Kovu involved in it? If so, Kiara would never forgive him. Seeing her younger brother lay there in pride rock, looking so, defeated. If this is the work of the outsiders, Kiara would set that feeling she used to have for Kovu free. Because no one should touch her little brother. Kiara turned back towards pride rock. She didn't want to leave her brother's side for long. The wait for him to regain consciousness seemed to take forever, though Rafiki said it could take him a day or two. It was taking a toll on everyone, because he was the only key to knowing what truly happened out there.
As Kiara returned Simba came down pride rock, first time he'd done so since yesterday.
'Any news?' Kiara asked, not expecting much.
'No, not yet. If you are looking for me, I'll be on patrol with the guard.' Simba revealed.
'On patrol with the guard? You?' Kiara joked.
'My dad used to protect the pride-lands all on his own. Besides, the guard has done so much for us. I feel a need to give back to them.' Simba said.
'And mom wanted you to move.'Kiara added jokingly.
'she did think it would be a good distraction.' Simba revealed.
'Sounds good, have fun dad.' Kiara said.
'Thanks Kiara.' Simba said before walking off to the lion guard lair.
At the lion guard lair.
'Hello everyone.' Simba said. Entering the lair.
'Your majesty, welcome.' Ono said, welcoming the king inside.
'Your majesty, something wrong?' Fuli asked.
'No, there is nothing wrong. Sadly, I don't have any news for you all either. Though I would like to ask you something.' Simba said.
'What is it your majesty?' Besthe asked.
'As Kion recovers. I wanted to ask if it would help you guys out if I joined you on patrol until Kion gets better.' Simba asked politely.
'Be joined on patrol by the king? What an honour!' Ono commented.
Fuli looked at Beshti who also looked excited.
'Seems like a strong idea. We were just about to go on patrol, we were waiting for Bunga, he's taking long.' Fuli explained.
'Normally little B would be in the pool before we'd even get here.' Beshte commented.
'It's ertainly strange.' Ono also commented.
'Should you take a look around Ono?' Simba asked.
'Good idea your majesty.' Ono said before flying off.
'I'm gonna have a look around myself, this is not like him.' Fuli said before sprinting out of the lair herself. Leaving Beshte alone with the king.
'I guess that means we start morning patrol with just the two of us?' Simba said.
'Seems like it.' Beshte responded.
'Alright, let's get going then.' Simba said, leaving the lair with Beshte by his side.
'Come on Bunga, where did you go.' Ono scanned the ground looking for any smelly honey badger around. 'Hapana.' Ono said, spotting what seemed like the one he was looking for. Ono turned around and spotted Fuli. 'Fuli, i don't know what's going on, but Bunga is just sitting, on a log.'
'Sitting still? Are you sure you haven't spotted a dead rat?' Fuli responded.
'I'm pretty sure it's him.' Ono said.
'Lead the way, I'll talk to him.' Fuli said.
Fuli quickly races to the scene. She is seriously dumbfounded by what she sees. Ono was right, he just sat there, in silence. Normally it seemed like a moment to enjoy, but these times were different.
'Bunga, you, okay?' Fuli asked the honey badger. \
'Yeah, I'm fine, was just taking in the sunrise.' Bunga responded, he didn't really sound alright. More like tired.
'I wish I could believe you, what's wrong?' Fuli asked.
'Nothing, really, I promise.' Bunga defended himself.
'Bunga, it's okay. Kion will be okay.' Fuli said.
Bunga put his arms around his head to protect himself. He no longer seemed tired and upset, tiredness had replaced itself with clear anger.
'He will be okay.' Fuli said.
'It's my fault he got hurt in the first place!' Bunga said, letting it out.
'Wow Bunga, it's not your fault.' Fuli responded.
'Yes it is! Kion gave me an order, and I got distracted. If I had just.' Fuli cut him off.
'Bunga, don't go there. It's not your fault he got attacked.' Fuli said.
'Sure feels like it. Bunga responded. 'This whole situation just confuses me. Like, why didn't Kion use the roar. Seems like a good time to use it if you ask me.'
'I don't know Bunga. But I know that he must have a reason for it, for everything. Clearly, he, and us, were not informed about these outsiders. And I know this for sure. Neither he, nor any of us blame you for this. Things happen, things that we like and things that we don't like. Right now, we don't know why they happen. But in the future, we can look back and realize why we've been through everything we have been through.' Fuli said.
'Thanks Fuli.' Bunga said. 'Was i late for morning patrol?'
'Yup, the king is gonna join us until Kion is better.' Fuli revealed.
'Seriously? That, is, AWESOME! Zuka Zama!' Bunga said before running off.
'There he is.' Fuli commented inside her head before following him to reunite with the rest.
