I don't own Disney's The Owl House. I do, however own the OC known as Danielle Hopkins. Hope you all enjoy my story on this lovely show.

Chapter Nine

A celestial event takes place today. Luz was reading the fifth book of The Good Witch Azura to King. Though Danielle sitting on the half couch was covering her ears with the pillows trying to drown out the dribble of Luz's reading.

"Why?" thought Danielle, groaning. "Why'd it have to be Azura… again?"

""Azura," Hecate began. "Our paths have crossed only in battle. But today I stand before you seeking an ally"" said Luz, before sighing.

"Luz, you're getting all swoon-y again," said King, watching Luz.

"I can't help it. Azura is able to befriend everyone," said Luz, looking at King. "Even her biggest rival. I wish I had that kind of power."

"Rivals are meant to be annihilated, not befriended," said King, before wagging his tail. "Now keep reading. I've been sucked into your awful fandom."

"Please, nooo," said Danielle, covering her ears back up.

"Okay," said Luz, starting her reading back up. ""Suddenly the door swung open.""

"Ding-dong. Ding," said Hooty, swinging the door open. "Hoot! Hoot!"

"The book has come to life!" shouted King, pointing at the book. "Burn it!"

"Yeah, I don't think Luz will be doing that," said Danielle, getting up and heading towards the door. "Oh."

"Hmm?" said Luz, staring at the basket in Danielle's hands as they walked into the kitchen. "Eda, you got a package. It looks like a gift basket."

"I think you're in for a surprise," said Danielle, looking at Luz.

"Huh?" said Luz, looking at Danielle.

"Probably an offering," said Eda, seeing the basket. "Ah! Being the most powerful witch in the Boiling Isles has its perks."

"Mm. Fresh meat," said King, rubbing his paws together as the blanket is pulled down revealing a little baby.

"See what I mean," said Danielle, looking at Luz.

"No, not eating that," said Luz, walking away.

"Same here," said Danielle, agreeing with Luz.

"Witches eating babies is so 1693," said Eda, tilting the basket. "What is this?"

"Thank goodness," said Danielle, sighing.

"There's a note," said King, grabbing the note. ""Take care of my child till morning. Yi Yi.""

"Nope. Babies are awful," said Eda, giving a thumbs down. "Not happening."

""You will be handsomely rewarded. X-O-X-O-X-O-X. Bat Queen"" said King, finishing reading the note.

"Bat Queen?" said Eda, seeing King take some snails out of the basket. "Reward?"

"Who's the Bat Queen?" asked Luz, looking at Eda.

"They better than the emperor?" asked Danielle, looking at Eda.

"Of course. She's the wealthiest demon on the Boiling Isles. Get in with her and you're set for life," said Eda, grabbing one of the snails. "So, we keep this thing alive for a few hours and we get paid. Pfft. Easy."

"Well, this should be interesting," said Danielle, looking at the little one. "Never really babysat before."

"I have whenever I visit my tías and tíos," said Luz, before looking at the baby. "How different can this be? Our greatest adventure yet! Learning about love and life through a child's eyes."

"Don't ever regress me to being a kid," said Danielle, looking at Eda.

"Noted," said Eda, looking at Danielle before summoning stacks of books in the girls arms. "Also, you have to return the books I checked out from the library. I don't want them getting a cut of the loot."

"Good thinking," said King, whispering back.

"Home away from home away from home," said Danielle, walking towards the back door with Luz. "I actually happen to like the library."

"Bet you loved to live in one," said Luz, looking at Danielle.

"That would be a dream," said Danielle, slightly daydreaming.

"Now, let's take a look at this little darling," said Eda, pulling the blanket off and the baby to start to shriek. "Argh!"

"Oh, boy," said King, going stiff and falling backwards.

"Go, go," said Luz, getting Danielle out the back door as she giggled.

"On second thought, maybe we could…" said Eda, already seeing that the girls were already gone. "Dangit."

