Authors note: Hey everyone! I hope you're all doing alright! I'm posting two chapters today, so I hope you enjoy! Let me know if you like it. Lots of Love - Lorna :)

Sabine hated crawling through the vents. Even though they were more spacious than most on the Ghost, she still didn't enjoy it. Once she had made it into the vent, she had stopped to listen for anything around her. The stun bolt would have hit Ezra with enough force that he couldn't have made it far, at least she hoped. Her suspicions were confirmed when she heard an almost inaudible thump of someone hitting the vent. Worried, she crawled toward where she thought she heard the thump and there on the vent floor was an unconscious Ezra. A huge sigh of relief escaped Sabine when she saw him. Pulling toward her, she refocused on the task at hand. She was careful as she slowly dragged him toward the nearest exit. Luckily the vents were pretty smooth on the inside and it as easy to glide him the small distance to the vent plate where she called for the rest of the crew.

When Zeb moved the vent plate, Sabine hopped down first, easily landing on her feet.

"He's up there," Sabine nodded toward the vents.

Kanan nodded solemnly. Hera looked a Zeb aand Chopper motioning for them to go. Reluctantly they left, understanding that Ezra would be mortified if he ever found out. Hera motioned for Sabine to leave as well, but she shook her head and Kanan put a hand on Hera's shoulder to reassure her that Sabine could indeed stay. Carefully using the force, Kanan put a limp Ezra onto the floor of Kanan room, which was where Sabine found the closest exit fom the vents.

"He's waking up." Kanan said abruptly after setting his padawan down.

"No, that's not right. The stun bolt should last much longer than that, even if it was less potent." Hera argued.

Kanan's prediction turned true when Ezra started to move, scrunching his eyes and tossing his head in his sleep.

"He's powerful in the Force, Hera. Both Dark and light, and he's fighting the effects of the bolt." Kanan reasoned. "He'll be asleep for the next few minutes, but after that there is no telling."

"So we'll have to work fast." Sabine finished.

Throughout the entire process of securing Ezra, Sabine was worried tht he'd wake up. She could tell that she wasn't the only one. Luckily it took a couple minutes after they were done for ezra to start to really stir. With a sudden breath, Ezra's eyes opened with a fiery flash of red flickering across his face. Hera gasped, Sabine took a step back and though Kanan could not see the same way they could, he could sense the turn of his padawan.

Ezra coughed and blinked his eyes a few times, allowing time for the burning red to fade into the background, before he looked at the crew. Sabine tried to disappear, to go unnoticed by Ezra. It seemed to work for a moment once Kanan caught Ezra's attention. Ezra glared at kanan, which would have been funny as the older man could not see it, but it was so intense and threateningly dark that the comedy of it was lost. Ezra struggled against the bonds briefly, but didn't see the values of continuing to struggle against the unforgiving ties. After he gave up against the bonds, he just remained motionless. Staring at each individual person in the room, noticing Sabine for the first time. He narrowed his eyes at her presence.

"Clever." He shifted slighty, looking more relaxed than Sabine had expected him to be. It brought her a little discomfort to see him so unnaturally calm, that wasn't Ezra. "Shooting me with a stun bolt through the vents" He looked to Sabine. "Your idea, right?" She nodded solemnly, trying to remain stone-faced.

"Figured." He replied.

"Ezra," Hera started. She cauciously moved toward him, approaching slowly. His eyes followed her until she was squatting right next to him. She moved to sit and Ezra obliged her, shifting himself so that she could comfortably be near him. Though his hands were bound. Sabine noticed how Ezra always took caution to keep the binding material between him and Hera. Sabine suspected it was because, if needed, it made somewhat of a weapon or a defense. It was smart of him, paranoid, but smart. Actually, maybe not paranoid, she thought. She didn't know how this conversation was going to go.

"Where's the holocron Ezra?" Kanan asked. Sabine would have shivered if she hadn't been trying so desperately to stay still. She knew Kanan loved Ezra, deeply, but his tone portrayed no such tenderness, only words with voice as cold as Hoth.

"Why would I know?" Ezra asked innocently.

"Because that was what you were retrieving from your room."

"Was it? Then why didn't you get it when you caught me?" Ezra eyes flashed yellow this time ringed with vivid red irises. Vividly familiar red irises.

Kanan growled angrily, walking right up to Ezra, crouching so that he could be in good view of his padawans face. "Get Out."

"I'd love too, but I'm afraid that I'm a little tied up at the moment." Ezra smirked. It looked out of place on him, like a smile that wasn't really his own.

"Get out of him now." Kanan ground out "I know you're there, that this is not him."

"You know?" Ezra feigned surprise then malicious smile creeped onto his face. "and I always thought that seeing was believing." Hera gasped and Sabine nearly broke right there, unable to even comprehend the words coming out of Ezra's mouth. Ezra would die before he said anything like that to Kanan. He had always been very careful around him ever since it happened.

"Further proof that you are not Ezra. Out." Kanan's voice was so low and quiet it frightened Sabine just a little.

"I already told you, I would love to leave, but I'm afraid I really am tied up at the moment." Ezra replied snarkily.

"Fine." Kanan replied calmly, but with a deadly undertone.

Suddenly Ezra screamed out clutching him head as though something had hit it. He just as abruptly went completely limp, sagging lifelessly on the floor. Sabine took a step forward, fully intending to run to Ezra, but Hera gave her a small head shake. Hera reached out and pulled him toward her, laying his head in her lap as she smoothed his wild blue hair with motherly concern.

Sabine finally allowed herself to give up the strong façade she had been holding. "What in the name of the Phantom was that?!"

Kanan shook his head. "That was Maul."

Ezra groaned miserably, moaning in pain. Hera quietly shushed him.

"What did you do to him?" Sabine turned to Kanan motioning antsily to Ezra.

"I used my connection to Ezra to force Maul out of his mind." Kanan replied, eyes never leaving Ezra's face.

Kanan kneeled next to his padawan putting a hand over his sleeping face. Ezra eyes scrunched and he turned his head a couple times before further relaxing into Hera's grip.

"Is he okay?" Sabine asked, unintentionally sounding a lot younger, more innocent than she intended. It wasn't often Kanan heard that type of worry in the mandalorian's demeanor. Sabine was always the strong one, but not where Ezra was concerned apparently. The boy had grown on everyone, even stony Zeb. Kanan repied carefully to reassure the teen.

"He won't feel great." Kanan replied. "But Maul is gone for now. He should be fine."

She nodded stoically.

"Kanan, love. He's waking up. Are you sure this is the only way?" Hera asked, concern lacing her voice.

In response, Ezra shifted in her arms, head tossing and turning while his eyes flickered underneath their lids. Though Kanan was technically blind, he used the force to see objects and people around him. He gently touched Ezra's forehead and Ezra's movements ceased.

"Is he-?" Hera started to ask.

"He's still waking up. The only reason he was shifting like that was because he was uncomfortable. He'll probably have a crushing headache when he wakes up still, but he's comfortable currently." Kanan replied in response to Hera's unfinished question.

Sabine and Hera fell quiet as they all waited in tense, but not uncomfortable silence for Ezra to wake up. It started out slow, with a flicker of his eyes here or a deep breath there, but it rapidly changed when with a shallow gasp.
