A/N: Yooo long time no see I'm sorry and I read the review but I just reuploaded the chapter from a year ago I actually made this story a while ago but I got confident issues and I quit because I thought I wasn't good enough well I came back because someone gave me confidence and hopefully my new chapters are 10x times better I will try to put thought into butterfly effects that's the whole fun of this lol if there are grammar mistakes I'm sorry I'm in class lol.
Naruto woke up tired after multiple low-rank missions, oblivious to the fact that today is the mission that turned them into real shinobi. He put on his headband and walked out of his house, strolling around the village. He found himself next to Shikamaru, chuckling knowing that this lazy ninja became his advisor and best friend, other than Sasuke. Shikamaru noticed Naruto's presence and looked tired. 'What a drag, people,' he muttered. Naruto stepped closer and chuckled, 'What brings a lazy ninja out so early?' Shikamaru just scoffed,
'Watching the clouds, it's relaxing.' Naruto remembered that Shikamaru always enjoyed the clouds, noting that it was relaxing. So, he lay down next to Shikamaru and watched the clouds, forgetting about all the burdens he carried and all his problems; he was just in the moment, reminiscing on his past life. While reminiscing, he oremembered, 'OH SHIT!' Shikamaru glanced at Naruto and just sighed as Naruto sped off. Shikamaru mumbled, 'Troublesome blondes.'
Naruto sped off, remembering that this is the day he went to the waves, having a flashback to when he thought Sasuke was dead and tapped into Kurama's chakra. He didn't want that to happen again, but then he also had another flashback to when Sasuke unlocked his Sharingan. He contemplated letting Sasuke get back in that situation, but he didn't want him to get hurt; he was conflicted deep in his thoughts until he ran into the side of the Hokage building. He was dazed, but then he saw Hinata.
'What are you doing, Hinata? I don't see your team,' he muttered. Her face heated up as she saw who she was talking to. 'Well, I, umm, I have an off day, so we don't have a mission today,' she stammered. 'So, I'm strolling around the village,' she finished. Naruto grinned and loudly spoke, 'You're so lucky. I have to go on another yucky mission, probably chasing another cat.' Hinata chucked " well you should probably get going Naruto before your late and she walked off." He glanced back and shrugged his shoulders.
He walked into the Hokage's office, loudly stating, 'THE NEXT HOKAGE HAS ARRIVED,' and Sakura mumbled, 'Late.' Naruto deadpanned, and before he could speak, Hiruzen cut him off. 'Today, I have a higher-ranked mission for you,' Hiruzen said with a smile. Naruto blinked in confusion, thinking, 'This didn't happen in the first timeline,' everyone hearing that was intrigued.
The Hokage smiled, seeing their faces. 'This mission will be to the Land of the Waves, and it will be an escort mission.' Then, on cue, Tazuna stumbled in drunk and eyed each genin, blurting, 'These are the brats protecting my life, pathetic.' Naruto scowled at that statement about his friends." He shouts "WHAT WOULD YOU KNOW OLD MAN WE COULD FOLD YOU IN 10 DIFFERENT WAYS" everyone is shocked as this is out of character for Naruto they didn't expect him to come to his friends defense just his own. After that altercation tazuna gains a little respect for Naruto and shuts up. The hokage speaks up "Well you all have a day to prepare pack light and be there by [8 AM] everyone leaves the hokages office and Naruto ask sasuke if he wants to train and grab something to eat after sasuke ponders "sure I have nothing else to do" Naruto grins "alright let's go to our team training ground"
They arrive, and Naruto begins talking: "How about we practice tree walking first?" Sasuke turns his head in confusion: "Tree walking?" Naruto demonstrates perfect walking up the tree. Sasuke, feeling some inferiority, tries to walk up the tree. To no avail, he gets a little angry, but Naruto calms him down. "You're not even putting chakra on your feet. You have to balance the chakra on your feet. Don't put too much because you will blast off, but not too little or you'll never stick." Naruto spoke. "It took me 3 weeks to get this down so it might take you a while."