Once Danielle and Luz had left and was a fair distance into Bonesborough, Danielle had set off a plant glyph to help carry the books. Situating some books in the plant bag, Danielle and Luz carry the little remainder in their arms. Seeing the library down the street, the girls briskly walks towards their destination. Walking into the library, the books in the girl's arms are levitated towards the front desk. Danielle puts the remaining books on the front desk.

"Late. Late," said a Librarian, checking the books in before looking at one in specific. "Coffee, grass and bloodstains? These are Eda's, aren't they?"

"I thought I got all the stains off," said Danielle, looking at the book. "Sorry."

"Huh. That was a crazy night," said Luz, remembering a certain night.

"I'll put them on her tab," said the Librarian, before pointing towards a pictured frame. "By the way, we're closing early for the Wailing Star meteor shower."

"Awesome," said Danielle, looking at the pictured frame.

"Ooh. What's that?" asked Luz, looking at the librarian.

"You're in a library," replied the Librarian, writing on the scroll. "Read a book."

"It's probably like the meteor showers back home but more magical," said Danielle, looking at Luz than the librarian. "I have a question."

"Again, read a book," said the Librarian, pointing to the nearby shelves.

"Tha-that's not…" said Danielle, looking at the librarian. "I was going to ask if you take donations."

"Oh," said the Librarian, staring at Danielle. "I highly doubt Eda would donate anything but what is it?

"There's this old building that we went to our first week here and it has a ton of books," said Danielle, looking at the Librarian. "I was thinking maybe you would want them or if you knew any one that would want to buy them."

"Depends on the books and their condition," said the Librarian, looking at Danielle. "Sure, bring them in and we'll look at them."

"But that's so many books," said Luz, staring at Danielle. "You know how long that will take?"

"So," said Danielle, before looking at the Librarian. "Thank you."

Walking around the library, the girls stares at the wonders of the Bonesborough Library. Walking on up a flight of stairs to an upper floor, the girls see books flying about in a fashion much like a rotating rack in a laundromat. Trying to reach for a book, Danielle sighs before utilizing a plant glyph to help grab some of the books before having to grab Luz only to yield them both to hold on for dear life as the book took them for a joyride. Finally, back on ground level, the girls end up seeing people dealing with crystal balls much like they were computers back home. Sighing, Danielle takes a seat with a book in hand as Luz still looks around.

"This place is amazing," said Luz, looking about nearby.

"I agree," said Danielle, turning a page in the book she was reading.

""What do you think you're doing? "" said Amity, being heard from the kids corner.

"I've been caught. Pretend to be a book," said Luz, striking a pose. "Wait."

"That sounded like Amity," said Danielle, placing the book down and following Luz.

""We're your friends and we wanna help," said the Tin Boy with a yelp. Otabin smiled and paced the floor. "I've never had real friends before"," said Amity, holding up a book so the kids could see the pictures.

"Looks like there's a sweet center to Prefect," said Danielle, looking at Luz before noticing a manga section. "Well, hello there. Let's see what kind of manga they have."

""Then we'll be your first," the Chicken Witch clucked. Otabin couldn't believe his luck. So, Bookmaker Otabin surrounded by friends, bound a book of friendship and that's the end," said Amity, closing the book.

"Amity seems so...nice and smiley," said Luz, before gasping. "Maybe I can befriend her like Azura befriended her rival"

"Good luck with that," said Danielle, looking through the various manga.

"Goodbye, Miss Amity," said Braxas, hugging Amity's leg. "Thank you."

"Thank you, Braxas," said Amity, patting the kid's head. "See you next time."

"Yay!" said Braxas, running out of the kid's corner.

"Ugh! You," said Amity, noticing Danielle and Luz.

"Hey," said Danielle, looking at a manga before putting it back. "Not much manga variety."

"They're still relatively new to our realm," said Amity, staring at Danielle.

"Amity..." said Luz, standing up and leaning on some books before losing her footing. "Whoop. Reading to kids. Wow. Looks like this sour lemon drop has a hidden sweet center."

"It's for extra credit," said Amity, picking up a book and heading to a kids table. "Don't get your leggings in a bunch."

"Hey, I could help with the kids," said Luz, before hearing Danielle clear her throat. "I mean we… we could help with the kids. We could take turns reading. And do voices. I do the best monster voice."

"Humans!" said Amity, facing Danielle and Luz. "Do you see me going to the Owl Shack and bugging you two while you two... fry up owls? Okay, I don't really know what you two do there, but every time you come near me, I get in trouble. Just leave me alone."

"We were only trying to help," said Danielle, before walking away. "Geesh, see if I ever try to help you again."

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry," said Luz, backing up and following Danielle. "So much for befriending rivals."

"Not everyone can be befriended," said Danielle, straightening a strand of Luz's hair. "Her loss."

"You gonna let her get to you like that?" asked Edric, only to be punched in the gut by Danielle. "Oomph… ow."

"Oh my gosh," said Luz, seeing Edric bend over.

"Sorry, natural reflex there," said Danielle, staring at Edric and Emira. "Who are you?"

"Well-wishers on a mission," replied Edric, holding his abdomen.

"A noble quest," said Emira, staring at Danielle and Luz.

"Oh no," said Danielle, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Please don't tell me you found a map to a celestial lake and such. It's fake."

"Uh, no," said Emira, looking at Danielle.

"Watch this. Hey, Mittens," said Edric, holding up a pink bunny lunchbox and looking towards Amity. "Mom says stop forgetting your lunch. And stop being a jerk to your friends."

"They are not my friends," said Amity, stalking over and grabbing the lunchbox.

"More like acquaintances," said Danielle, staring at the twins.

"Yeah, makes sense," said Emira, putting her hands on Danielle's and Luz's shoulders. "They seems too cool for you."

"I am?" said Luz, confused.

"And beautiful," said Edric, trying to kiss Danielle's hand only to have his arm bent in the other direction. "Ow ow ow-ow-ow!"

"Not interested," said Danielle, letting go of Edric's arm.

"You can leave now," said Amity, walking back towards the kid's corner. "All of you."

"So, you're the humans we've heard so much about," said Edric, walking after Danielle and Luz with Emira.

"Guess so," said Danielle, pocketing her hands.

"I'm Emira. And this is Edric. We're Amity's older siblings," said Emira, looking at Danielle and Luz. "We heard how you two embarrassed her at the school and at the witch covention last week. No wonder she hates you both."

"I know. But, uh, I didn't mean any of it," said Luz, looking at the twins. "I thought we were as cool as cucumbers. But we're as sour as pickles."

"I'd rather not be on bad terms with her," said Danielle, leaning against a bookshelf. "But as long as she has that attitude, I don't think we can be friends."

"Don't waste your time with Mittens. Me and Ed, we're way more fun," said Emira, grabbing Danielle's and Luz's hand and gearing them to an area of the library. "Follow us."

"'Kay," said Danielle, before pulling her hand back.

Following the twins, Danielle and Luz watches as Edric wipes off the "Non" on Nonfiction on a board, before hiding. Another librarian showing patrons around the library notices the board before getting emotional and sobbing on the floor. As Luz and the twins were laughing, Danielle was able to set off a newly acquired Wind Glyph to put the chalk back in place to read "Non". The next area the twins took Danielle and Luz to was where the two librarians they saw since they got here, were shelfing books. Emira conjures a spell circle to magically take the book off the shelf repeatedly as the Librarian keeps putting it back without knowing it, since he was distracted by reading a book. Edric joins in with a spell circle to magically switch the two librarians around. The one Librarian gets emotional again and sobs. Danielle sets off a plant glyph when she notices the other Librarian about to fall off a ladder, making him land in a flower. Danielle sighs seeing that her flower made the Librarian sneeze which made the twins and Luz laugh. Heading toward another area, Edric grabs a dusty book and blows the dust towards the demon decimal system, making it sneeze and blow out a bunch of notecards.

"Whoo!" said Luz as the notecards fall around her.

"Okay, I think you three had enough fun," said Danielle, setting off the Wind Glyph and making the wind stack the notecards on top of the demon decimal system.

"Hey!" said Amity, spotting Danielle, Luz and the twins with a Librarian next to her.