Sasuke wants to one-up Naruto, tries again, but blasts off and hits his head. Naruto chuckles at the scene, and Sasuke tries for a couple of hours and gets it. He sticks, and Naruto is amazed; it took him 3 weeks to do that. Sasuke scoffs, noting, "I'm just better, loser." Naruto just grins. "Well, let's test that statement." As he said that, he throws a kick. Sasuke blocks but notes how powerful that kick was, reminding him of their fight back in the academy, and he wants to beat him now after that defeat.
Sasuke counters with a spinning kick. Naruto blocks and uses that opportunity to hit Sasuke with a punch; he flies back, recovering. "Damn, that loser hits hard," Naruto smiles. "Can't take a little punch." Instantly, Sasuke charges in, going for a punch to his body. Naruto catches it, but Sasuke uses that momentum to spin his body for a kick to his head. It catches Naruto off guard, but he goes back in; they are trading blows until Sasuke caves in after being pushed back so much and uses
Fireball Jutsu. Naruto whines, "That's not fair, cheater." After that, he spawns in four shadow clones and uses two to boost Naruto and a clone into the air as the clone makes another two shadow clones in the air to push them forward. Sasuke panicking uses a Fireball Jutsu. Naruto seeing this panics and uses a massive Gale palm to push the fireball back. Sasuke mentally cursed and moves out of the way. "(Not really an ass pull, I believe Naruto would be working on different jutsu in his spare time to get stronger)." Naruto hits the ground and decides it's time to get this fight over with and speed blitzes Sasuke and utterly combos him with shadow clones, finishing him off with an Uzumaki barrage.
After that fight, Sasuke and Naruto head to Ichiraku Ramen. "Sasuke, that was a good spar. You really pushed me, and you learned tree walking," Naruto says nonchalantly. Sasuke grins, "Yeah, that Uzumaki barrage you did was really good. You gotta teach me." Naruto chuckles maliciously, "You'll learn soon, trust me." They reach the store, and old man Teuchi greets them, "Hey Naruto, I see you've brought a friend with you. How wonderful." "Yeah, he's my best friend. I'm trying to get a stick out of his ass," Teuchi laughs, and Sasuke groans. They sit down, Naruto orders his usual, and Sasuke orders shoyu ramen. They sit there waiting and get to chatting. "Tomorrow is going to be scary when we leave the village, but I'm also excited to go," Naruto says. "Yeah, I also have some nerves, but when action comes,
I'll be ready to strike," Sasuke proudly states. Naruto remembers the Demon Brothers and how he froze when Sasuke went into action. "Naruto, during this mission, I'm going to do my best to surpass you so I can finally achieve my goal of killing my brother," Sasuke says with some venom at the mention of his brother. Naruto says, "Like you can catch up to me. I'd flick you away like an insect," Naruto says with pride. Deep down, Sasuke envies Naruto's strength, and it hurts his pride, but he's trying to look past that. Their noodles come, and Naruto inhales his. Sasuke looks surprised and finishes his a minute later. As they are walking back, Sasuke asks Naruto, "How did you get so strong, loser? You used to be below me, then suddenly, you were massively stronger than me." Naruto laments, "I trained all day and night, pushing my body to its limits," knowing this is a lie.
He's trying to get Sasuke to train harder so he won't have to rely on Orochimaru. Sasuke says, "Alright, loser, I'll just work 10x harder than you so I can beat you," as he punches Naruto in the shoulder, saying, "I think it's time we split paths. We need to get rest for tomorrow." Naruto agrees and walks back to his house, opens the door, and lays down, thinking that this Sasuke is going to turn out better than the future. He's more happy and actually enjoying having him as a friend. While walking home, Sasuke thinks to himself, "I need to get stronger than Naruto. By any means necessary."
A/N: I wrote this whole thing in class I'm sorry we get nowhere I just wanted to get some Naruto and sasuke bonding and foreshadowing some future events I really enjoys writing this chapter it might be kinda bad I haven't wrote in so long I don't remember some stuff from my previous chapters sorry if there are plot holes ngl sasukes character is the hardest for me his character is so complex I'm going to read my old chapters to get a feel for Sakuras character I want to make her useful but I didn't feel safe adding her and changing her whole character by mistake I think Naruto is at low jonin level rn but I really enjoyed writing thank you for everyone reading.