"Wait," said the Librarian, looking around. "Where's Gary?"

"Coming," said Gary, running over before sobbing. "Nooo!"

"Whoa!" said Danielle, Luz and the twins, pushed out of the library.

"You've made reading far too fun. Now, stay out," said the Librarian, slamming the doors shut.

"Amity's even madder at me now," said Luz, as she stopped laughing. "I didn't think that was possible."

"But I put everything back after they had their fun," said Danielle, staring at the doors. "I got booted from the library… booted… nooo."

"No, when Mittens gets mad, she looks like this," said Edric, inhaling sharply as his face goes red before exhaling. "Whoa, I almost passed out."

"You're pretty fun, humans," said Emira, before looking at Edric. "So, hey, we're coming back tonight. There's a certain book we forgot to... check out."

"And bonus, rumor has it the Wailing Star's supposed to unlock some rare magical event," said Edric, staring at Danielle and Luz. "You in, friends?"

"Sure," replied Luz, before looking at Danielle. "Uh… Danielle?"

"Great. Meet back here at midnight," said Edric, walking down the steps. "See you, Danielle. See you, Luz."

"Okay," said Luz, waving bye before looking at Danielle. "Danielle, are you…"

"I got booted from the library," said Danielle, whining as she slumps to the ground.

"Ooo," said Luz, helping Danielle up before heading down the steps.

Heading back to the Owl House, Danielle and Luz don't know that Amity was hiding in a corner, overhearing their conversation. The moment they got back, Danielle and Luz see Eda rocking the baby. Sitting down next to Eda, Danielle slumps down in a little hissy.

"What's wrong with you?" asked Eda, staring at Danielle.

"I got booted from the library," replied Danielle, crossing her arms over her chest.

"I just had the best day. Cool teens like me," said Luz, looking at Eda. "Call me a library book 'cause they were checking me out."

"Lucky you," said Danielle, looking at Luz.

"Aw, Eda, you look so motherly," said Luz, staring at Eda holding the baby.

"Say that again and I steal your tongue," said Eda, glaring at Luz.

"Aw. How can you say that around this cute little baby?" said Luz, repeatedly poking the baby's cheek before it spat out another of its kind and the other as well, leaving three little ones flying in front of her. "Whoa!"

"Go! Go!" said Danielle, running out the front door.

"Parenting sure looks rewarding. E-Enjoy your life lessons," said Luz, about to leave. "Bye!"

"Traitors!" said Eda, seeing the girls were gone.

After having run from the Owl House, the girls take their time and enjoy the sights of Bonesborough till the designated time. Heading towards the Bonesborough Library, the girls patiently wait for the Blight twins. Luz on the other hand… was being Luz.

"Gotta be cool. Cool?" said Luz, trying to strike various poses. "No. Cool."

"I can't believe it. They flaked on us," said Danielle, leaning against a wall before heading towards the stairs. "Let's go, Luz. I knew it was too good to be true."

"Whoa, hey there," said Emira, gaining Danielle's attention after leaving her hiding spot. "We didn't flake on you. Just observed you is all."

"You ready to bring this inside?" asked Edric, pointing towards the door.

"Mm-hmm-mm-hmm," said Luz, nodding her head.

"Yeah, sure," said Danielle, before thinking. "I hope Eda is doing okay with the babies."

"It says no trespassing but I'm allergic to the rules," said Edric, handing a piece of paper to Emira.

"And dairy," said Emira, grabbing the piece of paper.

"Wow, okay," said Edric, looking at Emira. "Just expose me."

"Nothing to be ashamed about. I have a cousin who can't have dairy either. And Luz can't either so I've had to modify some recipes," said Danielle, seeing Emira place the paper on the door before it crumbles and the keyhole to expand letting them in. "That's one way of getting in."

"Wow!" said Luz, staring at the giant keyhole.

"Come on," said Edric, gesturing Danielle and Luz to follow them in.

"Did not expect a library to be so creepy at night," said Danielle, before looking at the stained-glass window above the front doors. "So beautiful."

"Standing in a dimly lit lobby," said Luz, looking around. "You guys know how to party."

"There. The Wailing Star!" said Edric, pointing at the stained-glass window.

The Wailing Star passes by crying. Danielle gasps as her eyes completely become a glowing light purplish pink for a few seconds as well as her hair going completely silvery white before going back to normal. The twins and Luz hear Danielle fall to the ground and run over to her.

"Danielle! Danielle!" said Luz, as Emira leaned Danielle forward. "What happened?"

"Are you okay?" asked Emira, holding Danielle steady.

"I-I don't know," replied Danielle, before having to grip her chest.

"Looks like the Wailing Star has an adverse effect on humans," said Edric, helping Danielle up before looking at Luz. "Well, some of them."

"I need to sit down for a bit," said Danielle, as Emira and Edric helped her to a nearby bench.

"Maybe…" said Luz, staring at Danielle. "It unlocked your magic more."

"What?" said the Twins, staring at Luz.

"Found out during the convention," said Luz, staring at the twins. "Danielle can do magic. She's half witch. Her mom is from here."

"Whoa," said the Twins, looking at Danielle.

"Tell it to the whole world, why don'tcha," said Danielle, slightly glaring at Luz before looking at the twins. "Please, don't tell anyone of this."

"Uh… sure," said the Twins, looking at Danielle.

"I feel like…" said Danielle, leaning against Edric with her eyes closed. "I'm burning up."

"That's not good," said Luz, placing her hand against Danielle's forehead. "You actually do feel hot. Maybe you should go back to the Owl House."

"And let you have all the fun, no way," said Danielle, opening her eyes slightly. "I'm staying. I'll just take it easy."

"Hot beautiful human… half human leaning on me," thought Edric, blushing before trying nonchalantly to put his arm around Danielle.

"I wouldn't even try," said Danielle, feeling Edric pull his arm back while Emira giggled before opening her eyes and seeing the books glowing. "Why are the books all glowy?"

"Wow!" said Emira, as Luz opens a book with a bunch of birds coming out of it.

"Wow!" said Edric, staring at all the birds. "The Wailing Star magicked the books to life."

"If that's the case," said Danielle, standing up. "Let's stay away from any hardcore books depicting porn and such."

"Agreed," said Luz and the twins, before running towards the bookshelves.

Coming upon a magazine stand, Edric opens up Regal Couture, which dresses up him and Emira in fancy clothes. Danielle and Luz opens a different magazine which results in Danielle looking like a mage and Luz a magician. Luz was blushing up a storm seeing her attire. Next Danielle, Luz and the twins check out the graphic novels. Turns out thought bubbles appeared whenever they spoke. Seeing the twins playing around with books which magicked snowballs to life, Danielle and Luz heads to the kid's corner and opened the book Amity was reading to the kids earlier.

""Otabin spend his days alone amongst the many books he'd sewn. With needle and thread..."" said Danielle, reading the entry.

""...the pages he'd mend. But all the while he longed for a friend."" said Luz, finishing the entry before giggling alongside Danielle.

"Danielle, Luz, check this out," said Edric, walking into the kid's corner.

"Look what we discovered," said Emira, opening up a kids book with a little yellow duck swimming out of the pages.

"Aw. Cute little quackster," said Luz, looking at the yellow duck swimming about.

"I don't get it," said Danielle, looking at the twins. "What you'd discovered?"

"Watch this," said Emira, drawing in the book giving the little yellow duck buff legs. "Now he's extra cute."

"That's going to stick in my head for a while," said Danielle, rubbing her forehead.

"Your turn, Luz," said Emira, holding the pencil out towards Luz.

"DON'T!"

"Ooo, why do you have to be so loud on certain things?" said Danielle, holding her head.

"Sorry."

"I don't know," said Luz, backing away.

"Come on. Don't stop the fun," said Edric, offering his pencil.

"I can't do it," said Luz, sighing.

"Let me help," said Edric, grabbing Luz's hand and drawing in the book.

"I don't wanna see it," said Luz, closing the book.

"Erase it! Erase it! Quickly!"

"Alright, enough," said Daniell, only for Edric to grab her hand. "Hey!"

We didn't come here just to doodle," said Emira, grabbing Luz's hand and gearing her out of the kid's corner. "Come on."

"Wait! I need to erase that," said Danielle, being dragged to a certain area of the library. "Seriously! That needed to be erased."

"Oh, wow. Boiling Isles romance," said Luz, staring at the book on the shelves. "That's totally lame. I mean, unless you guys are into it?"

"I think I'm into this one," said Emira, pulling a certain book.

"Wow! That's a good book," said Luz, seeing the book click back in place and a hidden doorway to reveal.

"Okay, I'm just going to go back and erase Edric's little drawing," said Danielle, only to be grabbed by Emira and Edric. "Hey, put me down!"

"Whoa, calm down," said Edric, putting his hands up.

"Calm down! Calm down! Just because I'm not going through with what you're doing right now, doesn't mean you have to throw me in a room and lock me in it till morning," said Danielle, staring angrily at the twins. "What? I'm not cool enough like Luz? Or are you biased against us humans?"

"Neither," said Emira, looking at Danielle. "This is Amity's secret hideaway."

"What?" said Danielle, worried as much as Luz.

"We don't hang out in a library," said Edric, before imitating Amity. ""Uh, teacher, I'm in love with a dictionary.""

""I'm studying the dork arts."" said Emira, joining Edric.

"Mittens has gotten too... full of herself," said Edric, placing his hand on Danielle's and Luz's shoulder. "She keeps tattling on us when we cut class."

"She needs to learn not to mess with people like that," said Emira, placing her hand on Danielle's and Luz's other shoulder. "So, we're going to find her diary."

"And then post the pages all around school for everyone to see," said Edric, laughing with Emira. "Thought you would want to put her in her place as well."

"What?" said Luz, not liking where this was going. "Isn't that taking it a bit too far?"

"No. See, we're her family. It's tough love," said Emira, looking at Luz. "She needs to learn to lighten up."

"No," said Danielle, in a low whisper as her eyes flashed dangerously. "No no! You taking it too far! Would you like it if your diary was exposed to others? No, you wouldn't! That diary is an escape from the pressures from reality where she can vent her feelings. Obviously, she can't vent to you for obvious reasons."

"Uuuh… oh, look, Good Witch Azura books one through four!" said Luz, seeing a certain set of books. "

"Noooo! I thought I got away from it today!" said Danielle, slumping in the chair. "They even have it here. How… scratch that. She's Amura… crap!"

"Hehehe," said Amity, hearing Danielle from down the hall.

"So majestic," said Luz, grabbing a certain book. "Is this cover hand-drawn?"

"I saw those... human girls again," said the Diary, revealing to be Amity's diary.

"Oh no," said Danielle, going pale. "The diary."

"The diary," said Luz, going pale as well.

"I may have overreacted. I don't wanna come off as cruel. I just can't show weakness," said the Diary, another entry being read.

"No," said Luz, closing the book.

"What've you got there, Luz?" asked Edric, looking at Luz.

"Oh. N-Nothing. Just a Good Witch Azura 5 where she goes through her Goth phase," said Luz, trying to hid the book only for Emira to magick the book to her. "Huh? No, wait."

"Drop it," said Danielle, glaring at the twins.

"It's not fair. I'm the only one who knows Ed and Em aren't perfect," said the Diary, as another entry is read. "Why do they keep getting away with things?"

"This is it," said the twins, looking at the diary.

"Wystarczy!" said Danielle, grabbing the diary. "Fun time is over. Nope."

"I know Amity can be kind of cold but no one deserves this," said Luz, seeing Edric trying to get the diary from Danielle. "These are private thoughts. Let's put it back."

"She needs this," said Edric, only to be punched in the abdomen. "Why?"

"It's for her own good," said Emira, lunging for the diary.

"You're taking this too far," said Danielle, angrily glaring at Emira with glowing eyes.

"Whoa, Danielle, calm down," said Luz, looking at Danielle. "I won't know what to do should those chest pains of yours flare up."

"Chest pains?" said Emira, looking at Luz as she tried to get the diary.

"Got it," said Edric, only for Danielle to elbow drop onto him painfully before being pulled into a nelson hold. "Help me."

"Release… the… diary!" said Danielle, glaring at Edric as he flung it, papers scattering everywhere. "Noo!"

"Really?" said Amity, rounding the corner and looking furious as Danielle and Luz picked up the papers.

"Argh. It's not what it looks like," said Luz, staring at Amity.

"Amity," said Danielle, standing up. "Look, we can explain."

"You two are the worst," said Amity, seeing the twins giggling before grabbing her diary out of Danielle's arms and the papers out of Luz's hands. "But you two... I've been trying to figure out what your deal is. Are, are you a poser? A nerd? I know. You two are bullies."

"Otabin is nearby!"

"Amity!" said Danielle, grabbing hold of Amity's hand and tossing her towards Luz.

"What are you…" said Amity, only to see Danielle close the entrance. "Wait, what is the meaning of this?"

"Danielle!" said Luz, banging on the door. "What are you doing?"

"Friend?" said Demon Otabin, rounding the corner.

"What the…?" said Luz, hearing the voice.

"Hey, big boy. Wanna a friend?" said Danielle, staring at Demon Otabin before running down the hall. "Then, follow me."

"Friend!" said Demon Otabin, giving chase after Danielle.

"No no no," said Luz, banging on the door more. "No wonder Danielle wanted to erase it. She saw this coming."

"Is she an oracle from your realm?" asked Emira, looking at Luz.

"No," replied Luz, looking at Emira. "Just voices in her head that help her on occasions. We have… got to… get out… of here."

"Hold on," said Amity, before grabbing a specific book and letting it click, opening the door. "There."

"Danielle… just wait," said Luz, running down the halls. "I'll save you this time."

"Luz, wait up," said Amity and the twins, chasing after Luz.

As for Danielle, she was dodging Demon Otabin the best she can. There were times Demon Otabin slammed into bookshelves and books tumbling down. Gripping her chest before turning around, Danielle glares at Demon Otabin with glowing eyes. Conjuring a vast amount of Light Spheres, Danielle sends them hurtling at Demon Otabin, who batted them away like they were bubbles. Squeaking and rolling away down a different hall near a certain set of doors, Danielle was able to conjure a bunch of Light Shurikens that imbedded into Demon Otabin's flesh. Demon Otabin roars loudly and sends a shockwave that sends Danielle careening into some nearby bookshelves, unconscious. Grabbing Danielle, Demon Otabin trails back towards the kids corner unknowingly not noticing a set of eyes glowing from the set of opened doors. Meanwhile, Luz, Amity and the twins were searching.

"Where could Danielle have gone?" said Luz, looking around the library. "Why would she even do that? I could have helped."

"I don't know," said Amity, looking around as well.

"Hey, I have an idea," said Edric, grabbing a certain book. "Let's pelt Otabin with some snowballs. That should slow him down."

"Really?" said Amity and Emira, staring at Edric.

"What?" said Edric, before hiding behind the book. "I thought it was a good idea."

"I think I see her," said Luz, before gasping. "Otabin's about to sew her into the book."

"What got to think of…" said Amity, only to see Luz drawing in her diary. "What are you…"

"There we go," said Luz, as the drawing encased her and Amity. "Let's go Amicate."

"Oh my," thought Amity, as Luz drew some more. "She crossed my name with Hecate, eeee!"

As purple smoke billowed from the diary, Luz and Amity ran into the smoke to hide themselves. As it nears the kids corner, Demon Otabin looks their way as they reveal themselves. Though not knowing that Malphas got hold of the twins.

"Luzura and Amicate are here to safe the day," said Luz, striking a pose before looking at Danielle. "Now release our friend."

"But friends are what I've always sought," said Demon Otabin, before striking towards the two. "And now a friend my claws have caught."

"Wha-aah!" screamed Luz, as she and Amity dodged out of the way.

"Mmm," said Danielle, unconscious though her hair was going silvery white a little.

"Amity, think you can get to Danielle?" asked Luz, moving away from Demon Otabin.

"Sure," replied Amity, only for Demon Otabin's tail to swat her away.

"Friends," said Demon Otabin, opening a book with drawings of himself, which brought about little versions of himself.

"Oh my," said Luz, swatting the little versions away. "This just got trickier."

"Ugh," said Amity, slamming abomination goop against the little versions. "I liked the original better."

"Whoa!" said Luz, as a multitude of stars burst forth from Danielle.

"What the?" said Amity, staring as Danielle stares around with glowing eyes as the stars shoot upwards before pointing down. "That can't be…"

"Run!" shouted Luz, grabbing Amity as the stars rain down. "Aah, no. Wait… ah! One went down the back of my shirt!"

Sliding out of the kids corner, Luz and Amity see the stars still raining down. Demon Otabin is pelted relentlessly as it is pinned to the floor with stars holding him in place. Roaring, Demon Otabin utilizes his tail to knock the book holding Danielle down. Unfortunately, it didn't work as the book started hovering in the air. Walking forward, Amity gasp as Malphas shows himself, with the twins hovering nearby.

"I think that is quite enough," said Malphas, magicking the book in Demon Otabin's chest towards him, elating a roar from Demon Otabin. "I suggest you fix your mistake right now, Blight Boy."

"Yes sir," said Edric, grabbing an eraser from his pocket and erasing his doodles.

"What a relief," said Luz, before seeing Danielle still in such a state as she walked forward. "Danielle."

"Luz!" said Amity, staring at Luz. "Wait!"

"Danielle… are you in there?" asked Luz, as Danielle raised her hands to conjure forth more stars. "Danielle?"

"Apparently not," said Malphas, walking forward and touching Danielle's forehead with the tips of his claws. "There, that should do it."

"Mmm," said Danielle, slumping in Luz's arms.

"Danielle," said Luz, pushing Danielle's hair to the side.

"She'll be fine," said Malphas, looking at Luz than the twins. "As for you two, you will be working here for the next few weeks for such a stunt. This is the reason why the library is closed every year around this time."

"Sorry Malphas," said the Twins, looking at Malphas.

"Emira, you'll be working even days while Edric will be doing odd days," said Malphas, before staring at Amity. "As for Amity… thanks for keeping the damages to a minimum."

"You're welcome Malphas," said Amity, slightly bowing to Malphas.

"Young Luz, I suggest you get your friend home," said Malphas, looking at Luz. "I'd like you to return one day soon so I can give you two something."

"What?" asked Luz, staring at Malphas.

"Something important that will help you two," replied Malphas, staring at Luz. "Now off you go. Young Danielle will need her rest after… all that."

"Yes sir," said Luz, trying to lift Danielle. "What does she eat?"

"Here… I'll… carry her," said Edric, picking Danielle up.

"Thank you," said Luz, as they left the library before stopping Amity. "Wait. It doesn't make up for reading your diary but would you wanna borrow this? I noticed you only had up to four."

"Thank you," said Amity, as she takes the book. "Maybe you two aren't bullies. I haven't exactly been the friendliest witch either. I'll think on that."

Yawning, Luz and Edric while carrying Danielle head back to the Owl House. After bidding goodbye after Edric laid Danielle on the half couch, Luz slumps on the couch next to Eda. As morning arrives, Luz ends up meeting the Bat Queen who had come by to pick up her babies. Eda and King wake up not long after Bat Queen left.

"Your night looks very successful. Look at all that money you made. And look at this cool whistle that scary woman gave you," said Luz, as she picked up a whistle. "I'd wash it before you use it."

"Yeah. We did it all for the money," said Eda, sadly.

"I miss my babies," said King, hugging Eda.

"So, how was yours and Danielle's night?" asked Eda, looking at Luz.

"Good. Then bad. Then maybe good?" replied Luz, before looking at Danielle. "Though I think best to let Danielle sleep in. She had it more… rough."

"Please don't tell me," said Eda, looking at Luz.

"I'll explain…" said Luz, heading towards the kitchen. "As I cook breakfast."
